Loved this and am building up to longer and longer practices. 16 stone male when I started. Every time you say downward facing dog I cringe! Top tip? If your yoga matt came with a carry strap like mine did. It's most likely a strap but with an adjustable free floating loop on either end. When you do the leg/strap exercise it's so much easier/relaxing to bang a loop around either wrist. That way instead of gripping for dear life and uncomfortable after a while - whilst you still have to hold it but arms are raised off the floor you can basically relax everything and allow gravity to do the work. So much nicer!

I’m falling in love with Yin Yoga because of your classes! Your instructions are so clear that i can practice with closed eyes, which allows me to be ever more present with the sensations in each part of my body. Holding for a few minutes gives us the chance to adjust and even be playful with the free parts of our bodies (rolling, squeezing, twisting, getting creative with hand positions and balancing/experiencing different muscles per pose). I started taking surrender yoga at lifetime fitness last year until they closed the gym. It really helped a lot to get me loosened up. I was way too tight in every joint imaginable. I have been doing all your classes now for about a month. I am amazed at how flexible I have become and I feel so relaxed after your session.

It's easy to adjust timing of the poses for yourself using mobile apps like "Tabata timer". I find a sequence of yoga poses that I like and then create a workout with these poses in "Tabata timer", choosing the duration of each pose that I like. After practicing for some time, when I feel ready for more extended poses, I adjust the duration.

Thank you for the instructions throughout reminding me of proper form, keeping my shoulders down from my ears and proper positioning for less stress on back and the music, I love the music. I am a scare actor in San Diego, and Kassandra, this video was a life saver for my muscles! I’m a slider, so I exert so much pressure on my knee and hip joints around this time of year. Today I woke up extremely sore and in pain, but after just doing this video, I feel extraordinary. Nice to have my body back! I gotta scare tomorrow!
this was amazing, I chose to do this before my wind down/night routine and I don’t regret it. This video really helped me actually fully relax and take my time with it. Usually I’m very antsy and on a hurry (I’m used to fast paced) so this really helped me get off my hamster wheel and take time to enjoy each pose and the stretch it will give my body. This was exactly what I needed! It was hard to focus at the end, I have a curious cat that decided he wanted to lick my face, and love on me. However it was challenging, and fun for my first yin yoga class.
I find that i get restless at times especially when i have a lot of chores to complete for that, the 3 mins hold just doesnt work for me. i cut it to 2 mins... def will give this a try. But i understand the fundamentals of yinyoga is to hold 3-5 mins. will work on that eventually. thank you for sharing Kassandra.
Sari Jenkins You could do a one legged happy baby! Its almost the same thing and same stretch but you're lying on your back so there's no knee pressure
I am very far from my legs in the forward fold. Any suggestions? Also I found my shoulders to be experiencing the stretch the most in the banana stretch, that seems off? Is that true?
For the forward fold you can always try putting a block or a pillow under your hips to elevate them more. It will help you fold a bit further by tilting your pelvis. However, it's a hard pose so it's possible that your spine and hamstrings are just quite tight and need time and practice to adjust. For the banana pose it's perfectly fine to feel a stretch there! To increase sensation in your side body just increase the curve by bringing your hips further out and really make sure to keep both hip bones facing up and not rolling to one side, otherwise you won't feel anything.

Hi @yoga with kassandra I find when doing the child pose most of the sensation is on the front of my ankles and feet is this right?
My hips don't open like that; never have even when I was a child. Perhaps some kind of bone deformity. Can I still participate in this yoga?
