Thanks Lance for your videos, you helped me more in 30min than anyone at Signature Solar in 11 months. You were right in one of the videos they just plan suck when it comes to customer service. I have phone call after phone call and no one could help me with the dip switches. This was excellent and put me on spot. They will not return phone calls, I guess they just want to sell sell sell. Wish I had done better research before in invest all the $$$. Thanks again and keep on sending new videos -- Blessings

I'm so glad to hear that I could help. I'll continue to share my experience, as it occurs.

Thank you Lance! I knew I wasn’t going crazy. That text on the bottom is so contradictory what is “on” is “off” and what is “off” is “on” - Ridiculous. Thank God for you my man for setting people straight, it took me a lot of trial and error to figure it out before I saw your video. Oh yeah, everybody make sure that you don’t use number one dip switch settings as that is reserved (I saw the little white tape on your second battery stating that). So your dip switch settings should be zero for your first battery (this would be the one that has the communication cable going directly to the inverter), then set the next battery dip switch to #2setting, third battery for dip switch #3setting, etc
dip switch settings from top to bottom 0,2,3,4,5,6
(don’t use number one DIP switch setting for any of your batteries)

In the inverter booklet the pictures are backwards too lol. I noticed cuz it says "off = down" and right next to it has a picture with the white all up which should be all up/on but I guess they don't understand how pictures work.
That's on the EG4 company though whoever they are.
On signature solar's fault a bunch of their breakers are labeled wrong. Their main breaker they use for all 48v stuff is rated at 60-80DC not 48v
Actually further reading of your book I saw it is just simple binary octet of switches to get their numbering. It's just backwards and upside down.. in their first book and now it's just backwards in their new book but at least they figured out that up = on lmao
googling that lead me to the diysolarforum post where I guess the guys figured this out more than a year ago already in may 2022

My inverter manual says the Lifepower batteries off is down and the LL batteris on is down. The latest (Dec 2022) doc for the lifepower show down is off as well which is correct.
I feel like it's hard to get in contact with technical support at signature solar. If you get in contact with their technical support it is great but you almost are always stuck with their sales "support".

I have been dealing with dip switches for 50 years. USUALLY... The white portion is the switch tit. Obviously flawed docs. Question, when you update the battery software, do you have to update each one, one at a time? Or, if you update the master, will they all update through the chain?

Each module must be updated individually.

I have 20 and no one at SS can answer how i connect them to read them all. I also bought a eg4 cummunication hub but they can't seem to tell me how to configure them there either. And no one returns calls, or e mails

Signature solar is a scam company
There batteries are great ‼️ The people they have working there are nice. But what there selling is junk and there customer service is terrible
All there concerned about is research and deployment and selling equipment. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCTS ‼️‼️‼️

It is binary encoded with the left bit being the least significant (which is unusual)

Hi, have you been able to get communication eg4ll-v2 and eg4 lifepower4 in a single rack? - my setup is four eg4 and one eg4ll-v2 .I made the mistake thinking I could mix the battery's in single rack and all five would be recognized by my Schneider inverter in closed loop communication. Currently my inverter on see's the four eg4s

No, I'm using software. Since you only have a single EG4-LL V2, you can hook up a PC directly to it and monitor it with BMS Tools. Sorry I can't be of much more help.

Lance, I'm running 1 48v EG4 LL battery, 1 3000W EG4 inverter. I can't get fault code 19 to clear. I've got my RS485 cable installed between battery and inverter. Any suggestions??

I don't have experience with that particular configuration. What ID are you using on the battery?

@@lanceknoechel8945 There is so much confusion about the dip switches. Up bring off, down being off. I've tried both positions, for position 1. Even tried position 2.
