- Hasbro finally deliver a Star Wars Vintage Collection Play set! And it's awesome! Welcome to my review of the Jabba's Palace Adventure Set. This Star Wars playset includes a Jabba's Palace diorama, and two exclusive figures - Han Solo in Carbonite and Ree Yees.
Hasbro are showcasing this set at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago
What a fantastic set, boxed in the classic Kenner style with racetrack design and even includes instructions just like we used to get in the vintage Star Wars toys!

Heck yeah, definitely more playsets like this. I hope they finish out the Jabba's palace first, but the Cantina needs tackling too. Speaking of the cantina, the other head is a Jerba which can be seen outside the cantina in a New Hope. Great video and I can't wait to get my hands on this set.

@@BossksBounty another compaint of carbonite han-if anytime tho they was goin include a han out of carbonite, this should been it,nott sure why they cant do a swappable face or reverse it for unfrozen affect, or just include two, think this is the only set i do not have, but with fett throne, might force myself to pay over prices, ps-if want do a giveaway with the bobf one, we can do a joint op giveaway,you do the vid leg work i provide playset or "adventure set"lol also "there another name you might know me by" sithcobra

Kenner actually did make a cardboard Cloud City playset back in the day and Hasbro made a carbonite chamber playset in 2000
They should upscale the micro collection version.

I absolutely love sets like these. I loved them as a kid and I love them even more as a big kid. Lol They better keep doing sets like these. I'm still PISSED I missed out on the barge.

So awesome! I can't wait, to just see the box. This is what Hasbro needs to make, more stuff like this. I wish they would have incorporated a LED light above carbonite Han in the grate.

Yep a light would of been cool, I think the grates are there for us to do it ourselves lol
I'd love to see more of the moveable arches. I feel they are huge part of the aesthetic and there wasn't much time dedicated to them in the video - it would be awesome to see all the 360 views of the different combinations you can do with the arches. They really frame the scene so much more than just the back wall itself.
Apologies Ian, but they can only go on two ways, horizontal or sticking out which I did show. I guess there would be 4 combinations. Both horizontal, both sticking out, or one sticking out and one horizontal. (swapped)
@@BossksBounty yeah those were the combos I was referencing. I got some good shots of them on another site and it's cool it has that kind of versatility. Hoping for many more of these!

Another great video. Awesome playset and like everyone else, I really hope Hasbro produce more sets like this, as well as extension sets to this one. How cool would Jabba’s throne room be as an add on! Perhaps that’s why there are various brackets to connect walls to?
I think you are right mate, its kind of like a modular set that looks like could be expanded upon in the future.

The other trophy head is a Jerba. One can be seen from the side/rear in Mos Eisley when Luke and Ben are exiting the Cantina.. Also when R2 and 3PO see the Sandtroopers entering the Cantina.

Seeing this setup with the new Throne room from the Celebration 2023 footage and I wish I'd picked it up. Prices have gone crazy now!
As someone who only collects vintage, this is pretty neat. I hope they do more of the play sets Kenner never did, IE: Bespin and the Second Death Star
I remember those inserts from kenner ! Really brings back memories from way back when. Really am excited for this playset (Han in Carbonite on a TVC card really is my selling point). Do hope that Hasbro makes more playsets from the Kenner days. Would be nice to see a Hoth playset (40th anniversary of empire *hint hasbro hint*). Another great video !

I havent got the Vintage TIE Fighter because I wasnt going to pay £90 for it!! I have seen images of it as low as 30 dollars! crazy! wish i lived in the US!

Have you noticed that my Palace in the review hasnt got a painted archway above the carbon block. They must have corrected this because I got a 2nd set after giving that one to my son and its painted.

I love it. I wish I still collected the 3.75 line. If Hasbro scaled this up, I would buy it in a heartbeat for the Black Series.
I do like the 6" line but have mainly been a 3.75 collector, goes back to the original Kenner days
Cool set, just picked this up at Walmart. The pricing for this is nuts, Amazon was $89 and even Walmart online was $118 while I snagged it in store for $50. Looks good, should have made the flip side of carbonite with the indentations of Hans body tho, cool video and ty!!!
Thanks for the video. I got this out of box and no figures with it. Now I see why the older Han Solo in carbonate doesn’t stay up. The ree yees goes for a lot sold by itself. I use this as my jab as palace diorama, but missing a few figures.

I think HELL YEAH !!! That they should make more playsetes like this !!! like you said for the Cantina ,how about Ben's hutt?, Laras homstead ( the whole thing).docking Bay. The quality of this set is amazing the price for it here was $50.00 so maybe a lil cheaper but with the cost of oil theses days that help makes plastics i can see why?

My original Kenner Han Solo still has traces of plasticine on him from when I made a mold to create a wax Han Solo in carbonite in 1980.
I agree-more playsets! They’ve always found a way to produce them with previous incarnations of figures so they should continue with Vintage/Black Series.

The other animal head is a Jerba. Check it out, there's a huge history on this actually being in the films all he way back to ANH. Quite a little easter egg and story to boot. I only learned about them this year myself.

I have the old cardboard Cantina & Jabba Palace playsets.
This would be nice to add a little more rigidity to that, though ultimately I hope they make a good solid new version that isn't going to fall apart like the cardboard ones do.
Looks as good as I was hoping it would. A fine touch with the hovering block. Going to keep the figure on card so using a Saga Han Cardonite instead, think it may look better with the half melted look
Check out my review for the Solo figure, you can pick up an identical Black Series version. Glue a thin magnet on the back and hey presto!
In the picture on the box, the Carbonite slab looks smooth. I was really thinking that they finally made a slab that you put the Han figure into and pose into whatever postion you like. But nope, when you opened the Han Solo card, just another molded Han in Carbonite. The magnet feature is a nice addition though 💯
I'd like to see Luke Skywalker's garage from Ep. IV. Complete with Oil Bath...

I think this looks like a great playset, great details, nice figures too. Its not for me, it doesn't fit into my collection but it gives me hope for future playsets. I'd personally love to get an Emperor's Throne room with stairs, the seat and a window backdrop. Or the command deck of an Imperial Star Destroyer. These sets could be really big, but I'd be really happy for sets around the size of this Jabbas palace playset.

I think they need to make more playsets. Next they need to do Jabba's throne room with Jabba The Hutt,Slave Leia and Salaccious Crumb. :)

Great review! Thanks Bossk´s Bounty. The other creature is a nerf, which was definetely presented in Star Wars Marvel comics from 2015 to present 2019. I also wish as many collectors that Hasbro moves onto the developement of Bespin playsets. They have the model of the 1980s Micro collection and could serve them of nice use. Peace.

Great review. This is the kind of playset we've been waiting for not that crappy cardboard chit! Absolutely love the fact that they have two carded figures packed in. That really adds a lot to the value for the price tag. Must have!

That's a Jerba head on the wall. You can see them in Star Wars outside the cantina. I'll be it, in the background and super hard to miss.

No problem man. I'm a Star Wars super fan, and had no freakin' clue what a Jerba (or that head) was until last year lol. And I'm old enough to remember seeing ROTJ in '83.
We definitely need a cantina set of some sort or a Most Eisley set at the very least. An updated Endor bunker set wouldn't hurt with a better more articulated plastic bunker maybe with better doors and toy base computers inside?
I think the additional beast head on the wall might be a Nerf.... Hence the slang saying from.Leia "Nerf herder" in Empire Strikes back. Lol. I'm just guessing, of course .

I would like to see Hasbro do sets that work together, The Carbonite Jabba scene, as well as the BBQ behind his dias, maybe some stairs attached. Hoth could have multiple sets that work together, Hangar Bay, Medical Lab, Command Centre, Hallways etc. The list could go on in how Hasbro can really build up the playsets in such an easy and affordable way.
I think bits can be added on to this.
