Vintage Collection Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) by Hasbro Haslab

- Hey there everyone, its been a while since I managed to pick up the Sail Barge and since then it has been packed away due to lack of space. Now the Tatooine Skiff has been released I have made the effort to create a space so join me and my kids in unboxing the Star Wars Vintage Collection Jabba's Sail Barge!
This mammoth toy or display piece was crowdfunded by Hasbro in something called Haslab. it got over 800 backers at 500 dollars but was only available to North America and eventually Canada. Obviously this annoyed many Star Wars collectors from other countries including myself here in the UK. For months and months we were trying to get Hasbro to respond about the availability of Jabba's Sail Barge to the rest of the world. In the end Hasbro teamed up with eBay due to their Global Shipping Programme which allowed them to be able to ship this huge Star Wars toy overseas.
About 400 became available on eBay and I was one of the lucky ones to get one. The exclusive Yakface on the Power of the Force card back including the collectors coin now sits pride of place in my collection amongst my other Vintage Collection action figures. The Barge now can also be displayed next to the awesome Tatooine Skiff.

Around 2:13 you mentioned hoping Bossk survived. In Disney’s canon, Bossk appeared as a pirate in *Star Wars Resistance*, which means he was alive during the Sequel Trilogy timeline. Hopefully we’ll see him appear in The Mandalorian.

Well done big Bossk and little Bossks 1 & 2! The Khetanna and skiffs are spectacular, no doubt. It is a shame we didn't get another Star Wars HasLab project this year, especially since the current pair appear fated to fail. One small, rather hilarious nitpick about the box art: the sarlacc. Rather than a mound of sand with a ring of Cheetos sticking out of it, one has to wonder why Hasbro didn't use this opportunity to tool a new sarlacc pit to sell along with the barge and skiffs. Oh well!
Edit: Also, the Pote figure is from PotF2 ~1999 while Barada is from Saga ~2005 (although the figure itself is a repaint of the Barada released in the PotF2 Skiff Guard 3-Pack ~1999). Both could surely use a complete overhaul, although the Snitkin sculpt still looks quite good.
Ah I knew one of them was POTF2 - still a decent figure sculpt wise. Agreed about the Sarlacc, we need a new one (and without the mouth thing from the special edition) And we need a VC Rancor too!
I lost my Pote Snitkin, never opened him up, still in one of my storage boxes that I still haven't located yet, lol.
This is the type of toy that will sail into legend. Kids and future collectors will talk about this "BEAST" As a legendary toy that once was! Like the G.I. Joe U.S.S. Flag!

It is, I mentioned in the Community area of my channel that Star Wars has always been a family thing and its great that my kids love it all these years later.
The playability and poseability are limited without foot pegs. I can't believe Hasbro didn't give us foot pegs. Crazy.

Congratulations on landing this barge. It truly is a marvelous item to have. Great review as always! I absolutely adored your younglings as they put out all the figures on that barge and skiff. That truly is a memorable family moment!
Every time I see this barge I kick myself for not getting one. As a collector who’s spent a lot of time and money the past five years building up my collection, why I didn’t take this opportunity seriously is beyond current comprehension. I must have been in a coma during that whole campaign. If there’s ever a 2nd chance to get one, which I’m sure is less than 0.0000001%, I will not hesitate to redeem myself.
It was a big outlay at the time though, 500 dollars is a lot on one item
@Bossk's Bounty - yea, at the time $500 did seem like a lot. But in hindsight, I probably drop that much every 2-3 months anyway on 6” Black Series, TVC, Funko Pops, and other “must have” items of the week. After seeing how awesome it turned out, I’m riddled with regret. Next time I’ll try not to let price scare me off....cheers mate, and enjoy!

I know that they probably won’t and have even said as much but they truly need to reproduce this vehicle. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I’m mad I didn’t know this was happening until after it was done. I’m glad I was able to get the Slave 1 and the Razor Crest.

Bossk finally got his Barge mega Bounty! All we need is Kenner/hasbro to do a Sarlacc Pit playset for the first time ever in the vintage collection they could throw in a couple of carded Skiff Guards or the re-carded Boba Fett figures in the box as well.

Oh my God. Honestly, that's got to be your new pride and joy, huh? I didn't even watch the video, but corresponding with you over your videos...I've gotta bet it is. Now I must say, I'm a smidge jealous even. It's my most wanted ship, ever, being the die-hard Jabba fan I am. However, at the time of the campaign, there was just no chance I could afford it. What sucked too? Like a month after, I got a MUCH better paying job and COULD HAVE! So with re-sell value now, I've pretty much slouched down and committed to facing a fact: I'll never own one. Breaks my nerd heart, but gives me solace to see those who love it and DO have it and post amazing videos for us fans who couldn't see/own it in person. It's honestly a masterpiece. While I do like the NEW Disney Sandcrawler, the price is amazing, I was hoping for a Haslab Sandcrawler too but I think dreams of that have been dashed away.
I have had it a while now but never had the space to display it. When the Skiff arrived I had to make the space! Sucks you were not able to get one buddy, I went through a torrid time trying to get on as I am in the UK. eventually the last 400 odd were given to the rest of the world via eBay. It wasnt cheap but I just had to go for it. Couldnt let that POTF Yak get away from me.
@@BossksBounty And when you toss in that second skiff once you get it, man, that display will be beautiful! Maybe someday, someday, someone will take pity on my poor soul and sell one to me for like...oh GOSH! A thousand is probably cheap even by now. Ugh! But until then, it's a dream item of mine. I did get lucky and score most all the "BIG" re-made modern OT vehicles at great prices like the Falcon, AT-AT, ESB Slave 1, etc, but this would be my holy grail. Alas, what dreams may come. =P

Tim, I’m super happy for you that you had the chance to get this beauty of a collectible!
It’s unfortunate Hasbro made it that exclusive, but maybe this is going to change for future projects after the fail of the Cookie 🍪 Monster.
I really enjoyed listening to you guys putting that ship on display! And your little ones did a great job making those figures stand! They got my full respect! I struggle to balance them myself and it’s remarkable to see how careful your children handle those tiny plastic people.
I’m also glad that Hasbro gave you a refund. It’s still a shame they didn’t prepare them even better for shipping across the planet. Especially after charging international customers an extra $200!!

It was a true joy watching this video a second time and seeing you sharing so much fun with your family, Tim.

Barada was sculpted for the POTF2 line in 1999, where he was part of a 3-pack with Vizam and Klaatu. Then he was repainted and released individually carded in 2006, which is the version you've got there. Still a pretty good figure, but I would love to see an update. Hasbro could even release a regular version, then release an exclusive version painted like the vintage figure on a retro POTF card with a coin.
I imagine that Bossk survived the Skiff Battle, I'm sure that once he saw Boba Fett go into the Sarlacc, he was just like, "Nope! I'm outta here!".

Great video B.B.. I have that same Barada on my new Desert Skiff and he's from the Saga collection. I have 2 Desert skiffs but my Khettana is stuck at a friend's house in California and I will be getting it next month.....what an ordeal I've been through over it too. I did receive my Making of Khettana Booklet last year though lol

😂😂😂 love how Bossk was hanging out after you'd put sails on! ! Yep those sails definitely do straight out. My back ones looked creased, I was gutted after I put them on. You can actually pull them and stretch them straight in the short term anyway (that's what I did and I'd wad glad to see creases left) but long term, I think the tension keeps them nice and straight! Mine look firm and crisp now! Love it ☺☺

Sorry which Jabba fig? I doubt it would, this Jabba is a new sculpt and fits very snug on the throne. But you never know!

They need to rerelease this. It’s unfair they made way too few at a super high price and now the scalpers are out of control and no one except a select few wealthy collectors (ONLY IN A FEW WESTERN COUNTRIES) who were aware of it at the time got to buy them.
