- Hey there Star Wars collectors, in this video I go through every Special Action Figure Set from the Vintage Collection. Starting with the 2010 with the Target exclusive 9 pack all the way to the 2020 501st Arc Troopers 3 pack. Including all 4 of the 2 packs such as the Death Star Scanning crew.
The packaging for the Star Wars Special Action Figure Sets are based on the same vintage Kenner sets from the late 70's and early 80's.

Those were always such cool sets. The original vintage ones are so rare that in 30+ years of collecting I've only seen maybe half a dozen with my own eyes.
I went to stand up my C-3PO (with the throne) for the first time in years, and his knee joint snapped. I almost shed a tear.
I want the Sand person on a vintage card. More Ewoks too
Excellent video Tim! I've never seen the 9-pack before, Wow, what an impressive set. I remember back 8 or 9 years ago, Ollie's got some of these sets in. They had them priced for $10.00 and they were having a 50% off all toys sale so they were going for $5.00. I specifically remember seeing the Imperial Forces and the Droid set. Of course I wasn't collecting at the time, so I didn't get any of them... They just slipped through my fingers...lol.

This is an awesome collection of these multi packs! Impressive. Incidentally, I also had no idea there was a 9-pack! I was shocked to see that. Excellent video yet again and very comprehensive.

@@BossksBounty that was me. I had to take them home and couldn’t take the big cardboard unfortunately. Still got the 3 3packs though. Any idea what those are worth these days?
I remember seeing a lot of those 9-figure sets at Target in 2010. They were selling slowly but I didn't get one because they were so big and a little expensive, I thought (although they did go on clearance, eventually). I ran across most, if not all, of the sets but never got any.
There's no Target in my Island, but I have all these Vintage Collection Set !!

Kenner also released a Bespin set featuring Ugnaught, Lobot and Bespin Han. Would LOVE to get a modern version of that one! Todays Hasbro does not love us enough to do that.
I forgot they also did a Creature Set with Greedo, Walrus Man and Hammerhead. THAT would be incredible as well!

Love the Droid Set!
The Target 3-packs were slow sellers, all of them were easily available in my area. The Villain set with Fett and especially the Droid set went to clearance and still sold slow. The 9-pack came at the end, and it didn't hang around forever but because they took up so much space they were clearanced relatively quickly. I only bought one or two sets, I just didn't need most of the figures at the time.
The Kmart sets however, I was never able to find any. I wanted all of them.
I really miss Kmart. I was fortunate to have found all of their exclusives and all of the Target 3-packs. They really are my favorite part of my VC collection. Its crazy to think that that stuff went to clearance and that they fetch pretty crazy prices now. I will find a crystal ball one of these days....
Hey! Any idea what the 3pck from Target is worth these days? I got the packs and I’m looking to sell them but I couldn’t find any listings on ebay as reference
If anyone is wondering about the arc trooper 3 pack not being shipped yet, remember that hasbro is still shipping them to the premium members who bought it a day early. The people who bought without premium still need to wait.
That C-3P0 is the one that came with the Ewok throne. Arguably the best C-3P0 ever made!

I’m new to these sets and only have Luke’s pack and the 501st Troopers.... we definitely need the AT-AT driver released.

That arc trooper set was a miss for me. Hasbro didn't make many of those, I couldn't even get one. Thanks a lot Hasbro.
I was pissed they released that one in the middle of my work day and I had no way of getting it. Im convinced Hasbro is run by morons. I ended up getting one on eBay for a decent price.
These are great sets! Still amazed that my exwife managed to grab the 9 figure set for me for Xmas one year.

I'm not particularly fond of these three packs, but some of them are pretty cool...👌🏼 The best one is the Doctor Ahpra set...💯✔ That's the only one of the three packs that I own...👍🏼
Hi Tim i love this review a lot. i’m still short of 3sets. Mine, your collection is so minty, my special set collection, those plastic bands holding the figures on has deteriorated and the bits are all over the place. visually still good but seeing those disruptive bits inside the bubble, just don’t feel good. good weekend Tim.

These SAFS are some of my favorite releases of the line! I managed to get all 11 of the original run and have the newer ones except the atrocious Cave of Evil release. Hasbro really hosed that one with the multi-lingual packaging and it looks like hell with the rest of them. I hope one day the ROTJ unreleased 3-pack originals are replicated and released. The SW team that gave us the original VC run with DePriest and co dropped us some really great stuff! Keep the great vids coming! Cheers M8!
I actually like the cave of evil pack. Luke reminds me of some of the other figures I used to have with the giant joints

I just started to look for these I missed out on the cave of doom a couple of times, so wished I picked that up as it was at knock down pricing. I do now have the Luke celebration set coming as my first for this line since the 80's.

I just don't get why Hasbro doesn't update the hands and feet for the imp pilot. If you look at Luke x wing they did a great job on his gloves giving us the pivot point in the wrist. They could of done this with maul as well. When you said the imperial pilots feet don't move I cancelled me pre orders for that... Can't wait for my arc 3 pack 👌
I wish they would re do the hoth medical bacta tank play set, the fx-7 droid and 21-b medical droid were such great figures

Didn't like imperial forces only bc the bounty hunters are not imperial troops. Makes more sense would have been stormtrooper snowtrooper & biker scout. Great collection.
It doesn't make sense, right? Thats how Kenner originally released that set. Hasbro was replicating the original release. The Android set with Chewbacca in it makes no sense either, but...; )
Very cool! I'm not familiar with that R2 in the android set, it looks to be the VOTC/ Saga Collection mold but without light piping? That'd be really cool if true, the light piping is the one thing I don't like about that mold.
Man I was super excited about getting back into collecting then I got laid off 😩....

It's such a shame they refuse to update the TIE Fighter Pilot, since that ankle-less one is rather hard to stand up. As I've been away from my collection for the last two years, am I correct in remembering that that particular TIE Pilot mould has one leg slightly longer than the other?
Conversely, I suppose if they updated and improved the TIE PIlot, I'd feel compelled to get a whole wing of them, so perhaps it's for the best if they leave it for the time being. 🤣

I have 2 of the sets of these 3 packs and they are the droid 3pk and cave of evil.. the most common and worst set according to this video.. just my luck lol... great videos brother

I have always wondered about how they chose the 3 figures back in the day some of them are very odd combinations especially the Android one where C3PO is the only Android in there with a Wookiee and an Astromech ? Anyway all the modern packs look amazing except for cave of evil what a disaster even on clearance I can’t force myself to buy it

Is it me or did the Boba Fett in the Villain Set look like he had a way better head than the current Vintage Collection one? Probably a non-removable helmet
I agree, did not like Cave of Evil set at all. One of the only ones I have seen at Target and I passed.

Bought the 3 pack from Target to a guy for 50 bucks a few years ago. I had to fly back home so I had to get rid of the big cardboard.
Still got the 3 3packs, their bubble got slightly yellow but nothing too bad. I am looking to sell them. Any Idea what would be a good price for each and as a whole?

Are there any differences between that vintage one and the single carded one's (like the sega one that is like a vintage card) ?
They seem identical, but there must be a difference? and same question for IG-11 - how does that compare to the single pack?
I need to buy loose, but idk which version to target and know the differences (so I don't get lied to)
Pretty sure I say in the video about Bossk, he is a repack of the 2006 VSC and is the best Bossk. Same goes for IG-88

I believe just as in most droids that 4-LOM is not pronounced as a word. It is 4- L.O.M. One letter at a time. His name stands for “For Love Or Money”. Plus I’ve heard you pronounce Boushh, “Boosh”. I’ve always pronounced it “Bowshh’. I’m not sure which is correct though.
Boushh/Bowshh is just a British/US thing, just Potato/Potato etc. As for 4LOM, back in the day he was always 4LOM, but sure I know he is a droid and should be said 4 L.O.M but i never hear anyone say it like that
Any idea if the clones are ever coming back was not able to find them on Hasbro Pulse totally forgot.

Agreed, hated the luke, yoda, Vader 3 pack..avoided it completely. Terrible figs added in my opinion.
I probably would have bought it if they had kept the packaging the same as all the others, just to display it with the rest of mine, but they fumbled even that.

@Hasbro next line "SPECIAL ACTION FIGURE SET" 3 or 4 pack should be Clone Troopers Hardcase, Kix, Tup or Dogma...trust me Hasbro everyone will buy them... i know will (wink wink)
