Thanks so much for the kind compliment! Definitely it was a simple idea, I just wanted to make some icy jagged edges and I knew foam would work great, and it was the cheapest material around that's all. cheers !
this is my latest one, please have a look and let me know what you think, th-cam.com/video/Yb8CekCAKPc/w-d-xo.html The Budget Jedi is a legend and inspired me along with Workshop Diorama and Black magic crafts to create the one in the link above, I really love to watch these clips and get ideas etc thank you Budget Jedi
Wow! Another incredible diorama as usual. Just seeing all the Hoth related stuff that they have brought out in recent years to commemorate Empire. Yet no updated Wampa :/ Wish they would bring more creatures out again. It was good to see it survive the durability/playability test :)
Fantastic job!!!! I like how detailed you were in explaining the steps... And the "Kids" test was brilliant!!! You even broke down the cost... You truly are The "Budget" Jedi!! I'm looking forward to building something similar with my grandson. Thank you for sharing this! Kutgw!!!
What a summer project. It is quite deluxe in scope after all and holds out well. If you really have a proper Hoth 'playset' it would take up an entire room easily with the base, the cave, the trench, the plains. This is a great way to save space and still have some excellent play environments. If I'd have more room and ambition my entire display would be filled with dioramas. I do have an Endor one almost ready to be unvailed. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. - Dan
People who make dioramas out of typical house hold items or hard ware store items are way ahead of the curve compared to people who make them with LEGO! $10 for that astounding piece of display?! A LEGO version that size and to that detail would cost a couple hundred dollars minimum to acquire all of pieces in the correct color and shape. Incredible work, my friend! Keep it up!
omg i am in tears.. kids are playing with toys... hard to believe nowadays.. you did an awesome job as in all of your videos.. to bad you don't have more views.. you deserve every click
This is SIMPLY AMAZING and my SMILE is even BIGGER than the JOKER :) Love to see a fellow Diorama Builder who loves to work and design using Dollar Store items !!! I need to have you come join the Star Wars Celebration team :)
I've officially watched this video three times....Just when I think, there is nothing else Ed's videos can teach me about dios...I realize that I'm very wrong ...just brilliant being able to see that before hand with the materials you had, just brilliant...raised the bar once again my friend...
So glad I watched your video on Wampa Cave..... Excellent Job!! Makes me want to go and have an attempt to do one like that.... will have to go and get some of those noodles. I also loved what you did with the paper mache on the top and cave floor. Keep up the great videos... I love your ideas!!
The fact you used blue foam is ingenious! Visually it reminds me so much of the Ice Cave levels from Super Nintendo's Super Star Wars - The Empire Strikes back video game.
Amazing....I wish your videos were around when my son was younger....it would have been fun to make these things with him. Very nice and the kids look like they're having fun too. :)
Thanks Mark a real honor to get a comment from the MM! I wish I had half your ability to make some serious stuff like your landspeeder! Somebody needs to do a slideshow of your work on youtube, cheers!
I'm fresh into my thirties . I love collecting 4 inch action figures. Mostly batman. Only a few Star Wars.I am creating playsets for display as well. It's not just for kids!!At least it's not crack.
i do like how you put that wampa cave together its a very interesting idea it is very interesting with 1 box the foam tubes can be used for other things too like on my hoth hanger great work
This is pure talent! Hasbro toys should be embarrassed and ashamed for not making dioramas already for these classic scenes! Even their POTF Endor Playset is a joke!
whoa-a true tbj classic-absolutely outstanding my friend-excellent work-the ice walls are a great idea-l oved the durability attempt-a perfect landing pad for the arc-170 hahaha thanks for the mention too,the set looked perfect with it!!!
those damn tauntauans! ;) haha. well its great it got that dirty look without any additional work to do! it looks great all lite up and everything! pure white snow would of been fine looking anyway but i think it adds to the realism of it all for sure! great job again!
This is great. I'll have to make this for my son's birthday next year. I'll probably make a second box on the reverse side that is the interior of Echo Base to double the play value.
thanks a lot! I totally left the back flat because usually i put it on the shelf, where it needs a flat back. But yes, one can put jagged ice edges on the back to and make it look like a small mountain!
WOW! Ed, how have I only just seen this video? FANTASTIC work! The cave looks awesome! I can't stress enough how cool the completed display looks, with the battle going on above ground! Awesome job!
Helpful hint ,you can use foam covered with a thin coat of sheetrock patch plaster for the snow covered terrain .works really well especially if your doing a rocky terrain.
Super awesome display!! Great for kids, since you can easily make a few!! U should totally do that!! That way you have a giant interconnective display!! Also how easy would it be to make a batcave using this as an instructional video!! Thanx dude!!!
My only concern is that the paper mache (using flour) might attract bugs over time (especially if it is displayed in one spot). An alternative would be Elmer's glue and the toilet paper. the glue is thicker and could possibly be watered down.. Great playset! You gave me a bunch of great ideas!
Thanks a lot haha Hasbro can do it even cheaper than i can, and can sell it for a lot more! that's why. appreciate you checkin in and thanks for the support
Thanks so much for the kind compliment! Definitely it was a simple idea, I just wanted to make some icy jagged edges and I knew foam would work great, and it was the cheapest material around that's all. cheers !
Selling vintage figures is one thing, but selling your dioramas is another! Truly love your creativity. Awesome vids :)
Does anyone other than me enjoy following these videos and building my own?
A lot of niggas.

Budget please come back!! There's so many new awesome diorama ideas I'd love to see you build!
all your creations look better than what the companies make, when they make playsets. great job once again!
Wow! Another incredible diorama as usual. Just seeing all the Hoth related stuff that they have brought out in recent years to commemorate Empire. Yet no updated Wampa :/ Wish they would bring more creatures out again. It was good to see it survive the durability/playability test :)

Wow great work! The best part is that it's cheap but it doesn't look cheap. And it's easy to build. Thanks for the video.
My son and I love to watch, and use your tips, to create our own playsets. Thank You for taking the time to make great content.

That was pretty awesome! I might use your methods for a Fortress of Solitude diorama. Thanks for the video!

Well to be fare you can’t really compare them, because this meant for action figures when LEGO is meant for buildable figures and structures
The Force is strong with this one. This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
omg i am in tears.. kids are playing with toys... hard to believe nowadays..
you did an awesome job as in all of your videos.. to bad you don't have more views.. you deserve every click
Using pool noodles and fire to create a cold winter diorama, you may be the wisest man in earth.
This is SIMPLY AMAZING and my SMILE is even BIGGER than the JOKER :) Love to see a fellow Diorama Builder who loves to work and design using Dollar Store items !!! I need to have you come join the Star Wars Celebration team :)

I really like that - the blue foam kinda showing through makes it look like real blue ice, like we get up here in northern Michigan.
Wow, you are incredibly creative and talented. This is such a fun playset and diorama. I would have loved this as a kid.
CMB76 Thanks for the super kind words, yeah this is pretty fun, especially because I never grew up so I'm an oversized kid haha.

Youre the best at these dioramas. Very creative. Thanks BudgetJedi
Thanks Mark a real honor to get a comment from the MM! I wish I had half your ability to make some serious stuff like your landspeeder! Somebody needs to do a slideshow of your work on youtube, cheers!
Terribly awesome. Reminds me of what I used to do as a kid building my own playsets and vehicles. Subscribed
haha that's awesome. I wish I had done more of these when I was a kid! thanks for the sub and comment

very cool! would never have thought to use the foam noodles, and they work very well!
Awesome diorama. You are so creative when it comes to making your own stuff.
Awesome. After seeing your Hoth Dio. I decided to build one and used yours as my model. Thanks for the inspiration)....
This is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Simply amazing. Great job. Subscribed!!!!
This guy is fucking smart, he uses everyday household items to make dioramas, pretty damn awesome.
No way, I'm just like everyone else (well maybe a lot geekier) but anyone can do this easily! thanks for stopping by and commenting
This is pure talent! Hasbro toys should be embarrassed and ashamed for not making dioramas already for these classic scenes! Even their POTF Endor Playset is a joke!

wow. I don't even like Star Wars, but I LOVE this Wampa diorama! Excellent work, Sir!
haha! well thanks for watching! technically i suppose this cave could be any kind of cave, even for just a random diorama!

Hahaha! What a great build! And most importantly it passed the durability test!
haha yes it did thanks for watching appreciate the comment
This is truly amazing..adding a flame to the foam pieces really made it look like ice!
Looks good man. Those foam noodles work really well as ice! Good Job.
fantastic man, love watching the process too, great ideas done wonderfully!
This is great. I'll have to make this for my son's birthday next year. I'll probably make a second box on the reverse side that is the interior of Echo Base to double the play value.
Mens playing with toys, love it. I want my Wookiee!
Nice use of those foam noodles. That is amazing work.
Looks really good. And creative.
WOW!!!! This is absolutely incredible. Your grade is an A+!!!
I never get bored watching what you do next . Keep it up :)

Very imaginative mind you have. You should be a model maker for the movies.
No matter how close it looks as the movie cave it still looks really cool
your dioramas are amazing!
Amazing work and extremely creative.
very nice! I really think its a great new addition to your displays. and thanks for putting my wampa cave diorama video's link at the end :)
this is awesome..great job creating this diorama.
Awesome diorama! I would never have thought to use foam noodles for something like this. It looks absolutely amazing.
This is genius!! I'm gonna try something like this myself. I absolutely love the video.

It looks like a real wampa cave. Good jab
Wow! This is absolutely fantastic.

It looks really incredible...
Thanks much for the kind words, and really hope you do, and share with us as well! thanks for watching!
Dude, you are so creative!
thanks a lot!
Awesome job!
more impressive every time great job
Extremely well done sir! Makes my styrofoam diorama feel absolete... Thanks for yet another cool video.
Thanks a lot mate, really great to see you! hope the kids are well.
This is one of the most ingenious displays I've seen. I love it man.
I would be awesome if you did this with purple and black for the Bat Cave. Altogether another fantastic dio.
Helpful hint ,you can use foam covered with a thin coat of sheetrock patch plaster for the snow covered terrain .works really well especially if your doing a rocky terrain.
Hell yeah great idea, thanks a lot for the input
Super awesome display!! Great for kids, since you can easily make a few!! U should totally do that!! That way you have a giant interconnective display!! Also how easy would it be to make a batcave using this as an instructional video!! Thanx dude!!!
Thanks for watching and the kind comment, saludos to you too!
Thanks, and yes how awesome would that be haha, a hoth room! (with AC). I can't wait i hope you show it off Dan really appreciate it man
Nice work.Looks far cooler than the hoth playset they released
I love your videos. I have been a Star Wars fan for all my life, I too am a collector and I even have 3 Star Wars tattoos. Keep up the excellent work.
thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! You should share some of your collection with the star wars community on youtube!
Dude your so good at making these your action figures are so cool
For a budget Jedi you got some pretty cool & pricey pieces :)
My only concern is that the paper mache (using flour) might attract bugs over time (especially if it is displayed in one spot). An alternative would be Elmer's glue and the toilet paper. the glue is thicker and could possibly be watered down.. Great playset! You gave me a bunch of great ideas!
super super super cool cave keep doing more star wars dioramas
Thanks a lot haha Hasbro can do it even cheaper than i can, and can sell it for a lot more! that's why. appreciate you checkin in and thanks for the support
Next Halloween, be sure to buy a few skeleton toys for props around the Wampa.
Thanks a lot bud you're too kind. appreciate you watching
