Boom! The Barge! I know a ton of people are probably covering this with videos, but I wanted to do my own. I had a lot of fun shooting this one. The features are a lot of fun, and the details are pretty great. Definitely a showpiece for the collection. I hope you guys enjoy the video. Thanks for watching!!
It's awesome buddy just awesome. So one must be like a little kid again. Return of the Jedi is also one of my favourites, I also love the jabba the hut scenes. They have to be the best scenes in the movie. You must also be happy that they are releasing the skiff vehicle & the 3 pack skiff guards.

The Steed ..had i not been so cheap long long time ago..i would have bought it. Im just not used to spending so much on a toy. 300 was a lot on the Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull back in the days

the picture with your son next to the sail barge brought back memories when I was a kid getting the GI Joe Shuttle playset for XMas. There was lots of cool big playsets in he 80s. Those were some great times being a kid. Thx for the great review
Wish they did these to G.I. Joe playsets like 1983 Headquarters Commander Center, 1985 USS Flagg, 1986 Cobra Terror Drome and 1987 Defiant Shuttle Complex with a very small amount of minimal assembly required which most of it is already put together mostly that makes it easy for collectors.
@@jonhufford6980 It was right around $120 in 1985. I don't even wanna know the 34 year adjustment on that... I got one for Christmas in '86. As it was, the Flagg is honestly better suited for children than adult collectors. A collectors version, similar in quality with this Jabba's Sail Barge, would be sick!
A year later I’m still impressed by it. I took a picture of my 7 yr. old niece by it. & the box was bigger than her. But it’s mostly foam & cardboard. Hasbro boxed these. Good. It’s still big though. I would not want it any bigger. Especially for displaying.
My boyfriend and I bought one and we simply love it. The detail on it is amazing. The only thing we did to ours to make it a little more display friendly is we added interior lights to it, so you can see the inside better. Thanks for another great review. The Khetanna is the first Hasbro Playset made in the US, since the Defiant Shuttle Complex for Gi Joe in 1987, that was made in Rhode Island. Kind of cool that this was not made in China. They’re being produced or put together and hand airbrushed at HasLab Production Studio in Chino, Ca. Another special feature on the railings is the included Sail Barge Guns of 2007 Legacy Nikto and I think the 2013 Black Series Vizam fit into 4 thinner spots on the railings. 2 on each side. So you can potentially add 4 more guns on the railings.
great review its insane how amazing this toy is as collectors our players were answered. we now have one great playset from each vintage trilogy movies. i cant image how haslab will top this. i maybe crazy but a plastic sand base with a sarlac pit would be awsome for this
Wow I have to say that is pretty impressive. I couldn't ever see myself spending $500 for something like this, but I can definitely appreciate it. I don't collect new toys as an adult, but I do enjoy these videos. I also do have my childhood Star Wars toys on display in my living room's built in display case. So while I don't actively acquire new toys I do like having my vintage stuff out where I can see it.

The Barge is massive and I dont feel any pics can do it justice rather than having it in hand. It truly is a beast! I took mine outside and did some spur of the moment pics with it - it is even more gorgeous outside.

@@Marchosias_Rex It's only worth that if you can find the collector willing to pay that much. And the potential value of these things is based on LOTS of speculation. Who is to say these will be worth anything in the future once '80's toy nostalgia finally dies and the popularity of SW has greatly subsided. Heck, the value of the original vintage SW figures and toys have already dropped, and when you account for inflation, most of them have barely doubled in value. If you aren't buying these for your own enjoyment of toy collecting, then you are foolish. "Investing" in a toy collection is about as stupid as "investing" in the lottery.
It will be available soon to the rest of the world, but it looks like all will be shipped from the US...why Hasbro why it will cost 200 bucks for shipping and import duties will raise it another 200 bucks to a whopping 900 for the barge. They really should ship it from an office in the UK to Europeans and Australia or Hong Kong to Asia. Better yet, ship it straight from the factory. Can't wait to get one, but 500 or 900 that increase ia way too much.
Amazing set. I wasn’t able to back this Haslab - but was able to back the Razor Crest. As well as the sail barge was done makes me all the more excited for the Crest!

Here's hoping they make Bespin's City in the Clouds Playset, which was something else we never got for whatever reason from Kenner back in the day. At least not scaled to 3 & 3/4 inches.
@@whitetrashsuperhero39 - Not sure how that would work as a playset exactly. I can see more potential for a Cloud City / Bespin than a Sarlaac Pit. Also, a full Mos Eisley Cantina playset would be nice, or a larger scale Sandcrawler.
you def need to get some bags of play sand and some lumber, build a box and display that bad boy the right way! also gotta grab two of the smaller hover skiffs that accompany the sail barge. have the ever came out with a good sarlac pit? or is the one that was grabbing boba fett the only one?
I really don't know about this thing. The Hasbro I've known and loved made 3.75" figures and vehicles, not high-end 1:18th scale replicas, and even then I think it's still too small to be true to scale. This divide Hasbro has been making between toys for kids and "pieces" for collectors (where before, they were one and the same) has me uneasy about the future of the brand, and the direction the toy industry is going. No denying, this thing is cool and well made. $500 cool? Depends on who you ask. Me personally, I don't see the value at all. $500 is insane. As soon as I saw the price I never even CONSIDERED backing this thing, despite having literally EVERY single figure that could populate it. If it had lights and sounds I woulda been way more friendly towards it, make it feel more like a TOY. Well, anyways, great video Dan, I enjoyed taking a look at it regardless!

This is so cool. I can't tell you how many times I wished I had something like this as a kid. It's out of my price range, but I am glad that we finally got one.
Such a great playset. Still waiting till Europe gets a chance to buy these. I was planning on pre ordering it day 1 but no... It would've fitted so nicely next to my Falcon. I guess Jabba, Rotta and the rest of the gang just have to stay and the shelf for all eternity.
Star Wars partially made in the uk with some uk actors and this is only available to US residents. Only cost $1500+ if you live outside the uk. Looking at after sales it looks like a lot of people brought it so they could make a few dollars.
Just a production value tip... please set your camera to Manual Focus for your static wide shots in future. It will stop it from "hunting" for focus which results in a slight but frequent "zooming in -zooming out" effect. MTFBWY.
It is amazing , I missed out on getting this beauty when it first released. Well I had to get it on second market and it’s been over a year of release and I paid $1300 . Lessened learned , buy when it first comes out. I bought the Razorcrest from Haslab

Well I couldn't fork over the bread for this, so I bashed together a diorama for this scene using the Disney sandcrawler in place of the barge, the rancor in place of a sarlaac(they ever make it?) and for now my old Target skiff. It looks so Ruin Johnson but hey you make do with what you got, right?

Wow I think $500 is definitely the right price. Probably the most I would ever pay if I wanted something like this but this thing is huge and crazy detailed about as detailed as one of the bigger hot toys figures so that’s how I’m looking at it. I can’t even imagine what a Transformers or Marvel project would look like.
Beautiful piece if you have the space for it. I just bought a secondhand Legacy AT AT on Ebay, I'm waiting for it to arrive and I think that's big but this thing dwarfs it.
Does the popularity of Haslab's Crest mean it won't rise in value as much as the Sail Barge did which sold for $500 but is now going to over $1,500 on ebay? If the Crest is going to sell in the tens of thousands of units when the barge sold a third of that (I think), would it not be nearly as rare or sought after in the collectors market? And would the fact that it's from the new era of SW as opposed to the OT as the Barge was, also count against its value increase?

A giant Death Star is in the works
Back in 80 something I made my own sail barge and death star..it was a box. Love this playset but way out of my budget I'm sure.

Wow I think $500 is definitely the right price. Probably the most I would ever pay if I wanted something like this but this thing is huge and crazy detailed about as detailed as one of the bigger hot toys figures so that’s how I’m looking at it. I can’t even imagine what a Transformers or Marvel project would look like.
Beautiful piece if you have the space for it. I just bought a secondhand Legacy AT AT on Ebay, I'm waiting for it to arrive and I think that's big but this thing dwarfs it.
All it's lacking is an explosive feature. 💥

Does the popularity of Haslab's Crest mean it won't rise in value as much as the Sail Barge did which sold for $500 but is now going to over $1,500 on ebay? If the Crest is going to sell in the tens of thousands of units when the barge sold a third of that (I think), would it not be nearly as rare or sought after in the collectors market? And would the fact that it's from the new era of SW as opposed to the OT as the Barge was, also count against its value increase?

Haven't seen anyone notice that the deck gun lever that Luke kicks to fire it actually pivots slightly.
@@soupio7749.. Are you referring to the platform with the footpegs on it? Thats the only thing that moves on my gun. (Other than the whole thing swiveling, of course.)
I was wrong, it's just soft plastic that moves but not on a pivot point. The tiny lever on the right hand side of the back of the canon.

The autofocus moving in and out constantly is really distracting.
What size figures go with this? Standard 3.5 in or Star Wars Black 6 in?
