- Tools needed:
Midwest snips: amzn.to/3rB99A9
Dewalt Screwgun: amzn.to/3d05HLs
The top joinery of both valleys when they meet on the same plane of roof is shown here. I have my valley custom made with water trough to help with leaking but all techniques shown can be applied to any metal valley applications. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
You literally just showed everyone what not to do!
Nice work, please kill the music it is very hard to hear the commentary sometimes. Thanks for the help
Nice work. Ive watched a half dozen of videos on this and everyone does it different. Crazy
Point is to keep it from leaking... No right way.
Come on bro that valley is all Narfed up. Leak Fo Show.
English translation? Narf?
Fo show?? For a show?? Concert
@@generaluser4145 Fo Sho = For Sure
>Leak For Sure
Thanks! We're doing this tomorrow.
Every other video I've seen on this is eager to show the method of cutting around the facia/gutter side (which a 6th grader can do), but avoids the more complicated method of overlapping the flashing at the top. Most of them won't even point the camera in that direction!
I swear man any freaking snips are a pain in the ass to cut through any roof metal lol!
Good job amigo gracias por subir el video
What's the purpose of the music right in the middle of the video that makes the person talking harder to hear?
The whole thing will be covered with ridge cap, So why not cut and bend valley flashing up making tray at both ends of the valley. Cover both ends with rubberized membrane about 3-4 inches that 1 1/2 is in the bottom it climbs up the tray end that's bent up then wrap down and under use 6-8 inch strip that sealing each end both ends together. This whole seam will be covered by the ridge cap.
Exactamente!
Nice but would like to have seen how you do the ridge cap also
How many strips do you have under that valley? Just 1 along the outside or do you also run a stip on both side of the middle?
I only use one on the outside because of the dip in the middle.
26 g. Metal todo bien pero porque no remover los shingles y poner new felt paper el papel es la garantía que no filtrara agua en 10 años oh no ay garantía pero si buen trabajo. Aquí en Virginia no te permite la ciudad aser eso así
Nice job. Them valley pans seem like a nightmare to work with.
I use a shingle shear hooked up to the impact gun. Always keeping the movable jaw on the opposite side of the excess metal. Keeping a nice straight cut.
Valley pans are super easy. Metal roofing is simple. Not as hard as it looks. You get the hang of it quick but you have to have quality work.
@@karuchi8910, you're right metal is easy. That's what im always trying to tell the guys i work with. I just hate using pans like that. We use the plain valley pans. Its a lot easier.
Whats the best way to cut and install Garland metal system?
I use hand snips to make most cuts on all of my metal roofing installations, especially trim details. I do use powered shears for long rip cuts. I would never use a saw to cut panels. The proper way to cut sheet metal is to shear it.
I'm not familiar with Garland's system but I install standing seam metal roofing and cutting/shearing the metal, the basics applies for all. Installation techniques would be a good video. Maybe my next standing seam roof, I will be able to produce a how to video.
Eres mi campeon
Need to learn how to do detail work you have a good idea but need more training
Facts. Not beating him up but you're dead right. I've trained a unch of guys. This man is no slouch. But short of a trim specialist!
Thanks :) But the background music was hell.
Huh I wonder why my roof leaks
I. Am a contractor and do a lot of metal .I have asked my self more than once what the need for that pain in but v in valley
That is to keep water from rushing up the other pitch of the roof.
How do you insulate a shed floor?
You build it directly on the ground wrapping it in plastic
Es lámina de papel quisiera que tratara calibre 22 o ya de pérdida 24
26 gauge trim on this job
I recommend buying a metal ruler that spans more than 18". Better than using a square to draw lines if your line needs to go far lol
man i realized that riht off the hop - hes fucked from the beginning as soon as he tries to start eyeing out straight lines....
Has this dude ever been on a roof before?!? Lmfaoo!
Wtf. Ridge cap covers all this. That silicone though lol.
I hope that isn’t in New England
I would not ever install a metal roof over shingles without at least applying an approved synthetic felt, regardless of the furring strips,it helps with condensation and also a proper way.
Best if you remove shingles and not the lazy way cover up roofing method.
Is actually isnt "the lazy way". It actually helps reduce the cost in labor and not to mention it increases your insulation when it comes to the heat or cold from the weather/sun.
Also if you want to be green it reduces waste.@@alphagamingdad2423
8:59 thaTS WAT SHE SAID !!! roflmao
Every home insurance requiere remove the shingles before install a roof metal is good!
Can you remake video without that dam music
5:31 fail... lol think asphalt shingles are way quicker and more sure..and safer..bit more heAVY tho
I personally like shingling. But metal roofing is way quicker. When theese guys are showing you theese videos they are breaking it down to you. When your working and got all your boards laid down and your drip edge on its smooth sailing from there.
Cut the music so we can here his voice..
Gonna leak.
That bottom part of this cut he made will leak indeed
Not if you grab a tube of sikaflex or NP-1
Us flat roofers can fix anything with a handful of putty.
The bottom portion will be covered with ridge cap.
It won't leak. No other way to do it. I did one in 2002 at my guest house & it still doesn't leak. This guy showed me how I did it back then. It's a hassle tho.
If you looking for offset snips go with mid-west. You will never go back to other brands and that’s a promise
Facts
After over 30 years roofing. And doing repairs on darn near every type of system.
You can be sure of one thing. Everyone makes a mistake in roofing. Everyone.
1. Shingles bad cut in the valley
2. Metal not using proper sealant. Pop rivet or screw head washer. Bad detai.
3. Single ply. Cleaning laps.
4. Tile. Who needs nails after the first course . Or just use a board not water channels need cut into it.
5. Slate they will never see the crack.
6. Flat. Grab a glove full of putty and seal it up for the weekend.
Now I see in Europe they install fiberglass roofs.
I was watching a yt one day.
A foreman is told work these new hires. Teach them.
Hell they can not even speak English. Or put a battery in a screw gun
I’m retired you are all doomed. Doomed doomed.
Get back to work you have had enough water breaks today.
Hurry up guys . It’s time to roll it up for the day. Have a good weekend and try to be on time Monday at 4:am It’s going to be 99 for the high on Monday 88 at 7 am.
And we have a pitch and fiberglass tear off to do .
Does this all sound familiar
Get off my lawn!
looks like alot of pissing around
Hack 101
Butchers..never would do any of this, this way
This is the worst valley install I've ever seen.. you have a huge at the bottom of the valley.. and it took that long?? You won't make out here in California with this hack bullshit.comin from a sheet metal/ metal roofer!
You do a video then, seriously.
Never trust an installer who works in shorts and slip ons! Unprofessional
Should I have wore a suit and tie?
Building with NARF - no but some soft work shoes/boots and long pants shows your serious about your profession and not just some dumb hack.
You took forever cutting that valley
@@martinjvillasenor773 you hire roofers that wear pants?! Lol
The guy is out there doing the grind I sometimes wore shorts on hot days.
When someone puts metal over shingles the party is over. I stop watching
Wrong!
