May I recommend two new tests for the mopping of the robots that you can add on? A edge test, and the grout test? Edge would be like dried stain on the edge of the floor where it meets the wall. Grout test is for tiles floor to see after a long period of time of using the robot to mop the floor, did the robot leave any built up dirt on the grout? This is great. You could slice and dice this stuff so many ways so it's helpful to know how you did the tests. I could suggest one run of the flagships where you dial up each to their highest capabilities, basically giving them their best chance and see if anything changes, so allowing the use of cleaning solution etc. to see how they are in real world use not just benchmark uniform configs which while helpful may not be as accurate for how they get used. I would be interested to know which flagships can actually detect the dirt in your test and do re-mopping runs, that might be helpful to know. Or doing a run of all the flagships on their auto settings and see how that plays out.
Now I'd love for a mid and budget tier pick for options. I was not surprised that the Q5 pro was bad, that was the main reason I never wanted a cheap robot vacuum with a mop. Now it appears $1200+ usd, looking at your tests and others reviews will get you a nice robot vacuum mop combo.
You are so right about the amazing progress that robot vacuum/mops have made over the last few years and how the appearance of docks that can do pretty much all of the mop maintenance for you is a game changer but for me there's one other factor. Now I realise that not everyone will have water and drainage in a place that is convenient for where they want to position (ideally hide) their base station but I'm lucky that I do so for me a mandatory requirement now for and future robot vacuum/mop I might get is that it has the option of a fully plumbed-in dock. I've been using a Eufy X10 for a while and I love it (enough to be about to relocate it to my holiday home) but in my main home where I'm using it right now I find it frustrating when I get an alert that there wasn't enough water in the tank for it to do its daily run and I have the dock hidden away quite well which, while it makes my home look less cluttered, it does make it a bit tedious to get to the water tanks every 4th day. I've just had a Dreame X40 Master delivered and will be transitioning to that in the next few days. While it was disappointing to see the X40 performing really rather poorly in these latest mopping tests I'm not too concerned since my home is mostly carpet and I suspect the X40 mopping will be good enough for the level of dirt my hard floors pick up (which is very little). As long as its mopping performance is as good as my Eufy X10 I'll be happy and anything extra will be a bonus.
I have the Eufy Omni S1 Pro, and I have to say that it does an amazing job. While it doesn’t always pick up cat hair that is pressed into my short pile rugs, the mop and hardwood cleaning are so great! My floor looks new every day.
Imo I would like to see a lot more attention being put to corner and edge vacuuming and mopping. Since we're seeing some swiveling mops and side brushes being more common I would very much like to see that as part of the score. Since something that can clean the whole floor moderately is a lot better imo than something that can only clean the middle, albeit perfectly
@@nanobot5365 uhm. Do you know about the existence of dust? It will settle evenly across the whole floor. So if the vacuum doesn't go all the way to the edges and corners it will get nasty over time. And I don't know about you, but I have plenty of floor that is exposed by walls and corners. So if you have a pet you can bet they can make those places dirty too
@@DraconicBovineI ment just mopping not vacuuming I have nothing against extending sidebrushes but extending mops are just silly. I know that dust particles can fly into the corners but you can just vacuum them up. You don't have to mopp the edges. It just adds extra costs and mechanical parts that can break
@@nanobot5365 imo it's still a very important metric to capture. If swiveling mops can capture dirt that non-swiveling one's can't then the score will be incomplete. Which is why I'm arguing that it should be tested as well. Since they stated in this video that their previous tests weren't good enough because they could not differentiate between the top performers. As time goes you will see the same thing play out again regarding edges and corners, which is likely the next battle ground for robot vacuums
I got the Roborock Qrevo MaxV and it is for me simply perfect, ok it cannot clean the edges 100% but wo cares if this is the only issue? It is saving me a lot of time and this is the most and important part, you gain life back by investing your money a win win for your life, remember, you can always earn more money but you cannot get more lifetime.
Its important to highlight that re-testing vacuums is also a great way of showing any which may have improved through software updates since their initial evaluations.
Just pulled the trigger on the T30S. It's on sale for 599 which is significantly less than the other models in the top 5. Thanks for helping me make that decision! I had been eying it for a few weeks at that price.
Would love to see a questionnaire on your website to narrow down the best vacuum for specific needs! Like I’m looking for a fully self cleaning robot vacuum and mop, that removes tangled hair, for the lowest cost. I’m leaning towards the Eufy X10 Pro based on what I’m seeing in your videos and website.
I have a Roborock QRevothat I got last year upon watching one of your videos and I love it I think it works great, I don’t have any particular test other than my kitchen floor always looks clean. All of my current vacuums except two have come from your recommendations and the ones that haven’t were before I started watching your videos, only one that you did a video on that I’ve never really liked is the Tineco pure one s12
would be great to have a dock comparison review as well. my last vacuum robot had a fully functional cleaning and mopping base but it was below average for me (not detachable base, water left at the bottom, autoclean at the end messing things up).. one thing is to have a feature, another is to test it, like we don't just trust suction power as a number..
Such a great channel, thank you. So many channels just publish random ass videos about one or two robots that are an absolute waste of time to watch, like Leonard from community reviewing frozen pizza. Meanwhile, your content is gold. Thank you.
This is a great explanation of the new methodology! In future reviews, I hope you'll consider taking privacy into account. One of the reasons I would prefer a Eufy S1 Pro Omni over the technical top scorer is that it has independent data privacy certification, whereas most other robovacs don't address it at all
Very good point! I too appreciate the privacy score. I assumed many of the Chinese companies absolutely sell my floor plan without a doubt. As the Chinese government requires them to disclose all data.
My L10S Ultra just went out on me won't vacuum after a year. I could buy the X30 Ultra for $690 with 2yr warranty refurbished from Dreame on Ebay, or the Qrevo Master for $850 new from them direct (1 year warranty) Would you say the $160 extra is worth payiung for the Qrevo Master? Hoping this one lasts me longer than a year!
I appreciate you updating your mopping test and taking a second look. I feel like this video could could have been longer though and should have also covered the vacuum part of each. All that being said, it’s odd that the Dreame X40 was the best one out there a few months ago when it released, and now it’s not even on this list???
You helped us pick out the i7+ a few years ago and while it still works, we're in the market for a mop, now that it seems like they're getting to the point they are worth it. Thanks for keeping this channel rockin'!
My family prefers the spinning disc style as they clean our hardwood floors better. The vibrating pads don't get inside the grooves and devits as well, if at all, leaving puddles or dry spots where it's missed. This is more attributed to the thicker microfiber pads.
Wow, what an insightful and exciting exploration into the world of robot vacuum mop combos! I never imagined a simple appliance could bring so much innovation and convenience into our homes. It’s incredible how these machines are evolving, making our lives easier while tackling those stubborn stains! However, I can’t help but wonder: will we ever reach a point where these robots can flawlessly manage all cleaning tasks? What happens to the traditional methods we grew up with? The emotional connection we have with cleaning our spaces can't be replicated, can it? Thank you for shedding light on this transformative journey! I’m eager to see how these technologies will continue to change our daily lives.
Absolutely love your channel! I've got a Narwal Freo X Ultra, and it's exceeded my expectations. My floors are always so clean when I get home. The new Freo Z looks like it has more cool features. I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading, though. Looking forwad to see your review of the Freo Z! Thx!!!
It's still on our Best Robot Vacuum list - vacuumwars.com/best-vacuum-cleaners/robot-vacuums/ - it just was outperformed in the mopping evaluations we performed here.
Same, I came from S7 maxv plus ultra or whatever, and the x40 blows it out of the water. Unsure why older gen bots are out performing better in his test, both for roborock and dreame, he needs to dive into that ASAP
Could this because of the newer models equip with dirt detection at the station, and its being programmed to conserve water by default? It would rather to re-mop the specific area with dirt detected, instead of being generous with water use on its entire mopping schedule
For the Eufy, what happens if it’s vacuuming/mopping and it comes across a wet spill? Since the wet roller is behind the dry vacuum bar, does it suck the liquid into the vacuum roller? Or if not how does it manage to avoid sucking up wet or damp food bits into the dry vacuum intake?
It'd be really cool if you'd released the behind the scene videos of these robots doing the mopping. I am sure a lot of people would be willing to watch those as well. Thanks for the video!
@@VacuumWars Why not? Roomba is probably the most recognized and used name brand in the US for these types of things. This whole video is pointless if you dont include iRobot products.
The Curv is our #1 Robot Vacuum right now! We have finished our tests are working on the video review, but we just announced the update here: vacuumwars.com/vacuum-wars-updates-top-20-robot-vacuums/
Hmm... I highly suggest that you should add a after test- after the entire test, getting a clean paper towel, wiped the floor and see how dirty the paper towel becomes. Ultimately, if the mop simply spread out the stain, eventually the spread-out stain simply end up on our socks. But you can't really see that on your test because the spread-out stain is such a thin layer.
I don't agree with your rule that you turn off all mop features including the one to do multiple passes on dirty areas. That doesn't really make sense. The feature in itself will help it to clean better on the first run. Effectively the mop is being penalised because it's added feature is not being utilised.
I like that the mop tests are eveloving but I agree that the testing method is not what I would have done (and that's fine too). Personally, I think it's odd to turn off features (not a real world situation), they washed and wrung out the pads for mops that can't clean themselves (not likely to happen in the real world), and they don't use solutions even if it's part of the system (not a real world situation). I also think the scoring if weighted very high towards moping but I'm sure there will be some household that feel a torture mop test is important. No testing method will please everyone :)
Thank you for having an interest in the switch bot. Its not something I want personally but they have such big claims that I really wanted to see if it lived up to its marketing. It so far looks to be doing quite bad from what I can tell so I'm glad I didn't have my heart set on it. For now I just have a Narwal T10 and a roomba J7+ which I think is a perfect combo until a good combo mop bot reaches the 700-800 dollar price point.
@VacuumWars I would like to see mopping performance on slightly oily surface which mimic the kitchen floor. As many of the recent release models are capable with hot wash mop pad, this feature suppose to be shine on clean up oily surface.
Great video! I so want to get one of these, but next years models where they can climb much higher also would be great. Any guesses why Dreame x40 did so much worse than L20?
I think a metric you should add into the mop testing is how much pressure the mop system applies to the ground as well as how uniform that pressure is compared to the shape. That could better define the performance difference.
Aamzing video!Love it! I've been also watching some other reviews, and I'm thinking about getting a Narwal robot vacuum. But I can't decide between the Freo X and the Freo Z. Any advice?
One thing I never see tested is how well the robots cope with floor-to-ceiling glass doors (eg. sliding patio doors or bi-folds). My Ecovacs gets totally confused by them and is unable to initially map a room unless I block the glass with cardboard. Even then it often doesn't recognise a room because of the effect of the glass.
Another great video! I know you have experience with pets and I was wondering if you have thoughts about hairballs and cat vomit with a robot? Especially if I want to run it on a schedule. I have loads of hard wood and a small rug but two very furry boys. I always use your recs!
We have just added Pet Rating scores, which addresses pet hair, to our Best Robot Vacuums list right here: vacuumwars.com/best-vacuum-cleaners/robot-vacuums/ Our video about this should be coming soon. Thank you for asking about it.
You should add a "best for hair(pet or otherwise)" category to the website, because I believe this is one of the areas where even expensive robot vacuums still fall down, and it's hard to tell which have the best combination of features and performance. Dust bin size, effectiveness of auto empty on hair filled dust bins, and how often(if at all) axle/brush maintenance is required are all factors. Personally think this is more important than obstacle avoidance.
Thank you for your hard work! I was really surprised to see how poorly the Switchbot S10's mopping performed in your review. In my experience, I have both the Switchbot S10 and Roborock S7, and the S10 has consistently done a much better job mopping. However, I haven't conducted an extreme side-by-side test like you have. Have you applied all the firmware updates for the S10?
I have SwitchBot S10 as well and does a much better job than my old roborock s6 , I also have it on last firmware and use “dampen mop” feature that empties and refills the robot with fresh water and dampens the roller mop before doing the task. Also the new firmware updates allows more water to be used (at first the water used was too little even at max setting). I think that no robot will ever be perfect and in no time the “best” will become the second best because in this space innovation in the last years proves it. I like the Narwal new robot for obstacle avoidance and the anti tangle brush design, the SwitchBot and Eufy for roller mop, the Roborock for its app and integration with smart homes, the SwitchBot for the easy connectivity to plumbing ( I also saw that other brands added stations for this as well). So yeah, competition is good, maybe more and more will be possible in the future.
looking forward to a test on the new narwal freo z ultra, it's supposed to sense how dirty the stains are and go back and forth to the docking station to clean the mop and change the water until the stain is gone, does that count as one round or more?
Would be nice if you could wipe the floor after with a paper towel to see what is left behind after the mops finish the job, hopefully you can do that next time.
@@fookoff8660Not the S1 Pro since its mop roller constantly cleans itself. I’ve tested it myself on my own floors with fresh spilled juice, beer, and dried coffee. It leaves absolutely nothing behind.
@Brendon471 i meant like, if youve dirtier than usual floor youd still have to deep cleaN it yourself before a robot can do it. were talking about subjective amhent here but for example, my dogs brought in a lot of mud onto my porcelain tile floors, and no robot will be able to squeaky clean it unless many runs. @@fookoff8660I’m telling you the S1 can as I’ve used it for exactly that purpose and it performed flawlessly with two crazy puppies going in and out frequently. My previous Q Revo could not handle this at all and the floors would feel noticeably dirty when barefoot. The S1, however, gets it all with a double pass and it’s as simple as telling Siri “clean the kitchen and living room twice” (those are the rooms the pups go through the most). 20 minutes later the floors are spotless. Since something that can clean the whole floor moderately is a lot better imo than something that can only clean the middle, albeit perfectly
Bro you define the middle of the room as everything except the last few centimetres to the wall... thats just stupid. You dont even use that space.
As time goes you will see the same thing play out again regarding edges and corners, which is likely the next battle ground for robot vacuums
that opening shot was a big flex, jealous of that collection
This is the exact video I needed to buy a new vacuum. Thank you!!❤
Awesome, glad you found it helpful!
Would be really useful if you could publish all of the scores on the website so people can decide which attributes are most important to them.
Agreed!
You helped us pick out the i7+ a few years ago and while it still works, we're in the market for a mop, now that it seems like they're getting to the point they are worth it. Thanks for keeping this channel rockin'!
You are doing Gods work. Love your work and thank you so so so so much!!! I thoroughly enjoy all your videos all the time ❤️💖😎🫶
Thank you for the kind words!
Massive respect for the time and effort you put into these tests and videos.
My family prefers the spinning disc style as they clean our hardwood floors better. The vibrating pads don't get inside the grooves and devits as well, if at all, leaving puddles or dry spots where it's missed. This is more attributed to the thicker microfiber pads.
try the roller brush system
Thx!!!
This channel is a life saver
Awesome. So glad you find it helpful.
I bought the s8 maxv ultra and it does the job quite well. never been cleaner around the house.
Glad to hear it!
X40 ultra? Did you use the max clean pad on full power? Weird. X40 in my testing did everything well
It's still on our Best Robot Vacuum list - vacuumwars.com/best-vacuum-cleaners/robot-vacuums/ - it just was outperformed in the mopping evaluations we performed here.
Most likely he’s on the bad firmware.
I love this. Well done in all your testing. Great work!
Thanks!
If I'm not mistaken, it shuts off the vacuum and side spin brush when those are detected. There are videos on it.
Thanks for the reviews! Very helpful. Have you found any robot wet dry mops for commercial settings?
We evaluate for household use.
It'd be really cool if you'd released the behind the scene videos of these robots doing the mopping. I am sure a lot of people would be willing to watch those as well. Thanks for the video!
Cool idea. Thanks!
Will you be testing the Roomba Combo 10 Max?
It's not in the works right now but thanks for letting us know you'd be interested to see that.
@@VacuumWars Why not? Roomba is probably the most recognized and used name brand in the US for these types of things. This whole video is pointless if you dont include iRobot products.
Our review of the Roomba Combo 10 Max is up now!
Could we get a test comparing qrevo edge and curve to the qrevo master ?
The Curv is our #1 Robot Vacuum right now! We have finished our tests are working on the video review, but we just announced the update here: vacuumwars.com/vacuum-wars-updates-top-20-robot-vacuums/
Hmm... I highly suggest that you should add a after test- after the entire test, getting a clean paper towel, wiped the floor and see how dirty the paper towel becomes. Ultimately, if the mop simply spread out the stain, eventually the spread-out stain simply end up on our socks. But you can't really see that on your test because the spread-out stain is such a thin layer.
Still think they need UVC for disinfecting, and the bases should double as air purifiers.
What about the new shark power detect 2in1? With the dropping pad?
Thanks
So much value in such concise straight to the point time! Quality content - thank you!
Glad to hear it! Thanks!
How did the iRobots perform?
Thank you for having an interest in the switch bot. Its not something I want personally but they have such big claims that I really wanted to see if it lived up to its marketing. It so far looks to be doing quite bad from what I can tell so I'm glad I didn't have my heart set on it.
For now I just have a Narwal T10 and a roomba J7+ which I think is a perfect combo until a good combo mop bot reaches the 700-800 dollar price point.
0:33 I see you tested the Samsung Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI. What score did it get?
@VacuumWars
I would like to see mopping performance on slightly oily surface which mimic the kitchen floor. As many of the recent release models are capable with hot wash mop pad, this feature suppose to be shine on clean up oily surface.
What do you think of the amount of side brushes?
What about detergent costs and sourcing? Do these new robot vacuum companies require you to buy their own detergents?
Thanks for your review. I was hoping to see videos of each test and make my own assessment from that
Would you consider testing eureka j20 vs eufy omni s1 pro ?
We can't make any promises but thank you for that suggestion. That really helps.
Great video! I so want to get one of these, but next years models where they can climb much higher also would be great.
Any guesses why Dreame x40 did so much worse than L20?
Do these also mop the corners well?
I love this kind of video! It would be great if you could make a top list of the best budget robot & mop vacuums
I think a metric you should add into the mop testing is how much pressure the mop system applies to the ground as well as how uniform that pressure is compared to the shape. That could better define the performance difference.
I’m not sure the pressure is relevant for such a test, if a robot apply less pressure but clean better it would not be fair to give it less points
Robot can only apply as much pressure as its own weight
@@sparkpaul There could be designs where the front of the robot is heavy and the pads don't get very much pressure.
Aamzing video!Love it! I've been also watching some other reviews, and I'm thinking about getting a Narwal robot vacuum. But I can't decide between the Freo X and the Freo Z. Any advice?
The Freo Z is not available in the US yet so we haven't tried it. It sure looks promising!
Can you add a bagless top 10 on the website?
Thank you for sharing.
It's crazy how you don't have more subscribers. I love your content and how you put so much effort into every video. Great work as always!
Thank you very much!
Where can we see the list of each robot tested and how it performed. I am just seeing links to the top results
We have, but thank you for speaking up here. Glad you have had a good experience with your Switchbot!
One vac I didn’t see was the Eufy X10 Pro Omni. Why was that excluded?
I also want to know about that
would you consider testing the 3i S10 Ultra
We can't make any promises right now, but we'll see! It isn't available yet.
looking forward to a test on the new narwal freo z ultra, it's supposed to sense how dirty the stains are and go back and forth to the docking station to clean the mop and change the water until the stain is gone, does that count as one round or more?
Lovely video! I'd say my narwal freo x mopping is impressive. love my robot vacuum.
Thanks! Glad to hear you are happy with your Narwal!
This is hard to test for sure. There is groved flooring too. Plus auto detection to try again.
How effective are these robots at navigating across door thresholds?
Can we get the mop test done for top cordless vacuums? (Ex Dyson submariner)
How is the perfomance affected when the docking stations are put between furniture or in a laundry or built in cupboard?
Would be nice if you could wipe the floor after with a paper towel to see what is left behind after the mops finish the job, hopefully you can do that next time.
They dont clean like that at all. They always leave small layer of.filth
@@fookoff8660Not the S1 Pro since its mop roller constantly cleans itself. I’ve tested it myself on my own floors with fresh spilled juice, beer, and dried coffee. It leaves absolutely nothing behind.
What do you think about duo Rollers? Many of the new ones have only one
But this is probably not a normal amount of mud
It really is that good.
Snazzy labs recently sponsored robot vacuum comment section getting flamed brought me here due to a recommendation post.
I’ve been looking to buy a combo vac for myself this holiday so I’m happening you posted this!
We hope it helps!
Please test dreame l10s mop performance. It is extremely popular and gets new models (gen 2, ultra heat, etc.) all the time just like the q revo line from roborock.
The Robot vacuum is so cool 😍 I think I need it.
Will be interesting to see how the Dyson Wash G1 compares in this new test.
We are still keeping an eye out for its US release!
Thank you for the content! I would really appreciate if you can also add the warranty and trial and return company policy information. This is just to know how well the companies back their products when they go faulty over time
What happened to the Dreame X40 Ultra?
Nice review! Thank you! What about the Mova S20 Ultra? And compared to a Dreame l10s Pro ultra? In italy the mova is 100 euros cheaper and they look pretty much similar apart for the mopping technology..
i wonder if (or how well) any robot can handle wet messes (like thick / thin liquid spills - milk, sauce or cat wet food)?
Is there anywhere we can see the scores for all the vacuums in this test?
Please review the Switchbot S10
no irobot roomba?
did you test the narwal freo z ultra too?

Hi, which one is the Best Robot Vacuum Mop Combos for full house carpet flooring? Full carpet except for kitchen and bathroom.
Live to know which is best without a big base station and the height of the machines.
Any thoughts on best one for mopping LVP floors.
Seems like software updates play a MAJOR part in performance which means as time goes, it will no longer be a hardware race but a software race. Similar to phones, cars, and most products.
