Hi! This has probably been addressed but .. why dont the top# videos never feature irobot products. Are they not being reviewed? Love the videos, keep up the good work!!
You need a robot “vacuum only” category because honestly if you go for mopping you really need to invest in good mopping and that creates a huge difference in price.
Exactly my thought, he needs to do a video where he filters out or removes mopping as an input to the score, then shows what the best robot vacuums are. Or just a ranking of robot vacuums that don't have mopping functional.
I gotta say. This looks the MOST time invested review i have ever seeing in my life and i really REALLY appreciate your effort on doing so. I wish anybody like you makes this kind of reviews in all “kinks” they way you did with just passion. I LOVE YOU and my OCD will thank you as one of it’s top reviewers.
I watched a lot of your vids while wanting a robot vacuum which is nice. I don't know why, but I'm still watching it now, 2 weeks after buying one. It's kinda addictive.
A link to the excel sheet would be greaty appreciated. For example, I do not need animal hair pickup - so I would like to score the vaccums based only on a few criteria. Thanks so much for all this help. Was really helpful to narrow down to a few good ones in this sea of robovacs
i doubt he would release that, thats years of data he's collected that other people could easily steal. I think something more realistic is he could make on his website a "Top 10" list that have more specific criteria like "if you don't care about pet hair here's the top 10" something like that.

Thank you for going through all this arduous work to test these for us consumers and those wanting honest reviews that are not based on sponsorship. It was a lot of work, I'm sure.
Not being sponsored doesn’t mean they don’t get incentivised heavily. If they published the monetary returns they receive I would be a lot more trusting.
How long before new homes are designed with the expectation there will be a robot vacuum. Some kind of “garage” where it lives hooked up to water and sewer so we have a truly hands off system.
I really wish I had designed a place for mine. Kids want to mess with it or leave toys around the dock, having it tucked away somewhere with two ways to get out would be nice. The auto empty bin is loud and sometimes smells, having that tucked away would be nice. Maybe a future laundry room will have the bottom of the door cut off
I bought the Dreame L40 Ultra just a day before you published this video, after spending two days watching TH-cam reviews to find one within my budget. This morning, I saw your video and got a bit nervous, thinking the Dreame might score poorly-but all is good! I love your videos! Also, as others have suggested in the comments, it’d be amazing if you created a dynamic top 20 vacuums list with filters to choose the features and categories that matter most, while excluding those you don’t need. That would be super helpful!
The next gen Roborock model G20S Ultra which will release as Saros 10R is a combination of Slim (#2) and Curv (#1). Besides being a combo of both it has an upgraded dock station and more. Looking forward to its introduction at CES!
If you're not going to release the Excel spreadsheet could you do more videos or lists on "filtered" subsets? Like the best non-mopping robot vacuums by price point. Your rankings are all based on mopping as a factor and we know to get good mopping raises of price a lot.
Lovely video! Thank for sharing and continuously testing! Will there ever be a category top privacy, for the best robotvac without a camera or mic built in?
Every robot I have bought in the past several years, all the way back to my first one (Neato XV series) has been from recommendations from this channel. Absolutely right on the money with all your reviews. Thank you!
I agree. The Yeedi may have more suction but it is way worse at obstacle avoidance. For $459 the Qrevo S is a better value than the Yeedi. What makes the X10 a standout is it performs like a robot that costs twice as much.
I had the same question! The X10 Pro Omni ranked higher and is the same price as the Yeedi M12 Pro+. I got mine because it was the highest-rated option under $500~600-anything more than that isn’t worth it for me either.
There are a lot of houses with soft resin flooring like PU floors. So a test of any kinds of a trail, scratch, damage would be appreciated. Especially trails since it runs the same pattern over and over. Also a non mopping list/review pls
Have you considered using finer test dust that is more like normal household dust? From some tests I've seen, certain robot vacuums struggle with this when larger particles are no problem, especially on carpet tests.
RIP my Roborock S5 which battery started giving up (dies at ~40% charge) after 5 years and 1084h runtime (2334 cleanups). This video helps a lot looking for a worthy replacement, but I'm still not sold on the mopping system every robot has these days. I feel like mopping doesn't make much difference and I would rarely use it.

Roborock states that this vacuum has 18,500 pa suction but neither you video nor your website comments on this. is there any reason you have left this out?
If you want a nice test for the vacuum part, text with gipsum dust. It simulates the fine dust we actually all have at home, but is not that visible. If a vacuum can handle it, it is a damn good one!
Exactly, I don't get it how L40 can be better than X40. Their basically the same models, with few extras in X40, so X40 should have had a better results.
Seems like if you want the best for navigation you have to also get one that mops. Kind of useless for me when my kitchen is the only place I would need mopping so basically 10% of the house. Also what are your thoughts about all these newcomers and whether they will last, Yeedi, Dreame, Narwal, ect. Currently facing a similar issue where my Neato vacuum that you recommended way back when you were sub 1k subscribers is basically EOL as a company and leaves me unsure with if I'll be able to get parts in the future. Makes me lean towards the roborock vacuums as they have been a stable thing over the years. Also kind of sad that iRobot the founder of this category doesn't have anything worth showing for.
Maybe i'm looking at the wrong vacuum but from what i see the budget Vacuum still goes to the Eufy L60. The N20 is sitting at $400 on sale, while the L60 is at $279. The $400-$500+ price point sits more to Mid-Range pricing in my opinion.
Why is the Dreame L40 rated higher than the X40 on your list when the X40 has stronger features like suction power, dual laser sensor and hotter water temp?
I thought the same thing. I had a look at the web site and looked at the X40 and L40 scores and full reviews side by side and there seem to be some strange things there. For instance The L40 gets a score of 4.6 for navigation vs the X40 getting a very low 3.7 but reading the writeups in the full reviews I really couldn't work out why the X40 had been scored so low. Also, on the full X40 review the mopping performance is described as "awe-inspiring ... visibly outperformed the Roborock S8 Max V Ultra". That was done using the old mopping test protocol but on the L40 review where it looks as if they retested the X40 using the new test protocol so they could include the X40 score in the "dried on mopping test" comparison chart the L40 scored 119 vs the X40 only scoring 72 which is way below the overall average robot test score of 103. I have trouble understanding how the X40 could go from "awe-inspiring" on the old test protocol to way below average on the retest unless there was some issue with the X40 or its setup or some other anomaly. Disclaimer: lots of self-justification going on in the above, I'm about to set up my new X40 Ultra later today. I've plumbed in the auto-fill/empty slimline dock so I need to charge it, connect it to WiFi and do a mapping run next.
@zoide-777 Unfortunately I can’t really answer that yet. I bought it for my main home to replace my Eufy X10 but I spend about 4 months a year at my holiday home to escape the UK winter. I’ve been impressed with the Eufy X10 especially for the price so my plan was always to install the Dreame X40 in my main home and then take my Eufy out to my holiday home. Unfortunately I got quite busy in the UK so I only got round to setting up my Dreame a couple of days before I left and did a couple of cleaning runs to check it works. My only observations so far is that it does work although my first run with Clean Genius was not good. It misrecognised some areas of carpeted rooms as being hard floors so it only partially vacuumed those rooms then went back to the dock to get its mopping pads to presumably go back and mop the bits of the carpeted rooms that it had ignored (I aborted the cleaning task before it could actually start mopping!). The fix for my next test was pretty simple, don’t use Clean Genius but instead set up custom cleaning where I’ve explicitly specified what it should do for each room and that worked better but I’m afraid that after only 2 cleaning runs I don’t think I have a particularly useful opinion on it yet. Sorry that I can’t be more helpful at this time. It’s going to be June next year before I’ve set up a schedule and had it doing daily cleaning runs for a month or so at which point I think I will have a valid opinion.
One thing I would love if you would add to your obstacle avoidance tests is wet-mess obstacles. I've had one of my cats throw up a little puddle of puke on my hardwood floor, and my vacuum happily drove right into that and made an unholy mess.
You also need to test how they performe without internet access, for us who cares about privacy and prefer it doesn't send images to the cloud all the time.
Are there any actual differences between x40 and l40? X40 is better avoidance, but the rest of the hardware is identical. X40 is actually cheaper at the moment on Amazon...Wouldn't that put it in the top 5 if they are the same? Just a bit confused on revised scoring, etc.
What I would really like is to know which vacuums require internet access and/or subscriptions. Every smart device in my house is on a closed-network or doesn't require wifi/network at all and I don't want to spend hundreds just to send one back because it requires internet access specifically. I'm okay if they need WiFi to connect to my phone only
@Vacuum Wars any suggestions on best robot vacuum without moping? I know i could just not use the mopping feature, but curious if you have any recommendations since I would assume it was be cheaper.
I've watched a lot of his videos and it seems to be the Roborock Q5 Pro+ or Q5 Max+ or the Eufy L60 were his picks for vacuum only robots. I Just picked up the Q5 Max+ this week during their Black Friday pricing at $300 on Amazon. I'm coming from a Shark robot vacuum that broke. The Roborock's app is sooo much better and it cleans better and is faster than the Shark, which didn't have lidar and required magnetic strips to set "no go zones.
interactive search, please! i never use bags, so i end up just emptying the receptical on the robot itself, but if i could get a good bagless base that mops, i'd like to see the differences, it would be a great find
How do you deal with software updates? Seems like the newest vacuum gets placed on top (which makes sense) but do you go back and update the software and retest?
6:55? Didnt Eufy Omni S1 pro have a flat lidar on their top end model for 6 months now? Feels like that robot was pretty much forgotten except for it's mopping, which should have been higher by merit of being the only one to constantly cycle out dirty water while it's working.
with these tests, do you determine the amount of damage to baseboards? My last robot vacuum was a Neato D7 and it would take the pain off of my baseboards at the spots where it needed to turn. The areas it would ride along side the the baseboards it would discolor the baseboards. I would like to find a vacuum robot that not affect my baseboards. Thank you for all you do.
Have you thought about testing the Narwal S20+ Upright Vacuum Mop? Would love to see you do a review on this. I've had mine since they released it less than 2 months ago... And I love it! Keep up the great content!
@juliansihas1234 mine is still working great I have to clean it every now and then and I make sure to do weekly maintenance so it is a little bit of a hassle, it would be great to upgrade but for now I'm just going to keep using it until it dies
It's the same product rebadged. Ecovacs for global market & Yeedi is the medium brand for the American domestic market. Ecovacs must think Americans are idiots. 🤣
What about the Roborock camera? Is the app audited? Are there privacy concerns? You can extend the results with information if there is an independent security review.
Hi 🙂 love your methodology in the tests you make. However even your budget pick is a bit over my budget 😞 . Can you recommend something closer to 200€? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work 😉
would it be worth switching to the Ecovacs Deebot N20 Plus from the Eufy L60 SES if all i have is carpet? which one does better at hair detangling and deep carpet?
Yay Black Friday sales! Went and got the Dreame X40 for $999 with an added 10% discount which after tax and adding their special hair brush put me right at $1000.
@@GITSSAC from all the reviews I watched, the L40 is a newer model, but the X40 has a couple of additional smaller features. But I was under the impression to just buy whichever one was cheaper, and they went ahead and made the X40 cheaper. Plus I really wanted a black vacuum.
@@MKNYC_ I ended up buying the x40 yesterday. Both were on sale, but the x40 ended up being a bit cheaper at 1400 CAD and it came with the tricut roller for free. How are you liking yours so far?
I have a qrevo curv and I’m happy with that but I want to recommend something for my friend. Could you please tell me what is the best robot based on your rankings, but which you can plug directly to water and drain? Is it still qrevo vmax ultra or some other manufacturers allow that and do a better job?
I think you really should have a category for reliability/software completeness (which robot vacuum has the least bugs?) because in my experience with robot vacuums, if those are not good they can be the most frustrating things that may even make other advanced features feel useless. For example if the robot keeps deleting your map, not being able to locate itself, not being able to store different floors of your house as maps...
Love and appreciate your review videos. small correction at 2:19, top 5 results image shows the same name and machine in No 1 and No 5. 1 should be the Curv model instead.
You should test out the Tapo rv20. It has a interesting "magslim" lidar setup which is mounted where you would normally have obstacle avoidance cameras.
Help!! This video was AWESOME! I used all the information you'd gathered and purchased a Roborock Qrevo Master during the Black Friday sales. It had all the features I needed and as a disabled girly I was SO excited to soon have some cleaning help. But a few days later I received an email saying that my order needed to be cancelled because the order the retailer had made with Roborock couldn't be fulfilled due to a global stock shortage. I can't even buy it from a different place because EVERYONE is sold out (all the authorised retailers in Australia). I tried contacting Roborock in Australia and they obviously did not read the email as the reply that they sent didn't answer any of my questions (and asked questions I'd already answered). I tried contacting Roborock in the US and didn't receive any reply. Does ANYONE know if the Roborock Qrevo Master will be coming back in stock? I don't know if it's been discontinued to make way for a new model, or whether they're just temporarily out of stock.
I have the iRobot 10 Max and was wondering the same. I'm not overly impressed with the upgrade and the vacuuming seems to be less efficient than on my j6.
It would be nice to know parts availability from the manufacturer, if I'm going to may over 1000 bucks for a robot I want to KNOW I can get wear parts and that they are committed to providing them. Also some kind of repairability index would be really helpful, how easy is it to replace gears or other internal bits.
Anyone else have issues with getting their Roborock vacuum in the US? Ordered it Nov. 30th & still don’t have it and shipping hasn’t updated since Dec. 5th. Reached out and they sent a new shipping number but still no movement.
@VacuumWars I see a part of video where the Slim gets under your furniture which is obvious, i wanted to know if the Curv gets under the furniture as well. Trying to know the clearance Curv can reach. My furniture has similar clearance, to yours in the video. Thank you again for the review.
Surprised the new Ecovacs X5 OMNI hasn't been reviewed since it was also one to introduced edge moping this year along many other features. Hope to see it soon!!
Thanks a lot for your efforts, appreciate your videos! I wanted to ask though why did you choose the Yeedi as the best midrange although the Eufi X10 Pro Omni is ranked higher in your list? (Eufi is cheaper). Also, does the Eufi really have problems with reaching the edges of kitchen cabinets as I read some are complaining about it?

@@julianfp1952 How are you liking your X40 Ultra?
@@julianfp1952 Thank you for your detailed explanation!
I'm super curious about that too
I had the exact same question. I thought the x40 had better specs than the l40
Why is the Dreame L40 here but not X40?
What I would really like is to know which vacuums require internet access and/or subscriptions. Every smart device in my house is on a closed-network or doesn't require wifi/network at all and I don't want to spend hundreds just to send one back because it requires internet access specifically. I'm okay if they need WiFi to connect to my phone only
Why is the Roborock QRevo Master 1st and 5th in the vacuum and mopping only assessment at 2:15 with two different scores?
Your intro phrase makes me smile every time. Just me?
Awesome. Thank you!
Will you have a review from the dreame x40 master?
Still waiting til Black Friday to get my curv. Great video, thank you!
The deals started already
We have our black friday deals video up now and the Qrevo Curve is in it! th-cam.com/video/sDCG30q8T98/w-d-xo.html
There is Roborock Qrevo Master twice on the list at 2:16.
interactive search, please! i never use bags, so i end up just emptying the receptical on the robot itself, but if i could get a good bagless base that mops, i'd like to see the differences, it would be a great find
How do you deal with software updates? Seems like the newest vacuum gets placed on top (which makes sense) but do you go back and update the software and retest?
Giving a like just for the shear effort put into this initiative
6:55?
Didnt Eufy Omni S1 pro have a flat lidar on their top end model for 6 months now? Feels like that robot was pretty much forgotten except for it's mopping, which should have been higher by merit of being the only one to constantly cycle out dirty water while it's working.
Does Eufy Omni S1 Pro not even get a look in! I'm very suprised or was it just not in the tests so far?
S1 Pro should be somewhere in TOP 10 - mop is amazing. It struggles a little on carpets therefore adding a Dyson will solve this
with these tests, do you determine the amount of damage to baseboards? My last robot vacuum was a Neato D7 and it would take the pain off of my baseboards at the spots where it needed to turn. The areas it would ride along side the the baseboards it would discolor the baseboards. I would like to find a vacuum robot that not affect my baseboards. Thank you for all you do.
Have you thought about testing the Narwal S20+ Upright Vacuum Mop?
Would love to see you do a review on this.
I've had mine since they released it less than 2 months ago... And I love it!
Keep up the great content!
what makes the curv so much more expensive?
Do you recommend a good dust only vacuum vs a cheap mop combo ?
How about Dreame X40 Ultra 😊
no mention of the l10s pro ultra heat
Vacuum wars never disappoints when it comes to vacuum reviews, this channel is the reason why I got my S9+
how is your s9+ working? mine is having some issues and might be time to upgrade
@juliansihas1234 mine is still working great I have to clean it every now and then and I make sure to do weekly maintenance so it is a little bit of a hassle, it would be great to upgrade but for now I'm just going to keep using it until it dies
Worth noting that the Yeedi M12 Pro+ Looks exactly like the Ecovacs T30.
It's the same product rebadged. Ecovacs for global market & Yeedi is the medium brand for the American domestic market. Ecovacs must think Americans are idiots. 🤣
What is the difference between the rodorock revolution curve and the edge?
Thoughts on the dreame l20 ultra vs the top pick mid range?
What about the Roborock camera? Is the app audited? Are there privacy concerns? You can extend the results with information if there is an independent security review.
Privacy should be a metric on the website
I stay away from all Chinese manufacturers
Still happy with my Eufy x10 omni, considering it's price, a solid unit.
Hi 🙂 love your methodology in the tests you make. However even your budget pick is a bit over my budget 😞 . Can you recommend something closer to 200€? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work 😉
Are robot vacs moving towards 5 ghz Wifi? I have had problems with 2 Roborocks that only use 2.5.
would it be worth switching to the Ecovacs Deebot N20 Plus from the Eufy L60 SES if all i have is carpet? which one does better at hair detangling and deep carpet?
Can the Qrevo curve connect to a water supply and drain system like the S8MaxV Ultra?
Yay Black Friday sales! Went and got the Dreame X40 for $999 with an added 10% discount which after tax and adding their special hair brush put me right at $1000.
Isn't the x40 suppose to be better than the L40? I was wondering why it didn't make the list 🤔
@@GITSSAC from all the reviews I watched, the L40 is a newer model, but the X40 has a couple of additional smaller features. But I was under the impression to just buy whichever one was cheaper, and they went ahead and made the X40 cheaper. Plus I really wanted a black vacuum.
@@GITSSAC I also think the pre-black Friday (where the L40 was 400 bucks cheaper) had something to do with the scoring.
@@MKNYC_ I ended up buying the x40 yesterday. Both were on sale, but the x40 ended up being a bit cheaper at 1400 CAD and it came with the tricut roller for free. How are you liking yours so far?
@@GITSSAC I’ll let you know when mine comes in! Just ordered on Friday haha
I have a qrevo curv and I’m happy with that but I want to recommend something for my friend. Could you please tell me what is the best robot based on your rankings, but which you can plug directly to water and drain? Is it still qrevo vmax ultra or some other manufacturers allow that and do a better job?
Omg. You read my mind. I was looking for a video and here you are. Lol
I'm calling it now! 2025 will be the year of roller mops.
Have you tested the Xiaomi 20+ EU? I can't seem to find it anywhere in your lists.
Appreciate what you are doing!
Love and appreciate your review videos. small correction at 2:19, top 5 results image shows the same name and machine in No 1 and No 5. 1 should be the Curv model instead.
Do you consider overtime reliability as a factor?
Alot of the newer models don't hold on for more than a year or two.
Where would you put the roborock Qrevo Pro ? i dont see it in the list.
What do you think the best mopping vacuum is?
Thanks for the informative videos!
We keep them ranked right here: vacuumwars.com/best-robot-vacuum-mop-combo-2024/ hope that helps!
Was the iRobot Roomba j9+ included in these test?
Would love to know all models you test to understand if they are not as good quality.
@VacuumWars
I see a part of video where the Slim gets under your furniture which is obvious, i wanted to know if the Curv gets under the furniture as well. Trying to know the clearance Curv can reach.
My furniture has similar clearance, to yours in the video. Thank you again for the review.
The Curv is taller by about 20mm.
@@VacuumWars Was the Curv able to get under your furniture?
I couldn't find reviews about Xiaomi vacuum cleaners. Also good job.
Hi is the RV2800ZEUK included in this? Sharks' latest... thanks!
Surprised the new Ecovacs X5 OMNI hasn't been reviewed since it was also one to introduced edge moping this year along many other features. Hope to see it soon!!
Hello, have checked Xiaom X20+, X20 Pro and X20 Max?
Thank you for your videos. I am in the market for vacuum only robot. What do you suggest? Thank You!
Thanks a lot for your efforts, appreciate your videos! I wanted to ask though why did you choose the Yeedi as the best midrange although the Eufi X10 Pro Omni is ranked higher in your list? (Eufi is cheaper). Also, does the Eufi really have problems with reaching the edges of kitchen cabinets as I read some are complaining about it?
what about qrevo pro? at $600 right now it’s quite tempting but wish we had your numbers for it!
If the price are similar, do you think Ecovacs Deebot N20 Plus is better than the Roborock Q7 Max+? Both are at ~$390 right now.
How does eureka j20 stack up with its new mop design
I need them to have bases which can be connected to plumbing. Is there a list of those?
how much better is the latest Qrevo models then the Qrevo master?
