Just a duty for Christians. We want hope, and we believe that God is love having power to provide while desiring us to understand his love and so we share the Gospel.

@junkgum380 Yeah, I wouldn't call the Biblical god, loving.
*This website is designed to spread the vicious truth about the Bible. For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes. The so called God of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout. This God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children.* I have included references to the Biblical passages, so grab your Bible and follow along.
*It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said Thou shall not kill.* For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21).
God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21 He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife!
*Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody!* In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered
The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 & Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). ***This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person.***
***Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK.*** If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself. *Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven:* For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it (Matthew 19:12). *I don’t know why anyone would follow the teachings of someone who literally tells all men to cut off their privates.*
The God of the Bible also was a big fan of ritual human sacrifice and animal sacrifice.
*And just in case you are thinking that the evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament are no longer in effect, perhaps you should read where Jesus makes it perfectly clear:* It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid (Luke 16:17). There are many more quotes on this topic at my Do Not Ignore the Old Testament web page.
*If you follow the links on this site you will learn about all the nasty things in the Bible that are usually not talked about by priests and preachers.*

@@drewbidoojitsu-gj8fu*A lot of end time prophecies are being perfectly fulfilled which the vast majority of believers are totally unaware of! And this one is key to understanding all the rest.*
Amos 8:11 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:”
Amos 8:12 “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, (it was "south"), they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” (KJV)
*The first verse was written about what has already happened because there are no longer ANY HOLY BIBLES ON EARTH!!! They've ALL been supernaturally attacked in fulfillment of prophecy. And the second verse was written about when the films that document the bible changes are no longer able to be seen, which are the ONLY place on Earth where God's TRUE words can still be found without Satan's words mixed in, there and in written lists like the one at (amos) (8) (.) (org). So investigate this now because soon, they are going to cut the lights!*
*I had studied and memorized scripture out of the same bible since 1961, and began seeing changes in it that I couldn't explain in 2014. Then in 2016 I got my first computer and finaly found out why and saw that there were other true followers of Christ that "prove all things" like we were commanded, who had found proof of what those verses originally said in the KJV just like I remembered....so I watched HUNDREDS of them over the last 7 years!*
*Many prophecies are being fulfilled right now that only a tiny few are aware of. We all had previously misinterpreted them because we didn't consider that they could happen supernaturally. For those of us who can see this, it's the most exciting and faith strengthening thing that's ever happened in our lives!*
*As a very effective tool for saving others from this "strong delusion" I saved some of the best films for showing many of the most important changes, and for pointing out all of the scripture that was written about this in my playlist which you can find by typing into TH-cam (PROOF OF BIBLE CHANGE RESIDUE JUNKIE ). I don't make films or money with my channel btw.*
*I pray that many more will be blessed with eyes to see this incredible proof of the validity and accuracy of God's prophetic word, and how close we are to our Savior's return!!!*
*PLEASE share that playlist because it's bringing strayed believers running back to God and they are writing to tell me so! Halleluyah!!!*
👉❕👉 *Whenever anyone is reading **_ANY_** bible now without knowing a **_LOT_** about what the thousands of supernatural changes in it are, Satan is laughing his tail off! And here's why, he understands why rat poison is 100% effective. It's 99.95% corn. Rats can't resist it and it kills every rat that eats it! They won't eat it if there's enough poison in it that they can taste it. He could have changed all the words, but then everyone would notice and quit reading it.👉👉👉 And he wouldn't have changed what he did if it wouldn't bring people to Hell!!! There are changes on every page of the KJV, more than any other translation...go figure. So if you aren't seeing changes on every page, you're doing exactly what Satan wants, eating his "rat poison"! I haven't opened my bible, (a KJV) that I got in 1961 and cherished my whole life, in over 6 years and will never read another one the rest of my life. I learned so much about this that I can't even LOOK at it now without getting a creepy feeling like looking at a Ouija board or a voodoo doll or something! 👉I give everybody the same advise, first watch all the films in my playlist which you'll find by just typing in (proof of bible change residue junkie) for a good understanding of how this is perfectly fulfilling many end time prophecies which we had all previously misinterpreted and to receive a 1,000% increase in faith,👉 then print out the PDF brother Tim has at his KJV restoration project at (I have to write this website in code or skroo tube won't post this comment!) amos ate dot oh are gee, of a long list of the changes that have been documented.👉 And then instead of reading any bible, watch as many of the other videos those channels have made on this as you can before the lights go out and Amos **8:12** is fulfilled too. That way you'll only be reading God's words instead of a mixture of His and Satan's. There'll be time to read Satan's rat poison later if you still want to.*

In one culture it's completely ok to fly a full plane of innocent people into a building full of innocent people. In another culture it's not ok at all. Do you see the dilemma there? Who sets the moral standard? Why did a handful of countries go to war to stop Germany from burning Jews alive but nobody is doing anything about Russia vs Ukraine or the atrocities happening in Korea, China or the middle east nations? Why was it necessary to intervene in one case involving taking people's lives but not others? I guess it just depends on what the benefits are, or who is in charge, right?

@@robertmitchell-tv5yf I'm sure God has reasons independent of what we think. But, we can see good that can come out of tragedy. This can be considered evidence for believing in God, though not proof. For example, Joseph (in the Bible) endured being sold as a slave by his brothers, and being wrongly put in jail, to later be in the right place to save many people from famine. He said later to his brothers, that what you meant for evil, God meant for good.

@@mbrum3230 God is the Judge of people's hearts, and our sincerity, humility, and faith. God knows if people are praying to the True God, or to a fantasy (a false god). It could be possible that a hijacker converted and repented, however, it is unlikely as it would go against their belief, as they believe that Jesus never died on the cross, or rose again, a core necessity of the Gospel (see 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4).

    • @scottm4042
      @scottm4042 ปีที่แล้ว

@@robertmitchell-tv5yf To the first point, I said "God knows", not mere mortal man knows. Man could be praying to false gods, if he is trying to get help from a false god who doesn't exist, ie. Idols, they end up wasting breath, praying to a stone, or a tree, etc.
Everyone has faith, but only those who believe in the "Truth" will be benefited by their faith. If the object of their faith, is not True, they have been following a fantasy, that is like a vapor. It is there for a moment then is gone, like our earthly life in this body. Our body is like a flower that blooms then withers away, and is gone. But our soul lives on. Where will it be? Heaven, or hell?

    • @scottm4042
      @scottm4042 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@robertmitchell-tv5yf And to your second point, anyone can say they believe, but not truly believe. Matthew 7 says that many people will stand in judgement and call God Lord, but He will not accept them, because they were not doing His will, and He called them workers of iniquity. So, in trying to understand this verse, it seems they were relying on their own good works to save themselves, instead of coming to God through faith in Jesus Christ death for their sins, His burial, and resurrection. They were trying to earn heaven, on their own merit, and there is none righteous.
So, Hitler could say he was a Christian, but not be truly saved. He would be playing the role of a hypocrite. The Bible says, God is not mocked. If people are playing games with God, God knows, and they will be judged. All sins are judged. Either the sins are forgiven by Jesus, or man pays for them himself.

*I'm 70 now and have read only the exact same copy of the King James Bible my church gave me in 1961. (This does not mean I was a King James onlyist but now I'm glad I never read any others or I might not have noticed the changes as quickly.) I had memorized many scriptures from it through the years. Then in 2014 I started seeing changes in it that I couldn't explain. I have an exceptional memory, for instance I can draw a detailed picture of my baby stroller. I had never owned a computer or heard of the "Mandela Effect" back then. But after being given my first computer on 2016, I finally found out why I had been noticing all of the oddities that I couldn't explain. I then started diligently studying what should actually be called the ''Daniel 7:25 Effect''. That's where God said He would give the antichrist the power to "change times and laws'' which we now know meant (history and scripture plus laws of physics). We're seeing many end times prophecies being fulfilled SUPERNATURALLY! This is some of the "lying signs and wonders" that God told us He would give the AC power to perform which would even deceive His very elect, if it were possible in 2nd Thessalonians chapter two!*
*God said in the end of days, (NOW!) that He would send us a famine for hearing His word in Amos **8:11** and that He would give the antichrist the ability to do this in Daniel 7:25. In Daniel 12:4 & 12:9 He told him to seal his book until the end days. He told John **_not_** to seal his book because the end time is at hand in Revelation 22:10. One of the Greek definitions of seal in Strongs concordance is “to protect from Satan”. He also told us to write His words in our hearts, which meant memorize, if not word for word at least the essence of what was written, because He knew this was going to happen.*
*God commanded us to "prove all things", and people **_better_** obey Him, especially on this subject. I urge you to research this. There are many brothers and sisters making videos about the changes with more proof of what was originally written and I have lots more about this in my playlist 👉 which can be found by typing in ( proof of bible change residue junkie )* 👈
*I've continued to study scripture and have grown MUCH closer to Jesus by learning what Satan has been changing. Soon Amos **8:12** will be fulfilled too, and the only way it can happen is by not being able to see these videos that document what used to be written in our bibles.*
*_May God bless all who read this with eyes to see this incredible faith strengthener, and how close we are to our Saviour's return!!!!_*
*P.S. Everyone is going to learn about this one way or the other. I'm just trying to keep as many people as I can from hearing Jesus explaining it to them at the Gate.* ❤✝️💪

So, they would rather seek annihilation. This is the work of the enemy. People allow themselves to become a vessel for the devil and his influence.

All mothers ( and parents) want to protect their babies, so they will let them know when they are doing something that is detrimental to their well being.

Jesus had lots of enemies, probably more than anyone, they were constantly looking for a reason to get him out of the way, so much so that some of them actually paid one of his own disciples to sell him out and they captured and crucified him.
Yes, it was an acquisition whereby he lawfully acquired each one of our souls back for us so that with his own death we will not have to taste death, but can live with him in the goodness, the fullness of God's grace forever.
It was, however, Jesus who paid the price in full for us as a free gift to us, he signed on the dotted line of human history with his own blood. All we have to do is accept and receive what He mercifully did for us to Supernaturally remove our nature of sin, by humbling himself unto death, that we might take up his righteousness. This is God's supreme act of love.
No matter how good we think we are, no one could do what he did.
So often when we think we're right and fighting the good fight, it turns out we were wrong, or at least our motives and the intention of our heart was corrupted and that's why we see such a mess in the world.
Who among us could live life claiming to be perfectly good without having any of our evemies putting forth contrary accounts within our own lifetime? Yet, miraculously we do not see this with a Jesus.
And his enemies put him to death on a cross.
And when they did, he didn't even give a speech about how he did this for all of us, saying: see how good I am. No, instead, he said to our Father in Heaven, of those who beat him, wipped him, ripping his flesh from him, nailed and hung him to a torture device causing his lungs to collapse, amidst unimaginable pain and suffering making it nearly impossible to breathe much less talk, he said about those who did it to him:
"Forgive them, for they know not what they do!"
If you have a standard at all and care about the evils that take place in this world, know that your standard can never match God's standard. And his justice is far more serious than our own, but so too is his mercy and his love surpasses even his justice, though he is a holy God, He knows we're corrupted and yet He still loves us enough to have given everything to get us back, to win us back, win our hearts to Him... He won't force us. That would only show how well he can manipulate matter. He wants a relationship with us and like a concerned father seeing a foolish wayward child running out into traffic he leapt out in front of the threat to keep us from falling prey to it. Hell was never meant for us. It was meant for the architect of evil: Satan.
If you don't believe there's a force for evil like there's a force for good in the world just look around.
God doesn't violate free will. He gives us a choice. It's not rocket science. We don't have to be the smartest or the best looking or anything like what the standards of this world hold up as important.
God even invites us to bring all our doubts and try Him. Test it out. Pray to Jesus, sincerely, really meaning to know if He is real, if He is God, if he has transcended death for our sake, ask him to reveal the truth to you?
And if you really mean it with all your heart when you ask... You will receive God's answer.
That's what happened to me several years ago. I was skeptical until I found myself in an impossible situation and if God was real, I all but demanded he reveal himself to me, show me who He is, give me the truth.
      He did.
The next day the very first person I saw asked me out of the blue if I wanted to stop and talk and he had a Bible in his lap, that had never happened to me before or since. But that day I listened and the man told me about Jesus and how we are all dead in our trespasses against God, but Jesus died for us, for me personally to take that death sentence on Himself so that I might have eternal life
And suddenly, finally... I heard it. I understood like I never had before. And within days I broke down sobbing and repenting of my sins as the truth hit me like a wave, realizing what I'd done throughout my life, all the wrong against God and others, and that's when I felt this overwhelming warmth of pure love upon me as though someone was embracing me and I knew, there was absolutely no question in my mind it was Jesus. I sobbed all the more, knowing I didn't deserve it.
Then I felt such peace like I'd never felt in my life and joy like I'd never imagined. So much so it was like an enormous weight was lifted, like I'd woken up from a nightmare into ... a new life. It was night and day, that dramatic.
That's when I knew he forgave me and I wanted only to follow him, to live like him as much as I am able, each day.
The Lord took a lot of fears and phobias and anxieties from me that day, even PTSD.
My life has never been the same since. 🙌🙏✝️❤️

*Miracles and Apotheosis in the Ancient Mediterranean World*
*"It should first be noted that miracle stories are not uncommon in the literature of this period.* Ancient people believed in a world permeated by the supernatural and readily accepted stories of miracles and believed in stories of visions and visitors from the world of the divine all the time. *Even very sober and sometimes sceptical historians like Tacitus will pass on accounts of miracles that he clearly accepts and expects his audience to believe as historical.*
So when we read stories of how the emperor Augustus was miraculously conceived by the god Apollo, or how his birth was presaged by a new star in the heavens, or how Julius Caesar was seen ascending into the heaven after his death or how Vespasian healed lame and blind people who asked him for a miracle, we accept that these stories represent the kinds of things ancient people genuinely believed about great men. Or we accept that they are at least told to indicate that the man in question was great. *What we don't do is accept that simply because people believed these stories they must mean that they really happened.*
And this is even when the stories are presented to us by a very careful historian and given to us as verified fact. Take Tacitus' account of the miracles of the emperor Vespasian:
"In the months during which Vespasian was waiting at Alexandria for the periodical return of the summer gales and settled weather at sea, many wonders occurred which seemed to point him out as the object of the favour of heaven and of the partiality of the Gods. One of the common people of Alexandria, well known for his blindness, threw himself at the Emperor's knees, and implored him with groans to heal his infirmity. This he did by the advice of the God Serapis, whom this nation, devoted as it is to many superstitions, worships more than any other divinity. .... And so Vespasian, supposing that all things were possible to his good fortune, and that nothing was any longer past belief, with a joyful countenance, amid the intense expectation of the multitude of bystanders, accomplished what was required. *The hand was instantly restored to its use, and the light of day again shone upon the blind. Persons actually present attest both facts, even now when nothing is to be gained by falsehood."* (Histories, IV, 81)
Tacitus was closely connected to the court of Vespasian's sons and successors, Titus and Domitian, and so in a position to know the "persons actually present" and to consult them long after Vespasian's death "when nothing is to be gained by falsehood". He was also a very careful historian who scorned those who took rumour and stories as fact without checking them against sources and eye witnesses and who condemned those who "catch eagerly at wild and improbable rumours in preference to genuine history" (Annals, IV,11).
*Despite this, I don't know anyone who would read the account above and conclude that the emperor really had magical healing powers and genuinely used his supernatural abilities to heal people.* The fact that even a judicious and often sceptical analyst like Tacitus accepted this story shows us just how readily people in the ancient world accepted claims of the miraculous.
*One form of miracle that was widely believed in was the idea of apotheosis, where a great man is physically taken up in to the heavens and raised to divine status.* It was claimed that Romulus, the founder of Rome, underwent this process and later appeared to his friend Julius Proculus to declare his new celestial status. The same claim was made about Julius Caesar and Augustus, with supposed witnesses observing their ascent into the heavenly realm. Lucian's satire The Passing of Peregrinus includes his scorn for the claim that the philosopher was taken up into the celestial realm and was later seen walking around on earth after his death. The Chariton novel Callirhoe has its hero Chaereas visiting the tomb of his recently dead wife, saying he *"arrived at the tomb at daybreak"* where he *"found the stones removed and the entrance open. At that he took fright."* Others are afraid to enter the tomb, but Chaereas goes in and finds his wife's *body missing* and concludes she has been taken up by the gods."

*The Enuma Elish would later be the inspiration for the Hebrew scribes who created the text now known as the biblical Book of Genesis.* Prior to the 19th century CE, the Bible was considered the oldest book in the world and its narratives were thought to be completely original. In the mid-19th century CE, however, European museums, as well as academic and religious institutions, sponsored excavations in Mesopotamia to find physical evidence for historical corroboration of the stories in the Bible. ***These excavations found quite the opposite, however, in that, once cuneiform was translated, it was understood that a number of biblical narratives were Mesopotamian in origin.***
*Famous stories such as the Fall of Man and the Great Flood were originally conceived and written down in Sumer,* translated and modified later in Babylon, and reworked by the Assyrians ***before they were used by the Hebrew scribes for the versions which appear in the Bible.***
***In revising the Mesopotamian creation story for their own ends, the Hebrew scribes tightened the narrative and the focus but retained the concept of the all-powerful deity who brings order from chaos.*** Marduk, in the Enuma Elish, establishes the recognizable order of the world - *just as God does in the Genesis tale* - and human beings are expected to recognize this great gift and honor the deity through service.

God has elected to completely destroy all traces of sin. Therefore He will not destroy a soul in hell until it recognises how wrong it was to rebel against its creator’s good advice and commands.
Presumably those who led decent and noble lives but neglected to love God will be destroyed quickly, because we assume that with their lack of great defiance to God they will quickly admit their error.
However we can also assume that there will be some in hell cursing God and their end will be slower until they eventually allow themselves to face the truth.
Of all that is important in our lives there is nothing more important than we ensure we are not in a state of rebellion to God when we die.

To answer the big question on God's purpose: my testimony starts at a vision from God stopping suicide and it was about his intent: to create maximum love and beauty.
Also (something left out of this Hell debate) that Satan takes souls to Hell as he wants them separated from God. By contaminating their souls they cannot be taken to a Holy Heaven.
Lastly the main point I have learned from Christ is that to follow him not only secures eternal paradise as a free gift, but that it is the best way to establish Heaven on earth. For all atheists assuming they have arbitrary moral beliefs, they would still be better met by following Jesus than using their own or societies guidance.

There is the temptation for some to reduce life down to a one liner. I have been tempted to do this. And I have succumbed to the temptation because I say this with my one liner. “Do not die in a state of rebellion to God.”
But you might say why do we have to obey God? And it’s a good question. Here is the answer.
God has taken a risk with your life because He knows there’s a reasonable chance that you will disobey Him. The risk is this. God knows that if you don’t obey Him, He cannot give you eternal life because you’ll be out of harmony with that life.
We could liken this to a hardened criminal. There is something wrong with him. And because of the wrong that’s in him, it’s humanly impossible for him to feel an affinity for good and decent people. He is not in harmony with them nor can he be unless he abandons his wrong life and embraces the right life.
God instructs us through His spokespeople. The prophets and Jesus Christ and holy scripture. God says that He has made us for eternal life which is our’s if we get into harmony with that life.
And as decent people are in harmony with the good laws of the land we too have to obey God and His laws.
You might say “why”. Ok it goes like this. If God has always existed and has created everything we must assume that He is a lot smarter than us. We cannot deny this conclusion. It’s logical. Therefore if God gives us a bunch of advice in the form of commands and we don’t take it we are not being very bright.
God says we have to change. If fact He is telling us that we have to quit sinning or disobeying Him. He explains why. It’s everlasting life or zip.
For those who elect to disobey God there is no plan B. They dip out on everlasting life which is the only life God has created them for. Hence the risk God has taken with your life. He has allowed you to be the master of your own fate. It’s your choice. He can change you and remake you but only if you give Him permission to do so.
You are in the driving seat of your own life. It’s called your will. You free will. It’s because you are free to choose. And that’s the risk God has taken with you.
He can do everything for you except be you. He cannot decide for you. But if you don’t choose wisely He has lost you. And that is the risk God has taken with your life because He has given you the autonomy of a freewill. And this is a necessary key ingredient in order for you to function in the promised life whereby you become an eternal being.
The smart move is ensuring that we are not in a state of rebellion to God when we die. God knows best. We have established this.
And whilst on first sight from reading the scriptures it’s seems that God punishes souls in hell in perpetuity, it’s clear even to atheists that no God would ever do such a thing. And upon a very careful examination of the scriptures the atheists are right because those who rebel against God get destroyed there.

@@jasonnoble7302 God cannot fail but you can. Don’t get the two mixed up. You are using crazy semantics. Self deception is very powerful. There are many examples of it but the atheist example is the relevant one so let’s stick with that. Your deception is founded upon your preference. It’s your innate preference for God to not exist. And this preference which you may or may not be aware of has consequently inflated you. You are not being reduced by the greatness of God which is a good and healthy reduction. And with all self deceptions you don’t realise this because you don’t want to. In all rebellion there is power be it just a smidgen that a child obtains from defying its parent or the power the Nazis obtained by rebelling unjustly against other nations. You are in a state of rebellion. You don’t know it or see it or realise it. But you have a problem in humbling yourself to God because you don’t have or want to have the humility to do it. You are very proud of yourself. And this pride or the desire to maintain it is actually preventing you from actually realising the obviousness of God’s existence. Because in order for you to recognise the existence of God you would need to simultaneously jettison the sense of inflated self worth you have acquired by not being diminished by God’s greatness. And that’s more important to you than anything. So much so that it is preventing you from being able to recognise the obviousness of God’s existence. Perhaps you are very much like the fallen angels for whom repentance is an impossibility, because they love the elixir of the power from rebellion more than repentance. However repentance is actually possible for you but not without God’s help. God will help those to repent who have the wherewithal to obey Him, perhaps even unbeknownst to themselves.

First mistake… “the meaninglessness of life”. There is no meaninglessness unless one’s mind is primed to think there Is a meaninglessness to life. But it does NOT have to be thought of in such a manner. Back in the 1990s I “trolled” Christian AOL group forums and one of the major existential themes was “the meaning of life”. To me the answer was self-evident… “to live”. And not just live but living in human communities and how best to do that. That should be one of those main themes of life taught to every child. Nothing else is really needed. The fact so many people can’t see that is evidence they’ve been improperly prepared for life in human communities. “We live what we learn.” It’s rather odd to miss that because life is one of those natures that’s right in front of our noses. It’s so obvious it’s too frequently overlooked. There need be No other reason for life. Unfortunately, it seems Cliffe (among many other theists) appears to be one of those seeking some meaning that doesn’t exist or even needs to exist. It is rightly claimed (like many other species in the animal kingdom) we are “social” creatures. Our connection to other human beings is what gives meaning to life. If one is having difficulty making that connection they don’t need a god, or spirit, ghost, angel, etc. they just need help from others in finding the connection. Considering we all exist in a material universe, any connection must also be firmly grounded in the material universe. No supernatural needed.

There are lots of other animals on the planet that do exactly the same, and work as a group to achieve a goal. It's not too difficult to work out a basic system of morals to maintain a cohesive society. If animals can do it, I'm sure we can, to an even higher degree.

Thanks, Tom. You'll no doubt have noticed that there is this reoccurring theme among many theists here, including Cliffe that basically says "hey, you atheists, if there is no God, then there is no ultimate moral lawgiver, so morality would then be just a matter of opinion and what's to stop one person from believing that it's good to kill people and another from saying it's good to be nice to people??" and I get it but there's a couple of problems with that argument.
Firstly, it doesn't tell us whether or not a God actually exists. This "if there is no God, then there is no ultimate moral lawgiver" etc argument is just an argument for why believing in God gives us a better sense of there being some kind of higher order we can appeal to as opposed to a world where every human being's opinion is equally valid, it's not giving us any reassurance that this God/ultimate moral lawgiver REALLY exists.
Secondly, even if, for argument's sake, there IS a God, if this being exists outside of our space and time and is invisible, intangible etc to us and he doesn't talk to us all directly, face to face and doesn't tell us if we are correct or in error, then this world is as good as if there was no God anyway and we are getting exactly that very moral chaos of one person's opinion versus another's that there would be if there was no higher being than us humans.
This is a world full of moral disagreement we ALREADY live in, so even if God exists somewhere, he's not stopping that anyway. This channel is a case in point, there's nothing to stop one Christian from claiming one interpretation of the Bible and another from disagreeing with them. Does God come on here and sort it out and declare who is right and who is wrong? If only.
Where is God to settle all of the many moral disagreements we have as human beings? Nowhere to be seen, which is the whole problem. I only wish there was a God who would show up and give answers but he doesn't, so he might just as well not exist even if he does exist in some other realm somewhere, it's useless to us here.
All we've got is some book called the Bible which is supposedly God's word and guess what? Yep, you guessed right, we can't even agree on the interpretation of what it says, so that is also useless and only adds to the confusion.

Sobering thought, isn't it? You may not have realized it, but every second, two people die. What happens then? Is there a Heaven and Hell? Are you "good enough" to get to Heaven? Look at the Ten Commandments. Have you ever lied or stolen? (regardless of value) Ever looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in your heart? (see Matthew 5:28) You may see these as "no big deal" but God takes them seriously. He is Holy and said, "be Holy, for I am Holy." God sent His Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life we never could. He took God's wrath on the cross for sinners. Jesus took the punishment of His people’s sins against God, then He rose from the dead. Cry out to God for mercy, confessing and forsaking your sins. Correct, yes, we will all die one day, that's a fact, you'll get no arguments from me on that one. The problem is that any claims about what happens AFTER death are currently unfalsifiable because of the very fact that it is AFTER death.
Just to expand on the point further, let's say for argument's sake when we die, there will be nothing, no Heaven, no Hell, no existence, absolutely nothing. Now would any of us be able to prove that there is absolutely nothing after death when we die? No, we couldn't, because, If there is nothing after death then there is....nothing.
We couldn't say after we die "ah, so now we know there's nothing", of course, we couldn't say that because if there is nothing after death then there will be nothing to experience and we won't exist at all, so how could we say anything?
It's only if there will be SOMETHING after death that we will then know when we die but until we do die, we won't know. Oh, we can guess, we can wish, we can hope and we can take Pascal's Wager and roll with Christianity in the hope it's true, sure, but we can't know if there is anything after death until we're dead.
How can we be reasonably expected to make a decision about things we can't possibly know about? Presuming they do exist, again for argument's sake, well, we've never seen Heaven, we've never seen Hell, we've never seen Jesus/God face to face, and we've never seen Lucifer/Satan face to face, and yet we're supposed to make these vitally important decisions on these matter based on the word of an ancient book that has multiple interpretation potential?? @Theo_Skeptomai yes. For example many of the prophecies about the end times are occurring in this century. Another prophecy, the drying of the Eurphrates River, is also being fulfilled. Within a single year the Euphrates went from a rushing river to nearly parched desert. Then there is the water flowing out of the ground in the deserts of the Middle East and Africa, just as God said He would do.
Then there is human consciousness and morality, which is a gift from God, and can only exist if there is someone before the human mind to set the standard. There is so much more, but then I'd basically just be explaining creation to you in its entirety, and I cannot do that in my limited understanding of God's creation, but I can keep going if I wanted too.

@Theo_Skeptomai if it is so much of a nonconcern, as you claim, then why do you oppose Him so strongly to the extent you feel the need to go back and forth with a believer?
The truth is, you are concerned about it, you are just too stubborn snd prideful to admit it to yourself.

My answer to anyone who says we have no free will is that, well, there's no reason for me to take anything you say seriously, including about whether we have free will. You admit that you are just a sockpuppet of determinism and therefore when you speak, you are just having a vocal spasm that is, as CS Lewis put it, "no more capable of rightness or wrongness than a hiccup or a sneeze."
Which means that making truth claims about free will or anything else is impossible because truth is utterly foreign and inaccessible to us because there is no such thing as thought or reason, only stimulus and response.
This idea is utterly unliveable once you leave the lecture hall or dorm room rap session, which is a compelling piece of evidence that it is false.

I’d love to be a part of one of these peach sessions. As long as he says this is what he feels and believes, cool. He also covers down for all the atrocities in the Bible, never admits it was bad and God should not have done it.
