    You’re getting short changed here with 732 views and only 75 thumbs up. So I’m going to give a little more interaction with this comment for the algorithm. You’re doing some great stuff here.

    I’ve been using motions now but I want to learn rotoscoping to create multiple mask clone effects. Great video! I subscribed!

    Perhaps show alternative(s) like Boris Continuum Complete FCP with Mocha Tracking or CoreMelt SliceX just so people know there are options to the tedium.

    I just need to know how to cut an image out, keeping both the cut out and background image in Apple motion

    And I agree with the earlier comment at the bottom of the screen. You deserve all thumbs up. I worked with Motion for years after taking an Apple-certified Motion course with version 6. Your videos are helping to bring me into the new Motion world. (And, Final Cut Pro is my go-to for editing.)

    Very useful video. At first I was confused when you said to drag something over an item in the Layers palette. From other work in the past, to me, “dragging something over” can imply dropping something onto that element rather than into a position above or below that element. A small point - otherwise, your instructions are very clear. Thank you!

    🤯 I had a idea of combining your previous tutorials into use for a project with a moving object. At first I thought my idea was ridiculous but this vid put things into perspective….not to mention the work that would go into it sheesh. Thanks Jenn!

    I know you stated, more than once, that you avoid rotoscoping. is there another option or what would you do in place of rotoscoping. Thanks for sharing.

      Perhaps Boris Continuum Complete for FCP with Mocha Tracking?
      It would be good if she followed up with alternative(s).

    Thanks for the videos. They help me out a lot but I got a question.
    I’ve never used rotoscoping in motion, only fcp. But when I do it I noticed that if I go frame by frame the mask seems to jump and isn’t very nice. When I skip 2 to 5 frames ahead reposition the control points I feel like I get a smoother effect. I typically go back to check but usually it’s fine.
    What is your opinion on that?
    Is motion and fcp different in how they treat control point/keyframes?

    • @JennJagerPro
      @JennJagerPro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bryant, FCP defaults to very smooth keyframes. I'm going to guess that's what's helping you out here. In Motion, the keyframes default to linear but in the keyframe editor you have far more control over the interpolation of them than in FCP. I actually requested better keyframe control in FCP with one of the developers. We'll see if they ever do it!

      @@JennJagerPro thanks for your reply. So basically while it may work better in final cut pro, in motion one frame at a time is best, right?
