Great job as usual, I’m a professional video guy and have used after effects in motion on some projects. It’s always great to follow your presentations. You don’t waste any words, you’re directions are very clear, And your energy level is always high. Congratulations on success in your work. I know it is a huge job.
Hi! Love your tutorials. Have helped me a lot. Could i please request you to do a tutorial of a double sided object revolving round and round (like a playing card for example) For the life of me I cant figure this out.
I like this method a lot. Used it successfully for a short project then tried a 24 page doc. Looks great in Motion. Unfortunately it exports page turns but substitutes the cover for every page even though it plays correctly in Motion. Does anyone know a fix. It would be terrific if anyone did?
Hey - thx for that excellent video!!! Question though, when I try to export the file (I have already added the picture book pages to motion), I only ever see white pages... How can I export and keep the pictures on the book pages - thanks. Greetings from Salzburg Austria
Hi Jenn, I've made books with After Effects before - which is very, very demanding. Motion is much easier to use and much faster. So thank you for the tutorial!! The function with a pdf file is faulty, so I use images for the individual pages. BUT there is one thing missing in Motion. The page thickness - or have I missed something??
Hello. Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing. A query ... when the project is exported, the first page of the pdf always appears even when it has been modified according to your instructions. Any recommendation in this regard
Beautiful and can't wait to find a project to use this. This will be used somewhere. The pages still feels a little stiff and want more page curves. I guess I can play with some of values to achieve more bend?
Yes, you can definitely add more curves by playing with the values in the Page Curl filter. This book flip trick is a good one to have in your pocket for sure!
Norm Baker - Would you do a tutorial to create a 4-fold page flipping book. The cove page opens to pages 2-3 which then open in opposite directions to reveal pages 4-5-6-7. pages 4-7 close in the same direction to show pages 3-4 and page 4 class to reveal the back page 8
Quick question please; wondering why my page curl effect shows as a separate layer and not combined (graphically) on the layers list?I’m getting a different (slightly) behaviour using the same settings. Thanks in advance
And to add; somebody on an FB group regarding FCP said the size and orientation of the PDF might effect the flip behaviour. Wondering now about this factor…
HELP! This page-turner is a beautiful animation! Everything looks great in Motion in the project timeline and replay, but when I export, it only shows one page! Any ideas?
Further to my last comment … for some reason I’m not getting any page flip with the same parameters…so a bit of a mystery…but really appreciate your hard work on these videos.
Good tutorial. However, I made a change to the original PDF file, and while the project plays correctly in the timeline, when shared to a MOV file every page is the first page. The pages turn correctly but each page has the image of page one. I tried multiple possible solutions but nothing worked. My advice is make sure you have the original PDF file completely finished. Don't count on making any changes to the original file or you'll be building the project over again.
Simply the best Motion tutorials. Thank you.

Thank you for contributing to the Apple Motion community. I loved your tutorial.
Nice tutorial howeveI am trying to find your answer to the problem of the same (front page) appearing on every page when the final project is shared.
Hi, great video! I have a suggestion, could you do a tutorial of a MacBook in 3D opening and the possibility of putting an image on the screen.
Just found you. Great tutorials!!! Thanks!!!

That is so cool … really illustrates the “top-down” 3D view on Apple Motion for my sometimes 2 dimensional thinking :)
Bravo i working with Apple MOTION. I realy like your TUTO. From Francis best regards

In Motion 5 can do puppet effects like Adobe?
MotionVFX has a plug in that does that. Copy and paste this in your browser to find it: motionvfx.sjv.io/2n23G

Hi, when I export the video the order I select from pages is not visible but only the first page is repeated on all other pages.
Thanks!
way late to the party, but animating the camera freaks out the page curl effect. Any way around this?

I had the same issue but I didn't make any change to the original PDF file. Did you solved this problem?
Super!!!!!
Many thanks!!
