Thanks for the memories brother! I'm 59 years old and my first concert ever was KISS at Madison Square Garden in 1978. It was amazing, and ruined all future concerts for me growing up. Rock and Roll Over was my first album, and remains my favorite to this day! I was very fortunate to have been there back in their prime. I never missed a concert from 78 on whenever they came to NY or NJ. I grew up with them, got married and had 3 kids with them, and was fortunate to see them throughout my adult life as well. That said you're right. It's time. This avatar thing is embarrassing from my perspective. Once again, great job with the video. Thanks again for the memories, and all my best to you and your band!!! Just stumbled on your channel...good to see younger gen loving KISS. I agree with a lot of your rankings...I'd have Ace's solo in top 5. ALIVE is still the go-to record but I still reach for first 3 studio albums, then R&R Over and Destroyer... and then Love Gun. Although I'm a drummer, Ace was my first music hero! His solos are so sublime...his trademark riffs are imo, underrated and/or overlooked when comparing him to the usual "all-time" greats. I was gifted ALIVE in 1976 at my 7th birthday party....been hooked ever since...at 54 they were my most played band on Spotify in 2023...I'm a musician too and have played 400-450 gigs since 1990...lucky enough to still play 8-10 gigs/year and get paid well for most of them...have a gig at the Variety Playhouse in ATL in January...should sell out (1,400 tix)! Love the Crüe poster! I also love how you stick to your guns and just like whatever you like. Kiss & Motley are 2 of the most hated bands out there but they’ve always been 2 of my favorites. Like you I don’t gaff about what other people think. Also I love the Dangerous Toys! Nice video bro!
Hey thanks! I’m more a KISS guy than Crue but Shout At The Devil is one of the greatest metal albums ever made. After that they kinda lose me with some good tracks here and there. Long love Dangerous Toys!
I love that younger people are discovering real music and becoming fans like we did. KISS was my first love then I heard Led Zeppelin and that was, as they say, that. The Ace solo album is the only release anyone listened to a month after it was released; the other 3 were put on the shelf never to be picked up again.
Great review. I probably would shift a few albums around on my top albums list. It would be really hard for me to pick the top 3. For myself Destroyer, Rock n Roll Over and Love Gun were always my favorite. I first "heard" Kiss when I was like 10 and they were already "past their 70's Prime". I took a lot of crap in the 80's as a teen for liking Kiss when bands like Def Leppard, Motley Crue or even Metallica or Slayer were ruling metal sounds. While I don't dislike Tommy or Eric as players or even their personalities, I have a HUGE problem with the original make up thing. I get it, it is business and sometimes ego's or personalities clash which is why I had no problem being right there in the non-makeup days. But the "it's characters and anyone can be one" is stupid. To me it's half a cover band. If they would have given them new make-up would have been there till the end. BTW thanks for posting and it is awesome to see a younger person into classic hard rock / metal (new or old). Rock on.
Love the different takes on these albums. I agree with you basically on ALL your opinions on the specific songs you mentioned. Personally though I love Creatures, The Elder and Unmasked and would have them higher. I wish I appreciated their first 3 albums like you do. Totally agree with your #1. Great video!
I saw that tour and honestly I didn’t like this album but any chance to see Kiss. That tour was kinda tame. No makeup, stage show wasn’t great. Plus was Nugent opened for them and he’s great live. I wouldn’t put it last but it’s in my bottom 5.
1. Destroyer (1976) 2. Hotter Than Hell (1974) 3. KISS (1974) 4. Dressed to Kill (1975) 5. Rock and Roll Over (1976) 6. Creatures of The Night (1982) 7. Dynasty (1979) 8. Ace Frehley (1978) 9. I agree with most of your order. It's refreshing seeing someone your age championing them like you do, but you 100% get it and they grabbed you the same way they did every other KISS fan. Technically I'm one of the younger generation of KISS fans as when I discovered them the album at the time was Revenge. First time I saw them in person was at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel for the Official Miami KISS Konvention in 1995, my first 2 shows were on the Reunion tour in both Miami and Memphis in 96 and 97. Since then I've seen them a total of 24 times. They really hold a special place in my heart, but I have the same mindset as Ace and Peter where the marketing and over promotion with stupid merchandise made them a parody of themselves. However their impact is still there and I'm glad that they finally put it to bed. Wish Eric Carr was still here, as he and Ace are my favorite members. Tears are Falling would have to be my all time favorite KISS track although not the first song you think of when you think of KISS. Congrats on giving this gen x'er renewed faith in music fans your age, you have rocking taste brother!🤟
First I'm hoping you read this my young brother....for starters I love your passion for our Favorite band Kiss! That's kickass seeing a young brother digging Kiss. I'm coming from old guard as a fan since a little kid in 1977. Really was completely crazy by 1978 when 3 days before Halloween 1978 Phatom of the Park came on our tv sets that if we were lucky had 4 channels tops, no satellite tv, no cable yet, no wifi....I'm sure you know when shit was invented lol...obviously no internet...so the film was awesome to a young Kiss can into Kiss , monsters, aliens, and Star Wars!!! The Kiss lunch box for school lunches. That Halloween would forever solidify Halloween and Kiss as favorite things. Every poster hung on my walls, I had every record and from Alive 2 on I got the new records the day they came out....i was in high school 87-91 so Motley girls, girls, girls, Kiss Crazy Nights, Poison Look what cat dragged in and Open Up were huge, Hysteria, Ratt Detonator, GNR Appetite, Skid Row debut, Metallica and justice for all, and Dr Feelgood by Motley, and Alice Cooper Trash were all some of the new albums my friends and I jammed.....but Kiss has always remained high at the top for me by themselves!!! Great video!
And ....lol I saw Kiss live in all eras and by far my favorite stage production is the final leg 19th to the last show ever on October 29 2023!!! Austin , Texas an absolute incredible show. Paul sang live on the tour with backing tracks to help fill in the sound of his voice. Been in stage production and sound my life....however in Austin he gave it a go with very little support and Dec 2 he let it loose best he could live. Even songs he used to rely on help he sang live. I think his very last one it was important to him to go out that way. For 72 almost and just getting over being really sick I thought he did good as possible. Love to see what the future holds with the new era now that they are done playing. Thank you so much for reading my fuckn novels lol and good luck with Accident (great band name by the way) I would love to hear your stuff!!! Happy Holidays
1. Love Gun 2. Rock and Roll Over 3. Creatures of the Night 4. Lick It Up 5. Kiss I have to say I love Danger from Creatures. Great Song imo. Good Video.
The original album Kiss!!! It is the best, didn't get enough respect and love Black Diamond, Strutter, Deuce, Cold Gin, 100 thousand years, and Firehouse!!! Peter and Ace shined like a mother fucker on Black Diamond!!!
Growing up in the 70s the first 3 albums were the best and the real Kiss. Before studio musicians started appearing on their albums. Great points on the Paul 78 solo album which might be my favorite Kiss album in the catalog... Revenge is definitely my favorite non makeup album and I play it as much as i play their makeup albums.. if i only owned 5 Kiss albums they'd be..HtH,Paul's 78,Revenge, Dynasty and Double platinum
Some personal observations. Not a full ranking...... First album......so cool. Great songs. Dressed to Kill......thats how to do a record. 30 minutes of face melting two and a half minute songs. Unmasked....... controversial i know. My favourite at this point in my life. Ace 78 solo.......what can you say? Phenomenal.
Kiss was my 1st fave band, along with Alice Cooper and Mötley Crüe! Here’s my list: 1. Destroyer (1976) 2. Rock and Roll Over (1976) 3. Ace Frehley (1978) 4. KISS (1974) 5. Creatures Of The Night (1982) 6. Love Gun (1977) 7. Hotter Than Hell (1974) 8. Revenge (1992) 9. Dynasty (1979) 10. Paul Stanley (1978) 11. Lick It Up (1983) 12. Psycho Circus (1998) 13. Animalize (1984) 14. Carnival of Souls (1997) 15. Unmasked (1980) 16. Asylum (1985) 17. Hot in the Shade (1989) 18. Gene Simmons (1978) 19. Dressed to Kill (1975) 20. Sonic Boom (2009) 21. Peter Criss (1978) 22. Monster (2012) 23. Music From The Elder (1981) 24. Crazy Nights (1987)
A well balanced review! I respect your picks of Destroyer and Creatures. Both albums are overrated in my opinion because both albums have some weak songs on them. Your top 10 are great picks. Awesome review! Rock on bro!
your top picks are very Good, how ever i think Crazy Nights is WAY Better than carnival of souls & Monster. Those 2 are the Worst lps they ever did. I got into Kiss in 1987 SO Crazy Night was a Good one. But Yes Lick it up was Better.
I'm actually gonna post my updated KISS ranking in a couple weeks... but though our lists are a bit different there is alot you said here that I agree with... Paul, despite him making a fool of himself, has always been my favorite member....if I'd have been around in the 70s I'd have totally been rocking the Paul face paint! Destroyer was my long time favorite album but has sunk for me lately despite being home to my all time favorite KISS song, King of the Night Time World
Love Gun RnR Over Lick It Up Dynasty Creatures of the Night Hotter than Hell Destroyer Asylum Unmasked KISS TOP TEN. The rest: Hot in the Shade The Elder Revenge Animalize Dressed to Kill Carnival of Souls Crazy Nights Psycho Circus Sonic Boom Monster To be fair I'm not totally familiar with the final two albums. SOLO ALBUMS Paul Ace Gene Peter Alive! Is the best live album Double Platinum is the best compilation but I'm not familiar with any compilation that came out after 1990.
So right about nobody hates them more than the fans! I feel all sorts of torn. I always thought they ranked chronologically until whenever Gene gave up acting? Maybe 1991? 1990? 1989? Then they seemed to be excited to meet fans and see boobs again as a group of 4. In hindsight I rank them 1.KISS 2.Hotter than Hell 3.Dressed to Kill 4.revenge 5. Carnival of Souls. Only time the band was a 4piece band. The rest of my list doesn’t matter because the point has been made. The lyrics stayed ridiculous most of the time but the band was not a band except around the time before ALIVE! And around the touring time for ALIVE3
Happy to see a youngster still loving the Great's...I am 52 and I still have hair down to me ass....still playing my Guitar Got an ESP EX 50 it's an explorer have a Jackson king V army mate Green...I have like four more not gonna get into my gear I have a lot..lol....😂....so happy to see a young dude with a killer collection of vinyl.... Keep on keeping on Broski...and your hair stop brushing it get out the shower shake it dry and use a big tooth comb shake it and let it dry naturally....Brother...just a tip for ya ...peace ...
I don't hate Tommy and Eric, they're doing what is asked of them. I simply wish they had either gone without the makeup or come up with their designs for their time in the band. Much like Vincent and Carr had when they first joined. I really wish they had brought Ace/Peter back for one show or even just Rock and Roll all Nite on the last show. I think it would have been a proper send off for the band. As far as your ranking goes, quite surprising to me but I respect your opinion. Don't recall seeing Lick it Up though.
I agree Eddie made the best albums with Kiss. His first Kiss demo sounds better than the finished and released album the public heard. They need to release the demo on vinyl.
My parents gave me the Ace solo album when i was 7 years old. It was the first album of my life. The first song was rip it out. That was it, i was sold into the hole kiss thing. Imagine if my parents gave me the peter criss solo album 😂. I guess i was lucky 😊
This is my opinion and I know many people will disagree with me but I think the best KISS album even though they all did not play on it but it still carries the KISS name is Ace Frehley's 78 solo album. To me it's the best release under the KISS name
Mine are as a 57-year-old Kiss fan from 1974 to 78 then I was finished with them the disco album turned me off but to be fair Ace and Peter have some good songs on it. Number 1 Hotter than Hell number 2 Dressed to Kill number 3 Kiss number 4 Rockin roll over number 5 Love Gun number 6 destroyer But Alive is tied for first and Alive 2 is tied for second. I stopped listening after Dynasty. Although Domino was a great tune they played in bars at the time and I thought it rocked.
Kiss' best albums are the first six. Kiss Hotter than Hell Dressed to Kill Destroyer Rock and Roll Over Love Gun And among these six, the best one depends on the day of the week. :-) The rest comes later.
That was my list back in the day but today I have Number 1 Hotter than Hell number 2 Dressed to Kill number 3 Kiss number 4 Rockin roll over number 5 Love Gun number 6 Destroyer But Alive is tied for First and Alive 2 is tied for second.
Everybody talks about how much they love Ace and then pick Rock and Roll Over as their favorite. The ONLY Kiss album that he had no writing credits on.
I got about 4 or 5 copies of Dressed to kill..You can obviously have one..I got double and even quadruple copies of all the 70’s and have atleast one copy of all of em
If "I Finally Found My Way" is the worst KISS song then "Nothin Can Keep me From You" is absolutely the worst song of ANY band!!! Good Ranking! Love Ace!!💪💪
I love the songs on Rock And Roll Over and Love Gun, but the production on both are thin. I wish Kramer produced those albums the way he produced the studio side of Alive II. It's probably why all of the Kramer produced songs sound better on the remix found on Double Platinum.
Great list.. I finally finished the discography and list today. Excluding the solo albums. We have some similarities but a bunch of differences. 20. Dynasty 19. Music from the Elder 18. Sonic Boom 17. Hotter than Hell 16. Creatures of the Night 15. Dressed to Kill 14. Psycho Circus 13. Animalize 12. Hot in the Shade 11. Monster 10. Revenge 9. Unmasked 8. Carnival of Souls 7. Crazy Nights 6. Asylum 5. Kiss 4. Lick It Up 3. Destroyer 2. Love Gun 1. Rock and Roll Over
Brother you have got one healthy head of hair. Enjoy it. Carnival of Souls WAS a filler album for the time. Obviously Gene and Paul were grasping for musical relevance in the waning days of grunge. The Elder to this day is an unrealized possibility, no tour and 'World Without Hero's' is still one of the weakest KISS songs put to radio. Unmasked is where hardcore KISS fans of the 70s lost interest, especially no tour in North America. The Asylum tour had three different stages, and oddly the Animalize tour never came east of Winnipeg in Canada. I'm partial to Love Gun as that was my 1st rock concert in my life back in '77. I'm impressed by a young guy choosing Dressed to Kill and Hotter Than Hell as his top KISS albums in his collection. Well done.
im a huge kiss fan but bruce im ok with replacing ace but a lot of those albums without ace or peter i go uggghh no way im seeing thayer and the newest drummer
I Finally Found My Way To You may be schlock but I think Read My Body is the worst. Such a blatant, shameless Def Leppard ripoff. Half of Hot In The Shade is really good in my opinion, but the other half is straight dog shit. In any case, nice list- a little unusual. The debut tops my list and HITS brings up the rear. I find it hard to make a definitive list because my mood shifts from time to time but I could definitely do a tier list. I don't really hate any album per se but some of them will just never make it out of C Tier- y'know?
kiss 1 best.... not even close. it's really that simple. black diamond - 100,00 years - cold gin - deuce - strutter - fire house... how is this even a question?
Hotter than Hell is my favorite if I had to pick. I do like "Magic Touch" off of Dynasty. "World Without Heros" is good off of The Elder. Other than that, I dislike Kiss. They're overrated. I prefer bands like Rush and Iron Maiden.

1. Love Gun
2. Rock and Roll Over
3. Creatures of the Night
4. Lick It Up
5. Kiss
I have to say I love Danger from Creatures.
Phenomenal.
Unmasked is my #1
Man I love this....there's hope for the younger gen after all.....R & R Over kicks ass, and Dressed To Kill right up there too man....keep the faith!
Kiss was my 1st fave band, along with Alice Cooper and Mötley Crüe! Here’s my list:

21. Peter Criss (1978)
22. Monster (2012)
23. Music From The Elder (1981)
24. Crazy Nights (1987)
A well balanced review! I respect your picks of Destroyer and Creatures. Both albums are overrated in my opinion because both albums have some weak songs on them. Your top 10 are great picks. Awesome review! Rock on bro!
Great video, Sir! Best wishes!
your top picks are very Good, how ever i think Crazy Nights is WAY Better than carnival of souls & Monster. Those 2 are the Worst lps they ever did.
I got into Kiss in 1987 SO Crazy Night was a Good one. But Yes Lick it up was Better.
So do you believe now that "the end of the road tour" has ended that KISS will actual hang it up for good?
I sure hope so, if they announce any more shows or tours, I won’t support it
@@brysonlinksame here. They are playing to tracks now and I just can't get behind that
I'm actually gonna post my updated KISS ranking in a couple weeks... but though our lists are a bit different there is alot you said here that I agree with... Paul, despite him making a fool of himself, has always been my favorite member....if I'd have been around in the 70s I'd have totally been rocking the Paul face paint! Destroyer was my long time favorite album but has sunk for me lately despite being home to my all time favorite KISS song, King of the Night Time World
Love Gun
RnR Over
Lick It Up
Dynasty
Creatures of the Night
Hotter than Hell
Destroyer
Asylum
Unmasked
KISS
TOP TEN.
The rest: Hot in the Shade
The Elder
Revenge
Animalize
Dressed to Kill
Carnival of Souls
Crazy Nights
Psycho Circus
Sonic Boom
Monster
To be fair I'm not totally familiar with the final two albums.
SOLO ALBUMS
Paul
Ace
Gene
Peter
Alive! Is the best live album
Double Platinum is the best compilation but I'm not familiar with any compilation that came out after 1990.
Noway Paul over Ace
So right about nobody hates them more than the fans! I feel all sorts of torn. I always thought they ranked chronologically until whenever Gene gave up acting? Maybe 1991? 1990? 1989? Then they seemed to be excited to meet fans and see boobs again as a group of 4. In hindsight I rank them
1.KISS
2.Hotter than Hell
3.Dressed to Kill
4.revenge
5. Carnival of Souls.
Only time the band was a 4piece band.
The rest of my list doesn’t matter because the point has been made. The lyrics stayed ridiculous most of the time but the band was not a band except around the time before ALIVE! And around the touring time for ALIVE3
That dangerous toys album is a gem.I remember buying dangerous toys spread eagle and love/hate blackout in the red room at almost the same time
Happy to see a youngster still loving the Great's...I am 52 and I still have hair down to me ass....still playing my Guitar Got an ESP EX 50 it's an explorer have a Jackson king V army mate Green...I have like four more not gonna get into my gear I have a lot..lol....😂....so happy to see a young dude with a killer collection of vinyl.... Keep on keeping on Broski...and your hair stop brushing it get out the shower shake it dry and use a big tooth comb shake it and let it dry naturally....Brother...just a tip for ya ...peace ...
I've watched a handful of these, and I got to say yours is more different than any I've seen. Felt almost random! 😆
Yes! Rock n' Roll Over is NUMBER ONE! Couldn't agree more!
Pretty darn close to my list. I like first 6 studio and alive 1 & 2. Then creatures and lick it up. Dynasty. Then the grunge kiss….carnival of souls.
Agreed man on the makeup thing, lick it up was at 6!
👍🎸🇨🇵
Self titled
Rock n roll over
Dressed to kill
Love gun
Destroyer
Hotter than hell
Dynasty
Creatures of the night
I agree, you have the best list!!! 👌
1. Destroyer 2. Unmasked 3. Dressed to kill 4. Dynasty 5. Hotter than hell 5. RnR Over
Eddie Kramer + KISS = Gold
I agree Eddie made the best albums with Kiss. His first Kiss demo sounds better than the finished and released album the public heard. They need to release the demo on vinyl.
Nice to see DTK ranked so high! It’s No. 1 for me. Your copy looks fantastic. Well worn for good reason!
Hotter than Hell is fantastic
You wrong about Dirty Livin. Can't fault you on anything else 😎😍🥁
That top pick is spot on.
Im a huge alice fan also and kiss Im mostly into there 70s stuff only 80s album I like from them is creature's of the night and unmasked
Dangerous Toys you opened for what is your bands name My old band is called TWITCH..From .Port saint Lucie Florida....
My band is called Axecident!
My top 10 list
Creatures of the night
Hot in the shade
Asylum
Crazy nights
Dynasty
Love gun
Destroyer
Kiss
Animalize
Lick it up
Brother I agree with most but COTN too low u right great cover I just got the lithograph
Cheer's for the post...
It was going so well until Creatures Of The Night at 12. Ouch!
Solid rankings
Awesome 👏 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Dude. You are right. And you look like my era. You were born 40 years late.
🤘
Mine are as a 57-year-old Kiss fan from 1974 to 78 then I was finished with them the disco album turned me off but to be fair Ace and Peter have some good songs on it. Number 1 Hotter than Hell number 2 Dressed to Kill number 3 Kiss number 4 Rockin roll over number 5 Love Gun number 6 destroyer But Alive is tied for first and Alive 2 is tied for second. I stopped listening after Dynasty. Although Domino was a great tune they played in bars at the time and I thought it rocked.
Kiss' best albums are the first six.
Kiss
Hotter than Hell
Dressed to Kill
Destroyer
Rock and Roll Over
Love Gun
And among these six, the best one depends on the day of the week. :-)
The rest comes later.
Throw in dynasty unmasked and elder...and that list is all we need
My #2 is rock n roll over and my #1 is hotter than hell. We are pretty close in rankings except I hold crazy nights ( I know,I know) in my top 5.
A new video! Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks man! More to come!
The elder #18…..good day sir 😂
Way too keyboard heavy. I love the ballad Reason To Live. Master and Slave off of Carnival of Souls is terrific. I love that song.
Fascinating
If "I Finally Found My Way" is the worst KISS song then "Nothin Can Keep me From You" is absolutely the worst song of ANY band!!!
Good Ranking! Love Ace!!💪💪
I dig that song only bc of how much I love the movie Detroit Rock City
I love the songs on Rock And Roll Over and Love Gun, but the production on both are thin. I wish Kramer produced those albums the way he produced the studio side of Alive II. It's probably why all of the Kramer produced songs sound better on the remix found on Double Platinum.
AWESOME!!.. THANKS!!🤟👌
great video thanks
Goated top 2 picks.
Awesome tshirtttt wow
Keep vids coming
Hot In The Shade is totally underrated in my opinion and ranking Crazy Nights bottom is ridiculous.
Nice Job Good sir 👍👍
Wow youth gone KISS !!!!! #1 Creatures #2 Destroyer #3 Revenge.....very smart grasshopper Def leppard had a musical vasectomy after 83
Lost count of how many times he said ‘you know’ after the 30th time….
Great list.. I finally finished the discography and list today. Excluding the solo albums. We have some similarities but a bunch of differences.
20. Dynasty
19. Music from the Elder
18. Sonic Boom
17. Hotter than Hell
16. Creatures of the Night
15. Dressed to Kill
14. Psycho Circus
13. Animalize
12. Hot in the Shade
11. Monster
10. Revenge
9. Unmasked
8. Carnival of Souls
7. Crazy Nights
6. Asylum
5. Kiss
4. Lick It Up
3. Destroyer
2. Love Gun
Well done.
@@channelsurfer3710 Interesting.
Agree w/ #1 and my first record I bought in '77. Got me into music.
im a huge kiss fan but bruce im ok with replacing ace but a lot of those albums without ace or peter i go uggghh no way im seeing thayer and the newest drummer
join us........
No love for Dirty Livin?
I saw Kiss in 1977 Have not seen anything better since including the 79 dynasty tour what a disappointment
You forgot smashes thrashes
Dirty living and ace songs are the hest of dynasty..
As soon as Crazy Nights was the worst album… the video was over Wtf lol
Killer rules
RNROLL OVER YOU LIKE BETTER THAN ALIVE!
Agreed! It changes constantly to what I’m into at the moment!
kiss 1 best.... not even close. it's really that simple. black diamond - 100,00 years - cold gin - deuce - strutter - fire house... how is this even a question?
I love ya shit
Kiss only has 20 studio albums not 24. The 4 solo albums are not Kiss albums.
I count them as KISS albums, they came out while all members were in the band, have the KISS logo on them and are on Casablanca.
Hotter than Hell is my favorite if I had to pick. I do like "Magic Touch" off of Dynasty. "World Without Heros" is good off of The Elder. Other than that, I dislike Kiss. They're overrated.
I prefer bands like Rush and Iron Maiden.
