HX Stomp is still king 👑 I used to run the Stomp as an all in one, and it was fantastic. It ended up selling it because i thought I needed more and got a Helix Floor. After playing the Helix for about a year now, I love the effects in there but find myself being drawn to amp in the box pedals like the UA pedals, Tonex, or even the updated ACS1 with tone factor IR’s. Now, I’m contemplating a small board with a Stomp for my effects, along with an amp pedal, and then just control things with a midi controller and a remote switch. I 100% agree with you, this is one of the best times to be a guitar player with how the market is!
I think with all these options for good tone, it is even more crucial for modern day guitar players to be able to fully commit to gear and learn how to use what you have. All these options give great tone but also gear acquisition syndrome. At the end of the day, people should buy whatever works for them, and further polish your tone by simply getting better at the instrument from a musical/skill perspective.
Yea I completely agree. I think picking something that has the features and interface that works for you and really going deep with it. That’s kinda what I’ve done with Tonex and I’m really happy with it.
Hx stomp is still to beat, adding tonex one in the fx loop to serve as your amp to free up some dsp and integrate capture tech to a very versatile hx stomp seems to be the best option. IMO
To me the most important is sound accuracy vs my own amp and captures I made. NAM > ToneX > Nano Cortex >> Kemper stage. The worst is undoubtedly the Kemper, all the high gain have this fuzzy feel I don’t like and cannot reproduce the real feel and sound. Kemper also add unnecessary compressor to all profiles to make them more pleasing to play, but it’s killing the original amp feel and play, and make it harder to mix. Some companies did it back in the days, the added compression in their digital units to make them cool to play in guitar stores.
I am excited with the variety of pedals available.. so many features- companies trying to differentiate their products etc.. its too bad there isn't a way to get a hold of all of them for a month or so and then make a choice....or is there? lol
Off-topic, but thanks for your free "Fender Deluxe Reverb" Tonex captures!
Thanks so much!!!
Great Vid!

Yea that’s a great setup.
No need to Upgrade the Kemper Player, the stock level 1 unit has a ton of FX, etc.
And it will het free Updates for the next decade.
Yep

Still more bands touring the world with Kempers than any other digital box.

😂 I guess you could return them. It would be cool to have them all next to each other.
Tonex won this war!
