@@PaulLembo i don’t get that response dude. If it’s not a problem for you fine, for me it is, I use long trails and it ruins the moment when I have a solo where I play long delays and then switch to a different sound for the chorus again. Don’t you get that like at all ?
@@JohnnyRaven69 It's got a screen and more knobs so it's much easier to make adjustments on the device. You can switch out cabs on the big one without software, for instance. The big one has MIDI and additional outputs. Some people have hacked the little one so they can change patches using a footswitch but it's experimental. I got the little one just to test it out really. I think it sounds great.
You can use a delay pedal or any pedals (before and after) the TONEX, in the pedal chain. Then just come out the last output in your pedal chain and go to an amps return with an cabinet, or without and amp and cab, and go directly into a mixer or your interface. I use mine both ways and run directly to my Zoom L-20 Mixer.

I recently just got tone x one... Late to the party. But after i tried the full tone x pedal i was blown away. In the loop of any power amp, HX loop, or any effect loop of any modeler tone x is absolutely crushing the competition. Way to go IK Media and thanks for the demo Jared

Ironically, re: the recent news of the Kemper player's controversial (and expensive!) paid updates, I've actually kind of been saving up for an expected ToneX-2 hardware pedal that would have built-in effects that I'd expect to be somewhere in the $500 range and a good value at that! Now, as a current ToneX user, everything extra I wanted I get to have for FREE(???!!) Holy crap! Kemper, Take notes....
@@waynespradley6972 thanks for commenting. I told my contacts there the same thing. I suggested that they try to remedy that issue. It might be a DSP issue though. We'll see what happens. They got back with me and said they have passed that information to the appropriate people. I don't think it's a deal-breaker but it would be nice if they took care of that. All that said, I think they did a great job with this update and I think this is going to be a huge thing for a lot of people.
Started playing in 1985. My rig now is a 2017 9" iPad running AUM and TONEX and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. My back does NOT hurt loading in so I can help the drummer :). Sounds great and will check out your captures. Best Regards and Best Wishes!

If Kemper had gone with the $700 Player with full functionality, which they could have easily done since they already had that software, it would probably be the best selling guitar rig of all time, but they made a very poor choice and now I think the Tonex with the new effects will be one of the best selling guitar processors of all time!
Thanks for the video! I'm now even more stoked for my full sized Tonex coming this week! Snagged on Prime Day. I'm really hoping I like this unit. I picked up a Helix LT, but not sure I'm getting along with it. Which leads me to the best way to monitor these units and prevent that digital top end fizz and over bass production. I'd appreciate real world feedback. Currently got a Headrush FRFR 108 (someone needs to tell them what flat response really means), and a 2x12 cab w/ V30's but no power amp right now.
I'm for sure grabbing this and possibly a nano cortex as well! Hands down I'm purchasing amp/cab captures from you. You always capture these amps with such realistic fidelity and fullness!!!!

To my ears, I've heard some crazy awesome metal tones from every major platform, modeling and profile/capture both, with neither being a clear winner at all...i.e. the jury is still out, imho at least.

I’ve owned almost all these damn units at one point with the exception of the newest ones. Depending on the mood that I’m in, I will pick up or play on a particular piece of gear doesn’t matter whether I own both of them or several of them. So whether I need both of them or not, if I want both of them and I can afford them, I’ll be the one making that damn decision.🤣🤦🏻♂️

I think @tonewarsgearshow was the way I learned about the badlander Mr. Scary. But they were backlogged when I called them but told me our local shop (motor city guitar) was getting some in, so I placed my order :) now gotta get the capture for when my white Tonex comes in!
Both pedals are a killer deal. I wish the Tonex One could do reverb and delay. Might get the big pedal. This update with the effects changes my mind about them.
Regardless of anything, with this update the One becomes the ultimate complete pocket backup rig. Even if editing the parameters directly on the tiny pedal is limited or impossible, it's at least a usable preset top quality wet/dry duo of tones to get you through the rest of a gig right there that you can carry in the pocket of a gig bag.

Didn't realize it was stereo delay, I'm assuming u have to use both outputs into other pedals with dual inputs to get stereo?... The EVH chorus i use after the tonex is mono input with stereo outs 😢, that's why i like the EVH, it's more of a still chorus than swirl wash type
How do these compare to your tube amps? As far as feel and brutality? Decapitated has a song called Spheres of Madness. 51 seconds in this grind tone starts and occurs throughout the song. I'm going insane trying to find a way to get that tone lol. Awesome info and playing as usual.

it's insane you are right , IK's pedals are killers at the moment now I would say for a live situation I would use a pedalboard for effects controlling tonex by midi in the effect loop as the amp but anyway it's cheaper and killer compared to expensive devices and the onboard effects are really good. For people playing gigs with only their one amp sound without any pedal or just one or two I guess a single tonex One will make the job ...and it fits in a poket.
Since I got mine at Xmas, I've been saying that it's basically a multi-effect that doesn't delay or modulate. And BOY you're not wrong when you say we didn't see this coming. It's a truly self contained rig that models any amp, fuzz, OD, or distortion. Just add power amp! So does it save the entire patch with the effects you dialed in, like most multi-effects do?
I believe it goes live in November sometime. They're just putting the finishing touches on it right now. I'm going live with my presets tonight at 7:00

Why don't you do 2 captures, one with overdrive pedal, one without. That way you can just switch between presets instead of using the extra tonex one pedal. Or do you think that wouldn't sound the same?
Do you have a capture of the JEL Mr. Scary with the mudd killer ? I use MIDI so the boost would have be baked-in. Are you interested in the stainless steel Ernie Ball strings ?
So now the tonex has modulation effects... Can you alter the signal chain to emulate modulations to sound like it would in an fxloop on a real amp? Or are they in front of the signal? I don't have a tonex so I have no clue
I checked the IK product manager and downloaded the latest tonex, still don't see the update with effects. The app says the last firmware is 1.7.5(App) and 1.3.3(Pedal). Which version has the effects?

While the update won't affect Kemper that much, it certainly will affect NeuralDSP, because now their product does everything the NanoCortex does and it costs less. Some people might mention the capture aspect but personally I don't think that should even be a feature at this price point. Have you seen how long it takes for the NanoCortex to do a single capture?
The length of time for the captures probably isn't what deters people, it's the fact most people don't have a lot of expensive amps or rare amps to capture. Most people are going to play captures made by others.

IMO, that shouldn't even be a relevant feature or a feature at all at this price point. And with this new TONEX update, it further pushes this point.
Kemper and Neural will have these same effects soon enough, as well. TBH, I heard the TONEX amp library a few months ago and honestly didn't like any of them. The Marshall and Mesa amps sounded nothing like the ones I've played and owned (even after tweaking paramaters)
There are lots of crappy captures for sure. Another problem could be the input gain on the plugin is way too low. Try cranking it up full and everything starts sounding better.
Chorus and delay are great, however, NEVER chorus with distortion or amp drive. It sounds unnatural and washed out. Only on pristine clean tones. Yuck!!
Im good Id rather the FX be on a sepperate platform. This is only making something that is already complicated and hardly usable to an even more complicated and even less usable device. They need to clean up the software and make it simple to use. You know like all the other modelers have? I see a Nano Cortex in my future this update I dont think, is going to cut it for me. If I can not grab and amp, model it and experiment with it in the software through my device and then through my gear in five minutes time its crap. Ive spent hours with Tone X software and after you grab a few amps and cant get what you are looking for its too overwhelming to ,keep looking.
The problem I see with this you have to have a capture box lf you want to capture your own apps or you have to purchase other people's captures I think either way they.get you I think more people need to be aware of this before they make the purchase you notice he sure plugging his the headrush only takes a couple of mins to capture I have the Core a thecost is alittle more but it beats the Kemper line6 is In my opinion just terrible I think the head rush is the easiest to use everything out of all of them to make
Kemper comes out with paid upgrades, Neural comes out with the Nano Cortex...meanwhile, IK multimedia says.....hold my beer!

Tonex is definitely going in the right direction. Lack of spillover from preset to preset is an issue for my live use.

Tonex needs to give you the opportunity to have real stereo output. I mean that they allow you to go out in one with IR and go out with the other dry.

Chorus and delay are great, however, NEVER chorus with distortion or amp drive. It sounds unnatural and washed out. Only on pristine clean tones. Yuck!!

Im good Id rather the FX be on a sepperate platform. This is only making something that is already complicated and hardly usable to an even more complicated and even less usable device. They need to clean up the software and make it simple to use. You know like all the other modelers have? I see a Nano Cortex in my future this update I dont think, is going to cut it for me. If I can not grab and amp, model it and experiment with it in the software through my device and then through my gear in five minutes time its crap. Ive spent hours with Tone X software and after you grab a few amps and cant get what you are looking for its too overwhelming to ,keep looking.

The problem I see with this you have to have a capture box lf you want to capture your own apps or you have to purchase other people's captures I think either way they.get you I think more people need to be aware of this before they make the purchase you notice he sure plugging his the headrush only takes a couple of mins to capture I have the Core a thecost is alittle more but it beats the Kemper line6 is In my opinion just terrible I think the head rush is the easiest to use everything out of all of them to make
