The guitar he plays here was Albert Kings guitar Joe has the largest collection of antique guitars and Amps in the world.. Also if I may listen to his live song. ANGEL OF MERCY David. BC Canada
Dave, on the guitar collection- go on utube it's all there. His story too. He performed as a child for BB King.( iconic blues guitarist singer years and years ago) He was blown away on Joes skill set then. He was a kid music genius on guitar. Now the keyboard man is a legend also( Reese Wynans who was Stevie Ray Vaughns keys player). One of the back up singers is Australian iconic singer Jimmy Barnes daughter Mahalia Barnes. Joe wears the sunglasses on stage only because the lights bother his eyes. Oh yes, a couple weekends and then repeat of Beth... so happy right now you listened and loved Joe... more more please.
Dave, he does. There is an interview on this. He keeps them in a big storage place. That's his jam. He has bought quite a few of those guitars after their passing. Ohhhhh and that's Reese Wynans on keys. He was with SRV band then came over to Joe's team when Stevie died. What a present for Joe ..❤
Joe is basically Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, Danny Gatton, BB and Albert King rolled into one... His vocabulary and bag of tricks is unmatched, plus he is a fantastic LIVE musician, this makes him one of the top 5 all time in my book
I managed to go to one of his concerts over in the Capitol theater in Portchester and it was Awesome definitely one of my favorite concerts I had the great pleasure of going to
The bass player was/ is a studio musician in nashville for many(15?) yrs., and is credited with playing on more albums than any other musician. Even Joe's Flying V guitar is famous. Itwas Albert King's( King was left-handed, so his name appears on the fretboard upside down( Joe being right handed).
Joe B, IMHO grabbed the "live album GOAT" from Peter Framptom (Frampton Comes Alive) when he played "Royal Albert Hall"!!! Watch it all!!!! Fan-tastic!!!
@@luiskarnov6131 Funny you should say that. She will be Reacting to one that I suggested, but not on our LIVESTREAM, since it's a 10 minute jam at Red Rocks in Colorado where I live. So I will keep reminding her to do that. Thx
This man is extremely talented. Love his live stuff. Check out his stuff he did with Beth Hart. I'd Rather go Blind, I'll Take Care of You and more from their concert in Amsterdam. That was one of the best live shows I have seen and I have been to over 175 shows....cheers
As a poster mentions below, he is playing Albert King's "Lucy" in this song that was also Albert's originally. Albert was left handed so he is playing Lucy upside down which was challenging since all the tone/volume knobs are above the strings instead of below. So his arm kept bumping against them so not only uncomfortable but he had to keep adjusting them back to where he needed them.
Beth and Joe did three albums together . Joe toured with BB King at 12 . Joe and Beth did I'll take care of you you .... awesome. Also did A tribute to Lazy with Jimmy Barnes. I think he's played with everyone. Gotta check out his Zeppelin sonhs too Cheers
He was the starter at concerts for bb king at an age of 12 years old I am a 48 year old rocker but this guy and other blues legends are my second love😂 Greetings from the netherlands
Love Joe Bonamassa, another one from this same concert is "Breaking Up Somebody's Home" is fantastic as well. He is a child prodigy. At age 9 he was already in a band with guys 20 years older than him, and by age 12 he was touring with BB King. He is amazing!! One of the top 10 guitarists in the world. You should play more of Joe.
Joe’s precision as a player is insane. He’s been named the best Blues Guitarist in the world recently. BTW… Joe owns over 500 guitars, some worth upwards of $500,000.00! Some of Joe’s guitars were played by icons, but 99% of what he acquires are for their tone and playability. Joe is just a beast!
Joe was playing Albert King's guitar "Lucy" for this song. It was loaned to him for this tour by Steven Seagal. This was the final show in Joe's "3 Kings" tour, featuring the music of Albert King, B.B. King, and Freddie King. Joe has a huge collection of guitars and amps on his own. As he's touring, he frequently goes on what he calls a "guitar safari" where he picks up some more vintage guitars for his collection. Here's a "rig rundown" from 2022, where he talks about some of the gear he's using on his tour. He knows the story behind each of his guitars. th-cam.com/video/GuVfNjuz2XM/w-d-xo.html
What many younger guys don't know, Most of the 60's British invasion bands, were heavily influence from old American blues Players. The list is long, but for even Black Sabath Osbourne, Butler, Iommi, and Ward, schoolmates in Birmingham in the late 1960s, formed the blues bands, Polka, Tulk, and Earth. These evolved into Black Sabbath. Many rock players from the 70's and 80's were also influenced by the blues directly or inspired by earlier rock guitarist who were influenced by the blues. Rock was the evelotion of blues music and metal was the evolution of rock.
I liked your reaction to joe, believe or not he thinks his collection down some a while back, said that he had to many. He said that doing that would let others injoy them. Also the one that he used on the reaction was a left handed one witch owned by muddy waters , who passed some time ago. The family let him use it for the tour. He said that it was hard to play because his sleeves kept turning knobs and flipping switches. Injoyed the reaction, till later......randy c.
He has more than one guitar for every day of the year. Some are worth more than half a million dollars it’s insane. But that’s Joe he is a genius. Nobody better on the planet ❤❤❤
Yes, do a weekend of Joe Bonamassa live songs. He has more live albums than any other artist I know so there is so much to choose from. Sloe Gin is a song that I particularly love, there are at least two official live videos on his TH-cam page JoeBonamassaTV.
Listen to Joe Bonamassa signing and playing guitar on Sloe Gin or Joe playing guitar on Too Much ain't enough love with Jimmy Barnes singing. Both amazing tracks.
Thanks DC! Sorry I'm so late to the party! You've landed on one of the best guitarists. Full stop. Period. Joe has been rockin the blues since the early 80s and I didn't hear of him until a few years ago. How sad is that? I've seen a couple comments recommending MOUNTAIN TIME. I've seen several of his interpretations of this epic track, but the one you want to see is "Live from The Beacon" MOUNTAIN TIME (Live at THE BEACON THEATER in New York) is a showcase of his brilliance as a player for sure. I've seen Joe play in a bar one night in Indiana early in his career. There were 10 people in the bar. I've also seen him play at Red Rocks and he sold it out. I've seen him 4 times. Always a great show. This was originally a Albert King song. A great Texas blues man. He always played a Gibson Flying V. I can almost guarantee you the flying V in Joe's hands was once owned by Albert.
I know this was months ago don't know if you'll see it now but he has a collection of 400 guitars and 400 amps. He frequents Normas Rare Guitars in LA since he was 13.
Check out his work with black country communion too. Supergroup with him, Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham and Derek Sherinian. Joe is big in blues rock and black country communion is hard rock
Albert King was left-handed, thus the reason the controls on this "Flying Vee" Gibson are on the top, and Albert's name is upside down. And yes . . . Joe has an extensive collection of antique guitars, a lot of which he uses on stage.
This is a cover of Albert King. Note that the guitar was Albert's monogrammed Flying V. Albert played it left-handed AND upside down. Many things about Joe that I would have commented on have already been said below. He's the real deal man, a child prodigy who opened up about a dozen shows for B.B. King when he was 12 freakin' years old. He's 45 now and has a catalog about a mile deep! The little bit you've heard him on is electric guitar so I'll throw you a curve ball. Here's one track from an entire acoustic concert he did at the Vienna Opera House. Brought his powerful voice with him too! Enjoy: th-cam.com/video/NKE3itL4ApY/w-d-xo.html
If want to see his collection of guitars and amps check out the joe bonamassa nerdville video. His collection and the history is incredible. He’s using Albert kings Flying V in this video
I've seen Joe Bonamassa (Pronounced Bon-A-MASS-a) about 4 times - One time at a small club where he was about 20 feet away. Anyway, he is one of the top living blues guitar players. I also like Walter Trout. Joe's band is top notch, too.
Bonamassa is a true guitar god, he doesn't play the guitar it is part of him and it flows from his soul. If I may suggest, GO SEE HIM LIVE! If you dont get goose bumps, you're a zombie.
The fun part is Beth's career was at a standstill and Joe ask her to go on tour with him and jump started her career again, he loves to help struggling artists , Joe tours all over the world 30 to 40 tour dates a year .his band and backup singers are all legendary blue's performer's try slow train, or going down ,let's Drive ,over 10 albums to choose from ,but b warned its addictive
15 studio records and counting. A few suggestions: Trouble Town, Blue and Evil, I gave up Everything, You Upset Me, What I've Known for a Very Long Time, You Left Me Nothing....... there are many, many more! Thanks for reacting. JB is touring as I type.... don't miss him, don't wait till he is old and grey to go see him. Go see him now!
C’mon dude, time for another Joe Bonamassa reaction! I recommend “Goin’ Down” or “Hummingbird” from this same “Live at the Greek Theatre” concert, or, for something from this past year, “The Loyal Kind” from his “Tales of Time” concert. 👍👍
I love Joe Bonamassa but my favorite version of this song is by Daniel Castro. I have it ranked #2 on my all-time Blues list, right behind "Bluest Blues" by Alvin Lee.
Rip to Michael Rhodes who is the bass player. He's one of the most recorded studio bass players in Nashville. Reese Wynans needs no introduction he was SRV's keys player.
Somewhere Albert King is loving that someone is shredding his Flying V, in 2022-ish.
For a mind blowing performance watch Woke Up Dreaming with Joe Bonamassa on acoustic guitar in a battle with Tina Guo playing the harp
Just a slight correction; Tina Guo is playing the cello.
Us metal heads appreciate ALL music of ALL genres that are original, especially the Blues.

Think you meant at The Beacon?
The guitar he plays here was Albert Kings guitar Joe has the largest collection of antique guitars and Amps in the world.. Also if I may listen to his live song. ANGEL OF MERCY

Reece Winans on keys SRV old keyboard player. His version of breaking up someone's home is the shit.
This is Albert King's Gibson Flying V.

Greatest live guitar I've ever se😊en!
Joe Bonamassa is so frickin' cool 😎

The guitar he's playing was Albert Kings...another old blues guy. The song is from albert.
You have no idea what you are all missing. The greatest blues rock master of all time ❤❤❤❤❤
I have seen Joe three times. One time I was 5 feet away in a little blues bar in Los Angeles. The guy can play!
Royal Albert Hall Live...Well worth the listen. This man is right up there with the best in the business.
If you can, go see him in concert! His whole crew is amazing and he will slay all night!

His guitar collection is outrageous. Not to mention all the amps.
That's an Albert King song, a great blues player...Joe is also playing Albert Kings guitar who has passed on a while ago.
I saw Joe a few years ago in England, my face is still melting
One of Joes best.

he was guest on the Ellen show at very young age and wow could he play guitar

Joe has an enormous collection of guitars. You can search for that on the internet and find him describing them.
If want to see his collection of guitars and amps check out the joe bonamassa nerdville video. His collection and the history is incredible. He’s using Albert kings Flying V in this video
Joe is also a member of a hard rock band, Black Country Communion, with Glen Hughes (ex Dwwp Purple) and Jason Bonham, the great man's son.
You need to listen to "Breaking up somebody's home" The one where he is playing the flying v guitar😮😮 I think it's at the same concert here😅😅
Check out the original from Albert King. He played a Flying V

Did you notice the guitar is upside down? Albert was left handed. It took some getting used to because he'd keep hitting the knobs with his arm.
Check out him playing Angel of Mercy live at Greek Theater
He’s playing the late great Albert Kings guitar.
Sloe Gin at Red Rocks. He is absolutely in control of the audience!
I’m Going Down (li version)

If you're interested in Joe's collection, search for "Nerdville". Joe is a complete crazy collector 🎸
