Don't forget his sound man for this show, that engineer kept everything balanced. he's most likely the individual that made the whole band sound fabulous. And they were fabulous.

Wonderful reaction , the Blues lives. Joe's execution of this tune is terrific. I think what you are all picking up on and Donna is feeling about Joe's playing is Blues execution. It is different to any other genre .It is digging about as deep as you can get and play as if it is the last time you are ever going to play and produce that every time. In other words playing and most importantly self expression is on 100%.You give everything you've got. Joe has that very rare talent and yes you are right, that goes for the whole Band. God Bless the Blues😎

Keeping The Blues Alive! KBA is a foundation founded by Joe dedicated to educating the public on the blues. I think the drummer is Anton Fig. Anton played in the Late Night with David Letterman band.

The guitar he's playing in this video was formerly owned by blues great- Alber King.. The guitar was auctioned off.. But was on loan to Joe for this particular concert I believe. And joes rhythm guitarist Kirk Fletcher is know all over for his solo work in keeping traditional blues and blues with a bit of funk in it alive 😊❤

Joe also collaborates with rock legend Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham (son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham) in a band they call Black Country Reunion. It's more heavy metal in style than the blues/rock that Joe normally does. Some might like that too since it hearkens back to the style of early metal from bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple which Glenn came out of.

Hello ladies, I love your reactions to Joe Bonamassa. He has been my favorite artist for at least the past 10 years. I have seen him perform live 5 times, both with his own band, and also with Black Country Communion. I was fortunate to have been at his final show of his tour at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida last month Dec. 2nd. Was just a fantastic show with new and old songs. I listened to Joe nearly everyday on my commute in the car, until I found a new band I am crazy about - The Warning!! I don't want to make this too long, but I can't stop listening to them now. I saw them live in Boston this past summer August 11th. Just amazing!! Keep up the great work, watch your reactions all the time.

Joe Bonamassa was inspired by Eric Clapton when he played in the band Cream. And Eric Clapton was inspired by B.B.King.Joe played in the Black Country Communion and is an English-American hard rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2009, the band is a supergroup composed of bassist and lead vocalist Glenn Hughes, guitarist and second vocalist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham, and keyboardist Derek Sherinia. The Black Country is an area of England's Midlands. It is mainly urban, covering most of the Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall Metropolitan Boroughs, with the City of Wolverhampton sometimes included. The towns of Dudley and Tipton. The Black Country gained its name in the mid nineteenth century due to the smoke from the many thousands of ironworking foundries and forges plus also the working of the shallow and 30ft thick coal seams. If you have the time please check out Black Country Communion BCC - Song of Yesterday .Thank you and stay safe and all the best from England.

Excellent reaction ladies. As I said before, since the sad passing of Gary Moore, Joe is definitely my favourite guitarist. Incidentally Joe said that Gary Moore "pretty much wrote the songbook that I play now". Meaning that Gary was a huge influence on him.
As someone else pointed out in the comments, here Joe is using the late great Albert King's guitar. Albert was left handed, that is why the controls are at the top of the guitar. Also the guitar is called 'Lucy'.
Regards from across the pond. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦

The whole band is always tight even when members change for one reason or another. They leave room for everyone to shine. That flying V was Albert King's who was left handed so Joe is playing it right handed which is cool. Its wonderful to see you all enjoying the performances. I hope you will look into other songs as well. He has a lot of music, 45 or so albums. One performance with beth hart is at the beacon theater "I'll take Care of You"😊

That guitar was originally owned by Albert King, who was left handed. One of the greatest blues men of the 20th century, RIP Albert and thank you for a lifetime of magic.
Joe is a purist, and so is playing the guitar upside down, rather than change the strings. The guitar is currently valued at over $500,000.

Yes, as you mentioned all of these people on stage lead very successful careers. Got to see JB live a few years back (Go see him NOW b4 he gets old, he is currently on tour)I just love the drum work of Anton Fig who used to play with Late Night David Lettermans band. He has played with many, many mega stars.... Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Joe Cocker, Warren Zevon, and Kiss are only a few. I can't put my finger on why he is my favorite, but he is, by a long shot (Even better than John Bonham). Thanks for reacting. BTW, Joe is playing a "Flying V' guitar made by Dan Erlewine in 1971, owned/played by blues legend Albert King (RIP). The other guitar solo was the renowned blues guitarist Kirk Fletcher who recently suffered a stroke while performing onstage. JB was active in a fundraising auction to help with medical bills.

SIDE NOTE: A blues guitar player/singer, famous to blues fans, that preceded Joe by a decade or two was Albert King. In this song, Joe is playing Albert King's left-handed guitar. You can see Albert's name engraved on the fretboard, upside down (for left-handed Albert), and the volume & tone controls on the top of the body of the guitar instead of the bottom because Joe is playing Albert's left-handed guitar, right-handed. I assume that means Albert King must have died. I believe I saw Joe playing Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitar for a tune or two in another concert.

Great song by one of the best blues guitarists performing today. With Eric Clapton pretty much retired and so many of the greats having passed on Joe's left with carrying on the tradition of blues guitar. I saw him in Fresno CA several years ago doing the concert set list he did on the live DVD from Beacon Theater. The show at the Beacon included Beth Hart, Paul Rodgers from Bad Company and John Haitt. Holy Smokes what a show that is. For sure go to that show and watch Joe and John Haitt do - "Down Around My Place" - - - better put your seatbelts on for that one. Enjoy

  • @SheepsMcgill

You should react to Albert King, thats Alberts guitar Joes playing.
Albert was the first blues player to play alot of the licks you hear people like joe play. Hes a legend, one of the 3 kings of the blues, with BB King and Freddie King.
But albert was the most raw of the bunch. He was Stevie Ray Vaughans mentor in Stevies early days on the local band scene in Texas.
Albert King died right before Christmas 1992, most of his guitars are in rock and blues museums around the US.

Its from his concert at Radio City Music Hall. All of his concerts and videos can be found at jbonamassatv. The concert called MuddyWolf (tribute to Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters+ a few Joe sonhs at the end) is also a great concert held at the Red rocks amphitheater carved from stone.
I highly recommend RadioCity (get to see him play acoustic and sing then breaks out electric)
