I'm a 74 year old music lover. Been collecting records since 1955. Joe started young. He opened for B.B. King when he was 12, but could only do so on Friday and Saturday nights because he had homework the rest of the week. He holds the distinction of having more #1 Blues/Rock hits, gold and platinum albums than anyone in history. His performances with Beth Hart are epic as well as his other groups, Black Country Communion and Rock Candy Funk Party. (yes... I have 26 of his albums) I suggest you check out "Angel of Mercy" live at the Greek Theater or "Mountain Time" live at the Royal Albert Hall
Use to see him at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano for $20. Those days are gone. He just keeps getting better. His voice has matured beyond expectations.
Since you have so many of Joe’s albums you’ve probably already heard Woke Up Dreaming-Joe on acoustic guitar in a battle with Tina Guo on Cello- amazing! FYI-there are videos on TH-cam of Joe performing when he was 10 and 12
Exactly what I was gonna say! Well said my friend!!! Bonamassa is arguably the best on the scene right now...and nobody’s close to being second at this time! I’ve seen Joe live once...I took my two sons to their first live concert. Glad as hell it was Joe Bonamassa!
Even if you don’t like blues, Bonamassa has a way to make you appreciate it. His concerts aren’t stand up rock shows, they’re more like going to the theater yet some of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
You are watching a child prodigy who was 12 years old when he landed a gig sharing a billing with BB King in 1989. From that performance, BB King took him on tour as his opening act and the rest, as the saying goes, is history. Must listens: Trouble Town, Blue and Evil, You Upset Me, Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody's Home, You Left Me With Nothing But The Blues, Redemption, + many, many more.... the hole is very, very deep! Great reaction, TY.
Do like Joe. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 The king of the telecaster 😋😋😋 This is a cover of a Gary Moore song. Great choice I see Joe quite often going in to Norm's Rare Guitars in Los Angeles on YT. He can't help himself 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Joe Bonamassa is considered one of The Best in the World! Been playing since the age of 5 and played with B,B. King at age 12! Check out "Stone Cold" he performs with Jimmy Barnes! Epic!!
One of the hardest working people in this industry. The guy is either recording an album or he is on the road. He has built his fanbase over many, many years. Great to see that the hard work has paid off.
Never, not one time has Joe’s playing ever been other than the BEST I’ve ever heard. Took my two boys to a Joe Bonamassa concert for their first live show. So happy about that!
Joe is one of the greatest blues guitarists ever, you definitely need to check out much more, try “The Ballad of John Henry” “Mountain Time” “Blues Deluxe” “Just Got Paid” or “Slow Gin” to name a few. Also great together Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa “I’d Rather Go Blind” & “I’ll Take Care of You” her voice is amazing & Joe is just awesome
i have the dvds of some of his concerts in uk. He plys Gibson guitars, they loaned him their most valuable guitar from their museum collection, how much faith did they have in him
Joe’s great. I’ve seen him many times. My favorite was at the Beacon Theater around 2017. I played blues and blues rock most my life. The best advice for playing blues that really was a game changer for me came from a friend’s Dad who was a studio session player. I asked how to play blues emotionally. He said simply, “focus on what you do in the spaces between the 🎉notes, not the notes themselves.” That lesson is easy to understand listening to Bonamassa, and pretty much every great blues player, play on this song. It’s not how many notes you play or how fast you can play them, it becomes how few notes can I play to tell the story I want to tell. Do this and in short time you will notice that your solos begin to say things that have a kind of meaning as opposed to sounding like just a bunch of notes. Here are some brilliant examples to familiarize yourself with, The Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Cream, the 3 Kings (BB King, Albert King, Freddie King). Then learn to mix major and minor pentatonic scales and play over the changes with some arpeggios thrown in too. Now, do the same thing at a fast tempo weighted more in the major instead of the minor scale and you be rockin now. :)
I work in a music store. I like to try new things all the time because it helps with customer service. Joe Bonamassa was one of the first blues musicians where I thought to myself "do I like blues" I went down a small rabbit hole but I've come to thoroughly appreciate all forms of music. Most recently getting into Kpop, like yourself. Music truly is a journey. As someone who can appreciate all forms of music it's a shame those who can't. It's okay to not like other genres of music or certain artists but the way some people are so hateful in their comments is beyond me. Keep the videos coming. One of my favourite channels.
I would suggest also checking out Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways or Still Got the Blues. I really enjoy listening to him. Joe's an incredible performer.
If you want music with feeling, you have to check out Joe's performance with Beth Hart, covering Etta James' "I'd Rather go Blind". Amazing stuff that will warm your heart.
I have seen Joe many times and his live shows are always incredible!!! He plays this song in homage to the great Gary Moore!!! You need to checkout “Mountain Time”, “John Henry”, “Dust Bowl”, and “Sloe Gin”. Not to mention anything he does with Beth Hart!!
First class Bonamassa, thank you. Have a listen to Joe playing for Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes..... Stone Cold or their cover of Deep Purples Lazy. One of Joes main back up singers is Jimmies daughter , Mahalia Barnes. lol
Congratulations! You've discovered this great talent... he's so good at what he does that he's at the top of the best guitar solos I've ever heard. I'm a metalhead and I know solos like Necrophagist and Carcass but Joe has something that is Brutal! he watches these solos and then tell me if I'm wrong: I'd Rather go Blind (Live in Amsterdam) and I'll Take Care of You (Live at Beacon Theater NY). Success!!
If this is your first introduction to blues guitar, you have a huge rabbit hole to go down! I would suggest Stevie Ray Vaughn's performance of "Texas Flood" at the El Macombo. This video will make you feel unworthy of owning a guitar. After that, check out the history of guitarists who influenced Clapton, Page, and Hendricks.
I almost forgot! Joe is really something ain't he. If you can get.the double DVD of the concert he did in London at The Royal Albert Hall, you should.grab it!
Yeah it's not a coincidence everybody you seen play at Royal Albert Hall has done a super good job. It's because you can't just book The Hall it's not like a regular Stadium here in America you have to be super Top notch to get to play there. From what I've heard you have to actually request to play there and then they check you out to see if you're " qualified"
Lee. That was a cover of the late great Gary Moore. Joe did it as tribute but it’s become a signature tune. Talking of Gary Moore the messiah came. One of the most beautiful guitar solos of all time lasting about 9 minutes. Extraordinary.
Thanks brother. You are the first I have seen react to this song with Joe. He's one of my favorite guitarist and vocalist in the world. More please. Until next time, stay well
Joe is playing the guitar "Greeny". Originally owned by the blues legend Peter Green. Green sold it to Gary Moore who wrote the midnight blues. If you like this then listen to Garry Moore live "the messiah will come again", it is stunning.
Can't touch that ! He's absolutely one of the greatest guitarists that's ever lived. Someone replied to a comment I'd made and said Joe Bonamassa couldn't tie a certain guitar players shoes 😅 and I said you're exactly right 😂 he'd be to busy showing him how to play a guitar rather than tie his shoes 😅
I had the privilege of seeing Smokin' Joe Bonamassa live and can I just say that not only is he one of the best guitarists guitarist of all time, but he is definitely THE best dressed guitarist of all time!
Check him out in Black Country Communion which features Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham's son Jason Bonham on drums, Glenn Hughes on vocals, bass (Deep Purple, Trapeze, The Dead Daisies, Black Sabbath, California Breed, Hughes Turner Project, etc), Derek Sherinian on keyboards (Dream Theater, Sons Of Apollo, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Idol).
You must react to Joe and Jimmy Barnes on "Stone Cold". Blues and soul at its best. Also Joe and Mahalia Barnes (Jimmy's daughter) on "Riding With The Kings" Joe makes the guitar sing.
Love your reaction Lee. I grew up listening to Pink Floyd and I can see why you say what you do. Joe does hit Lics that sounds much like David Gilmore. Joe Bonamassa has to be one of the best guitarists of our time. Thanks so much for your comments.
I think you got it backwards, Pink Floyd like many of the great progressive rock bands came out of the blues genre. Led Zeppelin's first album is very bluesy. David Gilmore plays a blues guitar, that's what makes it so powerful and expressive.
From a grumpy old guy that just woke up seen you for first time and love Joe b .I gotta tell you that everyone knows less Paul is fantastic but even more know LESS IS MORE ..lol you figure out what less iam looking for ..oh GARY MOORE can make his guitar cry ,RIP
I’m surprised you’ve never heard of Bonamassa before~ he’s been probably the best blues/rock guitarist out there now for at least the last ten years. 😊
Another Epic performance from Joe!! For something a little different check out Joe doing a cover of Deep Purple "Lazy" with Jimmy Barnes, or something else Joe with Jimmy doing "Stone Cold"......
i never thought of joe as traditional blues like SRV, buddy guy, albert king... Joe always came off as british blues, jeff beck, clapton (before he went american blues), yardbirds, gary moore....
For something I guarantee you've not seen before, check out Joe with Tina Guo playing "Woke Up Dreaming" from "Live at Carnegie Hall, An Acoustic Evening". Duet with Tina playing cello. th-cam.com/video/MQBkV7s0sV0/w-d-xo.html
I don't know If you listened to it already but otherwise don't forget to give Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa (I'd rather go blind) in A'dam a chance One of the best concert I've ever seen (and I'm an old school Maiden fan). Cheers from tha Low Lowlands over the pond.
Great reaction...Joe Bonamassa is one of the greatest guitarists in the world today.

When Joe was about 12 or 13, BB King said Joe would be a star.
Use to see him at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano for $20. Those days are gone. He just keeps getting better. His voice has matured beyond expectations.
Thanks for the great info. Joe at the Greek theater doing "Going Down" is another spectacular performance.
Since you have so many of Joe’s albums you’ve probably already heard Woke Up Dreaming-Joe on acoustic guitar in a battle with Tina Guo on Cello- amazing! FYI-there are videos on TH-cam of Joe performing when he was 10 and 12

I know what you mean I went to one of his concerts absolutely awesome one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to watch live
Going to see him in November cant wait!!❤
Welcome to the Joe Bonamassa addiction! 🤣🤘
Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa is a must! Two of best blues artists around!
Beth Hart an Joe B
They are amazing with 'I'll Take Care of you'
I've seen Beth and her band, not Joe....yet
You have heard hopefully by now..i'd rather go blind' its a must..@goodehands5388

Thank you Lee for a great reaction! Mr Bonamassa knows his guitar!🎸🎸
I also love the songs he does together with Beth Hart 🙂
Joe Bonamassa is considered one of The Best in the World! Been playing since the age of 5 and played with B,B. King at age 12! Check out "Stone Cold" he performs with Jimmy Barnes! Epic!!
Absolutely ! Stone Cold. An. I’d Rather Go Blind with Beth Hart
One of the hardest working people in this industry. The guy is either recording an album or he is on the road. He has built his fanbase over many, many years. Great to see that the hard work has paid off.
Or he is hunting down his next guitar purchase

This man’s voice puts me in an alpha state of bliss! Not to mention his incredible mastery of his guitar❤

Awesome explanation.

th-cam.com/video/yNolQUIglDY/w-d-xo.html
@@infin8reactions well thanks for doing so.
You tell 'em buddy. That El Mac is the best live blues rock..."real deal" you will ever hear and see. JB cannot touch that....ever. The realness....
More Joe!!
Thank you for nice reaction to Joe. And what you said about his playing is exactly truth...the feeling... this is what blues is about 👍
JoBo is the best on the planet right now.... just pure joy.
I work in a music store. I like to try new things all the time because it helps with customer service. My favorite genre. Joe grew up an hour from me. Joe is a world renowned blues guitarist and singer.
I would suggest also checking out Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways or Still Got the Blues. I really enjoy listening to him. Joe's an incredible performer.
I've done both of those reactions 😁
I usually check to see but being lazy today 😉
Robert Cray is another blues guy that I love.
If you want music with feeling, you have to check out Joe's performance with Beth Hart, covering Etta James' "I'd Rather go Blind". Amazing stuff that will warm your heart.
Jos guitar skills are so famous most people Overlook that he's a great vocalist
I can't wait to see joe bonamassa live this year. Pure music!
His voice and guitar tone are perfect for live performance
First class Bonamassa, thank you.
Have a listen to Joe playing for Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes..... Stone Cold or their cover of Deep Purples Lazy.
One of Joes main back up singers is Jimmies daughter , Mahalia Barnes. lol
Some skills?...... This man was a prodigy of BB King and toured with him at age 13! This man has all the skills.
Please take into account that this is the first time that I've heard of him or even seen him
Gary Moore was this way as well. I love listening to both. Such passion.
In 1993 I saw Gary Moore play Midnight Blues live at the Albert Hall.
Playing with 'Feeling' - that's what the blues is all about
JB is the like the crack of blues musicians. I can't get enough.
Success!!
Ahhhh...finally you discover Joe. I've been listening to him for many many years...listen to more and enjoy. Your reaction isn't unusual
For me, the best rock guitarist's have a heavy blues influence. This guy is one of the best.
Found this incredible musician yesterday myself. Agree with you completely!!!!!! Must hear on wide open volume.
If this is your first introduction to blues guitar, you have a huge rabbit hole to go down! I would suggest Stevie Ray Vaughn's performance of "Texas Flood" at the El Macombo. This video will make you feel unworthy of owning a guitar. After that, check out the history of guitarists who influenced Clapton, Page, and Hendricks.
this only scratches the surface of Joe's skills. check him out live Breaking up someone's home.
I almost forgot! Joe is really something ain't he. If you can get.the double DVD of the concert he did in London at The Royal Albert Hall, you should.grab it!
Always remember" Music Is What Feelings Sound Like."
and you're right about shredding. Sometimes it's what you don't play that gives the song soul, feeling and spiritual depth
Joe runs rings around every guitar player on the planet at the moment
Yeah it's not a coincidence everybody you seen play at Royal Albert Hall has done a super good job. It's because you can't just book The Hall it's not like a regular Stadium here in America you have to be super Top notch to get to play there. From what I've heard you have to actually request to play there and then they check you out to see if you're " qualified"
Try "Blues Deluxe" live at Rockplast by Joe. 🙌
Lee. That was a cover of the late great Gary Moore. Joe did it as tribute but it’s become a signature tune. Talking of Gary Moore the messiah came. One of the most beautiful guitar solos of all time lasting about 9 minutes. Extraordinary.
One of the greatest guitarist That's ever lived ! I've got 3 top guitarist and he's in that top 3 .
If George Benson isn't one of them, do a re-think.

Maté you’re bang on . The feeling is what it’s all about. This man has it on gallons.
Joe is playing the guitar "Greeny". Originally owned by the blues legend Peter Green. Green sold it to Gary Moore who wrote the midnight blues. If you like this then listen to Garry Moore live "the messiah will come again", it is stunning.

Truly great guitarist, very clean sound. And he can really sing. Listen to the song Last Kiss
The acoustic version of his song Drive is my favorite song of his.
It's hard to imagine a time before I knew Joe and his incredible music. 😅
Nice reaction. So much more from him.
Love your reaction Lee. I grew up listening to Pink Floyd and I can see why you say what you do. Joe does hit Lics that sounds much like David Gilmore. Joe Bonamassa has to be one of the best guitarists of our time. Thanks so much for your comments.

You should check out High Water Everywhere from the Royal Albert Hall concert. Double drummers and acoustic guitar, very nice.
Never heard of anyone who did not like the blues.
Blues music is as American as it gets.
