With all things considered, these newer generations of condors have been crushing it. I bought two terrasaurs from amazon, one had immediate issues (looked like it was used, the handle burnt by a molding process, and the spine was round round). That one went back to amazing. The second I kept. It only had very minor and likely all cosmetic issues. I got in touch with condor and told them my experience. They sent me an example that was 100% perfect and as described in their product description. No cost to me. And took only about two months (weird shipping from other countries in COVID-19 times). Overall outstanding experience with the knife and customer service.

I got a Bushglider about two years ago now.
It was okay, but just not my style.
I just gave it to someone who is just starting out with the bushcraft/survival lifestyle. He was very happy with it.
On the other hand, I have two Terrasaurs, and may get another in another color.

Any time anyone can find a good knife made out of tested, reputable, quality steel for a good price, I want to know about it, its specs, and to see it used. You do that well. What drives it home for me and others is that we know your character through experience and you’re trusted. That’s a good thing. Carries a lot of weight.

I went with the Terrasaur, For the price point it's an awesome little bush craft knife. It also makes a great knife to keep packed away in a ready bag, which I keep in my truck. I do have other knives that I use for game processing or food prep.

Now if they made one that had the flat grind of the Bushglider and the drop point blade shape of the Terrasaur I'd be more interested.

I like these knives! I love carbon steel, but there’s something to be said for stainless in a field environment. My Kansbol never rusts when I’m out camping & it’s wet out.

I recently bought a terrasaur from Amazon. I got the knife and it appeared to be made of quality material for a "budget" knife. Then I stared noticing some bad QC issues. The bevels on either side was at different angles and the knife was molded into the plastic off-centered. I wouldn't mind some cosmetic stuff but if I seen the knife in person, I wouldn't even consider buying it.

Like you, I'd pick the Bush Glider as well, for precisely the reasons you name. However, COMMA, I'm in high-humidity, hot, and salty conditions. So stainless preferred. I hope Condor creates stainless versions, like they've done with the Mini Duku Parang and the Village Parang this year. I'd definitely grab that.

The jimping and the tapered spine, that only weakens the tip, kill the new full flat version for me. So I'll continue looking for an affordable companion style knife with flat grind and carbon steel blade. Till then, my D2 manly Patriots will do fine. I just would like them develop a patina over time without abusing them willingly.

Thanks for the vid. I’ve been thinking about getting the Terrasaur for a while. Don’t know why I just don’t buy it considering the price. I don’t have a scandi knife and this would be a good choice to see how it works. I’ll find something to use it for.

  • @arctodussimus6198
    @arctodussimus6198 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Well I was all prepared to say I’m very happy with my Terrasaur, and wouldn’t need to get a Bush Glider.
But after watching this review, I may just have to get one. 😎
I’ve never really been fond of the Scandinavian grind, or Mora Knives. Until they made one with a full tang. And then the price of it made me wait.
Then the Terrasaur came out and I got one. Really like it.
But I do like the full flat grind and a clip point.
How many knives does one man need?
For me, these would only be carried in a fire kit, or food kit. I prefer much bigger blades when I’m in the field.
But I’m fairly confident that they will both find a place in my gear.

Just hope things work better than my Condor Kephart. Big problem was rough wavy grind on the edge. Spent a lot of time just getting it to be a so so cutter. Knife dropped out of leather sheath and cut me. Not a China fan, but Steel Will Druid impressed me much more than Condor. Buck, Mora and Marttini impresses me also.

I'm pleased the bush glider doesn't have a sharpened swedge (false edge) because now it's legal to carry, not that I don't mind packing a dagger here in California, I just choose not to,
Knives that look like the bush glider but have a sharpened false edge I feel greatly limit the knives general usefulness

OMG, it’s so damn difficult to choose a knife, never thought it would be such a struggle to pick one up for my needs. I love your detailed videos where you explained difference with wood and food processing showing cuts. One thing I saw Garberg is breaking apple not cutting it. I was going to buy Terrasaur and Kansbol although found cheap Garberg in shop, but now you gave us another option. Could you help me please. I live in UK, do bit of hiking, camping and multiday kayaking (river Wye, Thames) and motorbike trips. I was using cheap silicone handle kitchen knife but destroyed it battoning wood for my SOLO Titan stove. I used saw to process 3inch (7cm) thick pine in 5inch (13cm) pieces for my woden stove and then battoned it in pieces. I would also cut bread, sausage, tomato for my own use in food breaks although I mostly use tin food on my kayaking trips. Would love once to make my own camping soup, peeling, cutting potatoes, onion, raw meat but in all my trips I pitch tent too late to do it. I initial choise was Garberg black, then Garberg stainless steel because black would rust when it’s wet. Then wanted Kansbol as it might be better with food prep, but not sure about battoning wood. That’s why I thought Condor Terrasaur (carbon steel) would be best all rounder. Now you gave me option of Condor bushglider good at food prep. I also looking for a knife what would struck fire rod. I’m leaning towards Kansbol with survival kit? Thanks for your advice! So far I learned Terava kakaaripuuko 110 said beats Terrasaur and Garbner
Enzo Trapper D2. Benchmade 200 Puukko Knife £139 -comment say is a winner between 2 , it has strong steel but hard to sharpen.
    Hultafors OK4 cheap good.

The reason it's not god for food prep is because it's not designed for food prep. The blade is too wide for a start. Remember, when it comes to knives, three is one and one is none. So take along a small flat grind folder for food prep and other odd jobs. A SAK Farmer or similar or a Douk-Douk or a Mercator K55K are all good for food prep.
