      Is there evidence of that? For me, there are really only two reasons for this case: 1) what you said. Hes punishing his wife or 2) dude was having a major psychotic break. From the little I know about this, im guessing it’s going to be the second. He was talking about “chad knows what’s right” and thought a friend of his was in the CIA. I’m guessing he did have schizophrenia. He’ll be in state hospital for the rest of his life if that’s the case.

      He was talking quite normally to the police after being arrested, he didn't want to get hurt so said he wasn't going to hurt anyone. He was still shouting at his dog, which according to his neighbour he did everyday along with shouting at his family. He HUNTED his boys, and forced his step daughter to put down his little boy before shooting him. He could work the gun. He is just very clever and trying to worm his way out. You could argue that every murderer is suffering mental illness or breakdown. There is no remorse or grief his children suffered and died. Its really sickening.

      Yes you're right. Doerman is freaking out about getting life in prison. He is so scared he already asked the first judge he saw to give him protection! This is why I don't want him getting the death penalty it's a easy way out for him. He'll get protection until the day they take his life. Although he'd rather get diagnosed with being insane so he never steps foot in a prison. If that fails he wants the death penalty!! Doerman is terrified of other prisoners he knows what's coming his way.

      Capital punishment is currently suspended in Ohio, but he could be sentenced to it anyway - knowing his day might or might not come in many years.

      This is a fantasy I see often in Internet comment sections, but it just isn't true. Chris Watts and hundreds of thousands of other child killers are alive and well in prison. The other prisoners like Chris and call him the pastor.

      Yes, but when asked for lawyer's names he gave names of people that weren't. That said, he was displaying signs of mental illness so at that point they should have called a forensic psychiatrist and have him assessed.

      also he said give a a day or 2 and I'll speak to a lawyer and get some answers didn't u hear that..

    Him constantly changing his plea says he definitely knows what is wrong. You don't just land on not guilty by reason of insanity after pleading not guilty (as in saying he didn't kill them at all) I hope the jury uses common sense in their decision

    He was completely coherent and able to provide an accurate account of events upon arrival of police at the scene. That isn't consistent with him being in a state of psychosis or mania.

    He did not "unequivocally" ask for a lawyer. He said "I'll just wait for a lawyer" - after he did a whole lot of talking. Unequivocally would be "I want a lawyer."

    A low borderline organized ego is extremely aggressive and lacks awareness; there's nobody "home" to step in. But it's not psychosis. And even if it were, it was his responsibility to seek out medical treatment, because he's technically a grown man. He's fighting for a life that isn't even worth fighting for.

      @@TeaSpiracy it's Otto Kernberg's object relations personality organization model, which has 4 levels, 3 of them pathological. borderline (severe personality disorders) is the addition made to Freud's original organization of neurotic and psychotic. super important theory and explains why people behave as they do and how they "defend" their identity and emotional landscape. it always comes down to a lack of awareness.

      Yeah, that was essentially my mother's assessment, and she also refused treatment and lived in denial, whether it was deliberate or not. Still not sure how my half-sister and I got out alive. Her biological father didn't, but he was a pill on his own since he ran down my sister with a truck.
      Her weird fluctuations that resulted in her aggressively rejecting those she loved to a violent end was incomprehensible to me.

    I hope he's been getting some 'jailhouse justice' while he's been incarcerated, but I doubt it, since one of the first things he requested was not to be housed in general population.
    He wants to be protected, unlike how he treated his sons.

    When he was being cuffed, he was very aware of where the daughter had gone. He said, im not guna hurt no one.
    Kinda looks more like he knew exactly what he was doing, so once it was done, there was no need to hurt anyone else.
