    on the earlier 2nd gen, put a 1/2" id hose on the ac drain so water doesnt flow back into the passenger side floor. then reroute the trans wire that goes behind the alternator to up across the radiator. picks up emf and sends false signal to make shift wrong and shudder out of od.

    After market intakes do not do a good job filtering the dust. The OEM intake is also already a cold air intake.
    FUEL FILTRATION IS NUMBER 1 PRIORITY.

    • @Duramaxtuner
      @Duramaxtuner  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @kyles234 you're right that the factory intake is technically a cold air intake. However, we have seen aftermarket cold air intakes improve the power of these engines. We have also found the filters offered on aftermarket intakes to be fairly high quality. Most offer a dry replaceable as well as an oiled reusable filter. We prefer the dry disposable filters as they provide better filtration while offering negligibly lower airflow compared to a reusable oil filter.

    • @kyles234
      @kyles234 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Duramaxtuner i got sucked into the after market intake scam and had S&B on all 5 if my trucks. But I started to notice dust on the inside of the intake tube. I measured the oil. I even saw it on brand new elements. So it wasn't me possibly oiling the filter wrong. Also tried the over priced dry filters and saw the same thing.
      What I have learned is that the only way to increase airflow without sacrificing filtration quality is to install a larger filter. Generally a filter from a larger engine.
      I also didn't notice any different in performance.

    After having my #6 piston rings break on my 03, i changed to the commercial oil squirts and run a 165 degree thermostat. That Holset turbo is not impressive, as the bearings are really a couple of very loose bushings, which have to be a loose fit for lubrication.
    …..FWIW, the new Bosch injectors are made in China. Not worth rebuilding, as a new set can be had on EBay for 500.00 if you look around.
    …..Must use commercial ceramic clutch disk. My NV five speed still running strong.

    North DFW. I bought my first Diesel truck 2003 5.9 cummins with 404,000 miles from truck traders. I have replaced the 8ft bed with an all steel enclosed service body. Upgraded suspension. It needs cleaning, and injectors for sure. Where may I take it to get dyno and program? Even with no bed, it couldn't peel out. Its still cheaper to build than buy a new truck. I have spent already $10K to get it useable for my work. Currently I'm only getting 15 mpg- city, and 27- mpg highway. A Trucker told me i should be getting better millage, but I didn't tell him what was bad. Any more advice , will be better than what my cousins have to say.

It’s just too difficult to lift the dogs up into the 6” lifted F250 I have now when I want to take them with me camping. Got a few candidates. One firmly in the price range, an 04 dodge 3500 with about 445k on the clock. How long can the 5.9 realist ally go if it’s been taken care of? Fuel filtration, exhaust flow, egt Trans temp and boost gauges. Then tuner.

    • @Duramaxtuner
      @Duramaxtuner  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mikeo5668 Fuel filtration and gauges are definitely important. However, we feel that tuning really is the best place to start when it comes to adding power. You don't need to do any exhaust modifications to take advantage of the power gains that custom tuning has to offer. Plus, you can make well over 400hp on these trucks through tuning alone with the emissions system fully intact. Boost, EGT, and Trans Temp gauges are always recommended. But, If you use your truck responsibly and or you're running tuning from someone who knows what they are doing you shouldn't really have an immediate need for them. Is there a reason that you suggest those upgrades ahead of custom tuning?

    • @mikeo5668
      @mikeo5668 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Duramaxtuner for me, I do reliability things more or less first. Seen people who get a tune and destroy their trucks. Max fuel max boost max power. I'd rather have all the supporting mods done then add power. But yes, a reasonable adult can have just a tune and be perfectly fine and it will run better and last longer. But.. then all you ceave is more power. Also the stock filtration on these truck suck. Cp3 and injectors are not cheap
