  • Here's my hands-on look at Air Dragon, a portable, hand-held air compressor. The expert I consulted said he'd buy it because it did inflate a flat tire, but I'm still on the fence about this one.

    *Great air pump **MyBest.Tools** Faster than my old plug in pump and twice as handy without having to drag the cord around.And it works with my existing Ryobi drills battery.*

      Check out Ryobi P737 for a Drill style or the P731 for a Inflator/Deflator square style. Uses Ryobi's 18 volt batteries so you can swap them with other Ryobi tools. The 737 is $19 and the 731 is $39 bucks. Much better build quality and sounds more like a regular compressor then the cheap 1 cylinder that rattles back and forth on the cheap plastic units.

      Darian Gregory never order these type of products, a lot of them are scams, but what I really wanted to tell you is that you can buy these same products at Walmart, and if they don't work, you have the receipt to take it right back. If they are not at Walmart just wait a month or so because it will be, it could be a new product and just needs a lil time to get to Walmart.

    Appreciate your review. I've been seeing the Air Hawk ads on tv and this was an alternative brand that's popped up. Too many reviewers give low ratings because it doesn't meet expectations - a small home unit isn't going to be as fast or powerful as the gas station version - leaving me confused as to whether it works or not. So I appreciate seeing this in action. (Yes, I'm headed over to your Air Hawk review now.) Thanks!

    There are many other brands of 12 volt tire inflators out there for sale for about $19.00 that will do the same job.

      You can get them even cheaper if you look on eBay, as I only paid $15 for the one I gave my mother as insurance in case she gets stranded along with jumper cables, and a proper tire gauge to keep in her trunk, and it works just as well as this thing if not better.

    Air dragon works good on auto/truck tires but for smaller tires like wheelbarrow, etc. like the video shows sometimes, does not shut off. Also I noticed it powers off after inflation and you have to press the middle psi select button to turn back on. I paid $29.95 w/coupon, so it's not a bad investment. It went from 32 psi to 35 psi in around 45-60 seconds on a very cold day on an auto tire. I did all 4 tires w/o a problem.

    Slime makes a great portable air compressor. Mine will do around 15psi in about 5 minutes and not to mention my built in gauge is very accurate. I have owned the same one now for over 7 years and it's still kicking strong.

    I race motorcycles and when I go to the track I see guys with big compressors and air tanks and all this nonsense. I bought a $30 kobalt 12 volt electric compressor. Works great has a plug for the house and car. I put in 19.5psi on the screen and hit start it stops at 19.5psi just to make sure I check it with a $150 gauge and it’s perfect every time. You can pick it up at Lowe’s or on Amazon. It doesn’t have good reviews online but I can tell you it works so good I bought 3 for myself and 1 as a gift. Great to keep in the car. Good job on your reviews man very detailed keep up the good work.

    nice review sir however how are you supposed to blow up a tire on the side of the road that has a hole in it? You would need a plug kit and other things we should be very difficult on the side of the road. As for maintaining air pressure in your bicycle or tires when they drop a little I could understand this could be a good tool. it did however blow that Corvette Tire up. All those little pumps take 15 minutes from flat. thanks for your review

  • @EDFCentral

    I bought two of them. First one burned up in the first 30 seconds when I tried to inflate a tire. The second one would turn on and off repeatedly while trying to inflate a tire to the point that it was useless. I contacted the company and informed them about the one that burned up. They sent me a replacement one that also turned on and off repeatedly and refused to fill up the tire. So all in all I had 3 of them and they were all garbage. I just wasted $70 dollars (combo pack was $10 cheaper). I say they are garbage from my experience and recommend no one waste their money on them. Go to Walmart and pick up a good 12 volt inflator for $20 bucks. I've had great reliability out of them.

    I've seen dozens of these types of things and have been using a few for years. The only thing newish (or not common) is the auto-stop feature (which does not seem to work very well) and the built-in storage (which you'd think would be a no brainer).

    My neighbor bought one of these and he used it to fill a completely flat tire on his Kia Sorento. It took 45 minutes to fill up to 30p.s.i. & it drained his car battery to where I had to give him a jump. It did smoke about 20 minutes into the usage and after the tire was completely filled, the small adapter was to hot to touch when trying to remove.
    Did another test on a semi flat tire on my car and after 10 minutes I ended up going to the gas station to get the tired filled. I basically told my neighbor to return this thing & get his money back.
    Good review and yes I would not recommend this to anyone.

    40$! I paid 8$ for mine and it's worked for 24 years; 10 of those years with a tire with a slow leak refilling every three days. It's about as slow (from ~10 psi to 30 psi about 15 minutes) and does not have auto-shutoff but it's smaller. Checked the price recently (for a friend's new car) and it's 13$ on sale.

  • @cumminspower5531
    @cumminspower5531 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It probably keeps turning on because there is a leak between the compressor and the air chuck. When you first hooked up the hose in the beginning it didn't look like a very secure connection for pressurized air. The machine thinks it has zero/low pressure in the line so it keeps running. Do the soapy water trick and I bet you see air leaks along the hose and the connections at each end. Was the smoke an electrical smell or a grease/plastic smell? I appreciate your review.

    • @Freakinreviews
      @Freakinreviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I literally was just watching the infomercial and it says that it will pump a tire up and get you back on the road and seconds. It literally shows them pumping up a damn Tire quicker than I've ever seen. I don't know why that guy would give this a thumbs up because it's definitely a piece of s*** if it's smoking. You can buy a lot of different ones out there for $40 or less . I have an old one that I've had for years and it takes longer to pump up and does not have a PSI shut off what the gauge is almost perfect and doesn't smoke if on for a long time. I've had it for at least 15 years. sounds to me like this thing will break very easily

    Had mine for sometime now and have always had a problem with it. Today I was putting air in my tires and was able to get one done. I have three lighter connections in my car. After the first tire it would not work in either. One other thing, after putting air in the only tire it worked on the connection to the tire was really hot and I had to get a rag to unscrew it from the tire. I figured it was just hot and would not turn on, I waited for an hour and it still dosen't turn on. I would not recommend this compressor to anyone that is in a hurry.

    The best 12v compressor I ever had was called Truck Air. It was slow like most of them are but it could fill a flat 16" 235 tire on my Silverado without overheating and did so many times before it finally died. I now have different compressors in vehicles and would expect them to do the job and for less than $40. I am NOT sold on this dragon thing, not at all.

    I got an email from them and thought it looked pretty cool but for $50.00 for one I have to check a review. That product didn't ring any bells for me. It looks cheaply made and it is. Another reviewer said his was making a metal grinding sound on the first use and said the piston inside was busted. I'll just stick to my little Slime compressor I got for 20 bucks at walmart. I think I will pass on the portable air compressor. I would however really like to know where you bought those green shades?

    love the review...except noooo one says "shutting on" either "turning on" or "coming back on" lol great video tho!!!! it helped me ALOT!! if they dropped it down to $20 i'd cop one just to throw in the back for emergencies. i have the HARBOR FREIGHT $40 compressor but you need an outlet.

    I got one for a gift. The clip that holds the bottom compartment broke the first day. 2 years later the compressor stopped working. It lights up but the compressor won't start.

    On TV it's quiet. In my residential neighborhood I don't want all that noise. I have 2 versions of cheap 12V pump. You can plug it into a jumper box to avoid cigarette lighter. Quiet & fast is what I'm looking for. I used to have a tank you pump up at gas station and fill your tire with the single charge. I'm still going to Wal-Mart for other things.

    I would think it was a fail for a tire. First, most tires quickly lose air on the road and not from a slow leak. As slow as it takes to refill the tire, it will be competing with that leak. Even without that competing leak, it still took the maximum stay on time to inflate that tire.

      AngelKistable Same, and I worked at the once down from my house which is a 5 minute walk for 5 1/2 years, and we never stocked any in that entire time I was there that I can remember anyways, plus I'm in my local store often enough since it's very convenient for me to know when they get new stock in, and I've not seen one at all since either.

    These little pin piston compressors don't last very long. Either the crank breaks or the cylinder just gets wore out and it can no longer compress air. its only really good for emergency air. A bicycle pump actually works better
