All these shots are overkill, so much that it becomes a headache.
Literally. I got a headache.
yesss, like the circle rapid thingy, just hurt my eyes and my head, like in focus one second and then rapid blur the next
Thats why I like B more... it was the more smothest
Same omg I actually felt my dizziness transitioning into a headache by the end of the vid
same, i got dizzy
Why is everyone doing these insanely rotational transitions? Where in the world do you see a good commercial with this amount of motion sickness?
All due respect Lord Vader, but you don't. I believe what we have here is Fivvr editors who learn to edit from people like Daniel Schiffer and Peter Mckinnon are simply taking that school of terrible thought and turning it around on themselves.
This is by far the worst garbage I have ever seen in a video format and no self respecting client would want to endure the visual diarrhea shown in these videos.
The teachers are students themselves, too many apprentices, not enough masters.
@Darth Vader what do you think about Rey?
Modern Slice very well put
Because the footage was already like it. They film these transitions and then just cut them and make them look good
@@fukro7557 Shoot better footage then, editing made it look worse,, not better. Do you like to feel like throwing up when looking at a "food commercial". Makes NO sense.
GLASSES GLASSES GLASSES!
Made sense, composed, didn't get a stroke trying to follow through
I actually just noticed that......I didn't know it got so many😅
Exactly
@This Reality, My mentality. he pretty much said it all
Absolute legend XD
YES!!!!
Edit C looks like he was editing a CoD sniper montage or something
lmao right
BurgerMerker haha 😆 😂
Lol true
fact
Sushi was dope, but holy motion sickness on all the rotating shots in it.
:D B-ROLLLLLL challenge u know ? :D
That’s why I think A is the best, they slowed it down but it still had a good pace, and I didn’t get sick :)
I know right!!
yeah some cuts where rough and the rotating was just...🤢🤮
Yeah I got motion sickness too...
he should've made his own edit and add it to the options anonymously hehe
What if he did tho.
FireMaster he didn’t tho
Bing o
What if he actually did that??? 🤔🤭🤭🙈
Hehe
LuL
I'm just wondering how on earth that sushi and cabin tour video got more votes than the glasses video.
ikr
yessss ikr
It should be the number one!
I fine with the sushi one but cabin fever was not very good
ikr!!!!!!
I would go with B, the others just don’t show the purpose of “sushi” much.
Yes and I also feel like it makes you feel the least amount of motion sickness while watching it 😂. You don’t really want people to feel sick every time they watch your ad
Same and C on 2nd and A on last.
@@chandlerm8092 Exactly
Agreed
Same
Everyone: B was the best. Glasses should've won too.
Yeah lol
True xD
Yeag glasses was good
Anyone know the song from B?
Yes
Okay I mean all of them were awesome, but in my opinion that's a perfect example of an absolute overuse of transitions..
Arent there just too many cuts? Not sure if they used transitions? Could be wrong
C was disorienting
@@solaredC make me dizzy
They need to understand that sometimes, "less is more"
but are they really awesome if they're all examples of absolute overuse of transitions? That would by definition NOT make them awesome wouldn't it?
"dO yOU wANnA sEe sOMe NaUGhty suSHi-roLL?"
🤣
that stole my vote
I do
🤣
I still liked the $25 dollar guy the most, I’m happy he upped his prices
I feel like this one is garbage compared to the pizza one. And to think that pizza one was 25$ and this one is 8 times more... meh.
@Souseawhat? just because its fun doesnt make it to have to be cheap
@Sousea you do you, allthough not using your talents and things you enjoy to its fullest is kinda a waste
@Sousea Depends on how you look at it. Enjoyment is probably my main priority and if i can achieve that by or while gaining financial advantages, i‘d take that
same!
A good editor knows how to balance the transitions. This feels like a competition on who can fit the most transitions in one video..
That's why I liked Glasses the most.
Nah man i like being drunk without drinking
Exactly
For sure, B-Roll culture on TH-cam has gone too far. What is the point of these clips? Are they trying to serve a purpose for an audience? Or just sell transition packs online?
It’s TH-cam.
Does anyone else get really dizzy watching these type of videos? It almost feels like it's more about "creative transitions" than having tasteful transitions that make sense with the content.
I have took some medecines to get rid of the dizzy,
aim sorry :D for make you dizzy. but I thought it was a B-ROLL ... so that's why I roll lol ... not funny? no .. ok 🤐
This seems to be a huge trend in "cinematic" stuff that's made now, but it's honestly cliché and tired at this point. Everything is a semi-slow then fast, creative transition, 360º spin, blahblahblah. It's just repetitive.
My eyes did actually hurt a bit after watching them and the continuous rolling :P
Those same transitions at such a quick pace, made it slightly hard to follow what was going on too.
Completely agree, I don’t understand the constant need to use flashy transitions
I feel like B won because it actually made you want the sushi
I feel like I got motion sickness from the unnecessary transitions. Sure, the sushi b-roll was “creative”, but I feel like the transitions weren’t tasteful in the slightest. Glasses should’ve won. The way it told a story was like magic.
Fr
Yes
I prefer version B but, in general, there are too many transitions that overshadow the theme of the video.
I think a creative artist should always keep in mind that "Sometimes, less is more".
ya sometimes. sometimes more :D
Well, the winning video had too many transitions anyway. Too fast-paced to tell a story correctly. 3d place video was by far the best of 3.
i preffer none of them. to much of transitions and too much of overload. sometimes less is more
Yes, I voted B just because it showed a sushi for at least 1 second.Which shouldn't have been an issue in a sushi advert! All of these were bad.
Agreed.
The glasses video is actually telling a story, the rest is all style and minimal substance. These are great videos and I love the explanations, but dont jump for the glitzy cuts, jump for the ones that have a backbone.
did u just call out Disney 😗😗
Wena gringo que tal
a story?? a chick cleaning her glasses is not a story.
That wasnt a story. The cabin crew tour felt a lot more like a story.
The glasses is my favourite
I can’t believe “Glasses” didn’t win. I keep watching it over and over.
Idk what community was voting but Jesus they should have picked glasses.
They made great choices but ok
@@lonew872 no they didn't
@@Benimbabyb Yes they did but it comes down to opinion and preferences
@@lonew872 no they didn't
@@Benimbabyb Yes they did but it comes down to opinion and preferences
The amount of transitions reminds me of PowerPoint slides. Extremely annoying
Id love a version with several clips next to each other
True, like people think this the only way to present a video, was waiting for someone who would actually show all the steps patiently, and not put em all on a roller coaster
I love the solidarity in the comments, we all think the transitions are excessive.
@@NishaSharma-fy1qb unless I'm wrong I think the original footage was filmed at weird angles because that's what the original creator wanted to do
but isn't the original look like that
The glasses was no doubt, the best of Them all. The sushi made me dizzy with all the unnessecary transitions
Ikr
Yes same
Same
Exactly
The style of video was a b-roll, that's what that is
B was top quality. Reminded me of an Apple ad or something of that sort.
B was definitely the best, the transitions were nice, I liked the concept of showing the finished sushi before and then showing how to make it and then going to dip it in soy sauce at the end with sticks and the soundtrack matched it. Loved it.
B made me feel the least motion sickness so I’m going with that
Haha same here.
true
Yeah true the other is not bad but it give me a head ache
True
Lmao fr
did anyone else realize how the glasses one ended with such aestheticness and then thee lady sat on the gflasses.
That's what I thought too! loll
I loved that actually xd
Saw that 😂😂😂
Ya I too y she sit on her glasses after cleaning it lmao
Don't you mean.. aesthe-thicc-ness?
This channel is smart, its literally making me watch the whole ads before them without skipping cause I like watching ads and seeing the way they filmed and edit it
hmmmm, programming us for consumerism?
B without a doubt, C was the most creative though
b was the best the transitions were still overused but a little calmer
Yep exactly
Definitelyy
I agree
agreed! i couldn’t vote on my phone but b all the way
Vote that one too..
This video should be given to people to test their motion sickness tolerance because omg the transition overload is real 😅
true
I have really low tolerance from a VR sets but i can watch this 24/7 with no issues.
1000 th like from me 🙃
I was hoping it wasn't just me! It's like riding a roller coaster!
The glasses shot was the cleanest (literally), they should've won
It’s nice to see creators getting exposure and getting motivated to raise their prices to reflect the great work they do
Who else though glasses was better than cabin tour at the start?
same.
So true lol
Cabin tour made me feel horribly motion sick.
me too
Same
the glasses video is waaayyy better, should blows the rest out of water, everything he/she put in was intentional, not just fancy dizzy complex transitions
yes i was thinking the same thing watching
oh 100% they shoulda won
I agree
yeah i prefer the glasses than the other
Exactly! Everything felt a little over the top, but purposeful. The others felt like they didn’t know their product and were just trying to be fancy
Editor C because it was really unique to me and since there wasn’t any pole I had to comment.
i agree C was super cool!
Don't you think the captions were a little bit off? It would be cooler if they ended with a caption like how they started with the video.
A is easily my favorite!
The sushi layering transitions weren't as rapid fire & gave me more time to appreciate each shot, and the final knife to sushi roll transition really got me 🤙
Personally,I think the second one actual felt like he was actually telling a story of how sushi is made. he kept it simple rather than adding extra transitions. The b-roll should be simple and should primarily make sure it conveys the message.
Agreed
second video was definitely a favourite
agreed
cool but everyone has their opinion
Yes yes, I like the B as well
Since there’s no poll, I’m voting here. B was the best.
Very accurate. Plus, the transitions weren’t as overwhelming as the rest.
Same. The transitions fit with the music, and it was more relaxed and easier to understand. B wins for me.
agreed
Same
what is the name of the song used in B video?
B" is the best so far. And second, i would prefer "a". I would choose "c" but it was rather creepy ̄へ ̄

Cabin Tour makes me feel like I'm late for something.. really didn't like that edit
Stonks
Don't forget about zoom in and zoom out frequently, very important.
Editors not cameramen , they didn't take the footage they jus put it together according to what they were given. Possible that they didn't have enough different non-motionsickness-inducing shots 🤷🏾♂️
Shit ton of sound effects
B was the only one I could watch without having to look away cause of nausea.
Same bro
@@nela_ Yap!
That guy was the best one for the Pizza video and the only good one this time.
same bro ..
i just watched an ad so i can watch someone who's watching ads.
I loved edit A, the slo-no and transitions were very tasteful and it made it easy for me to process what was actually going on in the video. Very impressive :)
To sum up what everyone in the comments is saying:
Glasses should've won because it had a solid direction and very few transitions that were all smooth and slow enough to not give you a headache. (In my opinion cabin crew tour was pretty cool too cause of the unique perspective)
Editor B was the best because holy hell do the other ones make you dizzy
Cabin crew tour was lit
Period
I much preferred Editor A. I feel like their transitions were really nice. editor B had too fast of transitions, as did C, i also didn't really like that there were words on screen for C
I liked B because of the music choice A made it a little too upbeat for a sushi ad and C made it feel like a car commercial
im just agreeing with everybody
These edits are all ego showing off rather than marketing a product. I can’t even process what I’m seeing. The glasses one was superb though. Tasteful but purpose.
Exactly...
Are u a filmmaker?
@@InsaneSibs Yes! I've been more into photography as of late though.
Couldn’t have explained it better myself
Tasteful but purpose?? Wot mate lol
I thought it was cool. It's called a b-roll for a reason. You're not watching cinema here
That's what I though, nobody would really put those ads on TV. Those wont sell anything.
C was really did a good job, it's just like when you watch his/her edit it was a fantastic like a real commercial on the T.V!! i was so impressed👏
I found your channel at random, but I am so glad I did. I had to subscribe after watching one of these videos. They’re interesting and I was amazed by how much II really enjoyed them.
As someone who’s not familiar in video editing
I think B has the greatest impact on me. The sushi was presented upfront, keeping me interested to see what’s next, different type of transitions that fits in place, the pacing is just right, the music.
A was too repetitive and it doesn’t catch my attention because he/she used very similar transitions every couple of seconds for each ingredient. The footage also somehow seem more bland.
C was unique but too stylized for me personally, it gets me dizzy at some point lol.
Yeah I agree with you 100% I liked b most because it was paced good and the 1st ones music just didn’t really fit the vibe I think and I thought of it as kinda annoying yk
A is better
C legit was the only one that made me dizzy
@@osamedeuzzi3978 Nah the C B roll technique is sure complicated, but C is overusing transition and fast paced make some details hard to catch also resulting viewer uncomfortable to watch the clip.
osamede you’re not making an ad for people with editing skills though, you’re targeting an ad for common audience.
All of them were quality, but B stood out the most IMO
agreed
Yeah A had too many flips at the same direction
Honestly all of those top 3 were made in your style so you would like them.
The end of the glasses edit broke me
I guess I'm the only one who feels like these transitions are becoming a little too much.
Edit 2: I guess me and 9.2k other people feel the same way. Who would have thought...
Edit 3: Who would have thought so many people (13K) felt the same way. I said in earlier comments I work on commercials with big companies and I've never seen this type of edit or shooting before, but that's not to say it can't be done or hasn't already been done.
Not at all. For me, the amount of transitions in C just ruined the video for me
I agree with you. I also think that the very fast transitions makes it hard to keep up with what's happening and you find yourself lost in the middle of the video, as your brain can't comprehend what your eyes saw!
Yes -- time for the next big thing.
I totally agree it is really too much
100% agree
Guys, your editing an Advertsing Material not a Sport Event.
same thought
underrated comment

Man this is good content, thank you so much!
Finally I got something new to learn 😍your videos are so satisfying stay blessed 🙏🏻
If these were food commercials, I wouldn’t buy from that place because can’t even see the food half the time. Just puting that out there.
Pete389man they’re showing the ingredients going into the rolls and the process of making them in fast commercial style type clips. What do you mean? Finished products or varieties of food going in?
Holly Boucher too much going on in the process (also too fast) and very little clip of the final product, in not really appetizing way for food commercial
Glass was the best - the comedic irony at the end sitting on the cleansed glasses and cracking it, genius!
i love these kind of videos, please upload more of these.
MORE OF THIS PLEASE!
B was the best, the others made me feel like I was in a hurry lmfao
Totally agree, i just too lazy to catch up with the pace and that's a problem
tbh i get that people do these transitions to make the ad seem more cooler but these editors crossed the line at this point they are giving me headaches
I think *B* was the best, you really get hungry after seeing that.
Absolutely pro man! Subscribed!
Alternative title: *Paying editors to overuse transitions*
She- she just killed her glasses.....
You don’t spray then wipe on glasses. You’re just grinding grit into the lens.
@@RobinsonRDavid no, she sat on it lmao
@@RobinsonRDavid I started wearing glasses for when I work long hours on my computer and was having a headache trying to keep them spotless. Thanks to your comment I now know why, thank you so so much.
All of them felt like a rollercoaster honestly. Sushi is delicate, a sushi commercial should be delicate showing the craft of sushi making
I loved the glasses commercial. The sound editing was great too. I love cool transitions but I'm not that much of a fan of fast transitions. I tend to get confused a lot. That's why I liked B's video of the sushi commercial. The normal pace of the video at first slowly transitioning to a little faster pace was just right to me. C's commercial wasn't bad but I felt like the text was unnecessary.
*I just recover on my head spinning after the sushi b roll one...*
hahhaah it was a B ROLLLLLL challenge u know ? :D
Every single Daniel Schiffer video I just have to sit back and appreciate the absolute bomb lighting 🙏🏽
He is such an awesome talent 😀
100%
I KNOW RIGHT!!
this type of videos are soo cool and interesting!!!
For me, glasses one was best , it has humor, story and a smooth transition
the text chain thing at the beginning of C was so weird
agreed, it felt cheesy and out of place
Reminded me of something James Matthews does in his “Edit and Chill” series but it comes across 10x better.
i actually liked the beginning and thought it would def catch my attention if I was watching TV and the commercials started playing. i would've tuned it for it.
It was also too fast I couldn't read it in time. It was really odd.
I think B's message "I want to eat sushi" tastes more than the others. I vote B
I dont know anything about video editing or advertisements or anything but that sushi ad had me like hyped, I had to rewatch it
These videos are so good, please do more
I really liked glasses
Just because the others were just filled with transitions.. its giving me a headache
Editor A: Made everything looks kinda blurry and out of focus WTF? But is still good
Editor B: Consistent, good transitions, good sound design and color grading
Editor C: Made the transitions so fast that it looks like a action movie fight scene, and you'll never understand where the food is going, Right? Left? Upwards? Only God knows hahaha
Editor B wins, pretty easy to choose
I agree. I could barely understand what was going on in the C video.
Agree.. I think it’s going to be overwhelmingly B when the poll closes.
I agree!
No D wins
Imo I liked editor a's sequence but I agree that it was kinda blurry
He just made us watch 8 and a half minutes of sushi ads.
Now that is what I call big brain marketing (even tho this probably isn’t even a shop or something)
C was the best ...the those mild pauses are what minds will remember
As most people are saying here, the editors went way over the top with the transitions which honestly takes away from the vibe therefore Editor B takes it imo. Much smoother take.
B
for sure, everything else my eyes got dizzy
Everyone is unique and special in there own style 🧡🌼
I'm really glad to see other comments reiterating what I was thinking. I preferred edit B because it was slower and I got a chance to see what was going on more. The other two just made me feel sick.
Creatives often forget that "Less is always more"
B was the best for me, since it really made the sushi appetizing to the viewers
A had lesser impact.
C focuses more on aesthetics and modern trap/hiphop music; I began thinking about the "Kinjaz" dance group while watching it. I think this editing style would've suited more it it were made for a clothing/music/dancing brand.
However, if the sushi places' theme had a twist of a modern vibe -- steering away from the traditional elegance of Japanese cuisine, C would be a great choice. (Minus the overdone transition)
Overall, I think the videos were mediocre?? I personally think that transitions should be a 'complementary' factor to the video that would aid the focus of the viewers onto the main product. However, instead of being able to focus on what the advertisement was marketing, I was more drawn to the effects itself. It is cool, but I'm here to watch an AD not a video tutorial on how to make B rolls.
but this isn't an advertisement, I just made a B-roll.. no story.. maybe a little story
very true, but im guessing its all because of the raw footage was too busy with the fancy angle and motion. Watching all those 3 actually made me dizzy
cool that you know about Kinjaz haha
It should be all about the food and not the camera.movement and editing. Real food commercial focus on the appetite appeal and quality. The message must be conveyed without being distracted by the camera movement and transitions. Although it looks cool in a way but it makes some viewers dizzy.
This...although i don't even think it looks cool. It's visually distracting and disorienting.
Been enjoying these
ngl classes clip was my favorite, just the most dynamic creative and crisp i feel

No question
The transitions are so perfectly smooth perfectly with the beat
*Unpopular opinion:* I think the fast transition era is almost at the end, I think now that even Cinematic travel vloggers (kold, Jr Ali etc), who i think "*dare i say*" are the pioneers of fast transitions have moved away from this style of content to story driven content or atleast limited it greatly. I actually think with the introduction with prosumer cinema cams, (Blackmagic, Z-cam, and the Red coming soon) has heavily influenced the step away from the "Videography" style of content to traditional styles of cinematography and editing. I see this when friends go from using Sony's and other video cams to Cine Cams. Great work to everyone though! Some real Skill in editing here 💜💜💜
not sure this is an unpopular opinion or hot take at this point. I went through that phase in my editing style, but I've moved away recently as I felt that the transitions were taking away from my ability to convey a solid and meaningful story. I use almost no fancy fast transitions anymore, not to say they can't be useful, as I think they can still add to a story when used sparingly and properly in terms of quality and timing
@@ianlevine2681 I had a very kinetic style when I first got into editing. 2002. I was working as an assistant at the time straight out of film school and I had my editor look at a cut. He said take away all those transitions, they're hiding bad cuts. When I took them away I realized the cuts weren't working, they WERE hiding the bad edits. This forced me into re-thinking how I cut images together and built my career from the ground up on it. Working in film tv/doc series now as an editor and I stand by that statement. Trends come and go, classic visual story telling is timeless. There is a time and place for transitions for sure, but they need to be motivated beyond " just looking cool".
ya i feel the same, all these cool transactions and filters these days take away the real authenticity and art.
B was my favourite and I enjoyed his edit in the previous video as well.
Hire him for an add and see him add it over his youtube and people literally watching it. lmao
love your work!
I choose letter c because I like how at the beginning he asked if we wanted to watch and that made me happy
One of the things that is so good about B is that there are a bit of slow-motions between transition, allowing audience more time to see each ingredients and what is happening is each scene.
The question is: how would YOU edit this sushi commercial?
yap my question was that too
It would be awesome to have him shoot some video and release it to everyone to see what people would produce...at least on the editing side of it. If you shoot video, guess just go out and make something on your own.
I thought the last one was his, after he says bye and everything
@@ilariap2966 same lol
I feel like B's ad was simple yet one of the best but it's music just somehow made me feel uneasy, probably cause of the whispering bg voice-
C but without subtitles. It has the best transitions and I feel less sick watching this one. Good job!
