It’s crazy how these editors managed to do so much with same footages we all had. I knew I lost the moment I saw the other edits. It’s insane how talented these people are. I think I’m gonna stick to editing films and short films. This is clearly not my bowl of… poke? Lol

I didn't do this challenge, but in my experience you just have to go crazy with it. Just embrace your wacky out there ideas and run with it. You can always tone it down if it is too much

@@pliniobarra Both of your mindset is the reason you'll never achiev it, unless you change mindset. What you're rambling is excuses to not improve and reach that point. Genuinety and skill can only come from time and care. It's not something only some people are born with.
Eder killed it. Really went the extra mile with his creativity and did something different. I personally watched like 100 of these entries and his for sure stands out.

I feel like first place was perhaps the best combination of creativity and skill, but in terms of actual advertisement, I preferred some of the others.
Second place was probably my favorite to watch. Gimmicky? Maybe. But it reminded me of the fruit ninja game; if filmmaking is about creating experiences, then second place did the best job of that.

If I were to choose, Luber is the winner with those 3D shots more fascinating than the effects of the 2nd placer.

Congrats to the winners, there are indeed a lot of talented people and that just made me realize that I need to learn and practice more and more.
To think I was 1/1274 that Daniel watched. Yes my video was not as good as the winners but what a learning experience! Just also helps reinforce that even if you have a low view count on videos, keep creating because you never know who watches! Thanks again! It was fun!
Man the Harvey Flux edit is the best in my opinion, it has amazing rhythm and flow and the speed ramps and effects compliment the soundtrack perfectly. It’s not as flashy as the other ones but I think it is the most tasteful. Congrats to all the winners, amazing job!

These types of videos are very important to highlight the difference between production and art.
Sometimes youtube creators are really trying to nail their look by simply duplicating the best examples...Not adding anything from the inside.

I entered this challenge to play around with some footage, and make a BTS video, but these guys went HARD on this challenge. It's so inspiring and awesome to see. It got me all excited to create more. Hope to see more of this community challenges.

Please Daniel, I need more contents!! I’m addicted to your video. You could make a series of videos where you talk about a B Roll project from start to finish. The third place entry was pretty similar to something I would've done and used some lightleaks that are very similar to ones I use occasionally. The blue "Fortnite-y" effects in the second place entry felt out of place, other than that it was great, I would've probably eased up a little bit on the speed ramps. The first place deserves praise for the complexity of it, but I would not choose it as my add of choice.
I would totally agree. As Daniel said, I found the graphics in the second one to be a bit gimmicky. The first one definitely is cool in the sense that it would have taken a lot of time to do, but I didn't connect with it, and thought shots like the cucumber getting cut to be a bit obnoxious and out of place. I really appreciate the technical prowess of it but I would have probably chosen the last honorable mention as the winner, or the third place entry.
Honorable mentions are thousand times great than top 3.
Damnnn nearly 1300 submissions lol - fearing the next edit challenge now as the number will definitely increase 😂 was lots of fun and a nice break from freelance editing, thanks so much for hosting it Daniel, looking forward to the next one !

Super fair Daniel. Eder definitely deserved #1 for the insane amount of hard work and if I was making Poke Bowls I would have certainly picked #2 to advertise the product by running on loop on a no audio mall screen. But my personal favourite, was the avocade horror story. The restraint to forget about the bowl and just make the avocado the hero and the creativity to use it to tell a story. 🤯

But it was a great experience participating in the challenge, also it enhanced my skills and also made me think out of the box seeing these incredible edit 🧡. I would say that luber mujica would have won because his edit had the best pace for me but it’s subjective and the overall winner had very difficult and sick edit

My favorite was the one that got second place, not only does the flashy, bright edit work for a food commercial but also the anime vibe it has I think appeals to the target demographic which is a western audience looking to try a kind of Japanese cuisine. The other one I kinda really liked as a standalone but not really as a commercial was Justin Craig's because it had such a unique concept
so many talented people around the world .
