This was helpful. I'm overwhelmed with the footage I've shot on a few rides I documented. I like the full timeline approach for each section... then cut, cut, cut. I'm a Premiere Pro guy, so the workflow is similar. I want to dive deeper into how you deal with multi-cam clips.
Glad I could help! I don't know if my multicam workflow will help, but here's a link to the video I did on it: th-cam.com/video/Zyq-qXRwoYo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks, Jerry! Inspirational? Man, I've been called a lot of things, but not that* ;) *I know you were referring to the video, not me. I tell ya what - if someone reaches out and says "John, you inspired me to do this video" and includes a link, I will 100% watch it :D #LifeGoals
There are a lot of great tips and pointers in this video, thank you! I am just finishing editing the 6th episode of a series I have done about our 8 day tour around Ireland, which is my first ever moto-travelog. The editing is taking me ages, and some of my footage leaves a bit to be desired, but it's all a learning process and I'm reasonably happy with the results as a beginner. I lack your creative flair, but I'm going to try to learn from you for sure.
You're welcome! This is EXACTLY why I created this video, and you GET IT. Thanks for watching, and send me a link when you get it done, I'll come check it out :D
Off to work. But I’m coming back to watch this. I was thinking, I know red flag ha ha. I would watch more of this channel if you were using different editing platforms or apps whatever you call them. Like some adobe Premiere Rush it’s a simple version, but would be cool to know more about it Already have an adobe account if I upgraded, it would be to adobe premier. I tried da Vinci once took up too much space on my computer and made it lag pretty bad. Probably be way too much to learn several different platforms and try to teach all of them, but just saying. ❤😊 no worries, John I’m just commenting and thinking out loud. I can still learn some thinking and thought processes about editing anyway.
No worries, man! I don't know Premiere or any other editing software, so I won't even start doing tutorials on them... just Resolve. Sounds like it's time for you to upgrade computers :D PS: Resolve is free, and the Studio version is a one-time payment of $300... as opposed to paying Adobe for a subscription :D
Yeah, take a while to learn. It sounded confusing with nods and all that I don’t know how to edit videos with the fancy stuff. I did the trial of Adobe premier and it was OK, but it still slowed me down. I think I need to upgrade my brain, I am going to have 64 of memory for my 16 gig computer laptop hopefully that will help.
@@MotoBaumVirginia Yeah, RAM definitely makes a BIG difference in the speed of editing. Solid state drives, RAM, and GPU make the biggest differences, IMO.
@@CreatorReality1 thank you I wanted to ask you on the live, but I felt like I’d be digging for too damn much information ha ha. My friend said it would possibly help. He’s the one that showed me what to order for ram which will be here Tuesday. Hopefully he will install it for me.I’ll be excited if it helps.
@@MotoBaumVirginia That'll be great! Your whole computer will just... run better with more RAM. I'm at the point where I need a whole new computer, LOL.
I really like the idea of Zoom Blur effect for speed ramped clips. Nice!
Thanks!
Thank you john. A lot of great info in this video. Got some new ideas to try.
Awesome! That was the goal :D
Watching here from Hong Kong
Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay :D
Great info, John! Steven Spielberg better watch out! Seriously, your VAMM video is great work.
Thanks, RJ! Spielberg has nothing to worry about... but maybe Uwe Boll [google THAT fiasco of a director, LOL]
GREAT Video! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
Showing support my friend. Channel is growing 😎👍👍
Thanks, man! Yeah, it's doing pretty well :D

That was some great behind the scenes. I really liked the 4 days in one video. Doing good stuff. Shall I say, "Inspirational"?
