5 shot rule:
- Wide/Establishing shot (show the location)
- Detail shot (face
- Medium shot (feet or legs)
- Following/tracking (from behind)
- Drone shot (from above/distance)

One of the reasons I take my laptop with me when travelling is to store my files at the end of everyday. I just lost a GoPro in my recent trip and luckily i only lost the footage of my last day. Which was the best footage cuz I got lost in the forest and rescued and all that footage was gone. but at least I was able to save the rest. Good tip and I recommend it to all as well.

You can make the same results with your smartphone! All you got to do is practice and practice, so when you get your first camera, you can implement what you've practiced right away :)

What exactly does any of this have to do with making "cinematic" travel videos? It's a great basic primer for how to produce a travel video, but the title is completely misleading. It's almost more like "how to be your own PM, AD, and PA, when making travel videos." Anyway I in no way mean this to be negative, just constructive. However, what you've got here for b-roll is certainly of "cinematic" quality!

How budgeting and packing made the list of steps to help make cinematic travel videos? I thought the steps were going to be more like angles, camera motion, slow motion and other things that make a difference when capturing scenes for a cinematic film

Why are people shooting travel videos like they're going to shoot a movie call Mom informative, and hopefully fun. The most important part of that is spontaneity. Imagine being in let's say Times Square I'm setting up your camera with the right angle to the Sun and shooting a video as opposed to shooting it completely spontaneous. Talk about trying to buzzkill your own travel experience travel experience. No thank you I would rather have the experience and some reasonable exciting footage as opposed to perfect footage.
Tou make hundreds of thousands selling courses and you care about how much you spend???? Marketing here...
