2014 Volvo S60 T6 R-Design Polestar - WR TV POV Test Drive

- Today we set our sights on this Swedish sports sedan from a brand that's perhaps been best known for its focus on safety in the past, but now looks to be making a run at nabbing some sales away from the performance divisions of automakers like Mercedes Benz and BMW.
Slotted between the standard S60 T6 and the hot-blooded, limited production S60 Polestar, the S60 T6 R-Design sports a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder motor that outputs 325 horsepower and 354lb-ft of torque, which routes the power to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. This combination gets the S60 T6 R-Design to 60mph from a standstill in five seconds flat.
The S60 T6 R-Design also gets uprated suspension bits including stiffer bushings, beefier sway bars and monotube dampers, and it rides half an inch lower than the standard S60. Inside, special R-Design sport seats, aluminum inlays and sport pedals round out the package.

I love this car. The 3.0l is my preferred choice over the new 2.0l 4 banger.
Ikr, this car with the 3.0L I6 engine was like the Swedish 335i, the way it drove, the way it sounded, and this car and the 335i had similar hp numbers, so I wish they never canceled the I6.

My brother just got a ticket because the cop didn't see the original three blinks from the turn signal when my brother was exiting off the expressway. It's a nice feature only having to tap it and it blinks three times, but my brother is proof that you shouldn't use the feature when you're exiting off a freeway. By the time the cop saw my brother still in the exit lane, he had already used his turn signal, but the cop just saw him driving in the lane with no signal on. My brother is now trying to fight the ticket, but he'll lose if the cop shows up. Just some friendly advice.
I talked to Volvo community.. and people seem to agree: The 3 themes is purely for a visual enhancement and nothing to do with the way the car behaves... Moving the shift lever into 'S' mode will change shift points on the transmission... Hope that helps.

We still have one in our xc60 from 2012 with 163 hp and i think 300 hm torque its a lovely car and still up to date for related everyday stuff/use.

No BLIS on this one? If there was ever a car that needed it, it's the S60. Thankfully it works fantastically.
+Bruno TaTa It actually does have BLIS, Volvo no longer uses the sensor below the mirror set-up and has switched to using the rear bumper sensor just like everyone else and it works much better now. At the 2:11 mark you can see the system light illuminate when the semi-truck drives by.
Why didn't you scroll through the different driving modes ? it seems to me that you were always in the ECO or Normal, and didn't try Sport (or Dynamic?)

Jordi Jansen Rafael is referring to Four-C Dynamic Chassis this car doesn't have that feature or it wasn't shown.... The Test drive was done in ECO and Normal Transmission modes. Different from the Four C...
Epr7339 of the three modes (Elegance, Sport, and Eco), he used the Elegance mode the entire time. If he put it in Sport mode, it would have changed the gauge cluster and would have had the transmission hold higher revs.
That's sill not the same as the Dynamic Chassis, That does nothing to the gauge cluster. Elegance, Sport and Eco are not the same as if this car had the Four-C Dynamic Chassis, Separate system. What you are talking about is Adaptive Digital Display..And just changes the Theme bit not the Chassis.
Oem suspension? Shoulda get a better one...

Bad driving habits, you don't shift your hands around the wheel like that during aggressive driving. These two turns are perfect examples why someone shouldn't shift hands while turning the wheel. Always keep your hands on nine three positions.

Hey Dad its a sedan and the insurance is cheap.
If you have to work on one and bang your brain on there actual engineering quality ( engine) versus there longevity of miles and years of service you would expect ! drive it off into a river and cut your loses , VOLVO ,,, no mercy engineering mechanically . On the plus, great ride and comfort while it last.
