Picked up my 2018 volvo s60 with 52k miles. I absolutely love the car, and it is packed with gadgets.
The only annoyance is that the car doesn't come with android auto and Apple carplay.
The thing that surprised me the most is how much power the car has. The turbocharged 4 cylinder is punchy, and with plenty of torque. The 8 speed automatic transmission makes an excellent combination for the car.
The only thing I don't like about my car is it didn't come with the optional and more powerful speakers. Also, it didn't come with heated seats. I need that option since it's so cold here in Maryland.
    Enjoy your volvo guys!

I spent 3 years with that S60 and really enjoyed. My sister has it now, and shockingly it's been trouble-free.
There is an option to retrofit Apple CarPlay/Android Auto - go to swedespeed.com and check out some threads that describe how to do that.

@EUROCARGUY glad to hear about the reliability aspect of the car. Actually that was my next question and you have read my mind. Good to know becauee that was my main concern.
I will check out that option of how to add the apple carplay. Thanks for the tip.

We have some nice twisty, hilly roads on the outskirts of Sydney, so naturally I had to test it out. 😄

I have the exact same car as shown with about 27k miles. I've driven it for about 20k. I absolutely love it, except for maintenance. Bro. What. A. Pain. It has been. I don't like going to the dealer because yk, expensive. But doing it on my own has been difficult compared to other cars and brands. But its European what did I expect ? Anyways. I replaced the struts with a friend over the summer and that was not fun for many reasons. More recently, I just did an oil change today. I had a lot of difficulty removing the part where the oil filter sits. The part to remove it is hard to come by here in the States because it is made specifically for European models. gah. I digress, the car has been more than reliable. However, I have had troubles with air pressure in my tires and was wondering if anyone had the same issue. Maybe just my weird climate. Anyways, I would definitely recommend this car to anyone. It also has extremely high safety ratings and is AWD! ALSO::: I have never taken the car over 4.5-5 rpm like this you did. I'm SCARED. Idk. I think I should replace the spark plugs/coils and transmission fluid first.

I think you might’ve got a bad year because Volvo’s don’t tend to break down, especially the new ones, but they are expensive to maintain I will agree

I’ve owned two v60 p3’s one with the 5cyl and one with the 4cyl and both are very easy to work on. Oil change on both are simple to do compared to other modern euro cars. I put about 30k a year on mine and both proved to be very reliable.

Recently got a 2015 d2 model and the only thing I have to say isn't perfect is that the 6 speed automatic transition is very noticable at times, the deceleration especially feels jerky when it suddenly decides to change gears when slowing down.

We drive a 2015 d3 and as you say the transmission is very hard sometimes, but it might have to do with age as we have 170K KM driven.

    • @EUROCARGUY
      @EUROCARGUY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

It's a safe, easy to live with, comfortable car. I had had it for three years and never regretted getting it. Now it's in my sister's possession who's not a car enthusiast, but enjoys driving it and doesn't plan on getting rid of it any time soon.
Two things you have to take under consideration though, are that the S60 being a European luxury sedan (if you look at Volvo as a luxury brand), will be more expensive to maintain. Another thing is turning radius is pretty big and the car is relatively wide for a compact sedan.

    • @EUROCARGUY

The video doesn’t do the justice, but I can guarantee that the Corolla has less refined ride and more road & wind noise. I had a chance to spend sometime with both cars and the S60 was my daily for 3 years. Toyota will undoubtedly be more reliable though, and cheaper to maintain.
