  • Testing the transfercase and manumatic transmission.
It's a manually switched automatic transmission (thus called manumatic)
P R N 3 2 1 (gears switch up and down along with shifter movement, no ECU controlled gear switch).

Do you have a diagram or details on how to manualize the trans. I'm needing to do the same thing

@@dlahiang oke. There are specific plate that makes it stronger (the case)
I have several times break the case 🤣

@@thoontjepower yup .. but the bracer plate won't help in my case (because the inner gear teeth simply won't stand the power of 1uz)

Hi Doug, I really like your setup. Can you please tell me which Transfer case is this ? also any issues running this at highway speeds ? I would really appreciate if you can give info which truck to get this exact TC so I can mate it with 1UZ/A341E.

i wouldn't suggest you to use samurai transfer case ... the engine power and torque just rip the gear apart.
i would suggest you to use another stronger TC. i believe Atlas can custom build theirs to facilitate divorced TC (change input into divorced type).
another option is to fabricate spline adapter and make one to match a341e output spline and input spline of original TC from the car (cheaper this way).

Doug, One more question, If I'm looking for regular 4x4 ... No hardcore stuff.. just regular snow highway driving. Do you think NP205 will do or still will break becuase of 1UZ power and torque ?

    sam's transfer case??

      +francisco jimenez
yes ... correct for easier installation (divorced TC), it's quite hard to find local workshop that can mate FJ40 TC to A341E.
This car was running OK already but transmission is currently being rebuild.

FWIW you can combine the A341E with an AW4 using the front half of the Lexus a341 and the rear tail housing and output shaft of a jeep AW4 then your able to use almost any transfer case out there from anything put behind a jeep such as a D300 any of the New process versions provided you have a 23 spline input or even bumping up into an NP205 or aftermarket cases such as an Atlas

Hi doug looks neat and seems if it would work I'm not rude but that rubber will not last it was not made to take all that torque from heavy offroading guys here in South Africa aIso try this and rubber always fails I build adapters for lexus autoboxes to most transfercases here is the link get in contact with me for some more advice m.facebook.com/Adaptors/?locale2=af_ZA
