Second off, your adaptation to double the employees is great… you should think about your ultimate capabilities to create breathtaking cars and look for the capability to modify 20-30 cars at a a time. Hi guys, I love the videos that you put together for all us mad keen people especially the wide and interesting projects like the honda allegro upcoming one. When Nat began this video and commented on the nearly doubling of your staff numbers which I think is an indictment of the standard of your work and you ability to think outside the box to solve issues, I wondered to myself whether it surprises you both the amount of work and people prepared to pay for what is essentially a toy. Of course I wish you continued growth and success and hope the work will always be there for you both and all your employees. I'd find it interesting to hear your thoughts as I'm sure others would. Thanks Nat and Callum. Greetings from Perth, Western Australia.

    I hope you find your cantine an excellent catalyst for ideas - I remember much contentious mumbling about the 'social intercourse' around our coffee-corner (the end of two corridors and a small balcony) where people would gather and discuss... The feeling was that discussion was to the detriment of work - in reality, the exchange of ideas and the solution of individual problems increased dramatically the work processes, often through the chance encounter with a colleague at an opportune moment.

  • @ThePaulv12

    They make 2" shackles for FJ40s. They are actually meant to raise them up a bit - however - they have a very positive effect on ride quality because the angle of them cushions a lot of the harshness. Despite the higher CoG the handling is actually better too, as is braking.
    Leaf sprung FJ40s are very unforgiving of mid corner lift off of the accelerator at speed. The axles start steering and the driver corrects and it induces more steering and they run wide, then tighten in from driver input, then turn over. It happens very quickly, so quickly that the driver often doesn't know what happened.
    It's because of the leaf mounting points the front springs are mounted solidly at the rear and vice versa for the rear springs. As you corner - particularly with a V8 as speed is likely to be higher than with any of the OEM engine offerings - the cornering forces compress the leafs, lengthening them on the outside and shortening them on the inside, inducing uncommanded steering input.
    On a right sweeper for example the front axle steers right, and the rear steers left slightly and this is different to the line the driver selects.
    It is all completely fine until it isn't and it isn't if you're over cooked speedwise. It is made worse the heavier the vehicle is. Not too bad if it is driver and one passenger but load it up for a camping trip with gear, water and fuel the effect is frightening.
    Extended shackles lessen this effect noticeably but it's still there.
    Owned two of these, the second also has a V8.

  • @oikkuoek
    @oikkuoek ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very similar noise problem should be expected on the FJ40's wiring, when you get it up and running. Not sure if isolating the sensor wires and injector wires will remedy the problem completely. Although the initial idea of hiding all the wires under that cover seems like tidy solution, it also creates a space where heat and electrical noise builds up.
