What’s annoying is people complaining that the trailer spoiled the twist when that’s not the point. The point of the movie is how will the killer get out of this situation what will happen to them. Him being the killer isn’t the twist.

Yes but the issue is m night tends to hide twists even when he tries to give them away - so people expected another which was the problem of the trailer overexposing it

He says the plan all along was not to catch me at the concert but to catch me at the house. Everyone was in on the plot to get him back to the house and then catch him. They knew he would go back stage. He would use the singer to get out. and she would lead him to the house. The wife found his bag in the car and poisoned him with the drugs in the bag. That was her improvising. That is why all the cops were already at the house. I think that was the ah hah moment we were supposed to get.

People are accustomed to M Night Shyamalan's twists that many were disappointed that there was no twists here.
Only downside here is Saleka Shyamalan getting way more screentime while Josh Harnet is simply amazing & concert pyrotechniqes & everything wrt concert was too realistic.

If we MUST find a "twist," I'd say that the wife's involvement qualifies. She's the one who left the ticket receipt on purpose. Makes me want to see it again to see how Cooper reacts when he hears about the receipt. He KNOWS that's not the kind of mistake he'd have made. And that's sort of how Shyamalan twists work, right? Here are several inconsistencies and unanswered questions I noticed in the movie. Perhaps you can make another video addressing these: (1) WHY is Cooper taking his daughter to a concert and leaving his wife and son at home? Wouldn't they all want to go to the concert together? (2) If police were tipped off by Cooper's wife, WHY didn't she give her name, address, etc? (3) If police knew the killer would be there, why not check people as they come in instead of on the way out? (4) If police found ticket receipt, couldn't they find out their seat location? (5) If Cooper's wife drugged him with the pie, why did the drugs have no affect, and allow him to keep going? Did the tazers neutralize the drug? (6) How could the police not notice Cooper removing the bike spoke and how could he remove the spoke so easily?

I’m usually fairly harsh on movies, especially from notorious directors, but I actually enjoyed this one. The main thing is that Hartnett’s performance in this kept me so engaged. The entire movie I kept wondering how he was going to get out of the situation he was in & evade the police. I also loved the ending on the condition that we get a sequel. If we don’t get a sequel to this movie, I will be extremely disappointed because the ending perfectly sets it up. I did think the 3rd act was a bit chaotic in terms of progressing the plot, but either way, I was invested in this movie. This one is fun and captivating. Josh Hartnett did a PHENOMENAL job portraying a psychopath.

Honestly this movie reminded me so much of light yagami from death note, protagonist got caught bcuz of ppl he trusted trope. There are some parts which felt like lazy writing or atleast trying forcefully to get him caught like: when raven snatched his phone she got access to it even tho it had password lock, when he kidnapped raven, he was at some crossroad with plenty of time, instead of hog tying, putting tape on her mouth or putting her inside trunk, he left her with just a handcuff that too on one hand tied close to window & drove straight into traffic in the middle of city. The concert part of the movie was great but the ending, it was disappointment/unsatisfying just like shyamalan's leave the world behind.

In fact i had made a few guesses before that were totally wrong. But this was important bc i feel he took a big step into straightforward film making. There was no twist, and i waited for one.
I appreciate that he was willing to break away from what hes known for to deliver a pretty good thriller. I agree w bradley660 and thought the wife was in on it too. I feel that using hayley as the FBI psyc but was glad to see her.
I did aee the bike spoke coming but night has really managed to create the Genesis of a killer the likes of michael myers. There are so many things he could do with this now. He can totally break away from repititious, predictable filmmaking. Not too many people would be willing to tamper/mess with the stuff that made him. Lots of potential here.
