Cant tell you how much this advice helped! Ive played golf on and off casually for 20 years, but never taken lessons. Always self taught, trial and error. Im a big guy, and have always been able to hit my drives 280+. Since i turned 40, something changed in my swing and I couldn't figure it out. I was hitting 240-250 kind of suddenly, and didn't feel like anything changed in my swing. So i attributed it to "getting older"... Well, i have been working on this more "ready stance" you mentioned, and almost instantly saw results getting me back up to that 280-290 range again! I didnt realize how lazy I had become in my posture. Thank you for putting out the content that you do! Its GREATLY appreciated!
Wow! That's great. If you are able to hit it 280 as you get older you will lose a little but not much. So you were hitting with arms to get a drop that big. Yes, ready stance. This will get you coiling properly. Then think it's around and around not up and down. th-cam.com/video/x5K9S9vZiN0/w-d-xo.html Keep the arms super loose coming down and through. As I keep saying you don't have to be strong to be loose so you should be able to do this for life.

I noticed this tonight when I watched my swing videos. I am always bent over...hitting shanks and blocks 3 out of 5 shots🤦. I toyed with standing taller. It feels very different, but it feels so much better. Golf is so bass awards, lol. Thanks for the tips👍
@paulwilsongolf gotcha, I think it only feels way different because how far I have been bending over. I also notice that I almost sit back and knees bend a lot. My lead knee ends up bent/bowed forward in my finish. Do you think this will solve that issue with the knee bowing forward in the finish position? Thanks for your time and knowledge Paul!
Well, it might. Typically the lead knee is bent due to human nature trying to protect your knees. You need to get used to it locking and overcome human nature. Being too bent could be stopping you from locking it though. See how you do.
Amazing timing with this tip. I have a 9 HC and couldn't seem to get any better. I was watching your videos and picking up some nice little changes. But the other night I was practicing my swing. It was night so I saw myself in the reflection in the lanai slider glass and noticed I was bending a little more than I should be (with 7 iron). It wasn't as severe as you demonstrated. What was the aha moment was that I don't have this problem with my driver (hit 250-275). So I determined that with the driver -because of the length of the club - I wasn't doing that. But with my irons, I was squatting more. So I stood up more with the irons. Hit a small bucket at the range and after topping a few at first (just like you said), I was hitting it flush with rotation! Shot a 76 on my first round using the change. Just wanted to provide some corroboration for your tip(s). Many thanks for what you do
So glad you tried it with the irons. We do this will driver and longer clubs because they are longer. It's the shorter the club the more we tilt which is a huge problem. I would think this is going to be on your mind and you'll keep doing it forever. 76 is exciting for sure. Keep at it.
You literally have pulled my Dad out of his depression. He retired, felt useless and spiraled into a depression. He tried to pick up golf, but did not enjoy it, because he couldn’t get the hang of it. We started showing him all your vids and he started working on things and he is now a new man. Amazing Job, the best at what you do!
I corrected my posture based on your guidance, I started having pars and a few birdie chances. I did see an increase in distance. Thank you sir... all the way from Korea.
Very good. Too many people are bent over way too much. This bending is not good for your back and you swing. Glad you tried it. Just don't stand too tall. Athletic.
Thank you Paul. Just in case helpful for anyone else out there (and in case I hear from Paul I shouldn't do this!) I found it valuable for me to not only think about a taller setup, but also to maintain the taller position during my swing/rotation. For me, I updated Paul's "touch the back of your head" position at the follow through to also include the feeling of me standing tall, with my lower back arched a little inward, at the end of my swing. Before, I was starting off tall, and then bending over some during my swing, which created inconsistencies. Once I started with the taller setup and then maintained it during the swing, it made the world of difference - hitting it much more consistently and further.
Wow, thank you! I have been playing golf for about 50 years, a lot of lessons, a lot of practice, a lot of gimmicks, and after two weeks of six TH-cam videos, not only hitting the ball longer, 80% of my shots are sweet instead of 10%.... Alan
Did this today and hit some of the most accurate shots on any range visit I can remember. Was picking the ball off the turf fat shots were minimal. It’s a feeling of weight being toward the heels and keep the arms relaxed throughout. You will want to resist rolling the club face open on the takeaway…Thanks for the awesome tip!
Great concept..Much more freedom of movement and instant increase in club speed.. significantly more comfortable with the weight back toward your heels as opposed to up toward your toes..
Glad you liked it. Just getting people to try it and see what happens. Not too tall though. Heel is better than toes for sure. Never going to shank it if your weight falls back.
Went to the range and tried this and it's going to work..amazing. I hit 7Irons like I had hair again...hit a small bucket and torched some 7 irons but also shanked some because of the change and getting used to it. I stand closer to the ball now and it just feels 100% better. I'm going to ride this thing out with Paul and go through these videos because i honestly believe this is a great system. Also took this same "stand up taller" attitude to the putting green and that has also helped believe it or not...no more slumping over...feels great and i believe im on the right track. Thank you Paul
This will take about 3 practice sessions to get used to. Then instead of thinking of how uncomfortable it is you can do back to thinking about what you are working on in your swing. I recently went back to taller putting too. I was getting way too low. Works great. You are on track. Big things for you in the future. Good job.
Always appreciate the free advice on youtube! I did buy the Body Swing on your website and these little tips just further help with the foundations you have on the paid service. Also, I see a lot of comments about older players. I’m 38 and can still swing the way most pros teach a golf swing and hit it pretty well, HOWEVER, this program has me hitting distances and directions CONSISTENT! I lost a little bit of yardage (about 10-20 yards) but its so nice to know if I have to hit a ball 150 yards I know exactly which club will do it every time! Great technique regardless of age. Thanks Paul!
Thanks for your support. I truly appreciate it. Yes, these supplement The Body Swing as I have no time limit I can go in depth (not that I don't want you thinking in simple terms). Glad you see that this new swing they are teaching (I tried it 20 years ago) is harder to be consistent. Glad you are sticking with it. You can get a little more distance into the future with a little looser wrists and little quicker hips but for now just let it settle in and make it perfect.
I bought The Body Swing a couple of years ago and felt it helped my game. Over the past year, I began losing some distance (I'm 72 so I get that it's in part a consequence of aging) so I reviewed TBS and established that I was bent over too far, among other things. I remedied the setup and in practice, it's had a great effect. Playing is a different story because old habits are hard to break. I'm also getting to the top of the backswing better, the shaft closer to parallel with the Driver, always has been a struggle for me. In videos from 5 years or more ago, my backswing was incredibly short, leading to all kinds of compensations that created all kinds of inconsistencies.
Thanks for the support and glad you improved. Losing distance at your age is hitting. I did a tip on this here: th-cam.com/video/8docjX_sxUk/w-d-xo.html It's easy to start bending over. Glad you caught that. As for playing you need your routine so you don't miss anything. Longer backswing is good. Short swings are for young people. Do daily practice swings at home facing a mirror to check your backswing length. Just watch the club get to parallel then keep doing it daily. In a couple of weeks it should be going there on it's own.
Thanks for the support. Yes, I know my students and what they are capable of. Plus, my students are typically older. Imagine a 75 year old trying to do this new tilted swing. Good luck.
I have three grandsons I’m working with on their games at far different skill sets. Your videos are great to share with each of them. Oh yes, I’m 71 years young and benefit, too. 😉
Great Morning Paul. I don't want you to think I just take. I haven't played much golf this month or last. When I do I Take Your Program With Me. Everyone Who Will Take The time to read this. Mr Willson Is Correct about Playing Until Your Older Years. My Body Doesn't Hurt As Much After My Rounds Of Golf. When I hurt Myself with My Swing I also hurt my scorecard. Now It's one of my slow it down reminders. Easy Pezzy Lemon Squeezy. Greatest game ever played.
This particular video really helped me to see how the body swing blows away the arm swing. I know you were exaggerating the forward tilt for demo purposes, but as you swung the club around you could see that the body was forced to stop turning as the arms continued to. I also noticed that a narrow stance compliments the body turn way more than a wide stance.
Glad you see it. Glad it registered in your mind. This is half the battle. It feels good to just whack away at it. Yes, do not do a wide stance. This will hamper the rotation. Glad you are with me. Keep at it now you see you can do it.
I tried this today and found it a great and helpful advice that I never saw in another video 👍🏻. It worked really well with the driver 😊, but it was a little bit difficult with my irons, maybe more practice needed, or the irons need a different posture for me... but however, hitting the driver was finally fun again 😉
You could be standing too tall or not tilting your head down enough. I have heard this in the past. The ball can be right on the line of the glasses for some people. So you need to either use 2 pair of glasses, bend over a little more, tilt your chin down. Just don't set up too tall.
Tried this at the range today. It also allowed me to focus of keeping my left arm straight all the way through the swing and helped me to keep my weight balanced in my feet instead of having my weight in my heels or the balls of my feet. Boom game changer. Was hitting effortless 215-225 yard power fades. Now if I could just get it straighter and further. When I try to swing a bit faster I start to shoot right
Glad you tried it. Just stay focused on what you are doing and let it settle in for a few practice sessions. This alone should get you more confidence which will give you more distance. In the future, when you are ready to take it up a notch follow the tips below (in order): Increase Hip Speed: th-cam.com/video/hJeAcEYbvhM/w-d-xo.html Release: th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html Do this to straighten it out: th-cam.com/video/bLskGy7rulo/w-d-xo.html
After feeling so sore all the time after playing this is great. Not only does standing taller take the strain off your back but your arms feel loser and its much easier in the backswing. And you wont shank the ball like tou said in your other video
Great tip. I didn't realize I was tilted too far all these years. I was always told to avoid the "baseball" swing but actually it makes more sense as long as I clear my hips and turn towards the target in the latter part of the downswing.
Mind boggling that people don't see golf as the same move as baseball. Watch: th-cam.com/video/Q0yC-wIHnZc/w-d-xo.html See it as the same. If you can hit a baseball you can hit a golf ball. This should dramatically change your game.
@@paulwilsongolf Well, it was my Grandpa but he meant well :) I think he was talking mainly about the swing plane because I topped the ball a lot when I was first learning but that "don't do a baseball swing" stuck in my head all these years
I’m back from my 10 week my hiatus from golf after my motorcycle accident, first day was awful but remembering stand tall I started hitting better 2nd day I always try and remember your tips and it always helps
If you watch the footage of Tiger and Butch Harmon talking about the swing changes they worked on, they mentioned working on Tiger having a taller set up as well
For sure. Remember him back in the day? Taller for sure. I really don't like this bent over swing people seem to be doing. Hurts your back plus it is not dominating the tour. Who is? Scotty Scheffler. Old school taller swing.
@@paulwilsongolf I started implementing a taller set up recently. It stopped my pushes and slices. When my slices come back I realize I’m starting to bend down again. I almost feel like I’m standing straight up compared to what I used to do. Videoing myself I don’t look as vertical as I feel but my set up definitely look better than before. Feel and real definitely are so different.
Well don't get too tall. The position is like short stop position. Take short stop position put your hands together and look down until you can see the ball. That's it.
Thanks so much for this video. Instantly seeing improvements. Wow..I was that person you talk of. Bending over to much, getting weight way to forward of toe line creating really bad sway's and tips. Saved by golf sanity with this one.
I’m damn near scratch and I am a really flat swinger and seem to be bent over a lot, infact I’ve had a swing in the past so bent over before that after the round my foot started to get hot bc of the nerves I was irritating! I’m in constant low back pain. Probably a herniated disc at this point, but I’ve never tried standing tall. Gonna go give it a shot tonight thx Paul.
I think you're right. Also, I believe there's a direct correlation between how bent over you are and how strong your grip has to be. The more bent over, the stronger it will have to be. I think that's why you need a neutral grip with a taller stance.
Great!! I had a spinal fusion surgery 40 years ago and only the bottom two lumbar vertebrae are not fused together so I have almost NO side bend....it is physically impossible. This has always been my nemesis playing. Every time I have taken a lesson, I have been told that if I can't get any side bend, I will never get better. If I stand up taller with my irons (especially the shorter ones), do I compensate for the lost height by having more bend in my knees or making the iron stand more upright (flat lie on the ground)? I'd love to see you do a video on this subject with irons. Glad to finally see a video on this that is different than everyone else!
Forget sidebend you don't need it and you can become great. I have spondylolisthesis. Always had a back back. Never hurts playing golf. I tried this bent over swing they are all teaching in practice swings on my mat. Woke up the next day with my back on fire. I haven't had back pain in 40 years playing golf. People are inconsistent because they are hitting with their arms. Need to turn them off and use your body. All of my tips revolve around this concept. I have tons of lower body tips now posted. Try this one. It's an easy way to get you hips moving: th-cam.com/video/j1mS5Ku8Q10/w-d-xo.html
I actually used this advice and it worked very well. Everyone told me I stood too tall, don’t listen to them. I had this swing for a year and went from scoring in the 100s to mid 80s. Recently took a golf lesson and the instructor completely changed my swing and said I stood too tall and now I’m playing the worst golf I’ve ever played
Well, you don't want to be too tall but this bent over swing they are teaching now is never going to work for the average player. Try to do an athletic or ready position like short stop. If you clearly see your toes you're too low. Peripheral is fine but do not clearly see your toes.
Thanks Paul. Great Video. The standing tall has totally changed my game. I actually feel like I’m swinging the club. Not clubbing it. Plus so much easier to maintain spine angle. Plus a longer fuller swing. I know you touched on irons Paul, but does it apply to wedges? Still stand as tall as you can? Best wishes Gary. England.
Glad you liked it. This is huge. Just don't be too tall. It's short stop or ready position. Yes, this especially applies to shorter clubs. Again, not too tall. I just don't want people bending over too much.
Amazing how I’ve been trying to fix my pull hook shots for so long and it was just as easy as standing taller. While is golf so difficult yet so simple at the same time???
Simple is difficult for most. There is a ball sitting there and people want to whack at it as hard as they can. So although it is simple the ball is the problem. Just think that you are making a movement and the ball will be hit. In other words change how you think.
Do you think that this feel will get rid of early extension and moving the head up at impact? I love this explanation, really spot on. Do you provide any online lessons if I send a video of my swing trying to achieve this? Thanks!!
You need to add more hip rotation through impact to get rid of early extension. You can also work on this too: th-cam.com/video/X_pF7x-OCXU/w-d-xo.html Try this trigger: th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html I don't have time to do analysis anymore (especially right now as it's golf season). We really only do them for those who have my products as they know exactly what I teach so we are not having to explain it.
This was taller for sure. So many of these seniors are bent over too much. I don't want people to be too tall but taller is better to help reduce pain. Glad you like it.
Nice video. I stand tall but I still have a tendency to either hit the ground with my driver and/or hit the heel/shaft of the driver. Any help greatly appreciated!
Bending over too much was killing my distance. Before I hit I stand straight up club in hand and out arm stretched out. Then I lower club to ground. Boom I'm at my perfect distance from ball
I have watched several of your "Body Swing" videos now (10-15). In this video, you mention standing taller. In adopting the "Body Swing" mechanics, can a golfer still use standard club lengths (irons) ? Or is it recommended to have longer shaft lengths? ...club head lie changes? Thanks..
Not sure why the disconnect. Stand up. Use your height to your advantage. Too many taller players bending way over. So stand up. To get it reduce the angle between the club and arms (from down the line). This taller club allows you to set up taller. Lots of angle and you will bend over too much. Once you are up then think it is around and around not up and down. Watch this: th-cam.com/video/x5K9S9vZiN0/w-d-xo.html I have taught countless taller people with my tallest being 7 feet. I stand them up and get them swinging around. Way easier and never hurts the body. Give it a try. Keep in mind that the flaw would be hitting thin and topped shots for a few minutes because you are not used to being taller as you swing.
Stand tall with shorter clubs. I tell people to do this all of the time. Watch this one and you will understand why: th-cam.com/video/m9kj0548rYw/w-d-xo.html Look at the comments below the tip and see how many hundreds of shankers I have fixed.
Yeah that would be around and down not around and around. If you lean left you will swing left. So lean right as you come down. Just do swings up in the air. There is no way you would swing around then down. You would go around and around 100% of the time. So get the feeling then slowly do it lower.
Hi Paul, somebody recently told me that I hold my hands and the club handle too low. Is there a point of reference for where the golf club handle should point such as your gully button or bell buckle? Thanks.
Yes, just check the toe/heel position when the club is behind the ball. You want to toe just slightly higher than the heel. If the toe is way up your hands are too low. If you are of average height (I am 5'10") the but will point pretty much at the belt buckle.
I hit the ball way better standing taller and my lower back hurts less, but I still wonder why there are great players who do not stand tall, like Keegan Bradley for instance.
Yes, all clubs. Just don't be too tall. Athletic. Imagine someone throwing a basketball at you. Would you be bent over looking at the ground? No. So take this stance imagining a ball going to be throw at you. Put your hands together like your gripping a club. Then lower your chin until you can see the ball.
I have been working on this for awhile and have seen somee improvement in my swing. I am using the single plane swing and my swing plane is from shoulder to shoulder. I watch many golf tournaments and that seems to be where most tour player are (shoulder to shoulder). You stance at address can't be vertical and can't be horizontal either. There must be some sweet spot where the swing is optimized. The amount of bend is likely different for each club. I am looking for a process where I can the correct amount of lean at address. Can you help?
To get this look at the toe/heel position. If you are too bent over the toe will be too much off the ground. Too tall and it will be too flush. You want the toe just slightly higher than the heel to make up for clubhead droop. If you are doing a single plane swing though they would want you reducing the angle in your wrists to shaft. I thought they wanted your clubs bumped more upright? Could have sworn I heard that. To me that's fine the taller the better without being too tall. Also, to check you need to see your ball clearly not your toes clearly (peripheral is fine). So stand up and check what you are seeing. I like people to look up to the sky then look down until they clearly see the ball. If you clearly see your toes you are too low. This is an easy way to check it.
I like the feeling that my belt buckle is facing the ball at address and remains at that level through release of the club after hitting the ball. Does that gibe with your method?
For sure. The new flavor of the week is this bent over the swing. News flash. That swing is not dominating the tour. Who is the best striker? Scheffler. See how upright and tall he is. Maybe there is a correlation there ... hmmm.
We do if the shot is important enough to put it on. You do realize it takes time to put the tracer on? Before they came out with their new software it would easily take an hour per line.

I found it valuable for me to not only think about a taller setup, but also to maintain the taller position during my swing/rotation.
Very good. Glad you figured it out. Keep at it.
Wow, thank you! I have been playing golf for about 50 years, a lot of lessons, a lot of practice, a lot of gimmicks, and after two weeks of six TH-cam videos, not only hitting the ball longer, 80% of my shots are sweet instead of 10%.... Alan
Very good. So we now know who you are going to follow right?
Did this today and hit some of the most accurate shots on any range visit I can remember. Was picking the ball off the turf fat shots were minimal. It’s a feeling of weight being toward the heels and keep the arms relaxed throughout. You will want to resist rolling the club face open on the takeaway…Thanks for the awesome tip!
Glad you tried it. I say weight on laces so be careful you don't get the weight too far back. Arms totally relaxed for sure.
Good job.
@@paulwilsongolf wish i had known about this years ago but it’s never too late in golf. Thank you for your work.
Great video. Thanks Paul...I really needed to see this. Cheers.
Glad it was helpful! Just be careful not to stand too tall. This will save you back.
I did a tip on this here:
th-cam.com/video/8docjX_sxUk/w-d-xo.html
It's easy to start bending over.
I suscribed to this chanel because you are one of the few instructors who understands that the average golfer is not a contortionist.
Thanks for the support. Yes, I know my students and what they are capable of. Plus, my students are typically older. Imagine a 75 year old trying to do this new tilted swing. Good luck.
This is the best tip ever. A game changer. Thank you!
Yes, so many people are bent over way too much.
I have three grandsons I’m working with on their games at far different skill sets. Your videos are great to share with each of them. Oh yes, I’m 71 years young and benefit, too. 😉
That's great. They pick it up super fast and will have it for life. Glad you are doing well too. Keep at it.

Glad you liked it. This fixes so many issues plus it helps reduce pain in your back.
Love the way you teach….. so good . Keep it up for all of us 😊😊
Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Another great tip from Paul. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
This looks like it applies to me. Will try it out at the range this week. Thanks for the tip!
For sure. Give it a try.
I tried this today and found it a great and helpful advice that I never saw in another video 👍🏻. It worked really well with the driver 😊, but it was a little bit difficult with my irons, maybe more practice needed, or the irons need a different posture for me... but however, hitting the driver was finally fun again 😉
Just don't go too tall. Need to look down at the toe/heel position. The toe should be slightly higher than the heel. You may have been too tall.
For us with bifocals it hard to play with your chin up… I had to get glasses made with no bifocals… it has helped me allot…. Great video…
In the future, when you are ready to take it up a notch follow the tips below (in order):

After feeling so sore all the time after playing this is great. Not only does standing taller take the strain off your back but your arms feel loser and its much easier in the backswing. And you wont shank the ball like tou said in your other video
For sure. You should never be in pain playing golf. If you are you are doing it wrong.
Thumbs up subscribed. Because I tried this after watching your video and it worked!!! Thank you
Thanks for the sub! Just be careful not to be too tall.
Great tip. I didn't realize I was tilted too far all these years. I was always told to avoid the "baseball" swing but actually it makes more sense as long as I clear my hips and turn towards the target in the latter part of the downswing.
Mind boggling that people don't see golf as the same move as baseball. Watch:
th-cam.com/video/Q0yC-wIHnZc/w-d-xo.html
See it as the same. If you can hit a baseball you can hit a golf ball. This should dramatically change your game.
@@paulwilsongolf Well, it was my Grandpa but he meant well :) I think he was talking mainly about the swing plane because I topped the ball a lot when I was first learning but that "don't do a baseball swing" stuck in my head all these years
Right. Well give it a try and don't be scared of it. I think this should make a huge difference to your swing.
I’m back from my 10 week my hiatus from golf after my motorcycle accident, first day was awful but remembering stand tall I started hitting better 2nd day I always try and remember your tips and it always helps
Glad you're back. It will take a while just be thankful you are back out there. Build it up slowly.
Glad it was helpful! Sometimes it just takes that one thing. Keep at it.
Thankyou Paul,great concise instructions.
Glad you like the tips. Thanks for the support.
For sure try it. Just don't be too tall. I have a bad bad too. I do this bent over swing and it's killing me. Taller and I never have an issue.
I think you're right. Also, I believe there's a direct correlation between how bent over you are and how strong your grip has to be. The more bent over, the stronger it will have to be. I think that's why you need a neutral grip with a taller stance.
Yes, it's also right side bend too. The more bend the stronger the grip.
Awesome tip, reminds me of what one of Brooks Koepka’s coaches said. P.G.A.: Posture Grip and Address.
For sure. Those are all things that should be perfect because you're not even in motion yet.

That makes so much sense Paul, when you hunched over the ball it reminded me of my setup. Keep up the good work 👏
Thank you so much Paul for your valuable tips. It definitely helps and very logical for the hip turn. Surely will share with my friends.
Thanks so much. I appreciate all the help I can get.
Armpits over your feet. I did this bent over fault this as an overcompensation for trying to stay in posture. We always tend to overdo an adjustment.
We sure do.
Great tip and very helpful video. Tqvm Paul !
Glad you liked it. Thanks.
Standing tall and having loose wrists allowed me to shoot 72 the other day. Thanks Paul
Very good. That bent over set up is a back breaker. Always check your grip and set up into the future.
Thanks Paul Makes Sense!
For sure. Give it a try.
Sounds good, but wouldn't this tend to necessitate some longer clubs? Especially if you were fitted for clubs when you were leaning over?
No, that would be setting up too tall. I did say don't do that at the end of the video.
I'll try it ,,,,I think this will help me. 👏👏👏👍
For sure. Definitely takes pressure off of your back.
Very apt lesson
Glad you liked it. Thanks.
Do you think that this feel will get rid of early extension and moving the head up at impact? I love this explanation, really spot on. Do you provide any online lessons if I send a video of my swing trying to achieve this? Thanks!!
You need to add more hip rotation through impact to get rid of early extension. You can also work on this too: th-cam.com/video/X_pF7x-OCXU/w-d-xo.html
Try this trigger: th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html
I don't have time to do analysis anymore (especially right now as it's golf season). We really only do them for those who have my products as they know exactly what I teach so we are not having to explain it.
I’m going to give it a try.
Once you get used to it you'll will never want to tilt to much.
That is an upright-vertical swing if I ever seen one, and it looks good
This was taller for sure.
Very good.
I have watched several of your "Body Swing" videos now (10-15). In this video, you mention standing taller. In adopting the "Body Swing" mechanics, can a golfer still use standard club lengths (irons) ? Or is it recommended to have longer shaft lengths? ...club head lie changes? Thanks..
Thanks!
You're welcome. Thank you for your support. I appreciate it.
Very interesting video. I'm 6'6" tall. Having back issues after playing. How can a tall person like me apply this to my swing? Thanks!
Watch this:
th-cam.com/video/x5K9S9vZiN0/w-d-xo.html
I have taught countless taller people with my tallest being 7 feet. I stand them up and get them swinging around. Way easier and never hurts the body. Give it a try. Keep in mind that the flaw would be hitting thin and topped shots for a few minutes because you are not used to being taller as you swing.
What about with shorter irons 8 and down thanks for all the tips
Stand tall with shorter clubs. I tell people to do this all of the time. Watch this one and you will understand why:
th-cam.com/video/m9kj0548rYw/w-d-xo.html
Look at the comments below the tip and see how many hundreds of shankers I have fixed.
Around and around implies your right shoulder goes out causing an over the top swing. It did for me, anyway.
Yeah that would be around and down not around and around. If you lean left you will swing left. So lean right as you come down. Just do swings up in the air. There is no way you would swing around then down. You would go around and around 100% of the time. So get the feeling then slowly do it lower.
Do you have any videos on club grip specifics?
I do not. This would be for a club fitter. Sorry, I do have this tip:
th-cam.com/video/0hlvKiSZo-k/w-d-xo.html
Hi Paul, somebody recently told me that I hold my hands and the club handle too low. Is there a point of reference for where the golf club handle should point such as your gully button or bell buckle? Thanks.
Yes, just check the toe/heel position when the club is behind the ball. You want to toe just slightly higher than the heel. If the toe is way up your hands are too low. If you are of average height (I am 5'10") the but will point pretty much at the belt buckle.
Great! Thank you@@paulwilsongolf
I hit the ball way better standing taller and my lower back hurts less, but I still wonder why there are great players who do not stand tall, like Keegan Bradley for instance.
Keegan does bend over a lot that's for sure. The tallest right now is scheffler. Maybe they should all stand taller.
Will this work for irons?? What do you recommend for that?
I like that for sure. This tilted swing is tricky. I find it hurts my back so keeping the belt line more level is great for a pain free swing.
Are your hands are fully cupped when you address the golf ball??
Not sure what that means. I am doing my neutral grip. You can follow it here: th-cam.com/video/jQZLp8bF-Ww/w-d-xo.html
Eureka I found my big swing fault
Very good. Too many people all bent over. This is a back breaker. Just don't be too tall.
Agreed 1000%. This is amazing
I've played with some hunch backs and they struggle to break 105, no joke. It sucks we usually have to play the whites due to their lack of power.
Yeah not fun. Not sure why you aren't just playing the tees you want. That's what I do. No way I'm playing the whites.
More of an old school posture, way more practical for the average golfer.
I agree, even chipping , i am better if stand taller, try pitching stand taller , never fail
For sure. The new flavor of the week is this bent over the swing. News flash. That swing is not dominating the tour. Who is the best striker? Scheffler. See how upright and tall he is. Maybe there is a correlation there ... hmmm.
irons would be 2 short ??
Don't be that tall. I said that in the tip.
Put some tracers on your videos. Tks
We do if the shot is important enough to put it on. You do realize it takes time to put the tracer on? Before they came out with their new software it would easily take an hour per line.
