Paul, i’ve never met you, I’ve never taken a personal lesson from you, but everything you have provided online that I have followed over the years has made such a tremendous difference and really helped me develop so much enjoyment in this game. Thanks for all you do on here and know you’re making significant differences whether you know it or not!
So glad you are improving. That's what it's all about. So many people struggling out there. Anyone can do this if they just have a little understanding and do daily practice (practice swings) working on a few moves. Keep up the good work.
The body swing program has helped me tremendously, thank you... In this tip I was hoping you would demonstrate how to get the hook going down the middle swing by swing until it wound up perfect.... I have a two-way miss and I am almost positive it's the timing
So glad it's helping. Thank you for your support. I truly appreciate it. Well I did say what to look for. First is a huge hook. You add some body and it is less of a hook and so on until it's dead straight. If you blow it right that's too much body so you would slow down. If you hit 2 in a row right I would go back to rolling and hooking. So roll and hook until you rarely ever hit shots with slice spin. Literally do the roll over drills at home daily. This shouldn't even take you a week to master. I have had people 4 repetitions. So a week would be a lifetime of rolling. See this as mastering step 1. Then you start adding body (while still feeling it release) for step 2. Watch the ball. It will tell you exactly how hard to fire the body. It doesn't get easier than that.
Been working on your method for only about a week. Was on range yesterday and a guy came over to me and said he could not believe the sound my driver was making at impact. How cool is that!
I totally have this problem and didn't realize it! I thought it was something else! You have literally taught me everything about a golf swing, and in turn, I teach my 10yo son. You Impact so many golfers and probably don't realize it! Thank you for everything you do!
Glad I could help! Kids get it so fast. Keep on teaching him so he has it for life. Well, I do get a lot of people coming up to me on the range thanking me so I guess word is getting out. Just need to keep doing what I do. So many more people to help.
OMG. The golf gods directed me here again. I had a discouraging morning at the range and everything I just watched on this vid was exactly what was happening word for word. I even invented new 4 letter words. I will start over with just the hooks and then try to feather the body turn into it. Thanks again for this.
So glad you found this one. Get the first half then get the second. Get the first half and you know where the ball is going to go before you hit it. Good info to have. Once mastered you focus on the other. You've got this.
Paul, I honestly think you’re the main reason I continue to play. I can’t empathize how much impact your drills have done on my game. I use to muscle the ball, without the hip pivot you teach, and I’d fall off balance with regularity. My previous furthest drive was 265 yards. Today I got a 330 yard drive. I doubt I’ll do it ever again, but having done it once I’m just super happy. People in my grouping were in awe.
Wow! That's huge. You are on your way. Into the future don't try to keep doing it otherwise you will start hitting hard with the arms. Just let it happen. If you did it once you can do it again. Great job!
loose wrists and full coil works for me, but I am pushing my drives and need to work on timing so this is much appreciated ..As always, Tx Paul, you are the best golf instructor- teacher I've run across,
Very good. The push is telling you that your body is working great. Just firing too hard. Hook 10 in a row by manually rolling it from the top then go back to body. If so, you will hit it dead straight. This is all of 5 mins.
Haha! This was me 100%. A little success, then got fast and started pushing and gave up. Spent the bulk of the season hopping from random tip to random tip and now I’m back again. Just pulled out my body swing videos to research myself. Thank you, Paul, for always being there! 😁
Glad you're back. Could have fixed you in under 5 mins. This is the tip for you. Hear what I am saying in it. Spin and direction. Fix the spin then get the direction. It is that simple. As for The Body Swing I can literally make anyone look like a tour pro in 4 moves plus your grip and set up. Who else is going to say that? No one. I should literally have a line up down the street. Just got to do them. That seems to be the hard part. People just want to smash golf balls as hard as they can. Take away the balls for a month or two and do daily practice swings hitting the positions I teach. You can still play and work on your short game. Then add more balls later once you get it. I wanted to prove my theory of not hitting balls. Took a guy from 95 to 75 in 2 months he never hit one ball. So be focused and you've got it. Use this tip to tweak it. Done.
@@paulwilsongolf The funny thing is the last time I was committed to the body swing I got tons of compliments on how my swing looked. I just couldn't stop it slicing so I gave up. I wish I hadn't, but glad to be back now. I'm going to go back to the beginning of the course and refresh everything, but I just went outside with a few whiffle balls and an 8 iron and watched my ball flight. Concentrated on making them hook and then sped up my hips and it straightened them right out! I literally said "Paul's a genius" out loud after I hit the first one straight! :) Thank you for keeping things simple while also helping me to figure out how to self-correct by watching the ball.
@@paulwilsongolf Thanks, Paul. Funny thing is when I last committed to the body swing I got tons of compliments on my swing. Just couldn't keep it from slicing so I gave up. Wish I hadn't, but glad to be back! I'm going to go back through the Body Swing video series from the beginning, but I grabbed a few whiffle balls and an 8 iron and went out in the yard and focused on getting them to hook (spin) and then started firing the hips (direction) and it straightened them back out! You're truly a genius in the way you can make this stuff seem so simple and so easy to understand. Thanks again!
Glad you're back. As for the slice this is in section 10 Fix Your Own Swing. Need to master the 2 drills to fix most flaws. Do drill 1 first then drill 2. Watch me do it in 6 mins. here: th-cam.com/video/q5RojTx5sHI/w-d-xo.html You've got this.
@@paulwilsongolf Thank you, Paul! Took some time to rewatch the grip and setup and then the 2 drill fixes. Looking forward to taking this to the course tomorrow!
Thanks for directing my to this video. Makes total sense, as I've experienced a good share of push fades and it's exactly as you described: fast hip rotation and quiet arms. I'll take this lesson the range and see if I can get both body and release in sync.
WOW! Paul you continue to amaze me with your simple teaching! In my journey with your tips, and totally changing to the effortless swing, I realized I wasn’t firing my hips correctly because my right heel barely came off the ground in my finish, so I concentrated on the belt buckle facing the target as well as “feeling the heel “ and consequently Ive hitting pushes and push fades(but not all the time, mainly with driver and 3 wood) and I couldn’t figure it out. This tip explains it! Thanks, gotta go, I’ve got more to work on😉
So glad you liked the tips. I appreciate it. Glad you see the issue. I am firing quick and hard with the lower body. I know it doesn't look like it but I am. For the average person this takes work. Glad you see it now make sure you are doing daily practice swings until mastered.
Another great tip! I went through exactly what you said about low hooks, high hooks, and bad fades and then I slowed it all down and there you go-success! Longer and straighter! This all within a bucket of balls! Man, this is so much better than beating the balls with my clubs!
Paul you have great straight forward simply methods in order to complete the various aspects on the golf swing i watch you regularly thank you for your time and expertise
Paul, this is the best video I have ever seen. I am slowly making the transition to the body from my hands after a year of golf after following your videos. Now I am hooking now where my arms my faster, as exactly what you have illustrated. Now I have to adjust my body to time it perfectly for my shots to match my arm speed. You are awesome ! I have never met you but wish I could meet you one day. Greetings from Singapore.
I went and played a round and had this exact problem. A few of my drives I hit correctly and went a good distance. Even the ones I was pushing went far. It was frustrating to say the least. This video was for me. Hope to get my timing down and quit hitting hot chip shots across the green. Thanks Paul for your videos. They are big help .
Glad you found this one. It's so simple to get it back. Literally within minutes. Just need to see it and know what to work on. Remember this one for the future.
Paul - Thanks for the instruction. I have learned a lot about the golf swing watching your videos. As a senior golfer, I have lost some distance over the years and following your body swing plan has gained me 10 yards within the past month and my ball striking has improved dramatically. my handicap has dropped 3 strokes as well. When folks in my league have made comments about my new success I have pointed them in your direction. Great work! I'll keep doing my part to improve by looking for your latest tips and drills.
Very good. You are heading in the right direction. Just take a little understanding and work. Keep at it and you will get even more. Thanks so much for your promo to others. I need all the help I can get spreading the word. So many people need help.
hi Paul, Just so you know i have been playing golf on and off for many years i am 65 and have never really improved beyond lets say (week end Warrior) over the last 12 months i have really got back into golf, after watching maybe 5000 golf videos and making a list of tips to take to the course each week with maybe 5% making a difference. Just recently you made it onto my list of tips to try out , the tip was loose arms and wrists creating a whip and a release. OMG i thought my first attempt was a fluke, i then began to practice this more and improved my timing of the Kinetic chain and whip at impact to a balanced easy Finnish. My distance has gained 40 yards easy , my dispersion is better and i have less fatigue. After all these years i now have a golf swing settled in my head.
Glad you found me. I think you should only be following me from now on. We teachers all have different theories on the swing. I keep it simple and get results super fast (as you see). My goal is for people to do this on their own. Isn't that everyone's goal? Great results so far. Keep at it.
I’m seeing the fruits of my labour now Paul, I’ve broke 100 3 times out of 4 now, my handicap has come down from 28 to 26 and I’ve parred the last 4 par 5’s I’ve played.. now a lot of my drops are from over hitting straight drives and going over the back of greens so I’m having to constantly raise my distance for each club, I even reached a par 5 green in two last week. Thanks for your tips they really work.
Very good. It's exciting to break 100. Now you see you are on your way. Just make it simple. Keep doing daily practice swings working on the positions and movements and you should be breaking 90 in no time.
I just started watching you 3 weeks ago. Stared with the slow swing video. Watched several others. I am not playing a lot of golf due to hectic work travel schedule. I’m currently carrying a 14 handicap. We has our club championship this past weekend and I hadn’t picked up a stick in 5 weeks,. Only watched your videos. Went into tournament committed to sticking to the slow easy swing tips (along with a few others but didn’t want too many new concepts in my head. First 9 holes i grinder a 46. 2nd nine, a 37. Second day I shot an 81. I ended up 2nd in the low net out of a field of 100. It was not a fluke. Thank you.
Wow! Now that's a great story. Please keep working on it. As for travelling you need to get a collapsable club and take it with you. Just do practice swings in the hotel room. It's so much harder if you take a break so for the sake of regular practice swings you can't go even lower and keep the feel. Next year we go for winning the tourney.
I have been pushing my long irons and driver ever since picking up your body swing. I watched this video and just hit the range. I've never hit my driver longer and straighter. I even have a small draw now. Thank you so much!!!
I’ve been working with the body swing for the past 3 years. As a person who did the digital tutorials and also the short game tips, I can assure you that this program works wonders. 3 years ago I played a round and shot somewhere in the 120s and had to buy a box of balls on the turn. It was enough. The past year, I have broken 85, hit a hole in one, hit my first eagle and am more consistent than ever. For the past 2 months though, I started to notice that I was coming over the top a bit. You can tell when the ball goes 150 yards forward and 2 holes to the right. I felt like I was doing everything. I was rotating, followed the backswing tips, hinged at the top, used a downswing trigger by turning my buckle, but I kept slicing every club and even topping them. This tip of rolling over was one that I kept just breezing over and tried everything else besides this. I came back to it out of frustration at the range, because nothing else was working. After doing the 10 hooks, I added back my legs and my shots had power and contact was flush. It even helped my pitching and low punch shots, which is a bonus. These tips are awesome and I couldn’t thank Paul enough for sharing his knowledge. Just remember that a swing doesn’t transform over night! Keep practicing and have fun!
I have to add to this post. I've been using Paul's method for a few years now. I to, started hitting push fades. I also glossed over the tip of releasing the wrists from the top. Always feared it would activate my old ott arm swing that I used for 30 years. I guess we underestimate our brain's ability to understand task. I thought this would never work. I reluctantly tried it. It really does work!!!
Paul- I have gone back and forth with you on many topics for help. I am a leftie who has a mean push/push fade off the tee 😩. While watching this tip today and when you said if this is happening then your doing it right. It was my “Light came on moment”. I happily admit that I watch my Body Swing videos more than I watch TV. You are excellent and have helped so many of us enjoy golf again. Need tapes on the short game and game management. Thanks as always. Leon Calgary 🇨🇦
Yes, people need to see the shot differently. They are always dwelling on the negative. I see the positive. A push would be the right path but the face is square to the path not slightly closed. So all you would have to do is work on the release and you would have a perfect draw. So you need to do daily roll over drills to master it. Maybe strengthen the grip just a little. I like lefties drawing it so anything that gets the face 1-2 degrees closed to the path is great for you. So the have the 2 lines of your grip pointing at your left shoulder. Then roll constantly until you get the ball falling right with draw spin. Did you see this one: th-cam.com/video/mp8MriLZ4sg/w-d-xo.html
Gotta try this tomorrow. This is exactly what i am doing, speeding up the hips and legs and pushing it to the right. Need to work on my release. Thanks for opening my eyes.
For sure. This is exactly why I did this tip. Over the years when people find me and jump right in they may hear about turning off the arms and firing the lower body to power the swing. Problem is they fire the legs at top speed and hit push/push fades. This tip explains what to do to hit it dead straight. Stay focused. If you have the ability to fire your legs hard then you are halfway there. Get the wrists working and you will hit it better than you ever imagined with no effort.
This has definitely been my issue with the body swing. I've always liked the idea of being loose and swinging through but mostly push and push fade the ball so I never stick with it. Can't wait to try this. Thanks Paul
This is why I did the tip. Everyone always wants to do everything at 100%. Just follow this tip and you will be hitting it dead straight in minutes. Get half then get the other.
This is EXACTLY what I needed. I had given the body swing a try before. I hit great iron and wedge shots but nothing but a big push/push slice with my driver. It was maddening because if you can't get off the tee, it doesn't matter how well you hit your irons. I was working the wrong end of the equation. Since I was keeping my hand/body off, I was just moving my body faster without letting my hands release earlier.
Great video and instructions as always Paul , I want to give you an update on my game my first second and third shots have all been much straighter as I played 9 yesterday and Wednesday now my scores were 49 &51 but all my issues were chipping and putting which I will with the aid of all those videos of yours start working on but I am seeing progress and I now can feel wether my swing is right or over the top Thanks for all your help very much appreciated
Paul, I recently started following you and this video is genius. So simple and explains so much. I will be booking some one on one time with you in a few months when I can make it out to vegas. I applaud the work you are doing here on TH-cam
Glad you liked it. This is a huge tip for sure. I am back on in October but really starting to get booked up so when you know let me know so I can save you a spot. Thanks for the support.
Thanks so much. I just see it differently and have been putting it in simple terms going on 33 years now. If you don't get it ... why would you do it? Understanding it is half the battle. Keep at it.
I tried this timing tip on the range yesterday. Hit 10 hooks in a row - an achievement in itself for a habitual slicer. Then started firing my hips and was hitting rockets straight down the middle!
Very good. So glad you saw the effect. Stay focused. Next time out do the same routine starting with the hooks. Keep doing it this way until you are used to it.
Very good. You need to fully commit. I have literally been teaching this stuff since 1991 and get amazing results. It does take a little understand and work but you kind of get that. Now stick with it and do daily practice swings. In no time you will be hitting it better than ever.
Hi Paul - I am continuing to make progress in my body swing. I have now been doing 100 swings per day for about 3 weeks (I do take one day off for rest during the week). Today I really slowed it down and focused on the positions and touch points. In literally every swing, good or bad, I learn something for the next swing. I can hear your voice in my head giving me instructions on how to correct anything I feel I did improperly on a given swing. As many have said before, thank you for showing me how to get a great swing using your simple teaching methods! By the way, at the end of my practice sessions, I now feel nothing in my arms and only some pulsating in my left hip.
I think I replied to this already. It's great when I hear someone doing the daily practice swings. This stuff takes a little work. Too many people wait until they go to the course. Unfortunately, once a week is never going to get you there. Keep at it. You are on your way.
Paul your videos are straight forward, I enjoy watching and returning to them like a manual for golf itself. My question for this particular video lesson is - how do we adjust our release ( before or after our hips) if we are not supposed to feel the arms? .. what does release feel like? I mean , I know we know when it happens, but how do you actually cue yourself to feel release without using the arms or wrists to search for a release point? I hope this question makes sense.
You are manually rolling the wrists until you rarely ever hit the ball with any slice spin. At this point you have mastered the release so you know what it feels like. Once you can do that you switch to powering it with the body. You also feel the release through impact. So you are thinking body and feeling release. Your last step if turning the arms off completely. You are trying to turn them off before you have mastered the pieces. If it were me I would be rolling the wrists daily until mastered. I would be doing this at the range and home. This would take me all of a few days as I would be doing this thousands of times. Now I have half of the swing. Then I would be switching to body. th-cam.com/video/5_O0H2QNFo0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/Xk7t9yHCO-I/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/7olBqwXF3Ik/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/6ZeTqcz2pmE/w-d-xo.html
I'm watching the Zozo Championship and this video at the same time. Lo and behold, what do I see? One of the pros tee it off and immediately point his club to the right and yell fore. I rewound it and watched his swing frame by frame. Sure enough, he got his hips fired off way before the club face turned over. Paul preaching the gospel.
Really need to work on my driver timing, this is a perfect thing to try next range session! You know, I've been golfing for 2 months now and scored a 95 on a par 72 last weekend- beating my buddies who have been golfing for over a year. Its all thanks to your videos getting me to hinge the wrists, thank you Paul!
Wow, that's great progress so far. Glad to hear it. Yes, driver is tricky for most people. Just keep rolling it and hooking it. No slice spin. At this point you are switching to body to straighten it out. So you had basically masted half of the swing (arm unit). Then it is all about body. Driver is longer so it is harder. Watch your buddies. They will be slicing it for years. I will get you hitting it straight in no time. This first. Just do it at home in practice swings if you can't get to the range: th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html Then add body. Here's the easiest most popular trigger: th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html
@@paulwilsongolf I try not to watch them it's rough and nobody wants to take advice from the 'noobie' shooting lower than them haha. Went out today on a difficult slope 137 course and struggled to keep the driver from slicing, couldn't figure out why so I tee'd off with the 5 wood to keep it in play. Ended up with a 105 which is meh, wanted to stay under 100. Will study these videos you linked and go from there. I want to get my first lesson from a pro but concerned they'll be telling me techniques that conflict with your teachings, and I KNOW your method works. Anyways, thanks Paul. Loving the game!
Right now there are going to be ups and downs. Just keep watching for good shots or shots that you are trying to hit (example: hooks). Then in your mind chart how many you are getting. Over time you will get more and more good shots and at some point the majority will be good. This will tell you how you are progressing over time. As far as lesson follow one person. Whether it's me or not you need to stick to one thing. We teachers have different theories on the swing. There are a lot of similarities to what we say but we all have different ways of putting it together. I have taught the same things for 32 years now. As you know I like to keep it simple. If you follow me into the future it's starts with grip and set up. Then master the arm unit. After that it's body coiling and uncoiling. Final step it to completely turn your arms off so you are not hitting at the ball. Do tons of practice swings at home with no ball. This is the fastest way to get it.
@@paulwilsongolf I'll be sticking with your videos and methods, the movements in your method just feel proper to me. Hitting a shot square while getting that wrist hinge properly is just suuuuper satisfying and effortless. After studying the videos you linked and doing a bunch of dry swings in the garage, I spent a few hours purposefully hooking shots at the range, working on firing the body (timing of it), and feeling the snap/whip of my wrist hinge. Got some draw spin going for once and slice spin with my irons/hybrids is close to zero, only a touch of fade at the very end of my straight shots. Moved on to doing the same thing with the driver (hooking shots on purpose for hours) and cant seem to get much draw spin going but it's reduced the amount of slice/fade spin on my normal driver shots to a level that I can consistently anticipate the general area where it's going to end up which I am super happy about. Playing Carlton oaks this weekend - a Perry Dye (pete's son) designed course that used to host PGA qualifiers. Tough long course I am told but now after putting in the effort to do these drills and practice your teachings, I am feeling confident about my chances to keep the score under 100. Next Vegas trip sometime this year I will be sure to book a lesson at your school and a round at Bears best!
Glad you are seeing improvement. For the longer clubs just swing at half speed. Half speed gives you double the time. So you hit the top and start rolling right away. Longer clubs with rolling and you may deloft them. This is okay because you are not trying to hit perfect shots. You are trying to roll it. Master that then switch to body to straighten it out. Also do this drill daily: th-cam.com/video/7olBqwXF3Ik/w-d-xo.html
Another great video. This also explains those occasional push shots i hit. Would also explain a hook. Although those are extremely rare for me. But knowing what causes both will make it easier to correct.
Thanks. This is a such a huge tip. Too many people guessing and working on the wrong things to try and fix their swings (tour players included). Just got to make it simple but work on the right things. Try to remember this one into the future.
Excellent analysis....2 things can be judged &corrected by watching ball flight....ball being pushed=failure to release wrists....holding on!..... ...ball being hooked=failure to continue your hip turn.......both timing issues...but...knowing both ball flights can help one do self correction on course......a nice bonus!
Pushed = coming out of it too from swinging too hard/sliding too much laterally. Hooking = hitting with arms Sever Hook = hitting with arms and grip way too strong. The ball is the teacher.
I was at the range today and it was so obvious when I’d got that timing right I was carrying 180 with my 7 and then getting the timing wrong and it was going right to 130. So this video was perfect timing for me, thanks Paul 👍🏻
Very good. So you need to keep doing the roll until mastered. How do you know when it's mastered? You rarely ever put slice spin on it. At this point you know you are going to release it no matter what you are thinking about. So you switch to legs and hips. You fire them and watch your ball. [Pull/Pull hook = more legs. Push/Push Fade = less legs or loose the wrists again. Dead straight = memorize and repeat this forever.
6:56 as usual, great video Paul. Im on board and hitting the ball the best of my golf life. Granted, it takes effort and some brain power to eliminate years of bad habits.
Glad you liked it. Thanks. Glad you are doing well. Yes, you need to understand it and know exactly what you are doing as well as the feelings associated with it. Once you get it though, you will never want to go back. Keep up the good work.
Something you said in your last video suddenly resonated with me. Hips at least 45 degrees open at impact. You’ve said it 1,000 times but I suddenly heard it. What a difference just having that thought. Synched up my timing too. When I push or push fade it’s too much tilt as you said in another video. I fix that and the ball straightens out.
Funny how people bash me telling me my tips are too long. I repeat myself too much etc. This is why. I know people don't hear me. They need to keep watching and one day (like you had) it sinks in. Now you know what to do it's about repeating it over and over until you just do it. You are now on you way. Be things to come for you in the future.
@@paulwilsongolf I appreciate the repetition. Your message has never changed and I love that. I am striking the ball better than ever and it keeps getting even better. Keep repeating sir.
Always loved your videos, they helped me so much. I just did some tests on trackman. If I hit my 8 iron "normal" my swing speed is around 77 mph. If I take a "long pause" and delay the transition at the top as long as I can, the humble 8 iron swings comfortably at 90mph, occasionally up to 93 and I am more accurate. I play with one arm only, I wonder what is going on, it's like there is some crazy "alignment" going on during that pause that I seem to need, that just skyrockets my accuracy and speed by an insane amount. Everything feels so much more effortless yet more powerful and timed after the pause.
Well that gives you time to get your body moving. Up and down too fast and you have not time to switch. Plus, hesitating take the tightness and hit impulse out too. Keep doing it but don't make the pause too long. Just long enough to get the lower moving. Watch: th-cam.com/video/YMj0fgJe48M/w-d-xo.html
I think I've gotten most of the golf swing correct but I'm still not hitting it straight but I haven't worked on timing so hopefully this will sort it out I'll try it on the range next week thanks Paul
Just get every ball hooking. Once you can do that the release is working. At this point you switch to thinking about starting your body first. So you hit the top and fire the lower. As you are approaching impact you FEEL the release you have just be working on. Can't think of 2 things at once. So think legs and hips and feel the release. Watch your ball. It will tell you if you are doing it or not.
If you fire them too hard ... yes pushes so you slow down. Watch the ball and it will tell you what to do. If you are on track and start blow it right immediately start hooking it then start adding body again until you hit it straight. Memorize how much legs and hips it takes you to hit it straight.
@@paulwilsongolf I went to the range and tried it but I could only hit pulls about 10 yards from the straight target line, what do I do I tried to fire the hips harder
Excellent exercise Paul. I have paid for and enjoyed the body swing technique and this tip helps to make sense of the hooking tendency I have. I never really rotated my forearms before starting using the body swing so it has taken a little while to co ordinate both elements correctly. Now if I could only chip!
Thanks for the support. I truly appreciate it. The hook is super easy to fix. You fire the lower first and the hook will straight and potentially turn into a draw. If you still hook too much you need to neutralize your grip. Chipping is easy. It's a stroke like putting. If you can putt you can chip: Chipping is easy. It's a stroke like putting. Ball back instep. Hands forward. 3-4 knuckle grip. Weight forward. Stroke it like a putt.
Your tips are always great! Love them all! Sequencing is critical in the golf swing. Tempo and sequence are the feels I work on the most. I’ll be in Las Vegas in December and hope to get out to Bears Best!
Well, it's super simple. This is where everyone goes wrong. They keep trying to hit perfect shots all the time. Why not get half (spin) then work on direction (body). Think that way and you can get it in minutes.
Hello Paul, if I'm thinking correctly. This should also help with blocking the ball straight right as well, yes? That's what has been happening with me, now. Yes I will hit what you call a power fade to the right a lot also.
Those Golf Pride white grips are the best controlled grips ever made. Good thing I return to them when I bought my 22' cobra Tec irons. Should have never stop using them in the first place.
So if I understand this correctly, your advice is to use our shoulders to initiate the swing when we are focused on "Step 1" (the unhinging/wrist turnover) stage (keeping our lower body out of the picture, or at least not dominating the swing)? And then after hitting about 10 shoulder-initiated swings that result in hook spin, incorporate the lower body as the primary driver/source of power and modulate it to "time" the unhinging/wrist turnover in such as way that the combination results in straight shots (or shots in the direction and shape for whatever the situation calls)?
Paul, Very helpful but where does all your club head speed come from swinging so effortlessly. What is your top clubhead speed? You're the best. Thanks!
You get the speed through having looser wrists. This arm unit is then attached to your body which is rotating. Turn faster ... hit it longer. In no way are you hitting with arms. This tightens the wrists. The other week I was at 117mph but I was really moving my body hard. Normally I want to be around 110mph. I will be able to hit it 280 on the fly for a long time. Watch this one: th-cam.com/video/O9jr3G1FF6M/w-d-xo.html This is the difference between what I teach versus the hard/fast swing younger players are doing. I am trying to build a swig for life. Be interesting to see how they hit it when they are older. Right now I am 56 and not losing distance.
Super, Paul - except I would think that ideally you would want as full a hip turn as possible and then speed up the arm/hand release to catch up, as opposed to reducing the power in the hip turn to accommodate a slower release - do you agree, Paul? (And what about the ‘knuckles down’ move to impact - is that needed?) Thanks!
Yes, I want the hips firing very quick/hard. If the person blow it right I know they can actually fire the hips. So now I would switch to the release to get them hooking it. Once they hook 5-10 in a row I would then go back to fire the lower and BOOM dead straight in all of 5 mins. Forget knuckles down. This is crap that the average person will never do. This is an arms thought. Keep in mind a tick on a clock is 6 degrees. You try an purposely do knuckles down and you will hit it everywhere and anywhere because there is no way you are going to repeating this exactly the same every time. I get this and I have never worked on it ... ever. So work on the fundamentals and look like a pro as you swing. If so, you will do it too without thinking about it.
Paul, great tips and I’m trying to adopt a new swing to accommodate an aging back. I continue to play several local club tournaments and I play around a 7 handicap. The issue I’m having with the body swing is having it perform under pressure. It seems to be a great “Range” swing, and performs well under the normal pressures of tournament play - but I seem to lose my timing when under pressure. I understand tension is a swing killer, much easier said than done when someone says “just stay loose”. Tips to make the body swing perform outside the Range would be greatly appreciated.
Glad you are working on it. For most people when they go to the course they start hitting. You need to try swinging at 50% on every swing. Your 50% is probably 70-80%. Once you get that pace in your mind the other thought is ... repeat. Keep in mind when you play there are different thoughts, pressure, excitement etc. It is really easy to think distance out there. So don't pick distance targets meaning pick something super close or way in the distance as your target not something at 250 let's say. You do a few 50% practice swings thinking of this pace. Then you apply this pace to your shot. I would be reminding myself that I am not Tiger Woods. I need to swing at a level I can swing at. To get it super consistent (once your hinge/rehinge is working and you are not putting slice spin on the ball) you are focused on the center (body) coiling and uncoiling. This is way less movement versus what your arms are doing so it's very repeatable. This is the tip I need you thinking about: th-cam.com/video/W8nv99yLMH8/w-d-xo.html You coil allow it to move your arms into position. You uncoil allowing your arms to follow. In no way are you hitting or helping the shot. If you do not hit or help you don't twist the face. I am literally feeling that as I swing and just allowing it to swing wherever it wants. Think about what I just outlined. Take notes. You do that and you will play incredibly well on the course.
If you are slicing it the face is open so roll it from the top and hook about 10 in a row. Once you can do that you are releasing the club (spin). Then you move to body to straighten it out (direction). That is all in this tip. Fix half (spin) the fix the other half (direction).
Paul, can you please make a video on how to rotate the hips when hitting a ball from different lies (above the feet, below the feet). I find it difficult to rotate during these situations. Thank you.
Hey Paul, one thing I wasn’t 100% sure on with this move. From the top ….Am I starting the release in my downswing first and then adding hip rotation or am I firing the hips first ? Thank you! Keep up the good work.
You are going to think hands and arms and roll them from the top until you hook about 10 in a row. Once you can do that remember the feeling but you are switching to the legs and hips. You watch your ball. Pull/pull hook = quicker legs and hips. Push/push fade = less legs and hips. Straight = memorize and keep doing this forever. So after you can hook it yes you are firing your legs and hips ... fast.
I checked out your video series, loved it. Just having a problem with almost letting go at the top of the backswing. Hard to have loose wrists and a firm grip. Any tips on this?
Paul, I understand your method. You make it very simple. However, particularly under pressure, my hands will lead the downswing. One thought please to sequence correctly every time?? Peter.
I just answered this for someone else today. Here is what I told him: Glad you are working on it. For most people when they go to the course they start hitting. You are going to thank god you are doing half right instead of nothing right. The half you have right is the release and spin on the ball. Now that you are doing that you switch to firing your body first in the downswing. If so, you will hit it dead straight. The last chapter and videos of The Body Swing is How To Fix Your Own Swing. There you will find Duck/Snap hook. Just watch the 2 drills to fix any flaws first then watch that video on how to fix it.
Nice video Paul as always. When do you feel the release/uncocking of your wrists in YOUR swing? At the top, hip high, right before the ball? Yours, Simeon
I do not feel them at all because I have done this for a long time. For the average person it depends what stage they are at in learning what I teach. If you are putting slice spin on your shots you roll it from the top getting every ball to hook (roll over drill). Once you can do this you swing to body rotation to straighten it out. If you are working on body you are not rolling from the top. Instead you are allowing it to release closer to impact. Stages ... see what I am getting at? Get step 1 then move to step 2.
Hey Paul, working on your tips and seeing improvement. I'm 72 and am noticing that my hips are starting to become sore. My hing and unhing is good and I am getting the hips out of the way. What tip (other than stretching) can an old guy follow to use the full body swing but reduce hip fatigue? Thanks.
Anytime I have had anyone complain of hip pain it is when they finally start turning all the way through into the follow through with the hips perpendicular to the line. Once they have done it a little this goes away. Anyone else is from driving them too hard. You need to build this up over tip. People always want to swing at 100%. Build it up and get used to it. I would be doing this in daily practice swings at home. Also, check your left foot make sure it's turned out so you can turn through easier.
Exactly what is happening. However when I try to do the early release I always feel like I start using my arms when I’m trying to release it higher up/earlier. How do you release the club early without using your arms?
You need to use your arms to train it to roll. It's going to happen on it's own. I have had people literally master this in 4 repetitions. So you roll and roll until you eliminate all slice spin. Do the drills below daily in practice swings or at the range. Daily not once a week. th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html Once you can do that you are switching to legs and hips still feeling the release happening. As you get good at it you completely turn your arms off by not hitting or helping the shot.
Hi Paul, your tips are awsome and I have been following them to get lower body to swing. Does this early release tip applies to long woods, hybrids and iron as well?
Glad you like them. I appreciate the support. You are rolling it with every club until you get rid of any slice spin. This is with all clubs but keep in mind it is easier with shorter clubs plus once you get under and 8 iron you are not really going to get hook spin but instead you will get pulls. I would suggest doing it with 7 iron then up to driver as soon as possible. th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html
Paul appreciate the video. Just curious on your thoughts for us 15 handicaps who are still learning this swing. I plan on playing for a year or so with "slower" lower body movement to keep my upperbody in sync. I am getting really good results with that and don't feel I need the extra distance at this time. My 6 iron is carrying ~185 which is more than enough to play the blues at my club. Anyway just wanted to check in and see what you thought about keeping it slow and controlled for a period of time before trying to ramp up lower body speed with early release.
Slower is fine. Make the swing perfect. As you do youbgain confidence. Confidence breeds distance so you will start hitting it longer by swinging easy. You'll see.
Paul - In my round yesterday I did incorporate the instruction you provided in this video. At 71 years old , trying to maintain / hold on to the distance I once had is challenging and fun. I can do it pretty good with the driver ( firing hips , rolling / releasing loose wrists ) , however when hitting 5-9 hybrids / irons I seem to come up a club short in distance - any advice for when you are hitting clubs other than drivers? I am a Body Swing purchaser.
I would take a look at this one: th-cam.com/video/x16qhEzeP0o/w-d-xo.html Maybe you were just a little steep with the shorter clubs. As you go to hit each club to 2-3 practice swings at knee high. Up there you can feel the legs and hips powering the swing. This is drill #2 in the Fix Your Own Swing section of TBS. So do this to get the feeling of the legs then step up and apply this feeling. Loose arms and wrists and you should get serious power.
I've done numberous drills from your chanel that have helped a great deal. There's one O make sure to go back to on at least a weekly basis on contact. It has helped change my game (I also have coach that deserves some credit). Beginning of this summer I was in the 60s for 9 holes. Yesterday, did my best 9 holes at 45! All that said, hips moving in front of my hands I have such a hard time with. I've tried those drill numerous times and I'm sure I just have some mental block or something. Any other suggestions for a tough case on this?
Wow, great drop in scores. You are on your way. Here is why you have trouble: th-cam.com/video/fuOJxv_22Hk/w-d-xo.html Do this drill until mastered. @@paulwilsongolf Wow! I ordered your course and in very little time positions (that I won't name here, people get the course) 1 and 2 I could got down pretty quick. Huge change! 3 and 4 are getting better but I'm not there yet. This drill you've mentioned here in the comments makes so much sense. Now I can look where my hips are at impact. Thanks! PS I'm doing much better on setup with you course but still working on that as well.
Thank you for your support. I truly appreciate it. The whole point of my products is to give people a great looking swing super fast. Get my positions and you will look like a pro as you swing. If you look like a pro you would have the right fundamentals. So I got it down to 4 positions plus your grip and set up. Small price to pay to dramatically change your swing. Please keep doing daily practice swings looking for the feedback. You are close so a little more work and you're there.
@@paulwilsongolf thanks. Hinge and correct hip turn. Then I'm gonna go back and work even harder on your set up system. I already can't see my toes. LOL I'm about to walk out in the yard and do 50 hinges and 50 belt buckle turns. Enjoy the weekend.
It's kinda eerie sometimes how video notifications pop up on my feed that are relating exactly to what problem I'm having. I think my leg muscles are becoming stronger and more athletic due to practicing golf all the time and my really physically demanding job(especially for my lower body). Ive been hitting push slices and I haven't done that in a really long time. It's very frustrating when you practice every day for that to be happening. I kept thinking that I know I can't be over the top of my plane because I shallow the club and I can literally see the blur approaching the ball exactly in the manner I want. I was trying another tip I saw where you kinda delay your hips from firing so your arms can catch up, but it feels awkward and I don't want to have to be thinking about slowing anything down in my full swing, so I'm going to give this a try today sometime.
I get this all the time. It's pretty funny. This tip is for you. No joke just follow this and you will be striping it in 5 mins. I have fixed thousands of you over the years.
Wow Paul that cool stuff… it a balance between arm rotation and body… it’s not a body only .. this my missing link… to the park I go hi ho hi ho…let you how this out man but it truly make sense… later man stay well
It is until you have trained your wrists to release the club rarely every putting slice spin on your shots. If you are not slicing it why would you be thinking of rolling it. You have it mastered. So at this point you are thinking body. Watch your ball and it will tell you exactly what to do.
As a former Collegiate Baseball player id compare my miss as a long foul ball down the left field line as a Righty hitter. Like turning on a fastball to fast, getting out front, pulling it far left, but felt great off the bat….haha
Right. The bat is releasing too early but you need to see the good in it. Everyone dwells on the negative. The good is the bat is release. You need more body to hit it to centerfield. Just like I said in this tip. You've got this. Just watch your ball. It will tell you exactly what to do.
For sure. I was going to do a tip on this (I may still do it) people are either not even close or actually super close to having a great move but don't realize it.
@@paulwilsongolf I find it very helpful to watch others on the driving range. I see the mistakes that you outline very easily in their swings. I feel like yelling to them. "You're about three Paul Wilson you tube videos from a near perfect swing" lol

@paulwilsongolf thank you so much. Just left the range and honestly it was amazing to actually feel hood about a hook. Just because I vert rarely did it. You are the best golf instructor I ever saw! Thank you for all you do!
This was a drill my coach got me doing when I struggled with my drive, hit three pull hooks and then hit it full gas with the body, worked every time. Great video.
Paul, what’s a good 4 week plan to work on your swing maintenance and keep sharp? One position a week at a range session then keep cycling thru to other positions?
Well, it's a forever plan. You always check your grip and set up. Then check the positions. You do this daily in practice swings at home. You can work on each position or all positions at the course too. You never want this falling apart once you get it.
Since watching your videos I've been trying to go from an upper body swing to using my hips and legs. I seem to be hitting the ball further but, I still struggle with pulling the ball. I don't hook it but miss the target left. I'm assuming I release too soon but I don't ever push or slice the ball. Do you have any suggestions or drills I can use to combat the pull? Maybe another video?

Hi Paul Golf Guru Wilson, Walked 9 yesterday to get mostly pull and push fades. I went out in my yard today (only have 80 yds to play with so, I use foam balls) and slowed way down to hit a good dozen pull hooks in a row using arms only. At first it wasn't working but then realized I need to start rotation sooner(about a foot before the tee). Then only added just a small bit of body and they went straight. I just get distance hungry and speed up the body but, they start going fade again. At this point, what should I be concentrating on?
Focus on rolling it and see the good in the shot not the bad. If you are hooking it the release is working. Need to add body. If you are pushing it you are firing too hard but at least the body is working. Need to slow down and work on the release. It's a balance. What you really need to do is master half (wrists). If you rarely hit it with any slice spin then you would only ever half to think about using your body (this is what I am doing). Watch your ball and it will tell you how much body you need. Then you memorize. If you hit it everywhere then you have to keep working on both things. Get down to a singular thought ... body.
For sure. You hit the top and roll the wrists. Get it hooking. This is half. Once you can do that you switch to body to straighten it out. Simple. th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html
Anytime someone mentions the squat I always ask myself if Nicklaus ever thought about squatting? That is your answer. You are not purposely squatting. This is a visual thing. If I turn (front view) the gap narrows. If I turn back to you it widens. Did I try to widen it? No.
Hi Paul, recently i've been the most consistent ever with irons due to a body swing approach and i'm hitting baby draws (misthit is low hook) with increased distance and minimal power. However, unless I purposely swing with my arms (killing my distance and height) it seems like the same swing that draws my irons, push fades the crap out of my driver / 3 wood (right then more right), is this video for me?
Glad you are doing well. The driver is longer. It takes longer to square. So you need to do the wrists release drills daily at the home and at the range until you can easily hook it. Once you can do this the hinge is loosen and working. At this point you are using body. Here are the drills: th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html So if you fire the lower too hard without training the release of course you will be blowing it right.
@@paulwilsongolf Thanks for taking the time to reply to all of us, I might not agree with every single video you post but I must say you are a cut above the rest.
No problem. Just trying to make people better. In the future let me know what you don't agree with and I will tell you "why" I am saying that or "why" you need to do it. Keep in mind I don't teach like other teachers. I say things in ways on purpose because I know what the average person can actually do given the amount of time they practice, age, physical ability etc.
Ditto to the above. Your instruction has made a world of difference in my golf game. Thanks again.
Hi Paul. Thank you very much for your great video's. My golf is free from pressure and tension in all golf departments.
Been working on your method for only about a week. Was on range yesterday and a guy came over to me and said he could not believe the sound my driver was making at impact. How cool is that!
That's great. Such a good feeling when you are hitting it well. Hope you told him about my tips.
This lesson makes a whole new world. It began to help me to fix my 10 years' swing issue! Paul is a top teacher and mentor, no doubt
Thanks so much. I appreciate it. Keep at it.
Thanks for your support. I appreciate it.
This one is huge. So glad you found it. Try to remember it into the future. We all lose it sometimes. This one will get you back in minutes.
Paul you have great straight forward simply methods in order to complete the various aspects on the golf swing i watch you regularly thank you for your time and expertise
Thanks for the support. Simple is the key. Need to understand it so you will actually do it. Make it complicated and you will never get it.
So many people need help.
hi Paul,
Just so you know i have been playing golf on and off for many years i am 65 and have never really improved beyond lets say (week end Warrior) over the last 12 months i have really got back into golf, after watching maybe 5000 golf videos and making a list of tips to take to the course each week with maybe 5% making a difference.
Very good. I wanted to get this tip out and finally got to it. This should help a ton of people. Keep at it.
Thank you so much for your support. I truly appreciate it. Glad you are doing well. Great to hear.
am a leftie who has a mean push/push fade off the tee 😩.
Did you see this one:
th-cam.com/video/mp8MriLZ4sg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you Paul, You have helped me out alot with my game!
Glad to help! That's what it's all about.
Yep, this what you firing way too hard. Easy to fix. 5 mins and you will be hitting it perfectly.
Thanks for the support.
..stop it ! ... I feel like I just learned rocket science in just under 8 minutes !😄
Paul, you are an amazing teacher 👍thanks!
This was such a great explanation. Will be my next range sesh
Glad you see it. This is huge.
Paul, I have been using part of your tips for a couple of years, but today I’m totally onboard with what you teach
Keep at it. You are on your way.
nice. another good one. also, i love the environment, scenery and bird life on your home course. it's gorgeous.
Glad you liked it. Yes, the range out there is pretty awesome.

Exactly. Glad you saw it. That pro was swinging beyond 80%. Go close to 100% and the ball could literally go anywhere. 80% is the magic number.
Sir Paul…Always on point! Thank you again!
Thanks so much.
This first. Just do it at home in practice swings if you can't get to the range:

Also do this drill daily:
th-cam.com/video/7olBqwXF3Ik/w-d-xo.html
Another great video. This also explains those occasional push shots i hit. Would also explain a hook. Although those are extremely rare for me. But knowing what causes both will make it easier to correct.
Very good. It's giving you the info to fix it on your own. Isn't that the point? You need to do it without me. I have always thought like this.
That is amazing Paul. I have never thought of this aspect of the swing this way. I would love to come to Vegas just for a lesson from you.
Glad you liked it. Thanks. Let me know if you can make it town. I will be back on beginning of October.
Brilliant yet simple. You’ve helped me a huge amount Paul!
@@paulwilsongolf .....i love this stuff........"the ball is the teacher"!.....gonna etch that one in my mind!.....sublime!
Yeah, I can't take credit for it. One of my students thought of it. He is fine with me using it.
Truly enjoy watching this drill!!!
This is a huge tip.
Watch:
th-cam.com/video/YMj0fgJe48M/w-d-xo.html
Saving this video.. I'm in the hook pull category stage. Now to just add more hips.
For sure. Fix you in 2 seconds.
Great tip...next range session will try it...sometimes we forget to put it all together in sequence
Thanks. Give it a try for sure. Just remember to watch your ball.
Another great video Paul!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much.
@@paulwilsongolf so if you fire the hips does that create pushes to the right?
If you fire them too hard ... yes pushes so you slow down. Watch the ball and it will tell you what to do. If you are on track and start blow it right immediately start hooking it then start adding body again until you hit it straight. Memorize how much legs and hips it takes you to hit it straight.
@@paulwilsongolf I went to the range and tried it but I could only hit pulls about 10 yards from the straight target line, what do I do I tried to fire the hips harder

Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
If you can putt you can chip:
Chipping is easy. It's a stroke like putting. Ball back instep. Hands forward. 3-4 knuckle grip. Weight forward. Stroke it like a putt.
I much prefer this down the line view. Thanks Paul.
Some are down the line some are front on. Some are both. Depends what I am showing.
Amazing tip
Glad it was helpful!
Your tips are always great! Love them all! Sequencing is critical in the golf swing. Tempo and sequence are the feels I work on the most. I’ll be in Las Vegas in December and hope to get out to Bears Best!
Thanks. I appreciate it. Come and say hi when you are here. I will be on until about the 15th of Dec. I usually start at 10am.
@@paulwilsongolf excellent! I will stop in, you deserve a personal thank you for all you do!
Thank you so very much Doctor Wilson ! Got work to do ! Jm
Well, it's super simple. This is where everyone goes wrong. They keep trying to hit perfect shots all the time. Why not get half (spin) then work on direction (body). Think that way and you can get it in minutes.
Thanks Paul. Your the best!
You're welcome. I appreciate the support.
Hello Paul, if I'm thinking correctly. This should also help with blocking the ball straight right as well, yes?
That's what has been happening with me, now. Yes I will hit what you call a power fade to the right a lot also.
Yes, this will get you hitting it straight in 5 mins. So simple. Just need to see it so you know what to do to fix it. You've got this.
Those Golf Pride white grips are the best controlled grips ever made. Good thing I return to them when I bought my 22' cobra Tec irons. Should have never stop using them in the first place.
Yes, great grips. Last forever.
Watch this one: th-cam.com/video/O9jr3G1FF6M/w-d-xo.html
This is the difference between what I teach versus the hard/fast swing younger players are doing. I am trying to build a swig for life. Be interesting to see how they hit it when they are older. Right now I am 56 and not losing distance.
Once I got this the velocity improved and the sound of the strike is even better..
Very good. Just keep watching your ball. It will tell you what to do.
So good! Thanks Paul
Glad you liked it! Thanks
This is the tip I need you thinking about:
th-cam.com/video/W8nv99yLMH8/w-d-xo.html
You coil allow it to move your arms into position.
I recommended this to all my golf buddies.
Thanks so much for spreading the word. I need all the help I can get.

New to this great system. Have the driver hitting great. Working on irons and hitting fade /slices. Do I need more quicker hip turns
Thank you.

@@paulwilsongolf Thank you, Paul. Much appreciated.
In The Body Swing I show you this way to fix it:
th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html
Paul, I understand your method. You make it very simple. However, particularly under pressure, my hands will lead the downswing. One thought please to sequence correctly every time?? Peter.
I just answered this for someone else today. Here is what I told him:

Makes perfect since. I will be working on that today.
Very good. Bunch of amazing comments coming in now from people who tried it. Do it daily until mastered.
Hey Paul I’d like to hear your thoughts on if I’m hitting a snap hook while trying the body swing??
@@paulwilsongolf you the man Paul, thanks!
My guess is that Paul saying to start the roll earlier. But hopefully he answers.
You need to use your arms to train it to roll. It's going to happen on it's own. I have had people literally master this in 4 repetitions. So you roll and roll until you eliminate all slice spin. Do the drills below daily in practice swings or at the range. Daily not once a week.

Once you can do that you are switching to legs and hips still feeling the release happening.

I would take a look at this one: th-cam.com/video/x16qhEzeP0o/w-d-xo.html
Maybe you were just a little steep with the shorter clubs. As you go to hit each club to 2-3 practice swings at knee high. Up there you can feel the legs and hips powering the swing. This is drill #2 in the Fix Your Own Swing section of TBS. So do this to get the feeling of the legs then step up and apply this feeling. Loose arms and wrists and you should get serious power.
thanks Paul for your swift response - going out at 1:30 today and will do it
I've done numberous drills from your chanel that have helped a great deal.

3 and 4 are getting better but I'm not there yet. This drill you've mentioned here in the comments makes so much sense. Now I can look where my hips are at impact.
Thanks!
PS
I'm doing much better on setup with you course but still working on that as well.

I'm about to walk out in the yard and do 50 hinges and 50 belt buckle turns.
Love looking 4wood to trying it
Very good. Listen carefully to this one. I tell you exactly how to do it.
Do you have tips on hitting low punch shots. Say 4-6 irons around 80-100 yards from under trees?
Here you go:

As a former Collegiate Baseball player id compare my miss as a long foul ball down the left field line as a Righty hitter.
Like turning on a fastball to fast, getting out front, pulling it far left, but felt great off the bat….haha
Right. The bat is releasing too early but you need to see the good in it. Everyone dwells on the negative. The good is the bat is release. You need more body to hit it to centerfield. Just like I said in this tip. You've got this. Just watch your ball. It will tell you exactly what to do.
It's fun to go to the driving range and watch other golfers. I think boy Paul Wilson could help them
For sure. I was going to do a tip on this (I may still do it) people are either not even close or actually super close to having a great move but don't realize it.

This was a drill my coach got me doing when I struggled with my drive, hit three pull hooks and then hit it full gas with the body, worked every time.
Great video.
Good stuff. You are proof it works.
Hey Paul, I was curious what's your opinion on the towel underneath the arm for practicing your swing?
That would be okay for 3/4 swings. Once you go above that your back elbow would come away and into the through swing after 3/4 they both come away.

Get down to a singular thought ... body.
Paul would you say a wrist hinge is a roll?
For sure. You hit the top and roll the wrists. Get it hooking. This is half. Once you can do that you switch to body to straighten it out. Simple.

Is there a kind of squat who start the downswing and then fired with legs and hips?
Anytime someone mentions the squat I always ask myself if Nicklaus ever thought about squatting? That is your answer. You are not purposely squatting. This is a visual thing. If I turn (front view) the gap narrows. If I turn back to you it widens. Did I try to widen it? No.
@@paulwilsongolf thanks for your answer..i will practice with no swat in future ..have a good day
Hi Paul, recently i've been the most consistent ever with irons due to a body swing approach and i'm hitting baby draws (misthit is low hook) with increased distance and minimal power.
Here are the drills:
th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html
So if you fire the lower too hard without training the release of course you will be blowing it right.
