The greens deffo deserve a bigger platform, love novara 💚
Hey, it's you again! I remember us spamming "vote Green" on the Sky News live thing and triggering a TERF called Gav lol. The Greens definitely deserve a bigger platform that they're getting everywhere, but sadly the mainstream media seem to be ignoring them.
Worried they focus too much on not being Labour.
They must never lose sight of their core values to satisfy the electorate - especially regarding the environment.
The Green Party and their wanna-be dictator Denyer is an absolutely terrifying idea
@@samuelmelton8353 theyve been good on palestine. Right now not being labour is a good thing
@@sunseeker9581 It's risky - if all those concerned for Gaza and disenfranchised from Labour opt to join Greens because they have a better stance - that might seem fine, but the makeup of the party will change away from its bread and butter aims - environment and nature, and problems in England and Wales, such as housing and public transport, and a wealth tax.
That said, I am glad the Greens have taken a strong stance against war crimes and should be a voice that speaks out against them.
Aah if I'd known Aaron was going to be in Castle Park I'd have gone down to shake his hand! Bristol represent! 💚💚💚
As a lifelong Labour voter, when I vote green, I’m not betraying Labour; they betrayed me.
Same here. 'Labour' needs to change its name. It's lost its direction and its meaning.
Me too!
I'm with you, your sentiments are 100% mine too.
Labour betrayed themselves, Keir betrayed everything he stands for 🇵🇸
@@CEO786 Bold of you to assume he ever stood for what he claimed to.
Green , workers , independent, ❤❤❤❤ the big partys are finished
Come on Bristol 💚✊🏿
I've never been so tempted to vote Green as I am now.
@@s3lfl3ssn3ss I will 💚
Don't do it.
@@DeborahWheelhouse-fd6rsand why on earth not?
As a lifelong Labour voter , I'm switching to worker's party or Green .
@@mylife2022workers party would be good if they weren't transphobic, which is a massive red flag
I hope the green party get a load more seats
Labour have lost me these last few months. Thank you for giving the greens some kind of platform.
Preferably a hundred foot platform with no ladders.
The Green have had more MP's that ukip and reform put together but the latter gets more airtime than the Green party on MSM, so I totally agree with your comment.💚
do you want 4 year olds to leave sex?
Bristol City were in the first division in the 1970s. Football existed before the premier league, believe it or not
They had four seasons in top flight
@@Sanjaygupta01 I saw them too at the time. They were in the first division at the same time as my team, Brighton in the late seventies early eighties
Will be voting Green in a GE first time ever in a Labour-Tory marginal. Sick to my stomach of these establishment parties.
Hope you enjoy your Tory MP then .
@@scooby1992there's always one 👏👏
@kingchamed Agree!!
I'm voting Green. I'm in a safe Tory seat so likely another wasted vote - but I think this election we must vote in what we believe in.
The Tories then, in other words
It’s not wasted, the party gets money for every vote!
Starmer rebranding Austerity!
I live in a safe Labour seat but I'll be voting Green for the stats
Also the party gets money, so it’s never a wasted vote to vote Green even if they have no chance of winning the seat 💚
I'm voting Green in Stockton West, formerly Stockton South and Matt Vickers seat. The keeping of the 2 child benefit cap is abhorrent as is Labours position on Palestine.
I'm in Bristol South. The way I see it Stamer has chosen to purge people like me from the Labour Party. Greens have my vote.
Starmer did say "if you don't like the changes I am making, you can leave"
One of the few things Starmer has said that I fully agree with!
Good man (or woman?)
Vile Marxists
The way the left speak about being 'purged' is essentially the same as how the right frame being 'cancelled'.
A great protest vote . Are the tories in second place to Labour ?
I'm in Bristol Central, cant wait to vote for Carla Denyer and the Green party on 4th July 💚💚💚
Vote green
Labour are losing seats because they can't come out and say inequality and war are bad and public services are good.
If you loved the Tory's you might like us should be Labors slogan. They seem to want Tory voters hope green wins they suck
Hasn't Keir Starmer very recently called Israel's actions abhorrent, said that Ukraine needs to be supported and defended, and pledged to nationalise trains and energy supply in his first term?
I'm just confused as to how that isn't _exactly_ what you're claiming they aren't doing
@@XAVR_ Is abhorrent worse then very concerned? I want to see the tear list of words to say when I am faking interest. I like David Camron more then him they both suck but David feels like he cares about something
Largely because of the media. The British media are the most vile but influential stakeholder in Uk elections. We need media reform and despite all the skepticism of Labour doing anything to that effect, they're far more amenable to it than the tories would be. At least they've got a NEC and it's members to discuss, vote and back ideas of this nature in comparison to how useless tory members are.
The fact barely any percentage of the population is willing to protest for things like electoral reform & media reform is why we're stuck with the status quo.
@@daraghokane4236 ok pal 👍🏻
I'm in Bristol North West and if they chair a candidate here, they absolutely have my vote, Labour can get F****d.
We are fielding everywhere :)
@@APAG Excellent, I just searched and have found my candidate :)
The Greens are also in with a good chance of winning Bristol East-where they won most of the council seats…
@@keithrogers4170They're not even in third place unfortunately.
They 100% have my vote in Cardiff West too.
Not as beautiful as Bristol, but my home town. Birkenhead. A third Green seat?
Go Jo.
Jo Bird is a good candidate and they could win there. Hope the campaign is going well.
I'm based in South Bristol and will be voting for Greens as well. I regret not doing it sooner
proud to see Bristol so well represented 💚 there are Green Party placards on most streets here, Free Palestine protests every Saturday at the council house... you can just *feel* that Labour are gonna lose this seat. up the Greens!
Yesss instead of voting for a party that might not go as far as you like on climate, vote for a party that won't form a government and thus potentially let in Tories to protect our own ideological purity, slay queen.
@@tomsapwell5016 the tories have no chance in Bristol, and lets be honest, don't have much chance in the rest of the country either. Stop with the two party system propaganda
@@tomsapwell5016 Idiotic take, the conservatives cannot win in Bristol, nor the nation. Green is the tactical vote here
@@tomsapwell5016 have you seen the polling? both for this seat and nationally greens and labour are in competition against each other or directly with tories - bristol defintiely isnt' a threeway competition. So what you are talking about doesn't make sense
So true novara media would rather stay in opposition forever if it meant staying ideologically pure
Me thinks labour are terrified of Aaron Bastani. 😊

"I got deselected for liking one of your tweets"

Bastani giving labour the runs😂
@ianmackillop1774 yep, I'm a "floating, occasionally tactical" voter and my fear is the labour wave is so tall this time nothing I can do is going to matter. Green party is most likely to take my vote this time if they stand here, but wish them luck with the 4 MPs target.
@@Mikebloke They're standing everywhere this year !
The Green Party should have many more MP's. Such a shame they don't, why do idiots keep voting for the Tories?
FPTP. They have enough supporters in one area several times over to elect loads of MPs and the boundary changes marginally favour the tories .
Make Britain green again 😊
Due to human activity, the UK has lost around half of its biodiversity, based on abundance and species richness, since the Industrial Revolution.
You do know there is 25% more green space in the World and 8% more in the UK since 1999 don't you?
@@stephfoxwell4620 how many are golf courses?
@@ovidiumiinea5462 None.
@@stephfoxwell4620 Since 1999? An oak tree alone takes hundreds of years to reach maturity. England has lost much more woodland than people realise. Even if we have somehow gained 8%, we have lost much more over our history and the state of that green space is *significantly* worse.
25% more green space in the world? Where does this statistic come from? I find that hard to believe considering the population has increased since 1999, deforestation has only continued, and the overall destruction of nature makes restoring green spaces harder.
Yesssss Bristol, make it happen!! We desperately need more progressive voices in parliament and more people rejecting this version of Labour, for the sake of some semblance of democratic choice. Poor Caroline Lucas had to do it on her own for years and she usually sounded like the only sensible person in the room while being generally patronised by the Tories every time she called them out.
Make it happen everywhere.
Greens are not progressive.
They are the most archly conservative Party in Britain.
I’m gonna have my work cut out for me watching Green speeches in Parliament if Siân AND Carla get in! It’s was manageable with just Caroline 😂
💚💚💚
All I have to say about the British Isles: Electoral Reform, Electoral Reform, Electoral Reform. You need to invest in Proportional Representation like we have here in New Zealand (MMP). Worst Past the Post means poor representation in Parliament and not very democratic.
Exactly .
This 👆👆👆👆👆
Labour has gone to the Right and the People have had it with the rightward direction of politics.
So don't vote Labour. Just another bunch of Tories.
Labour has gone to the right just to make them more electable, should they win that will all change
I hope she wins it!
If you live there, vote Green to help her win the seat. If you don't, vote Green to add to the total.
Thank you, thank you for giving coverage to the Green Party. I am sick and tired of our unrepresentative votjng system and the fake wrestling match that is the two major political parties.
Lose your TV set. It'll work wonders for your mental health.
Greens aren't the answer.
They are a compounding of the problem
Not one bristolian accent all middle class mockneys pushing up Bristol house prices
I bet they’d had to look up Bristol on a map before getting on the bandwagon 😂
I hope to see more than Bristol going to green party.
It would be nice if they won seats off the tories and not Labour or the Lib Dems
Come on Brizzer!
The Greens are the Nimby Kings in my area they've recently opposed the building of affordable housing in replace of a disused garage
Where they are in power locally it isnt always good news . Apparently they were a nightmare in Brighton and the bin men were on strike under their watch .
FYI during the bin strike the Green Party held 19 of the 54 council seats, so could only make decisions with support from other parties. They had 'minority control.
All councils have had their budgets squeezed for years (by the Tory government). So the bin strike was another GMB demand for higher pay.
Obviously when the Conservative councillor Joe Miller proclaimed that "I hate to refer to Maggie Thatcher, but this is a similar situation - you can't negotiate with terrorists."... That didn't help the situation...
Exactly! They also opposed HS2! They’re an unbelievably NIMBY party
@@scooby1992 I believe many of the problems originate with contracts the former Labour administration signed.
I voted Corbyn and wanted him to be PM, and Wes Streeting has literally said he doesn't want people like me associated with the Labour Party, which is fine by me. I instructed my union not to allocate my membership fee to Labour. I'll vote for the Greens, perhaps the only left wing party available to the electorate.
I mean, there are others like Unity and more overtly communist/socialist parties, but none with a big presence that’s for sure
Right to roam - to protect our wild spaces they must be appreciated, and must therefore be seen.

Vote Green 💚
I really hope the Greens have a surge.
I normally vote Labour and will be voting tactically.
But I am worried if Labour have a 150 seat majority it might cause more damage.
Hope you enjoyed being here in my hometown! We certainly are different! My MP, Kerry McCarthy, abstained on the Palestine ceasefire vote along with Thagnam Debbonaire (also an MP here). I’ll be voting Green as things stand.
we're voting Green in North Herefordshire. We're going to send Ellie Chowns to Westminster 🍏🍏🍏

Sadly I moved out of what is now the Bristol Central constituency, else I'd definitely have voted Green (no chance of them winning in the part of Bristol I'm in now)
Doesn't stop you. It's not just seats, it's the total number of votes cast- a moral victory, which is sometimes just as important.
Moral victory is never anywhere near as important, at all. Just look at '17 & '19...

Same here, would be great to see similar results to the local elections here!
A few years ago, I was seriously thinking about going over to the UK to work and I was told to stay the hell away from London and instead look to Bristol and Cardiff as they are considered as the two most progressive cities to live in.
That the first I’ve heard about Cardiff, but maybe you’re right?
Hope the Greens win in Bristol, I like Bristol, and I live the opposite side of the Seven Bridge, either Plaid Cymru or the Greens will get my vote
Good luck Greens. 👍
Inshallah, we will win .
Green party for me💚
Apparently Keir Starmer today is saying his number one priority is creating wealth
If Carla Denyer had her way, you’d have zero wealth at all. Only middle class liberals like her, as dictator, can have any money. Or a house. Or actually have the right to eat meat. The list goes on
Good , the more wealth created the more tax can be taken . The greens are anti growth , but without a growing economy where do the taxes come from to fund public services .? You can only tac the rich so much before they leave the country .
@@scooby1992 If we want to do anything real about climate change, we have to build out economies on something other than growth. Anything else is suicide. Degrowth is the only option.
Amazing to see Aaron out asking the questions. Certainly don't see Murdoch out vox popping! Makes me proud to support Novara
Would love to see a video like this brought to Thanet in East Kent. One of the most deprived areas in Kent, always a tory stronghold and more recently had its electoral borders manipulated to retain one of the two seats held locally
I was so sure it would be the SNP that made Labour lose Bristol Central
The Green's had better get out the universities to secure postal votes before all the students go home for summer break? Or that will be a lot of young voters missing the chance to vote within their Bristol constituency?
If young people, students are mainly Green, the G psrty had better get movng to secure those postal votes before the students head back out across the country?
Makes me want to move there!
It's a great city!

PLEASE MAKE IT OBVIOUS WHICH ARE CLIPS FROM NOVARA LIVE AND WHICH ARE UNIQUE CONTENT. I NEARLY MISSED THIS VIDEO!!!
Tiny Austria and all European countries have loads of Green MPs. Why does the much larger Uk population just have one, or maybe even two Greens?
Discuss.
We don’t have proportional representation where you get what you vote for.
Current Labour are essentially Red Tories
The fact you lot think Governments work for YOU is hilarious!!!
Does it matter . Without PR Britain isnt a democracy
Exactly . The Greens should have more than one MP to reflect their vote , but it is only concentrated in a few areas .If I lived in Central Suffolk and Ipswich North I would consider voting Green as they won the council there and are probably best placed to take the seat off the tories , but in my seat only Labour has a chance to beat the tories so that is where my vote is going and we have a great candidate .At the last election the Green vote in my neighbouring seat went up by about 4,000 and I suspect alot of them may have normally voted Labour and were unlikely to be ex Tory voters . The long serving and excellent Labour MP was beaten by a Tory .
Voting Tory or Labour won't get you PR. If enough people vote Green/ workers party/ independent this time and the next time and the next, then the stranglehold will be broken.
Realistically, it only matters in a few seats.
Great coverage! 💚
GIVE GREEN A CHANCE THIS ELECTION

Aaron, please please, when you interview their two leaders, can't recall their names, make a better job of it than you did with George Galloway!
You upset a lot of viewers with that, check out the comments. Hopefully the pair of Green leaders will be closer to your heart than George was /is.
How did he upset alot of viewers ? He asked George questions and George answered them truthfully . Because his views on some subjects werent very progressive people were upset .
If you ask me, the hard left extremists are permanently ‘upset’ about something or the other. How long before their new heros of the month (The Greens) upset them and they flounce off?!?
We need to vote liberal democrat and have them as opposition to Labour
Omg imagine that. I almost can’t since we’ve had Labour/Tories since forever. Wow. That would be quite something. ❤
Alright but greens block way too much development when they get onto councils, they’d completely stymie housebuilding and infrastructure projects when we desperately need them.

Bristol is my fav UK city. The art, music, community and politics are on point ✊
Starmer doesn't want more working class voices selected, he doesn't want those that challenge the economic orthodoxy selected, he doesn't want those that might disagree with his donors and the lobbyists he's serving selected (see the oil and gas lobbyist and aide of his he just dumped in Brighton Kemptown or the former Corporate Affairs Advisor for Yorkshire Water selected for Ossett & Derby Dale), he doesn't want humanitarian or pro-Palestinian voices selected.
He made an effort, out of all the 600 seats he could've gone to, to go to Brighton Pavilion.
He's routinely stood against marginalised communities and workers while in opposition.
His policies, where they exist, involve public money going to private finance initiatives and yet there's no money for children in poverty or saving local public services.
I hope progressives realise he doesn't want their vote and they decide to vote Green instead, rather than bolster his massive majority. We could have 44 second places and 4 MPs in the best of nights for us. Come help us make that a reality.
Anyone know why a Billionaire Bristol City football club owner has zero ambition to be in the Premiership ? We need a Bristol United FC
They have to hold onto Brighton. Better chance now Labour's sacked their guy.

Bristol City has played in the top division
Very true, their first goal after promotion was a Paul Cheesley winner at Highbury! He grew up in the village I grew up in just outside of Bristol in North Somerset.
Pretty ridiculous to say Labour and Starmer may be an authoritarian regime. Makes it hard to take (legitimate) concerns about Labours candidate selection seriously.

In this antiquated two-party system, it's often difficult to hope for real change. Months ago, I came across online voices talking about voting Green should there be a GE. These voices definitely have increased in numbers, there seems to be a real movement, and now I am hoping the Green party has the finances to put candidates forwards in many more seats.
They stand in most seats actually. It’s just that most people do not vote for them.
