"We need more personal responsibility and there was a time that there was no maternity pay." Yes. There was also a time that infanticide was far too common because children don't live on love. They need food and clothing and shelter and lots of other things that Badenoch & her cronies would never deny their own children. Badenoch would not have resigned from her job when she was pregnant if she and her family weren't wealthy. I'd like to see her disappear into obscurity soon.

So she wants to remove the regulations and then just hope that businesses will decide to pay more maternity pay and not less or, potentially, none at all?

I must admin I listened to everything she said in the whole and think her a stud correct. There is too much regulation. The difficult think is how do we reduce it, which is going to take a long and nuanced amount of analysis, then it will need to be explained. She completely gets that. It’s self evident to everyone that politics is a lot harder than we assumed with such a lamentable Tory government and seeing the new Labour government struggling so much… politics is hard, Kemi if elected will have a few years tune the political antenna. From what I have seen she is better placed than the other options for leader of the opposition. I am sure we would all agree we need a good one to keep the government honest.

Kemi. What is going to have the bigger impact on small business? Stupidly high business rates or maternity pay. Serious question. Answer when you feel you are able. Also, I believe all modern and successful rich economies have maternity pay. This is a bit more advanced: Are you trying to say Britain should actively undercut any other first world economy? How on earth is that going to make Britain great, racing to the bottom?
