I always cry when I see the music video cause it has me thinking about my step dad. A wonderful man who did so much with my mom so I could come home from DCS. He also helped looked after my daughter when I would be at work. He passed from Mesothelioma in 2008 he used to make insulation in a plant in the late 70s and 80's.

In March it'll be thirty years that I first met my first foster parents and the rest of their family. They all were one of the greatest blessings that God gave me.

This song brings up a pretty sad memory for me. In October of 2007, my sophomore year of high school, I came back home to Oklahoma from a successful elk hunt in Colorado. It was a few days before my birthday. I noticed the girl, who I had been in and out of a relationship with for several years, didn't show up to school for several days that week. Then one day after school, my dad told me that her mom got hit and killed by a car while crossing the road after she had a flat. Her mom was only 32 (crazy to think that me and that girl are both 30 now). I was gutted, because I knew she was a single mother, and that girl I was crazy about would probably have to move away with foster parents. Though I couldn't afford to miss any more days of school after missing school for my hunting trip, I skipped school to go to her mom's funeral service. I wanted to be there for the girl, and I also wanted to see her one last time, as I didn't know if I would ever get to see her again. It struck me as odd, especially considering how her mom died, but this is one of the songs that they played at her mom's funeral service.

Fun fact. Tracy was sent to jail and took a bit of a downward spiral in his career. When he got out none of those people were there for him. The people in this video are the ones that were there for him to get back on his feet. That's why he ends the song saying "Man I've been there."
Yeah, Tracy is a girl's name, over here, too; but, for some reason, I THINK, it's that they get switched-around to a girl's name---meaning, they start-out as a boy's name. For instance, Reba McEntire's son's name is Shelby, which is a good ol' Southern name.... For a girl (I have 2 of 'em, in my family, alone); but, there was two of 'em, in her husband's family, that were males. I have a brother named Stacy---I've always felt sorry for him (LOL), cuz that's also a girl's name, over here!! Anyway, I like his voice, too---but, I'm not real happy after reading about his misdemeanor conviction for hitting his wife in the face, though.
Tracy was drummed out of the country music business. He beat his wife. When asked about it on TV, he said it wasn't like he beat her. Just in the face, not her whole body. I threw out every bit of his music. Can't/won't watch it. 🇺🇸
