This mash-up was the idea of Joseph Khan for CMA's 50th anniversary (2016). He presented this to a bunch of country superstars and they were all hesitant to participate and doubtful about the outcomes but once they found out George Strait said yes, everyone changed their hearts and came on board. The rest is history.
I read that once George Strait agreed many of the other artists came on board. He truly is respected by his peers. One of the many reasons he is called King George.
I like Vince Gill as an artist but to me he really sounded like he didn't fit in here. Maybe it was that he chose to sing so high but it just seemed so out of place. I love his voice though and have done since he was with Pure Prairie League.
This is a marvelous collaboration! The artists involved are major talents in their own right, and the cameo of Randy Travis (despite his inability to perform) was a nod to his contribution to the industry. Thank you for doing this one! All the best for the New Year! Trish
I don’t know why exactly that this song makes me absolutely dissolve into tears every damn time, but it does. Every one of those songs and almost every artist shown is a favorite of mine. It just hits me smack dab in the feels.
♥ Let's break it down! Part 1: John Denver, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” “Almost heaven, West Virginia (Brad Paisley) / Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River (Keith Urban) / Life is old there, older than the trees (Tim McGraw) / Younger than the mountains (Faith Hill) / Growing like a breeze (Hill, McGraw) / Country roads, take me home (Little Big Town) / To the place (Luke Bryan) / I belong (Bryan, Miranda Lambert) / West Virginia (Lambert), Mountain mama (Bryan) / Take me home (Blake Shelton) / Country roads (George Strait).” The man sitting in the cafe is the legendary Randy Travis, who suffered a stroke years back. Part 2: Dolly Parton, “I Will Always Love You” mashup with “Take Me Home Country Roads” “If I … (Kacy Musgraves), All my memories (Eric Church) / Should stay (Musgraves), They gather ‘round her (Church) / I would only be in your way (Musgraves), Miner’s lady, stranger to blue water (Ronnie Milsap) / So I’ll go (Charley Pride), Dark and dusty (Dierks Bentley) / Yet I know (Pride, Musgraves), Painted on the sky (Bentley) / I’ll think of you each step of the way (Trisha Yearwood), Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye (Bentley) / Country roads, take me home (Lady Antebellum) / To the place, I belong (Shelton), And I … (Carrie Underwood) / West Virginia, mountain mama (Strait), And I … (Underwood, continued) / Take me home, country roads (Darius Rucker), Will always love you (Martina McBride).” Part 3: Willie Nelson, “On the Road Again” mashup with “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and “I Will Always Love You” “On the road again (Jason Aldean) / Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway (Rascal Flatts) / We’re the best of friends (Aldean) / Insisting that the world keep turning our way, and our way (Willie Nelson) / Country roads, take me home (Brooks & Dunn, with a reply from Alabama) / To the place (Rucker), And I … (LBT) / I belong (Rucker), Will always love you you (LBT) / West Virginia, mountain mama (Brett Eldredge), I will always love you (Reba McEntire) / Oh take me home, country roads (Urban).” Part 4: The Finale - An all-song mashup “Oh I hope life treats you kind, and I hope you have all you dreamed of (Reba McEntire) / I wish you joy and happiness (Alan Jackson) / But above all this I wish you love (Vince Gill) / And I … (Carrie Underwood) / Will always love you, I … (Underwood with Paisley) / Will always love you (McBride), Take me home (LBT) / Country roads (LBT) / Take me home (Bentley, Musgraves) / And I ... Amazing Wonderful Great I Think this is so Good Like A Piece of Gold This song will go down in History simply Amazing can't say enough about it These different times for country music this is so Good a great Love This So Much 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I'm think I'm correct in assuming that 2 of the artists you haven't reacted to are Little Big Town and Ronnie Milsap. Both are great. I would recommend "Boondocks", "Pontoon", and "Girl Crush" by Little Big Town. I would also recommend "Stranger in My House", "Any Day Now" and "What a Difference You've Made in My Life" by Ronnie Milsap.
Two of my favorites are Randy Travis, who is seated and doesn’t sing due to the fact his was stricken by a stroke, and the LATE GREAT Charlie Pride, who we lost a little over a year ago to COVID. Both are worth your time.
The look on your face everytime you recognized and the times you did not -- amazing. I was born and raised in West Virginia so that one has a special meaning and I am certain that Brad Paisley being first up was no accident as he was from WV as well. Artists in order of their appearance: Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Randy Travis, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Kacey Musgraves, Eric Church, Ronnie Milsap, Charley Pride, Dierks Bentley, Trisha Yearwood, Lady A, Darius Rucker, Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Willie Nelson, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama, Brett Eldredge, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton
I loved this compilation at the time and still do - the array of stars is amazing - all great with their parts - nice to see Randy Travis even though he couldn’t sing. Yes Green screen - there is a TH-cam video of how they made this.
Excellent reaction! The first group that you did not recognize it Little Big Town, they have some really good music that you might enjoy, towards the end was Vince Gill and he is a legend in country and bluegrass.
That was pretty great! There are many more artists to check out because there are many that weren't on this video and sadly some who have passed away. Very cool collaboration!
One very important person you may have missed is the man sitting at the table silently. That is Country legend Randy Travis, who has suffered a stroke and sadly isn't back to singing yet (still praying for that). Also, towards the end, the man with the angel voice singing "I Will Always Love You" that seems to have left you puzzled is The incomparable Vince Gill. This video moves me to tears every single time. Not sure why. Maybe just the beauty of it and so many of my favorite artists on one song...
Country Roads was a song by John Denver, paying a tribute to him. John died in a plane crash. The 4 person group was Little Big Town from Alabama. You would love their songs.
I'm so glad they gave Randy Travis a place in this song even if he was unable to sing. I loved just seeing him sitting there. His talent and his contribution to country music cannot be overstated. When he came on the scene, country music was dying a slow death. It was being taken over by people who sang under the banner of country music but who were not country... at all. When Randy sang, there was no doubt that he was country, of the same caliber as George Jones and Merle Haggard. I think he saved country music from becoming so watered down that it could perhaps be classified as "pop" music or "American" music but NOT country music. Salute to Randy Travis!
I just found this reaction.. I'm sure you've probably already figured them all out, but just in case... you seemed puzzled by one male artist. It was Vince Gill. He did a duet with Carrie Underwood when she sang How Great thou Art. I believe you reacted to that one. My favorite song of hers ever. And he is one of my favorite male artist.
The only bummer of the whole thing is that all of the song authors could not be there. Unfortunately, John Denver, who wrote Country Roads, is no longer with us. Willie Nelson was there representing On The Road Again, and Dolly Parton was there representing I Will Always Love You.
I"ve only in the past couple of months found your channel (summer 2024), and I really do enjoy your reactions. You seem to be a heartfelt, kind person, and to watch you be excited as you explore country music. And it was great to watch you clearly recognizing in this video the artists you've recently discovered. It gave me a true smile!
Love your show & your reactions. Your smile is infectious. You looked like you might not know who the blind man in the sunglasses at the piano was & it was Ronnie MIlsap. Definitely check out his music! Tons of hits to choose from. My personal favorite is 'Stranger in my house'.
What I like the most about you're channel is watching you're eyes come alive when you listen to new artists and songs. I can see that you are a true country fan. Keep up the good work Happy New Year
Awww, I love this vid, so much---I had actually thought of recommending it to you, myself, but I thought you haven't reacted to even half of the people on here; so, I was gonna wait 'til you got a little more experience. The first group you missed, was Little Big Town---I missed them, myself, when I first saw this, because there were 3 groups that came-out, fairly close to each other: LBT, Lady Antebellum, and Florida Georgia Line, and I always get them confused with each other! I definitely think you should do another reaction where you name the ones you know---when you do, I watched this several times to make a list of everybody, and I'll post it for you! You're right, it was a massive undertaking to get all these artists, together---if, for no other reason, than because they tour, so much (this was before COVID). Dolly could only come-in at, like, 5: 30 in the morning; so, think of the crew that had to come-in that early, cuz she couldn't make it any other time---and they just couldn't have done this song without her!!
How they got those 3 songs to mesh so well I'll never know. They are so different. I knew most of the artists that I've listened to for years, but a couple I wasn't sure of. Such an amazing video and as you said, a massive undertaking to get this together.
You should check out We Are The World- for Africa...We Are The World for Haiti...Tears Are Not Enough- sung by Canadians for aid...Bandaid - Do They Know It's Christmas....full of song legends.
Have you ever seen the "4 chord" bit by Axis Of Awesome? It's pretty impressive. There's a smattering of language, if that's a concern, but easily edited/muted, I'm sure.
Thank for enlarging the music video screen, most make it too small to see. And your pleasantly sweet reaction so sincere., is touching 💙 😊 agape love to you ❤️ 😊

I was so happy they included Randy Travis. He deserved it.
I wish he could still sing:(
Very beautiful we need more country music like the best old music.
I read that once George Strait agreed many of the other artists came on board. He truly is respected by his peers. One of the many reasons he is called King George.
Correct. I read that article after the release of this song.
Plat trace. Adkins .arry 4 money. Debbie
R U kidding me.. loved this.. I knew 93%.. of all the artist.. just wowl
Vince Gill and his pure voice stands out for me
I like Vince Gill as an artist but to me he really sounded like he didn't fit in here. Maybe it was that he chose to sing so high but it just seemed so out of place. I love his voice though and have done since he was with Pure Prairie League.
So many of my favorite debbie

I know 😊
The instant smile when he hears “almost heaven, West Virginia” 🥲
I don’t know why exactly that this song makes me absolutely dissolve into tears every damn time, but it does. Every one of those songs and almost every artist shown is a favorite of mine. It just hits me smack dab in the feels.
This is absolutely glorious. It always makes me cry. So glad you waited until you knew a lot of these artists. Thank you.

Nice job
Good job! That took work!
I can't even imagine the amount of work it took to figure all that out and type it like you did. Well done! Thank you for your effort!
@@maryannanderson2213 Thanks :-) Taste of Country did the heavy lifting for me. lol
Yes
Amazing Wonderful Great I Think this is so Good Like A Piece of Gold This song will go down in History simply Amazing can't say enough about it These different times for country music this is so Good a great Love This So Much 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I saw this at first shortly after it came out and have loved it ever since.
Anything with Vince Gill Is amazing

I would also recommend "Stranger in My House", "Any Day Now" and "What a Difference You've Made in My Life" by Ronnie Milsap.
Absolutely, I think you hit the nail on the head.
I'm guessing that, too. I love LBT! I don't Ronnie Milsap much, but I've heard of him.
Lost in the fifties is a gorgeous song by Ronnie
I'm thing Charlie Pride too.

What do you think of Dolly Parton being last? Did she suggested this? Have no idea but I'm going to go rewatch original clip of this song.
Without a doubt no mistake for Mr. Paisley being there first, bleed the gold and blue. Sometimes wish I didn’t move so far away.
Thanks for the list of artists. There were a few I knew by face, but not name.
I loved this compilation at the time and still do - the array of stars is amazing - all great with their parts - nice to see Randy Travis even though he couldn’t sing. Yes Green screen - there is a TH-cam video of how they made this.
What a brilliant way to put those songs together well done

It was wonderful to see so much talent gathered together to create this.
I loved this collaboration of talent and music 🎶🎵🎶😍💕❤❤
That was pretty great! There are many more artists to check out because there are many that weren't on this video and sadly some who have passed away.
Very cool collaboration!
It's one of the best compilations ever. I adore this video and 3 songs.
JOHN DENVER'S SONG LIVES ON FOREER!!
This was absolutely amazing and fitting to end w Dolly :) What a bunch of legends :)
I had never seen this before. What a great compilation of legends and legendary songs.
I don't know why but Willie Nelson's line always seems so fitting to me that People should listen to more country, its so wholesome
It was a master piece! Beautiful!
Great video. Seeing Keith Urban reminds me to suggest his song "Blue". One of my favorites!
One very important person you may have missed is the man sitting at the table silently. That is Country legend Randy Travis, who has suffered a stroke and sadly isn't back to singing yet (still praying for that).

Why do I always tear up at the end of that? Glad I do! Thanks for your reaction. 🥰
I absolutely adore this video. Great reaction btw

could you imagine any other genre of music trying to pull this off? The ego's alone would stop it in it's tracks
Randy Travis has some wonderful songs as well! Your reactions are so great!!

Been waiting for more reactors who get to know country do this one!
I just discovered this song a few months ago and I cannot stop listening to it.

The group in this video is Little Big Town. They have some great songs .. you may start with Boondocks or Pontoon
Fantastic reaction! There were even a couple of stars I didn't recognize and I've been listening to country music for more than 70 years!
Little Big Town is the band you didn't recognize right away. Children Go Where I Send You is one of my faves they do!
So beautifully done.
Omgosh you GET it!!!!! Beautiful reaction, again!!❤❤
Love love love this. Played this version at my father in laws funeral ❤️
Thanks 👍 very much for such a great video and reaction. And there are so many more deserving artists who couldn't be in the video.
omg yes !! I saw this a few years ago and just fell in love with it !!!! ❤❤🔥🔥
This is aa true STUNNER....just love it...and seeing all those artists together...amazing !
How they got those 3 songs to mesh so well I'll never know. They are so different. I knew most of the artists that I've listened to for years, but a couple I wasn't sure of. Such an amazing video and as you said, a massive undertaking to get this together.
It's always a treat to watch this video. Happy for you for going through the music journey.
WOW - I’m speechless!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I loved this mix of terrific songs.
I really enjoy your reactions and your country music journey! Happy New Year from Indianapolis, Indiana!
nice to see a fellow Hoosier 😁
I love this video, so beautiful how they mashed the songs together.
Just scratching the surface..enjoy and welcome.
They say that country music is 3 chords and the truth. There's a lot of country songs that you can merge together because of it.
I think that you maybe recognized the queen of Country Miss.Dolly Pardon at the end.
How could I not!! Legend!!
That one always makes me nostalgic…
Carrie Underwood is about the most beautiful thing God ever created. She is so stunning!
That's a beautiful tribute!!❤❤
Damnit, I cry every single time! ❤
There is a 'how we made it video' as well! Mindblowing stuff!
I agree with you, this was awesome.
I love your reactions! I’ve been Country all my life, and it’s soooo fun to see someone discover it. 💖
Thank you for this. Wonderful.
You should check out We Are The World- for Africa...We Are The World for Haiti...Tears Are Not Enough- sung by Canadians for aid...Bandaid - Do They Know It's Christmas....full of song legends.

Try listening to Earl Thomas Conley singing Holding Her and Loving You. Would like to hear your reaction. Love your videos
I will always love you is Dolly's song. On the road again is Willie Nelson's song. Country roads is the late John Denver's song
“Lost in the 50’s Tonight.” Ronnie Milsap.
Charlie Rich: “In a field of Yellow Daisies”
Mickey Gilley - Room Full of Roses, Ronnie Milsap - I Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World,
Thanks for sharing this!❤
George Straight is the King. Dolly is the Queen of Country.
Have you ever seen the "4 chord" bit by Axis Of Awesome? It's pretty impressive. There's a smattering of language, if that's a concern, but easily edited/muted, I'm sure.
Check out Boondocks by Little Big Town. Thanks.
Thank for enlarging the music video screen, most make it too small to see. And your pleasantly sweet reaction so sincere., is touching 💙 😊 agape love to you ❤️ 😊
Wow. I'm in awe.
Love this! ❤️
