The story behind this song is the real story. Tracy was incarcerated at the height of his career and when he came out of prison , he only had a handful of friends that talked to him. The performers in this video, they helped him change that

went to prison myself many years ago, didnt just lose friends it was family too, but through it all I had one friend who always had my back, can never thank him enough for not giving up on me when everyone else did
@@jayjaythejetplanet51 it was on the news when it happen. I made this comment 4 months ago. I remember him going to jail and when he got out. Pretty sure it on GMA at the time
Tracy also talks about it when he’s live. I seen him back in November and he touched on it briefly. Not quite as in depth as when he got out of prison. I’m thinking that was more than 14 years ago
Tracy and George Jones were friends. George helped alot of young country performers and they loved him alot.

Tracy Lawrence from the lil town of Foreman, Arkansas. saw him and Sammy Kershaw in 97 at a rodeo there. I was 7 then. great times.

Always loved this song..True friends are always there. We have one friend that recently lost his wife unexpectedly. We continue to check on him on a weekly basis because all the other people in his life kinda forgot about them.
