To answer the question about the force and Anakin. It took him a while to learn how to use the force with the robotic hand since it was different from his other. There's a book called Brotherhood where he talks about it.
58:19 this guy gets it. A lot of people used to ask why anakin was crying in that scene. It’s because he hates himself so much for what he did, the horrors he committed. But he felt he had to do it to save his family. That’s what makes the story of anakins manipulation by palpatine so tragic.
''I am not blind, Padmé. Though I have tried to be, for Anakin's sake. And for yours. Anakin has loved you since the day you met, in that horrible junk shop on Tatooine. He's never even tried to hide it, though we do not speak of it. We... pretend that I don't know. And I was happy to, because it made him happy. You made him happy, when nothing else ever truly could.'' - Obi-Wan Kenobi
I believe Obi-Wan knew Anakin and Padmé harbored feelings for one another similarly to how Obi-Wan and Satine did. Though I am also a firm believer that Obi-Wan wasn't aware of how far Anakin and Padmé's relationship had gotten. Them having become married and Padmé carrying their children, I do not believe Obi-Wan was aware of that fact until the very end, when he pieced those parts together himself. After all, Obi-Wan believed Anakin and Padmé's relationship WAS purely Professional, or at least that they tried to keep it Professional, as with Obi-Wan and Satine.
The heartbreaking part of the clones, is that they were good people with individual personalities. Most were friends with the jedi they followed, but good soilders follow orders.
@@ISavant they didn't really have a choice in the matter once they heard the order they were no longer themselves anymore so don't blame the clones they were victims just as much as the jedi
The tragedy is that if he would have listened to Windu, he would have had everything he wanted. he was asked to wait in the Council Chamber. Upon their return, they were going to make him a Master. He would have had it all, without turning to the dark side.
@@LoveThisRealWoman That's a good point. He only played possum to being beaten by Mace to lure Anakin. But I could only go based on what my eyes see, and he had him beat, before Anakin came into the room.
I'm glad you guys caught it or at least I heard Monica say it: Anikan's desire to sacrifice everything to save padme from dying is LITERALLY what killed her. And Palpatine knew that would happen that way. Maybe u guys wanna watch the Obiwan series, it picks up a few years after episode 3 yet still years before episode 4. 1,2,and 3 are roughly 10 years apart. Then from episode 3 to 4 it's more like 20 years. The Obiwan series and also the movie Rouge One are great and take place in between 3 and 4.
watching clone wars makes order 66 so much more impactful, also adds a lot of characters and development to those we already know and love, i’d recommend it, also those yellow eyes Vader had is an effect of one giving themselves to the dark side, in the jedi temple, he didn’t have those eyes because he really believed he was doing the right thing, he actually enjoyed killing the separatist leaders, so that’s when he had fully given himself over.
I hate having watched clone wars and all connected shows because I feel so bad how they treated the clones literally like cattle with the sole purpose of just dying in the end after betraying everything they thought they were fighting for.
@Dayspring i know, i prefer the chip though, i think it makes it even more tragic, not having a chip kinda made palpatine look dumb as well, no safeguards at all
@@dayspring3459 Chip is way more interesting than Legends. Palpatine wouldn't bet his plan on a choice of regular soldiers. Plus moments like Rex fighting with his "programming" to tell Ahsoka about chips is great, bcs it shows his friendship with her let him resist it for a moment.
I remember watching this in theater and when Obi-Wan said "It's over Anakin. I have the high ground.". As a Darth Vader fan I was like please dont jump and then the rest is history.
Unfortunately it doesn’t come off in live action but palpatine is moving at such a quick speed that he was able to slice up the other 3 Jedi and the reason mace Windu is able to keep up is because of the form of lightsaber fighting he uses which taps into the dark side
Mace Windu's combat skills are enough to match Yoda. The only reason he can use the form in the first place is because he is extremely powerful and disciplined.
Mace Windu's light saber form does not draw on the dark side. It comes close, but Jedi cannot use dark side power. Also, Palpatine used a power called force scream, which disoriented the 4 Jedi who attacked him. Windu was known as one of the best duelists in the galaxy, that's how he held his own against Palpatine.
The war in the galaxy after the Battle of Geonosis, called the Clone Wars, lasted 3 years and Anakin was one of the most important commanders of the clone army as a Jedi general, which is why he was absent from Coruscant for a long time. You should watch the animated series: Star Wars the Clone Wars, it's really great, it strongly develops the main characters and many others that we only see in the film through single scenes, including many other jedi, and shows this conflict
@@lionhead123 Hah, just like the entire Star Wars universe is full of illogicality, a million death stars all with a factory defect, the jedi council does not trust Anakin by force, pushing him to the dark side, stormtroopers who should be elite soldiers but get spanked by ewoks, Jango who being the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, instead of killing Padme normally, he hires another contractor and resorts to some worms and much more. However, you have to accept that this is a fantasy universe with a large number of illogical elements, but still, I think that Star Wars the Clone Wars is worth watching, although of course there are weaker episodes
@@lukescrew1981 Yes they should. The Clone Wars show is honestly the best form of Star Wars media out and adds so much to the Prequels and especially this movie
21:18 If Anakin would have become a Master here he would have had access to the restricted section at the temple library which could have helped him find another way to protect Padme. That info comes from the Episode III novelisation. Not becoming a Master is a reason why he was angry at Mace denying him that. A part of that holocron vault can be seen in the 2008 animated clone wars show.
A funny side not to help cut the tension of the sci-fi horror, the actor that played Anakin was so good with the child actors, and was so nice, that they were having trouble filming the scene where everyone looked scared. The cut they used, when he pulls out his lightsaber and the one kids flinches, and they all looked worried was because he walked into the room and yelled boo really loud and aggressive and it startled and scared them a little, all other cuts at least one kid was smiling or laughing because he had spent so much time playing with and having fun with them and they couldn't take him seriously when he acted mean lol.
55:06 A good question, and Rico is definitely on the right track with his guess. The Dark Side can actually physically-corrupt users depending on how immersed they are in it, how much they use it, or if they commit a particularly evil/hostile act in pursuit of it. In fact, if I recall right, Palpatine actually had to use a sort of Force-based illusion to maintain his normal appearance; and during his duel with Windu, the rebound lightning stripped the illusion away and revealed what he REALLY looked like. Mind you, this is based off of a throw-away line I heard of from the novelization of the movie, which may or may not be proper canon at this point given the Disney take-over and all. But yeah, using the Dark Side of the Force actually does mess you up almost as much physically as it does mentally.
I have always consider the opposite thing... That scene was made in order to explain why Sidious has that face. It was the red eyes what give the Sith the evil look, and that is why only Darth Sidious has that face and no other Sith
@@NL-X A fair way of looking at it, and I think under the Disney canon that is indeed what they're going with. But in "Legends" dark-side corruption can cause other physical-alterations besides the yellow/orange eyes; like deformities and premature-aging.
@@refurbishedtechpriest9076 oh thx for the clarification. I personally like more that it was his own lighning the one that gave him the "scars" that would always reveal how horrible he is inside, however Legends version of it does makes a lot of sense as well. Now I think George Lucas was more into explain the face with the scene tbh, but as our beloved Master Kenobi said: "many of the truths depends greatly on our points of views" (or something like that I don't remember lol)
after having had dealings with a coule covert narc s and knwing what the yare, palpatine is the ulitimate narcissit. that includes gallighting. projectin, guilt trippin, manipulations, love bombing, grooming etc.. but guesw what else they do. narc rage, when they get caughgt they go into narc rage and their mask falls off, this is literally what happened
A theory about Padme‘s death has been around for a long time and I think it’s the most compelling one. It basically says that Palpatine used the power of the dark side to create life and basically save someone from certain death (as Palpatine explained to Anakin). Except that he didn’t just save or rather create Darth Vader but he sacrificed Padmes life in order to do so. Which is why the two scenes, the death of Padme and Anakin and the birth of Darth Vader are cut alongside each other. I think you can perfectly see it as Vader takes his first breath or when Padme dies and basically falls back a bit while in the next scene you see Vader rise. It’s also why Padmes death can’t really be explained.
Man you can really see how heartbroken Monica is during the whole Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme scene on Mustafar. Love how invested you guys are in this whole series
For context it has been a couple of years between Episode 2 and 3. The Clone Wars lasted quite a while. Anakin was also preemptively promoted to Jedi Knight before going through the proper trials. He became a Knight at an earlier age than Obi-Wan. He is supposed to be in his early 20s at this point which is very young to be on the Council.
I remember reading somewhere - I think it may have been the junior novelization of the movie - that there was a scene that didn't make the film where Anakin goes to the Jedi library researching premonitions and visions in something called a Jedi Holocron which is basically their version of a library book. The information he gets from it warns that trying to stop something from happening in a vision can sometimes end up causing it to happen - that always stuck with me because as you guys mentioned several times Padme would likely have been fine if Anakin hadn't become obsessed with "saving" her. Additionally, Anakin did turn out to still be the "Chosen One" - one interpretation of the title Return of the Jedi is that not only did Luke survive to create a new Jedi Order, but Anakin died as a Jedi rather than a Sith and yeeting Palpatine down the Death Star shaft destroyed the Sith. The irony is it took his attachment to his children, which the Jedi in the prequels would forbid, to make it happen.
Palpatine was telling anakin how darth plagueis could use the force to influence midichlorians to create life. Shmi skywalker (anakins mom) said anakin had no father and she couldnt explain what happened.. it was a conception through the force, orchestrated by the sith from the very beginning. In the end anakin did fulfill the prophecy (with some convincing from luke) by throwing the emperor down the shaft thus bringing balance to the force. The disney plot messes all that up though… great reaction guys, i personally love how george lucas told the story out of order, it was a unique artistic choice on his part and the pay off of learning what caused vader and the empire to exist is captivating.
If I remember correctly, Plagueis and Sidious were trying to create life with the force and failed. Then, the force reacted to their attempt by creating Anakin.
Here's a different interpretation of the 'Big Picture' of the Star Wars films (episodes I thru VI): The Force has a will of its own, that is independent of the Jedi, the Sith and everyone else. (The Force is NOT a character in the films, in the sense that we don't see or meet it, in any way; It reveals its will by certain events that happen.) The Force 'knew' that Palpatine and the other Sith needed to be taken down. It also knew that its usual tool, the Jedi, were not a match for this group of Sith. So, The Force had to get involved directly, behind the scenes. - Was Shmi Skywalker impregnated by The Force, and gave birth to Anakin, who was 'immaculately conceived'? - Was it a coincidence that Anakin's birth took place on the outer rim, where he wouldn't be discovered by the Jedi until age 9? (And developed normal human need for attachments?) - Was it a coincidence that Palpatine is presented with the perfect 'bait' in the form of Anakin - a super-powerful Jedi, with an incredibly strong tie to the Force, yet desperately in need of a father who will (appear to) love him unconditionally (as Palpatine pretends to), and who is loyal to family in a way that no other Jedi is? - Does Padme seem like the sort of person who would fall in love with, and then MARRY, a man who had wiped out an entire village of Sandpeople, even as a quasi-act of just revenge? - When Owen and Luke are about to complete the purchase of C-3PO and the 'other' (red) R2 unit in 'A New Hope,' does that droid 'just happen' to blow a fuze at the right moment? (so that R2-D2 ends up with Luke?) If we look at the events through this frame, (of The Force as an Unseen Power, guiding events) then Anakin was clearly born into the universe (and into particular circumstances) to eventually sacrifice himself and to destroy the Sith. He didn't know any details. The only thing anyone knew, was that Prophecy mentioned a 'Chosen One,' and that he would bring balance to the Force. But, The Force knew exactly what it was doing, at every stage; Anakin was 'set up' by The Force to be a Savior/Messiah/human sacrifice (to save the Universe) from Day One.
1:04:33 The rule of 2 which the sith often follow (since it was created) says that the master trains the apprentice until the apprentice is more powerful and kills the master. And then the cycle repeats. The goal is that the remaining sith becomes more powerful than the last and so they grow stronger and stronger over time. If Vader wouldn't have gotten the suit and his injuries, then what Palpatine said here would have become reality most likely.
@@pricemaxer9736 In his crippled state, he was still several degrees more powerful than the surviving Jedi(save Yoda), but he was inevitably far weaker than Palpatine had wanted him to be. Anakin was conceived by either Plagueis or Sidious/Palpatine(conflicting sources), who used the Force to immaculately conceive a child. As a result, Anakin's force potential is several orders of magnitude higher than any living Jedi, even Yoda. However, he lost ~40% of his body mass on Mustafar, and since the force flows through living tissue, this means he also lost a relative amount of his force potential. For reference, Anakin's midichlorian count(and they are not the source of the Force, they merely translate to one's relative ability to draw upon the Force) was around 20,000 midi-chlorians per cell. For contrast, Yoda had 18,000 per cell and Obi-Wan had around 13,000(which is actually a pretty low number for a Jedi). When Anakin lost on Mustafar and lost 40% of his body mass, he also lost 40% of his total midi-chlorians(his per-cell count remains unchanged, he just has a lot less cells through which the Force can flow). NORMALLY, this would have translated to a significant loss in overall Force ability, but Vader was able to substantially mitigate the loss by committing to the Dark Side with every fiber of his being. He became so immersed in the hatred and anger of the Dark Side that he made up much of the power he'd lost, though he still ended up being substantially(~20%) weaker than the Emperor, when Sidious himself anticipated that a fully Dark Side Anakin would have been far stronger than even he was. It's sort of terrifying to imagine how powerful Anakin could have been had he defeated Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Padme would have received the best possible medical treatment and possibly even survived. Anakin would probably kill Palpatine in short order, but he doesn't have a mind for Empire management and lacks Palpatine's connections. However, it would surprise me deeply if the Clones did not have instructions to default to Anakin as the next highest authority in the event of Palpatine's death, regardless of circumstances, so Anakin would be in possession of the only significant military in the galaxy. Several small rebellions would inevitably break out, but I strongly believe Anakin would have redoubled the production of Clones (Vader had no taste for the Death Star or similar weapons), and by the original timing of Episode 4, he'd have brought the entirety of Hutt space to heel beneath his boot. Not sure where things go from there. The biggest failing of the Dark Side is that it is a hole that can never be filled. "Emperor Skywalker" would have constantly been seeking new frontiers to conquer.
@@perrycarters3113 interestingly, about Anakin’s conception. In the Darth Plagueis novel (which is no longer canon, but hasn’t been “replaced”) it is heavily implied that Anakin’s conception was an unintended result of Plagueis and his Master manipulating the Force at such a cosmic scale. Sort of the “light side” spawning in a child to balance the evil that the Sith were up to
@@zed_1585 This plays into the quote from Snoke; "Dark rises, and light to meet it." If one side of the Force threatens to consume the other, the Force itself will seemingly spontaneously conjure a being that will be coincidentally perfectly placed and equipped to tip the balance the other way. Ironically for Plagueis, Anakin played pivotal roles in both overthrowing the light and then the same to the dark.
Obi-Wan let Anakin live, because he didn’t think that Anakin would survive. Anakin was burned into a crisp with no limbs laying on a downward slope. It would be cruel to kill him. Keep in mind he didn’t know the emperor was coming. So as far as he knew, Anakin was done for anyway, that’s why Obi-Wan didn’t kill Anakin.
I liked the old canon version where Obiwan didn't kill him because he saw / senses Palpatines ship approaching. It's not cruel to end someone who's burning alive lmao
"it would be cruel to kill him" my man was burning alive and it is known to be one of the most painful death that exist. Keeping him alive is what was cruel.
I like to think that obi-wan hope Anakin will survive even he doesn't admit it. He love Anakin but he should kill Anakin but he doesn't. All because he love Anakin. Then he left Anakin like that. Think he will die but deep down, Hope he will survive. And even hate himself for Hope.
Yeah...Qui Gonn spirit taught Obi Wan to become a force ghost. That´s why he told Vader in episode IV: "if you strike me down, I´ll become more powerful that you can possibly imagine".
It makes for an awesome environment to fight in, but also, sending the Separatist leaders to Mustafar was a deliberate move by palpatine, the planets themselves can have strong connections to the force, and Mustafar has a deep connection to the dark side, which helped push Anakin further into corruption.
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever: The first dawn of light in your universe brings pain. The light burns you. It will always burn you. Part of you will always lie upon black glass sand beside a lake of fire while flames chew at your flesh. You can hear yourself breathing. It comes hard, and harsh, and it scrapes nerves already raw, but you cannot stop it. You can never stop it. You cannot even slow it down. You don’t even have lungs anymore. Mechanisms hardwired into your chest breathe for you. They will pump oxygen into your bloodstream forever. Lord Vader? Lord Vader, can you hear me? And you can’t, not in the way you once did. Sensors in the shell that prisons your head trickle meaning directly into your brain. You open your scorched-pale eyes; optical sensors integrate light and shadow into a hideous simulacrum of the world around you. Or perhaps the simulacrum is perfect, and it is the world that is hideous. Padme? Are you here? Are you all right? you try to say, but another voice speaks for you, out from the vocabulator that serves you for burned-away lips and tongue and throat. Padme? Are you here? Are you all right? I’m very sorry, Lord Vader. I’m afraid she died. It seems in your anger, you killed her. This burns hotter than the lava had. No…no, it is not possible! You love her. You have always loved her. You could never will her death. Never. But you remember… You remember all of it. You remember the dragon that you brought Vader forth from your heart to slay. You remember the cold venom in Vader’s blood. You remember the furnace of Vader’s fury, and the black hatred of seizing her throat to silence her lying mouth… And there is one blazing moment in which you finally understand that there was no dragon. That there was no Vader. That there was only you. Only Anakin Skywalker. That it was all you. Is you. Only you. You did it. You killed her. You killed her because, finally, when you could have saved her, when you could have gone away with her, when you could have been thinking about her, you were thinking about yourself… It is in this blazing moment that you finally understand the trap of the dark side, the final cruelty of the Sith - Because now yourself is all you will ever have. And you rage and scream and reach through the Force to crush the shadow who has destroyed you, but you are so far less now than what you were. You are more than half machine, you are like a painter gone blind, a composer gone deaf, you can remember where the power was but the power you can touch is only a memory, and so with all your world-destroying fury it is only droids around you that implode, and equipment, and the table on which you were strapped shatters, and in the end, you cannot touch the shadow. In the end, you do not even want to. In the end, the shadow is all you have left. Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself- And within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame. This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker. Forever…
33:58 Greivous is actually organic, the rest is basically a kind of exoskeleton and cybernetics. The reason he coughs so much is because the cybernetics are extremely irritating to his lungs.
Is the cough not from Mace Windu crushing his lungs? Or is that not cannon? I'm sure there's likely multiple reasons out there, but I believe the end of the original cartoon Clone Wars was the first.
That's the thing, right? Yes, Anakin is incredibly talented and has proven himself. But he doesn't know everything. He's still wildly naive and allows himself to easily be manipulated. Exactly why the Jedi Council was hesitant to make him a Master. And what he does in the Jedi Temple is beyond horrific. The other Jedi always sensed that potential for darkness in him.
True, but they never gave Anakin the emotional support that he needed, and they never showed him any trust since he first came to the temple. The Jedi also failed to see the danger that was right in front of them (Palpatine). As Yoda came to realize, they were so focused on the future that they forgot to keep their concentration’here and now where it belongs’ as Qui Gon once said. Plus the Jedi Order had become too dogmatic, arrogant, and too detached from others. The Jedi’s hypocrisy is that while they forbid attachment, they themselves were too attached to the Republic and the power that it gave them. Some of the things that Palpatine said were true “all who gain power are afraid to lose it” wouldn’t you say?
The whole moral of the prequel story, was to show how the Jedi failed Anakin. Their treatment and handling of Anakin, was the reason why he turned to the dark side. The Jedi had lost their way, which was why Qui-Gon did not want to sit on the Council. He understood what was wrong and how they were on a wrong path, hence why he was also the only one who saw Anakin's potential to lead them into better ways. But the close-minded Jedi Council only saw a threat in the young boy, which was what pulled that boy towards the very darkness they feared. Had the Council tried to understand Anakin's pain and helped him properly, he could've brought balance to the force by becoming the mightiest Jedi of all time! But the Jedi Council's treatment of him, meant that the prophecy could only be fulfilled if Anakin turned to the dark side and destroyed the Jedi. Qui-Gon & Anakin embodied what the Jedi were really supposed to be, and Anakin knew that and that was his frustration throughout the prequels and the clone wars series.
Obi-Wan Did not know Anakin would survive and he did not want to watch him die in front of his eyes, that is why he just left....I cry every time i watch that scene...
Rico is on point, from Anakin's view, he was always doing the right thing. Like in the movie, Chancellor briefly explains how the dark side isnt bad depending on the perspective. To add to this, because the balance was so in favor of the light side, It made each person on the dark side be even more powerful as individuals, this is how Darth Vader "brings balance to the force".
In the original cartoon Clone Wars (2003-2005), General Grievous is coughing because as he was kidnapping the Chancellor, Mace Windu shows up and crushes his chest piece with the force and then he gets away. You guys should watch the Cartoon Network Clone Wars, really well made even though it’s not technically canon anymore.
While technically not canon, a lot of it is referenced and/or kept the same in Clone Wars 2008, which I find great. It's like they did all they could to dance around the 2003 miniseries, managing to keep a few of the greater moments almost intact. A few examples (disclaimer: I haven't read books or comics, so written material may contradict this): - The first time Ventress appears (chronologically speaking), she already knows both Obi-Wan and Anakin. In the 2003 series she meets them for the first time, and I'm glad I can take her fight with Anakin as head-canon. - During an episode you see flashbacks of Ventress' story, and you can see glimpses of scenes taken almost directly from the 2003 Clone Wars, but animated in 3D. - In Season 7 Ep. 9, when the capture of the Chancellor is referenced, the few details given match perfectly with the way it was portrayed in the miniseries.
(1:17:08) For those who do not understand, Padme's life was linked to Anakin. There was a strong spiritual bond where he unconsciously took too much of her vital energy in order to survive, while she gave it all to him in her final moments after the delivery.
Revenge Of The Sith is my absolute favorite out of the prequels. The double climactic lightsaber duels that take place toward the end of the movie. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader VS Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar and Yoda VS Emperor Palpatine on Coruscant in the Senate chamber are top notch across the board. Musical score, fight choreography, visual effects, audio effects and emotional impact. I give them all an A+.
19:31 That scar was give to Anakin by Asajj Ventress, a character from the Clone Wars show, in a star wars comic. I'd love to see you reacting to that and the other shows as well.
24:42 I think this is basically what the reason is for people renouncing the Republic and joining the Seperatist, which formed partialy because of that reason.
Seing Aayla dying like that is Heart breaking. But she has not be forgotten and she will never 🥰😍 Hope to see more about (his master) Quinlan Vos soon.
About the Jedi not being able to see... Remember at the end of the last movie Yoda says, "the shroud of the dark side has fallen...", Essentially saying that Sidious used the dark side to cloud their vision and ability to sense the underlying plan he was orchestrating.
Simply the Jedi were too arrogant, they thought the sith were defeated and so they became lax,on the contrary the sith evolved. The Jedi still thought that the sith woul fight them with lightsabers when actually they used politics
Although a lot of people view Darth Vader as a 'bad guy', when you look at it from this angle, he's really the victim, he was manipulated, betrayed, and lied to. A tragic story.
Loved this reaction, loved the way y’all understood the movie, it was a joy seeing y’all predict some moments and amazed at some moments throughout the movie. It’s definitely many fans favorite Star Wars movie because of how dark and how much action there was. My favorite part was the musical score, it was on another level this episode. I hope you guys watch Rogue One and maybe the Mandalorian, it’ll be great to see how y’all react to them.
The Clone War raged for over 3 years. I recommend watching the animated series, followed immediately by The Bad Batch (the run back to back, timeline wise). I'm just finding your channel, so I don't know what all you've seen already, so I'll just include some stuff from this movie alone, and put the complete timeline at the bottom. Don't discount/overlook the animated shows. I did, and regretted missing out on their initial run. But at least I was able to binge-watch them. If you've already seen the original trilogy, you should watch them again after everything leading up to them, as those movies and shows put the OT into a whole new context. Episode I, Episode II, The Clone Wars (animated), Episode III, The Bad Batch (animated), Solo: A Star Wars Story, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Rebels (animated), Rogue One, Episode IV, Episode V, Episode VI, The Mandalorian (seasons 1 and 2), The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian (season 3), (Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew have yet to release, but are supposed to be in this part of the timeline), Episode VII, Episode VIII, Episode IX.
it is crazy too how some of these clones were good friends with the Jedi, some even close friends. The chip that they all were implanted with when they were created forced them to execute Order 66 must have been heartbreaking for them internally.
if you look back at 1:12:32 he only says to wipe the protocol droids mind he never said the astromech so good old R2D2 has been purposely keeping C3P0 in the dark all the way from lukes birth and by extension the entire rebel alliance on the details of what happened lol so he indeed could be considered the "main character" as he's seen everything from attack of the clones all the way till ep 9
R2 was around since Queen Amidalas ship escaped the trade federation's blockade at Naboo, so he was even present for the beginnings of the Sith's rise to power.
I’ve heard some fans say that R2D2 is the being that writes the opening text for each Star Wars movie. In the future R2 will write the story of the Star Wars saga.
Need fact: the clones were brainwashed to only execute order 66 at the emperor’s command and no one else. So up until that point they’re trust and support for the Jedi was real.
Anakin actually wasnt an apprentice anymore. He has at this point been a jedi Knight for 3 years. But he was still to young to become a master. But he was still stronger then almost all the jedi Masters with the exception of Windu and Yoda. Obi Wan was actually weaker than anakin, but beat him because he knew him best and was a defensiv master, just wating for the right moment to counter. In the ende Anakin was to impatient during the battle.
17:17 to answer your question, yes, it does affect him losing his arm.it’s the reason darth Vader can’t use force lightning, because he has no real arms to produce it out of. But other force abilities he doesn’t need his arms for, he just uses them to help him focus. The main difference was anakins over all strength and potential dropped a lot cause of his loss in such a large amount of body tissue
One way they didn’t see it coming was the fact that none of the clones felt any malice towards the Jedi when given the order. It was basically “okay, we’ll get it done.”
One important thing to understand about Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious is that he is the most powerful being in the galaxy, not just in influence, but in the Force and as a warrior as well. You were wondering how he struck Yoda down with Force Lightning when Yoda blocked Count Dooku’s. You must understand that Dooku is *_nowhere near_* as powerful as his Master, Darth Sidious. Sidious can (and has) defeated Dooku with a simple flex of his hand. Sidious is on a whole other level. That’s why Yoda ran from him in the end, because he realised that even he, the most powerful Jedi ever, could not defeat Darth Sidious in a fight. Mace Windu also stood no chance. Palpatine could have defeated him at any point with ease if he wanted to, but instead he just killed the other Jedi instantly and allowed the fight to continue until he sensed Anakin arriving (as Palpatine had known he would), then he deliberately dropped his defences and allowed himself to be “defeated”, as he engineered this whole situation just to tempt Anakin into betraying Windu and the Jedi Order and sealing his allegiance into Darth Sidious and the Sith. In that regard, even Anakin, the Chosen One, was nothing but talk when he claimed that it was “his” empire and that he would “overthrow” the Chancellor/Emperor. Realistically, Anakin/Vader stood no chance at doing that, and as shown in the canon lore, he would go on to be humbled by the Emperor numerous times throughout his life, to remind him that Darth Sidious is the supreme Sith, not Vader. So the Emperor/Sidious is a villain who cannot be defeated in a straight-up fight - he’s too powerful. And although he knows he can beat anyone in the Force or lightsaber combat, that’s not how he chose to win; Palpatine won because he turned the entire galaxy against his enemies and got them to accept his absolute rulership over them.
Palpatine's plan was centuries and generations in the making. There is a fantastic book about Darth Plagueis (mentioned in this movie) that goes into details on how that plan got put into place. It was a plan handed down from sith to sith and enacted methodically. Palpatine was just the final sith when the great trap went off. You really have to hand it to George Lucas for thinking all this up. Truly amazing to behold, imo.
42:16 - You hear that odd scream? The reason the guys just "sat there", it has been explained, is that Palpatine led with what has been described as a "Sith scream", a power of the Force that has a brief stun effect.
Honestly i watched many reactions of ROS but your reaction is the first the i watch the entire video. I love how both of you talk about everything in the movie, this is the reason i needed to watching the whole video. Great reaction!
To point out as well, Anakin wanted to become a Master because only masters have access to the restricted texts in the Jedi library. He thought that he could find a way to save Padme in there and that the Jedi were hiding it from him
Yeah. Anakin's pride really axed him here. He knew that Obi Wan already knew about him and Padme. He refused to ask for his help anyway. If he had gone to the council and asked for help, they wouldn't have even expelled him from the order. They let Revan come back.
@@JustSomeGuywithEpicGrasses You are right about the pride thing, but he basically asked Yoda for help and all he told him was “forget it and move on”. I also think they would have expelled him. They did it to Ahsoka without even trying to defend her as one of their own. Idk just my take
@@JustSomeGuywithEpicGrasses she was still an important piece to both the Jedi order and the republics army. Anakin did open up to Yoda, he just Didn’t mention who he was referring to. Yoda would have still told him to let go because that is what the “Jedi” are supposed to do.
@@alannerrato3278 she really wasn't. The war was over. She wasn't the chosen one. There was no reason to keep her around. Anakin gave him nothing, and Yoda gave him a default response. Who? Someone. Be careful when looking into the future, then. Don't fear loss.
7:27 It’s kindve refreshing, because all the pressure is on The Count this time to beat both anikan AND Obi-wan, at the same time, again for the rematch (2 elite Jedi Knights and decorated war heroes mind you). This early in the movie too, you already knew he wasn’t getting out of that one alive. Pretty lucky for even taking down Obi a second time if you ask me… 21:06 People knock the prequels for funny stuff like the acting, plotholes, yeahhh it’s not as iconic as the OG movies, wtvr. But I’m ngl, I felt for anikan in this one because he’s risked his ass many of times for the war, the Jedi and in the name of the Republic. He’s bled for this and he’s even got his stripes with the council and his battle wounds, he should be a made guy at this point!!! The audacity of mace, and the order amazes me. Like why not bring him in closer to you if you sense “GrAvE dAnGeRrr”. Putting him on a mission closer to the chancellor is so cancerous, and mace even said “I don’t think he can handle it” LOLLL
42:16 the reason why those guys just stand there is because palpatine used force scream which stuns those that hear it. Only windu was able to fully stave it off.
You probably missed it but when Master Windu said he's too dangerous to be left alive, it's what made Anakin think there is no difference between a Jedi and a Sith cause Darth Sidius said the same thing when Anakin killed Dooku
1:09:27 the theory I like is that the way to save someone is by using the life of another, and to save Anakin, The emperor used Padmes life to save him... explains the scene much better too
Palpatine/ Darth Sidious used the knowledge from his master to keep people from dying by keeping Darth Vader alive, he took the life from Padmé using Force Leach and gave it to Vader keeping Vader alive, he then lies to Vader saying that vader killed her this makes Vader hate himself anchoring himself to the dark, his suit also was designed by Palpatine to keep Vader in constant pain diminishing his power so that Vader would never become more powerful than himself and kill him which he eventually does sacrificing himself, destroying both Sith in the process fulfilling the prophecy as Anakin has been light then dark and turned back to light (balance)
@@niccologregorutti Yeah that's something I never understood. I mean yeah Anakin was naive, but not entirely stupid. How is it he could go 20+ years and not realize a life support suit isn't meant to torture you. I mean, even a stunned womprat would have figured it out eventually.
@@AlextheHistorian I think he realised it immediately, also because Anakin is very intelligent in his own way. But whether he knew or not,he was stuck with it anyway,so he was kept alive in an extremely advanced armor that tortured him, thus allowing him to draw more power from his feelings of pain and suffering,so he was fine with it
In the novel, when Mace Windu and company go to arrest the Chancellor, and he spins through the air and cuts down 3 of the Jedi really quick, he's actually using a force ability and is moving EXTREMELY fast (hard to do on film). That's why they didn't put up much of a fight and also why Palps makes that howling noise while spinning through the air. Hope that provides a little more insight :)
This film is seriously underrated. I’ve been watching this film over and over, ever since I was a child, and I’ve analysed it countless times, and I think it’s superb. Sure, it may not be perfect, but it comes pretty dam close. And a lot of the aspects of the film that some people complain about actually make sense if you put them into context. Plus, I think Hayden Christensen gave a spectacular performance.
11:18 Well, General Grevious isn't a droid, he's a cyborg. The only thing that still organically alive his heart, lungs, eyes and brain. He coughs alot because his lungs have been damage by an explosion
Darth Vader didn't know that Padme had given birth, he thinks he killed her and the baby. At Padme's funeral you can see she still has big belly, Obi and Yoda faked that so the siths won't know of the children and won't search them. That's why Luke is safe on Tatooine :)
After finishing off these movies, you guys have to see the Obi-wan Kenobi tv series which takes place 10 years after these events and that stars the same actors. There's also the 7th, 8th, and 9th movies in the saga which take place 30 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith! Also there's Rogue One which takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, which stars an entirely new cast but nonetheless connects a few points between the movies. That's not to mention The Clone Wars series and the spin-off series like Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian. If I could make a recommendation for the order of watching the next several movies and shows based on what I think is the general consensus in the Star Wars community and based on how much you recall from the episodes 4, 5, and 6, the order should be: - Rogue One - Force Awakens (Ep. 7) - The Last Jedi (Ep. 8) - The Rise of Skywalker (Ep. 9) - The Clone Wars (this might take a while and is animated so don't know how you feel about that. It will give you a much more in depth picture of the events that transpired between Episodes 2 and 3, and will also provide much more back story into Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship not to mention Anakin's padawan. This series is great and helps clarify a lot of things that go on in the movies and tv shows) - Obi-Wan Kenobi tv series - The Mandalorian tv series - Book of Boba Fett tv series (If you don't recall, Boba Fett was a minor character that appeared in the original trilogy that didn't necessarily have a huge role but that would grow very popular with the Star Wars fanbase. If you recall, he appeared as a kid in Episode 2 and was the clone son of Jango Fett, the Bounty Hunter in that movie. You don't need to watch the original trilogy necessarily as the show provides enough flashbacks, but it might help.) Also, the prevailing theory as to why Obi-wan let Darth Vader live is that he still saw him as his brother. He had just lost everything he knew at the hands of what he considered to be his closest friend and brother and was just too emotionally broken and couldn't muster up the courage to deliver the final blow as he said to Yoda. On the flip side, he was also incredibly overwhelmed with grief, anger, and heartbreak that Anakin killed so many innocent jedi that he thought letting Anakin burn was deserved. It's understandable as well that given the severity of Vader's injuries that he assumed that he was succumb to his injuries soon after.
When I clicked onto this video. I didn't expect much but just another reaction video with people going ooo ah and being surprised with the story. However, I was wrong, and you guys impressed me with how emotionally invested you were with understanding the characters and predictions for the story. Its the best reaction I have ever seen for anything, and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
First time I watched this when I caught that Sidious said "I have the power to save the one you love" and then as he is giving Anakin his Darth Vader title. He then says "I know we can discover the secret" and then later when he tells him to murder the Jedi and Separatists, I was going "Dude. He is changing his words. He is stringing you along like a person with a string plays with a cat"
Anakin started his life as a slave and after all his accomplishments he finds himself a slave again at the end of this movie, the suit a prison he can't escape from.
Sending Luke to Tatooine is a really smart move, because they know that Darth Vader doesn't want to go back there, partly because of the painful memory of not being able to save his mother, but mostly because he doesn't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
1:11:50 Anakin will not get back to Tatooine: That is the place his mother died, the place where all the sand is, only bad memories. And he has no connection et all with his stepbrother and his financee what so ever. AND: It is keept a secret that Darth Vader was once Anakin SAkywalker.
i think what everyone is missing is that palaptine did know how to stop people from dying. because you see him do it to vader after he comes to rescue him.. its why he started dying in episode 6 when he killed him its probably one the main reasons why he could not turn good again because he knew he was going to die otherwise..
General Grievous was a human turned droid, you can see some human parts still when his chest is opened. Count dooku created him to be a Force sensitive droid who could use 4 lightsabers he planned to use him to overthrow the emperor. Sadly Grievous couldn’t possess the force so that plan never came to pass.
It was confirmed that if obi and Anakin fought on even ground with no way of running Anakin would of won because he’s younger and stronger than obi and obi was getting tired by the end of their duel wasn’t going to be able to hold of vaders assault any longer
ever since i saw you finally started watching the first one i was so exited for you to see this i knew you'd love this ending, explaining everything also i love how you realized that what actually killed padme was anakin himself, cause i know a lot of people dont immediately understand why she died i love this movie especiall cause of the last scenes of obi wan and anakin, seeing them both so hurt, their acting was amazing
Also, my thoughts on them not granting him the rank of master. While yes, I can certainly understand his reaction and why he felt insulted, his reaction was also proof that he isn't nearly mature enough to have earned the title he wants. He chose to look at it as an insult rather than the fact that he's the first ever to be put on the council as just a knight. He was prideful rather than being humble.
fun fact: both Hayden and Ewan made all the fighting sequence by themselves, and they had to slow a bit cause the camera wouldn't catch their movements, lol and about Obi-Wan not killing Anakin, i think he still was acting by his Jedi dogma: Jedis don't kill unarmed enemies, only in the middle of the battle while defending themselves.
It's generally accepted Mace Windu legitimately beat Sidious in lightsaber combat. Sidious's strength comes from his mastery of the Dark Side rather than physical combat, like Windu. The reason why Sidious resorted to using the Force to throw Senate Pods at Yoda was because Yoda disarmed him as well.
You: "I just don't understand why he left him alive." Obi Wan: "I will not kill Anakin." Yoda: "Then we have already lost." Obi Wan: "You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!" Obi Wan didn't kill Anakin because he couldn't bring himself to do it. Should he have killed Anakin? It may have been the smart and strategic thing to do, but he just couldn't do it. Yoda: "Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose." The jedi are supposed to be dispassionate and avoid attachments. They are trained their entire lives to avoid strong emotion at all costs. They are trained like this for this very reason. Obi Wan loved Anakin, and you can see how it cost him. Also, look what it did to Anakin.
The reason the Jedi don’t seem to see the recognize what’s going on is cause the capital city of corasaunt was built on top of a dark side temple. Plus the chancellor is the one started this from the beginning.he’s very powerful. He’s helping to cloud the judgement.
I feel like it’s not spoken about enough but when Anakin ignites his lightsaber when he finds the younglings, instead of the standard Jedi lightsaber ignition it has a slight hiss like other Sith lightsabers. I always liked that little detail
Palatine killed those Jedi so easily, "They just stood there" It's because Palpatine used, a Sith ability that stuns Jedi. That noise he made while twirling through the air.
I highly recommend you guys watch the clone wars series. I think you guys will love and it really nails down the hidden plots between the movies and is important to the overall Star Wars story 👍 great reaction
Palpatine was a master at manipulation. At the same time the Jedi had become arrogant, treating Anakin badly, not trusting him and giving him bad advice. If it wasn’t for Anakin they would have lost many battles but they didn’t give him the recognition.
I agree with you, the Jedi had become too dogmatic, arrogant, and too detached from others. They were also too ‘attached’ to the Republic and the power that it gave them. The truth is that the Jedi Order needed to fall in order for a better one to emerge (Luke’s Jedi Order) in it’s place as seen in Star Wars Legends and Expanded Universe.
I think Obi-Wan let Darth Vader live because he loved Anakin and just couldn't bring himself to do it. Also he may have held out hope that Vader may still eventually fulfill the prophecy despite turning to the Dark Side.
Fun fact about the clone orders: Order 66 was to destroy the Jedi in case if an insurrection or a rogue Jedi...... Order 65 was to dispose of the Supreme Chancellor..... other orders even had genocide in them in case of an emergency
1:17 - "allready at war": there is series called "Star Wars: Clone Wars" (not the one from 2008 but the one from 2003) that explains how we got to this point from Ep. 2 however, that series is no longer canon
In my opinion,, Anakin tried and tried a lot to do the things right... but he always has been excluded... they´re afraid of him but they pulled a lot to the edge...
Telling him that he wouldn't be a master was a test to see how he would react. And he failed by saying it was unfair he would have past if he would have just said ok and did what they said and except it.

To answer the question about the force and Anakin. It took him a while to learn how to use the force with the robotic hand since it was different from his other. There's a book called Brotherhood where he talks about it.
Are you going to react to Daredevil 2nd season?
As to Monica saying she needs to know orders 1-65, the real question to ask is, what is order 67 😀
58:19 this guy gets it.
A lot of people used to ask why anakin was crying in that scene. It’s because he hates himself so much for what he did, the horrors he committed. But he felt he had to do it to save his family.
That’s what makes the story of anakins manipulation by palpatine so tragic.
And because it's not the life he wanted
''I am not blind, Padmé. Though I have tried to be, for Anakin's sake. And for yours. Anakin has loved you since the day you met, in that horrible junk shop on Tatooine. He's never even tried to hide it, though we do not speak of it. We... pretend that I don't know. And I was happy to, because it made him happy. You made him happy, when nothing else ever truly could.''

That’s not really something you should spoil, in case they do decide to watch the show

The tragedy is that if he would have listened to Windu, he would have had everything he wanted. he was asked to wait in the Council Chamber. Upon their return, they were going to make him a Master. He would have had it all, without turning to the dark side.
The thing about that is it a 100% certainty that Windu would have defeated Palpatine?
@@LoveThisRealWoman That's a good point. He only played possum to being beaten by Mace to lure Anakin. But I could only go based on what my eyes see, and he had him beat, before Anakin came into the room.
He wouldn’t have had it all though, so he thought. He only cared about her eventual death, and he had 0 reassurance she would be saved

@@JoshuaBloom01 exactly. Mace Windu's Vaapad is riding the line perfectly, not outright playing both sides.
Yep others who tried learning Vaapad fell to the Dark Side just from trying to use it.
Sidious also used a Sith screech that deafened and stunned them.
The war in the galaxy after the Battle of Geonosis, called the Clone Wars, lasted 3 years and Anakin was one of the most important commanders of the clone army as a Jedi general, which is why he was absent from Coruscant for a long time.
You should watch the animated series: Star Wars the Clone Wars, it's really great, it strongly develops the main characters and many others that we only see in the film through single scenes, including many other jedi, and shows this conflict
and plenty of anachronisms and illogics.

Yes! I'm so glad someone else knows about this
I have always consider the opposite thing...

Here's a different interpretation of the 'Big Picture' of the Star Wars films (episodes I thru VI):
The Force has a will of its own, that is independent of the Jedi, the Sith and everyone else.
(And developed normal human need for attachments?)
- Was it a coincidence that Palpatine is presented with the perfect 'bait' in the form of Anakin - a super-powerful Jedi, with an incredibly strong tie to the Force, yet desperately in need
of a father who will (appear to) love him unconditionally (as Palpatine pretends to), and who is loyal to family in a way that no other Jedi is?
- Does Padme seem like the sort of person who would fall in love with, and then MARRY, a man who had wiped out an entire village of Sandpeople, even as a quasi-act of just revenge?
- When Owen and Luke are about to complete the purchase of C-3PO and the 'other' (red) R2 unit in 'A New Hope,' does that droid 'just happen' to blow a fuze at the right moment?
(so that R2-D2 ends up with Luke?)
If we look at the events through this frame, (of The Force as an Unseen Power, guiding events) then Anakin was clearly born into the universe (and into particular circumstances) to eventually sacrifice himself and to destroy the Sith.
If Vader wouldn't have gotten the suit and his injuries, then what Palpatine said here would have become reality most likely.
palpatine lowkey purposely nurfed him because he could have gotten a way better suit lol
@@pricemaxer9736 indeed. From what I remember reading, the suit not only nurfed him, it also caused him constant pain as well
@@pricemaxer9736 In his crippled state, he was still several degrees more powerful than the surviving Jedi(save Yoda), but he was inevitably far weaker than Palpatine had wanted him to be.
Sort of the “light side” spawning in a child to balance the evil that the Sith were up to
@@zed_1585 This plays into the quote from Snoke; "Dark rises, and light to meet it."
If one side of the Force threatens to consume the other, the Force itself will seemingly spontaneously conjure a being that will be coincidentally perfectly placed and equipped to tip the balance the other way.
Cruel to kill him? It was cruel to leave him there in absolute agony. But I've always seen that as Obi-Wan's last lesson.
As per the novel, he knew Palpatine was coming
This Episode is an intense one.
It makes for an awesome environment to fight in, but also, sending the Separatist leaders to Mustafar was a deliberate move by palpatine, the planets themselves can have strong connections to the force, and Mustafar has a deep connection to the dark side, which helped push Anakin further into corruption.
Fun Facts anakin(Hayden) and obi wan(ewan) did all their stunts and was moving that fast in the lightsaber fight.
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever:
The first dawn of light in your universe brings pain.
Never.
But you remember…
You remember all of it.
You remember the dragon that you brought Vader forth from your heart to slay. You remember the cold venom in Vader’s blood. You remember the furnace of Vader’s fury, and the black hatred of seizing her throat to silence her lying mouth…
And there is one blazing moment in which you finally understand that there was no dragon. That there was no Vader. That there was only you. Only Anakin Skywalker.
That it was all you. Is you.
Only you.
You did it.
You killed her.
You killed her because, finally, when you could have saved her, when you could have gone away with her, when you could have been thinking about her, you were thinking about yourself…
It is in this blazing moment that you finally understand the trap of the dark side, the final cruelty of the Sith -
Because now yourself is all you will ever have.
Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself-
And within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame.
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker.
Forever…
33:58 Greivous is actually organic, the rest is basically a kind of exoskeleton and cybernetics. The reason he coughs so much is because the cybernetics are extremely irritating to his lungs.
He was cheated by Count Dooku into turning into a semi cyborg.
Is the cough not from Mace Windu crushing his lungs? Or is that not cannon? I'm sure there's likely multiple reasons out there, but I believe the end of the original cartoon Clone Wars was the first.
@@sevak5954 its canon
No, Mace Windu crushed half his lungs when he was trying to escape in a previous clone battle
@@sevak5954 that too
That's the thing, right?
That conversation between Palpatine and Anakin is probably some of the best dialogue ever the delivery and execution of those lines were perfect
In the original cartoon Clone Wars (2003-2005), General
Grievous is coughing because as he was kidnapping the Chancellor, Mace Windu shows up and crushes his chest piece with the force and then he gets away. You guys should watch the Cartoon Network Clone Wars, really well
made even though it’s not technically canon anymore.
While technically not canon, a lot of it is referenced and/or kept the same in Clone Wars 2008, which I find great. It's like they did all they could to dance around the 2003 miniseries, managing to keep a few of the greater moments almost intact.
A few examples (disclaimer: I haven't read books or comics, so written material may contradict this):
- The first time Ventress appears (chronologically speaking), she already knows both Obi-Wan and Anakin.
Yes. While I’m canon, Grievous got his cough from his surgery.
But she has not be forgotten and she will never 🥰😍
Hope to see more about (his master) Quinlan Vos soon.

Not brainwashed, dude. They were literally chipped. They had a neural chip implanted in their brains that took over when it was activated.

58:18 I think this scene shows that Anakin is also sad about and struggeling with the choice he made.
That’s what I thought too, but I think SWTheory explained that the shot of him crying:
It’s Anakin, slipping away. The last time we ever see him
Anakin actually wasnt an apprentice anymore.
Fun fact : when obi-wan said " don't try it " he meant the move he did in episode 1 against darth maul.
Obi-Wan is good at chopping people in half

Pretty lucky for even taking down Obi a second time if you ask me…
21:06 People knock the prequels for funny stuff like the acting, plotholes, yeahhh it’s not as iconic as the OG movies, wtvr.
Well done reaction, as a long-time Star Wars fan, watching people go on the Star Wars journey enhances my own journey. Thank you.
1:13:05 Actually on the contrary. Anakin got a really outdated suit that is incredibly painful to wear and that constantly.
His suit is definitely not outdated,it has a lot of implements, however it is indeed designed to torture him constantly and keep him limited
43:55 - "He's too dangerous to be left alive" - Mace Windu.
Same exact thing Palpatine says in the beginning when Anakin is told to kill Dooku.
The Jedi code dictates that you cant kill an unamerd enemy, because of that obi wan didnt kill darth vader
Women retain the big belly for a while after birth. So it's not hard to fake.
If I could make a recommendation for the order of watching the next several movies and shows based on what I think is the general consensus in the Star Wars community and based on how much you recall from the episodes 4, 5, and 6, the order should be:
- Rogue One
- Force Awakens (Ep. 7)
- The Last Jedi (Ep. 8)
- The Rise of Skywalker (Ep. 9)
- The Clone Wars (this might take a while and is animated so don't know how you feel about that. It will give you a much more in depth picture of the events that transpired between Episodes 2 and 3, and will also provide much more back story into Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship not to mention Anakin's padawan. This series is great and helps clarify a lot of things that go on in the movies and tv shows)
- Obi-Wan Kenobi tv series
- The Mandalorian tv series
- Book of Boba Fett tv series (If you don't recall, Boba Fett was a minor character that appeared in the original trilogy that didn't necessarily have a huge role but that would grow very popular with the Star Wars fanbase. If you recall, he appeared as a kid in Episode 2 and was the clone son of Jango Fett, the Bounty Hunter in that movie. You don't need to watch the original trilogy necessarily as the show provides enough flashbacks, but it might help.)
Also, the prevailing theory as to why Obi-wan let Darth Vader live is that he still saw him as his brother.
1:10:05 if you listen VERY closely, you could hear anakin say ''Padme help me'' before the mask gets put on
Sending Luke to Tatooine is a really smart move, because they know that Darth Vader doesn't want to go back there, partly because of the painful memory of not being able to save his mother, but mostly because he doesn't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Who knows about the dislike of sand though?
@@Muck006 Obi wan lived 13 years with him, I’m pretty sure he heard about it until he got sick !
The glass breaking was the turning point of the entire movie
i think what everyone is missing is that palaptine did know how to stop people from dying. because you see him do it to vader after he comes to rescue him.. its why he started dying in episode 6 when he killed him its probably one the main reasons why he could not turn good again because he knew he was going to die otherwise..
Grievous was not human, he was a Kaleesh
It was confirmed that if obi and Anakin fought on even ground with no way of running Anakin would of won because he’s younger and stronger than obi and obi was getting tired by the end of their duel wasn’t going to be able to hold of vaders assault any longer
ever since i saw you finally started watching the first one i was so exited for you to see this
i knew you'd love this ending, explaining everything
also i love how you realized that what actually killed padme was anakin himself, cause i know a lot of people dont immediately understand why she died
i love this movie especiall cause of the last scenes of obi wan and anakin, seeing them both so hurt, their acting was amazing
He was prideful rather than being humble.
fun fact: both Hayden and Ewan made all the fighting sequence by themselves, and they had to slow a bit cause the camera wouldn't catch their movements, lol
and about Obi-Wan not killing Anakin, i think he still was acting by his Jedi dogma: Jedis don't kill unarmed enemies, only in the middle of the battle while defending themselves.
Generally accepted by nerd dorks.
@@thereisnopandemicIt is generally accepted because George Lucas himself said so.
You: "I just don't understand why he left him alive." Obi Wan: "I will not kill Anakin." Yoda: "Then we have already lost." Obi Wan: "You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!"
Obi Wan didn't kill Anakin because he couldn't bring himself to do it.
I love how each character has their own song. George Lucas is an amazing story teller. One of his best moves was John Williams to compose the music
Palatine killed those Jedi so easily, "They just stood there"
It's because Palpatine used, a Sith ability that stuns Jedi. That noise he made while twirling through the air.
I highly recommend you guys watch the clone wars series. I think you guys will love and it really nails down the hidden plots between the movies and is important to the overall Star Wars story 👍 great reaction
This was incredibly thorough. Both of you did a hell of a job.
35:20 "You fool, I've been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku"
What Obi should've said:
"Well I trained the Jedi who killed Count Dooku"
The emperor put this ,, dreams“ in Anakins mind
You guys really communicate well. That’s amazing 😂
Yall definitely should check out Rogue One(2016). It's a great side film that ties into the original trilogy perfectly.
1:17 - "allready at war": there is series called "Star Wars: Clone Wars" (not the one from 2008 but the one from 2003) that explains how we got to this point from Ep. 2
however, that series is no longer canon
In my opinion,, Anakin tried and tried a lot to do the things right... but he always has been excluded... they´re afraid of him but they pulled a lot to the edge...
Telling him that he wouldn't be a master was a test to see how he would react. And he failed by saying it was unfair he would have past if he would have just said ok and did what they said and except it.
