40:26 When Strange did that "look into all possible futures" thing, it was NOT just a quick thing. In those seconds to the people around him, Strange didn't just look a win/lose list to find which strategy worked. To find the one winning timeline, he had to use the Time Stone to ACTUALLY LIVE ALL 14,000,605 POSSIBLE TIMELINES until he lived the one where they win. Doctor Strange just LIVED roughly 588 MILLION YEARS (using Cumberbatch's real-life age of ~42-years-old in this movie as a reference). And even if he only viewed the timeline from the present moment to the future where they won, that's still 70 million years he experienced in those ~10 seconds.
Can't believe we're here, I remember how Monica was rolling her eyes when you said that there's 20 something movies in the MCU. And of course she's now as invested as anyone, just like what happened with HP as well :D Thanks for the content and as always, stay healthy Rico
I love that Tony making Thanos bleed was a direct reference to Iron Man 2 when Ivan Vanko said "If you can make god bleed, people will cease to believe in him." I think that Tony getting even 1 drop of blood from Thanos made him realize that it could be possible to win.
the look on Quill’s face when Thor tells them Thanos decimated Xandar is just heartbreaking… after all the guardians went through to save Xandar in the first movie, and then they find that out… i was just 😢
Actually, Rico was kinda right. In this movie, Thanos is basically the main character; it is his story. It's his ascension to triumph (which is rightfully his because the theme of this movie is sacrifice, and Thanos was the most willing to sacrifice everything to bring to pass what he thinks is good, giving light to his own words "The hardest choices require the strongest wills.") The Avengers lost because they weren't willing to trade lives (sacrifice) for the common good, they still lack that "strong will". They're still yet to learn that in order to win, sacrifice is necessary.
Actually in the proper infinity stories the main character apart from Thanos is of course Adam Warlock who marvel should have introduced before they made this film and where was Mephisto!!!
Mhmm, 100% right. The avengers have become too used to Cap’s optimistic view of always coming out of things together. It’s prob just a side effect of Cap being their leader but Cap was optimistic to a fault and continuously pushed the “don’t trade lives” thing. And then his choice in civil war was the reason why they were so divided in their fight…😮💨 In the end, they weren’t prepared to make the tough decisions to sacrifice. Which is understandable bc they’re just human but, that doesn’t change the fact they were their own downfall (in the grand scheme of things)
Roger Ebert said that movies are empathy machines. They’re designed so that you empathise with the characters and their stories. Most MCU films have happy endings and that’s all well and good, but it can’t prepare you for the important stuff. Movies like Infinity War, where A LOT of sad/emotional stuff happens, are good for the soul. Films that deal with sadness, emotion and grief can be very cathartic. They can help you process your feelings and help you come to terms with whatever you’ve got going on in your life. Have you ever watched Pixar’s Inside Out? That film basically teaches us that emotions like sadness can occasionally help us work things out. This is why films like this are some of my favourites in the series.
I love how Thanos only referred to Tony by a name. Thanos is by all means against unnecessary killing, but before Dr. Strange gave the time stone, Thanos was going to kill him. That just shows how much respect and how much of a threat Tony was.
@@mechanomics2649 and the fact that Asgard is Asgard as he specifically mentions them as Asgardians. I mean he literally reached out to Loki in the first place.
@@Cream-2128 Do we know that? We know Loki went spinning-off into the void, and then showed-up leading the Chitauri. How he and Thanos crossed paths between those moments is, I think, still unknown. I could be wrong.
@@Cream-2128 Sure, but they're, like, gods, and as such travel all over creation doing tremendous deeds? Stark is not, and does not. Tony had never even left Earth, except for that brief jaunt through the worm-hole.

the 2 scenes with Peter and Tony, and Wanda and Vision at the end were improvised. The actors were given a rough layout of the scene but just did what felt natural, which in my opinion makes the deaths so much sadder. and just so you know, Spidey's death was even sadder because his Spider Sense could tell something was wrong, Peter felt well before anyone else that he was dying and it terrified him 10x more.
1:03:22 You are absolutely right because he never used it a single time. He used Power & Space and Reality once. Really his most used stones are the first two he got which are the Power and Space. As soon as he got those two he was unstoppable.
So many up and down emotions with this movie. Thor entering Wakanda was epic! When Peter said “Please, I don’t want to go” that killed me. Think that was the part that broke everyone in the theater. You guys do good reactions. I enjoyed watching Monica 1) figure out some things before they happened and 2) come around to liking Marvel.
The saddest part of that scene was Peter attempting to gather himself for Tony, and then looking him in the eyes and apologizing. Before, you just thought he was a kid begging for his life, which is sad enough. But at that moment, you realize Peter wasn't begging for himself, at least not entirely; he was begging to stay because he still felt, despite everything he'd done, that he hadn't done enough. Understanding that, your heart breaks all over again.
I love how we learn that Thanos has a heart when he sacrifices Gamora you can say "he was crying to play up the act" but I don't think he can trick the magic of the soul stone. He feels the pain of losing his child, but he's too far gone to stop himself
Even though it's never explicitly stated in the movies, I always thought of the Soul Stone controlling life and death. The reason it tests you is so you "understand its power." You have to understand what it means to lose what you love before you have the power to make others feel that pain as well.
yep.. infinite power over life and death in the universe.. you can even move souls about into different bodies or occupy someone else. you temporally see the soul stone rip dr stranges soul from his body during the fight on titan.. that stone is incredibly scary as you can kill anyone you want instantly. So many people fail to understand just how powerful the stones are and how much thanos is holding back.. the fact that the glove was burned to a crisp when he turned half the universe to dust is nothing but a glimpse of their true power. they called infinity stones for a reason.. absolute infinite power.
That’s a pretty cool concept, that now that I think about it, has me wishing it was true for all the stones. Like imagine in order to get the time stone you have to lose time, maybe in your life so your lifespan is shorter than what it would’ve been. Power stone, if you have strength, you lose it etc. Though I don’t think that would work with Thanos.
I remember watching this in the cinemas and it completely broke me afterwards. This was one of the best movies I've watched all my life and you have no idea how nice it was to see the different groups come together! It has really been such an emotional rollercoaster and it's so great to see you both enjoying it too!! I'm so glad that you both embarked on this MCU journey! It has really been so long and trust me, there will be more to come! I hope you two will enjoy the upcoming films and TV series too!
41:00 The floating guy in Vormir was the Red Skull (the bad guy from the first Cap). He was vanished by the tesseract to Vormir and he became the protector of the Soul stone
Monica talking about how much ScarJo was sexualized early on is spot on. She has even commented recently about how she hates how she was portrayed in Iron Man 2 and is thankful she’s at a better place in her career where she can stand up for/not take roles she doesn’t want. Marvel thankfully changed with the times
Bullshit. The men gets as much sexualized as the female. They just don’t whine about it . ScarJo has been using her beauty and sexuality to get by in Hollywood forever. Funny how now that she is older and not so sought after is she complaining about female sexuality in movies. Virtue signaling if you ask me
@@EnglishUbermensch You're assigning an awful lot of intent with very little evidence lmao It's possible that the reason Scar Jo got into those particular movies is because her sexuality and beauty would sell, rather than her seeking to do so. Hollywood has rather famously not treated women very well. As for the sexualization of men, that is more often to appeal to the idolization of other men more than it's meant for women. I'll bet if we asked you, any one with promoting progressive ideals is virtue signaling. Dismissing everything as such, without taking even a moment to explore it, does nothing but show your ass.
@@mechanomics2649 fuck off with that men’s gaze shite. That’s just a lack of accountability put on women sexuality and is awful sexist to women if you ask me. A lot of women are and will forever be attracted to manly men the same way a lot of men will be attracted to feminine and curvy beautiful women. Women are not a monolith. A good chunk of women drool over the Chris Evans and Jason Momoa of the world because of their appearance. And it’s is fucking okay because it is their desire which makes them human. Stop shaming sexuality in people if they are not forcing it on others! She doesn’t have to do the sexy movies or take the sexy roles! That’s her growth. But it is pretty hypocritical to shame the industry that made you famous just because your time is past fuck off and enjoy your privilege.
The MCU never gives an explanation of the soul stone, but in the comics it gives the bearer control over the living and dead souls around them & when used in conjunction with the other stones it can grant control over all souls in the universe.
Monica’s comments about sacrifice are spot on. The Avengers lost because they weren’t willing to make the necessary sacrifices. Thanos was, and that is why he won. It really is as simple as that.
You will never know the pain of having to wait an entire YEAR after this movie to see the conclusion. The theories, speculation, and hype around Endgame was once in a lifetime. On to Captain Marvel, Ant Man and the Wasp, Endgame and Far From Home to finish off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And then it turned out that all of those but Far From Home were bad or trash. Endgame was the deathblow for the MCU, and the Disney+ shows set torched the good legacy of the previous movies.
@@aasamspb967 It's more sad than anything. Captain Marvel, aside from featuring the most unlikeable protagonist in the MCU, retconned a ton of things, second Ant Man movie made him obsolete, since Wasp is just him but better, and Endgame made time travelling so easy, the question going forward will be "why isn't this a solution to everything", in addition to gutting character arcs (Drax having nothing to do with killing Thanos, despite it being his driving goal post GOG1, Gamora getting three movies worth of character development stripped from her, Black Widow not being revived, despite it being obvious that it can be done). And then you move onto Disney+ shows, and the damage is catastrophic. I'll just sum up the single biggest point of damage for each show. WandaVision - Wanda is now a remorseless psychopath, since she tortured an entire town for her own selfish gain and damn well knew about it. Falcon and WS - Falcon is now a moron and a terrorist supporter, and the show did nothing but racebait the "oh what does it mean for a black man to be Captain America", WHEN RHODEY WAS THE IRON PATRIOT AS FAR BACK AS Iron Man 3. Big fucking whoop. And Loki, oh boy - Everything up to this point has been predetermined by an omnipresent clown, so that instantly destroys every single character in the MCU, since none of them made any decisions in the first place. And that's just the one big thing, the entire show is riddled with garbage.
@@vitalyklimenchuk8392 I mean it has it's flaws but not bad as you say. They cannot make everyone happy. For how long can they use the same actors. They have to exit from the franchise at a particular time, right. They have a big universe to manage. Give them a break.
@@aasamspb967 Endgame is a good finale, but largely due to the great buildup of the previous movies. The great culmination of so many storylines overshadows the many flaws present in the story, such as the time travel mechanics being inconsistent. I didn't doubt the MCU could do well post-endgame until I saw the lineup of planned movies and the atrocious writing of the shows. Endgame is a fitting end to the franchise, because I seriously doubt the MCU can reach their former heights of quality storytelling now.
I love how Monica's after movie thoughts are just basically like "come on, shut up, I don't give a damn! I hate everything right now! Just stop it already! NO!" She is just so done with everything!
my favorite part of this movie is Wanda's strength at the end, destroying an infinity stone and holding off Thanos at the same time, by herself. actually incredible! the consequences of that moment are erased immediately, but as a moment, there is nothing more powerful.
@@yusuferen793 It was more so catching Thanos off guard, which is his primary weakness, Ultron cuts Thanos in half in What-If, and Tony lands an entire building on him on Titan. So it only gives Thanos time to say "Random bullshit go!"
I'm quite shocked that Monica didn't cry watching this movie, cause that time people were sobbing like hell in movie theaters with Gamora's death and with every single character dying at the end, maybe it's because you already know that there's a next one coming up but like Rico said, we didnt know back then so this movie is by far Marvel's most shocking plot twist so far and i'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
M’Baku said “of course brother” to Black Panther at the beginning of the wakanda battle. He just said it in Wakandan. TBH groot was a real MVP in this movie when he made the handle to Thor’s axe. It really shows that he really does care and wants to help.

I remember how I was so powered up for the movie, got a first day first show ticket only to cry at first 10min and sob at end of the movie. one of the bittersweet experience
Not sure if you guys realized it but the red Grim Reaper looking character that led Thanos and Gamora to the Soul Stone was Captain America’s original arch enemy, The Red Skull.
I love how they made Thanos seem like in his thought process that he was doing a deed or a favor for any kinds of population in any galaxy society by wiping them out would be seen as fair as resource-wise or population wise which what the writers would make you think that it’s wrong but when you reflect on it, you instantly find out that he’s right because his line “Hardest choices require the strongest will” which then you learn the meaning of what he says and how he is an example of that when you watch the end of IW which is probably my most fav part ever in the movie
Honestly iv'e never officially known what the Soul Stone was either, but i kind of just took it by name and imagined it "controlled" all the souls in the universe. which is what made it so powerful when mixed with the other stones
To use it, you basically connect to any life form that has a soul. So you can tape in everyone if you will. If you looked closely in the fight between Thanos and Strange when he multiplied himself, he used the soul stone to find which of him is the real him. Also to use the snap, it is basically again used to connect every living being and chose half of the population to blip
It's easy to say, Wanda just do it, but she lost her parents and brother all in short order all in the worst possible way. You gotta take into consideration what that does to ones pysche when it comes to people they care about the most.
Finally, I found a comment that understands how I feel completely. That comment she made was very ignorant and inconsiderate. Yes, the entire world is in danger and is the most important to save overall.. but when you love someone so deeply, you can't just push those feelings down as if they mean nothing because there are other things going on. If I was Wanda, if I could, I'd take Vision somewhere Thanos would never find us, not caring if everyone else perishes. Because if it's just us alone, safe and happy, I wouldn't care about anyone else. That might be heartless, but it's true. She lost everyone she ever cared about, and at first, she was the one who had to ki*l Vision, who still told her it was alright and that he loved her.. The world may be important, but so is her love for Vision. In the end, she still did it knowing how it would affect her. She pushed her feelings for Vision aside to try and save everyone else because it was the right thing to do, but not because she wanted to, but because Vision gave her permission to since he knew it was the only way. It just annoys me that Monica is so heartless in this video to not understand that.
@@gku2522 I see why people say it’s the worst, and tbh I watched it for the first time at the weekend and honestly I didn’t think it was that bad. But I can see why people have their reasons.
When people say they [Marvel and comics] "sexualize women", they IGNORE the fact that EVERY male character has had their shirts off in EVERY movies and they are always in tight costumes. It's not just the women. Comic characters are just hyperstylized.
You want foreshadowing....Go back to Avengers Age of Ultron, when Tony is talking to Cap trying to explain why he created a murder bot (Ultron). He (Tony) points the sky and says "That's the Endgame"! 7 movie foreshadowing!!!
They actually do win in three. This was revealed in Doctor Strange 2. In one universe Secret Avenger wins. In another Doctor Strange (evil Strange) and in the third, the glitchy MCU by Stark's sacrifice which is an alternate timeline originally won by Secret Avenger.

Tons of movies end like that. The Empire Strikes Back, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Fight Club, The Dark Night, Primal Fear, No Country for Old Men, Saw, Arlington Road, Fallen, Gone Girl....you need to watch more movies.
Everyone reacts the same after watching Thanos handling the Incredible Punching Bag. Yeah Hulk is all about rage and brute strength while Thanos is all about skills and precision.
But what I hate the most, is that they made Hulk look like a punk throughout the whole movie. Yeah, Thanos being his equal in strength was a good surprise for Hulk, but not letting throw at least one punch in IW against Thanos made him look bad IMO. And even if they didn’t want to use Hulk, they could’ve done something else, like have one of Thanos minions put a spell on him that made him not turn into Hulk.
Watching this in the movie's opening weekend packed theatre. Dead silence dead silence at the end. It was such a one in a lifetime experience. People were gobsmacked at the ending. Thor's entrance in Wakanda had everyone losing their mind and actually had us believing someone could stop Thanos.

The fact that Peter Quill was supposed to destroy the plan will always hurt. From what we saw in gotg 2 we know that he won't hesitate to harm the ones who hurt his loved ones. That's why he didn't hesitate to shoot Ego and punched Thanos in this. If it went any other way they WOULDN'T HAVE WON! It hurts so much bruh.... Just like Wanda managing to destroy the stone or Thor not going for the head.
Your comments are spot on! Old comic book heads like myself, sometimes take issue with movie adaptations. The movies are ok, but they lose soooooo much in translation. The things you alluded to are almost exact copies of the original comic book Infinity Gauntlet story. Multiple characters had a chance at stopping Thanos, but it was their own character flaws that derailed their attempts. In fact, this was one of the MAIN points of the story, so I'm REALLY glad they put it in the movie. So many adaptations fail at this
@@leonardolonghi3472 There's just no way that in that moment any of them couldve sliced his head off and 1 out of 14 million? That's it? With Thor, Iron Man, Strange, Quill... like nah that shit dont make sense.
Hiya you two! Since you asked here's an answer for what the Soul Stone does! The Soul Stone has the ability to manipulate and control the soul, as well as the essence that makes up an individual. It has the ability to resurrect and conjure the spiritual representation of the people who are dead. So basically low level necromancy
When you were talking about where Scott was, him and Clint (Hawkeye if you don’t remember his first name) we’re on house arrest for 2 years and didn’t go on the run with Cap and the others. Scott and Clint have families and I don’t think they wanted to abandon that, also they probably didn’t know about Thanos or anyone else, keep in mind, this entire movie took place from within 12-24 hours (I believe, it could be different, but from what I can tell that’s what it is), so there wasn’t much time for them to meet up with everyone anyways, even if they did know. Also you’ll see what Scott is up to in the next movie prior to the snap 😁. Loved the reaction as always!
Monica, I hear you on how you prefer Black Widow/Natasha to not be szxualized, but sxzualization is the whole point of her character. It's actually why she's called Black Widow. Natasha (in her villian/anti-hero days) would use her szxual prowess to seduce men, in order to gain intel or other advantages. Black Widow herself, is based off of the classic Femme Fatale character archetype (and, of course, the Black Widow Spider). Black Widow is supposed to be szxualized... that's why she's called Black Widow. However, I have to agree in you in many other circumstances though... if it's not for the sake of characterization (or even then, if it's over the top) it can be quite irritating. But it must go both ways: you can't criticize sxzualization of female characters, but want to swoon when a male character is shirtless (after Cap is given the serum... just sayin). It must go both ways.
The soul stone is arguably the most powerful of all as it has the ability to manipulate any soul. It could even be used in the comics to resurrect the dead.
Well for powers of stones. Power stone has infinite power and it also increases the power of other infinity stones. Space stone can be used for travel and to every sort of thing in space. In comics a character uses it to become a Speedster that runs in space. Reality stone changes the reality. Mind stone has infinite knowledge and it can take control of mind as shown in Avengers. Time stone takes the power of time. Soul stone has power over dead people or you can say soul. If I remember Adam bardock has that stone like vision on his head. Remember the golden people. They will create/are creating Adam. They should in the post cradit scene
It's not infinite, If it was he would have never been defeated or whoever used the stones. The inifuty gauntlet dont make the user have infinite power he wont be like the one above all level. The only thing that can at least make you second to god at least in terms of power is the heart of the universe that would make anyone op
I think you’re misunderstanding something. To get the soul stone, you must sacrifice that which you love. What you’re saying is that because she was mocking him, it made him not care to do it, but in reality, her words didn’t matter at that point. Because he loved her so much that is the reason he COULD get the stone. If he didn’t love her, then the sacrifice would’ve meant nothing.
Exactly. Like, that was so obvious, yet she was certain she was right. If Gamora argued and that made Thanos mad, him throwing her off would've done absolutely nothing.. because in her logic, that would mean he didn't love her and did it out spite, Which is not at all how it works. Like you said, her words didn't matter because he was going to do it regardless of her speaking up or not. Once he knew what had to be done, that was it. She thinks that if Gamora stayed quiet, he would've had second thoughts. But that goes to show how little she has payed attention to Thanos' character.

This is the big one. I love this film, my favorite MCU film for sure. I mean 10 minutes in I see Hulk beaten, Heimdall and Loki dead? Incredible music? 2/6 stones are with Thanos? I knew this film was gonna be different. The narrative structure of this film is relentless and it's great. You feel the tension of what it will take to stop him, every character going through their story arcs...And Thanos shuts it down. He shuts down every single character arc before it can finish, always getting his way. The stones are cheat codes that let him subvert storytelling itself to get a win. It's just insanely well-written. I will always love this ride. I knew more was to come, I knew it couldn't end here...But waiting a year for the resolution? What a year that was.
I haven't rewatched Infinity war in a long time it really still holds up ,Thanos is an amazing character with real motivations I have noticed how this is movie really focuses on Tony and Thor's arcs and I must say I realllly love Dr.Strange in this movie, it was a nice experience watching it with you guys... :)

Actually, Rico was kinda right. In this movie, Thanos is basically the main character; it is his story. It's his ascension to triumph (which is rightfully his because the theme of this movie is sacrifice, and Thanos was the most willing to sacrifice everything to bring to pass what he thinks is good, giving light to his own words "The hardest choices require the strongest wills.")
The Avengers lost because they weren't willing to trade lives (sacrifice) for the common good, they still lack that "strong will". They're still yet to learn that in order to win, sacrifice is necessary.
I mean, the avengers DID trade lives anyways and lost anyways... Thanos won because the stupid plot fucking let him lol
@@insertnamehere2746 realistically who could’ve have stopped him once he got 4 stones, strange failed because he knew it was the only way to win

Mhmm, 100% right. The avengers have become too used to Cap’s optimistic view of always coming out of things together. It’s prob just a side effect of Cap being their leader but Cap was optimistic to a fault and continuously pushed the “don’t trade lives” thing. And then his choice in civil war was the reason why they were so divided in their fight…😮💨
In the end, they weren’t prepared to make the tough decisions to sacrifice.

You guys do good reactions. I enjoyed watching Monica 1) figure out some things before they happened and 2) come around to liking Marvel.
Man that scene with peter was easily saddest moment in the mcu imo
The saddest part of that scene was Peter attempting to gather himself for Tony, and then looking him in the eyes and apologizing. Before, you just thought he was a kid begging for his life, which is sad enough. But at that moment, you realize Peter wasn't begging for himself, at least not entirely; he was begging to stay because he still felt, despite everything he'd done, that he hadn't done enough. Understanding that, your heart breaks all over again.
Thor In wakanda still gives chills😂
So technically, he could just use it to bring back gamora and vision with it instead of the time stone?

Marvel thankfully changed with the times
Bullshit. The men gets as much sexualized as the female. They just don’t whine about it . ScarJo has been using her beauty and sexuality to get by in Hollywood forever.
@@vitalyklimenchuk8392 haters gonna hate

49:53, the Rico wide eye, when she throws out ANOTHER, accurate prediction: twice! LOL
“Are you gonna rub your hands?” I had to pause because I was losing it! 😂💀
The soul stone is arguably the most powerful of all as it has the ability to manipulate any soul. It could even be used in the comics to resurrect the dead.
Ey just wanted to say, its nice seeing your channel grow. I remember when you only had 5K subscribers
i like how loki was "you will never be a god" and the last line by cap was simply "oh god" in response to the snap. basically he did become one.
Mans been working on the channel like crazy recently! Nothing but appreciation bud!
@@Dr.HooWho i am talking about comics not the MCU.
I love that we can find people who enjoy this as much as we do, great video ❤️
I've seen your reactions for third time now, I just love your reactions and comments during the movies.
Also the fact that there are subtitles makes It better for me to improve my english due to the fact that i'm spanish, so i just wanna thank you guys.
LOVE from Spain❤️
Yeah it's just too bad that they nerfed Thanos though. He's far more powerful than portrayed in these movies. Especially with the infinity stones.
Nah endgame is clear and I standby that
21:38 lol "pigeon's back, everyone's back" lol 😅😆😆🤣
I haven't rewatched Infinity war in a long time it really still holds up ,Thanos is an amazing character with real motivations I have noticed how this is movie really focuses on Tony and Thor's arcs and I must say I realllly love Dr.Strange in this movie, it was a nice experience watching it with you guys... :)
Not sure if you had any reaction whatsoever yo Red Skull because it was cut out and neither of you had any reaction to his reveal.
But yes, that was Red Skull from the first Captain America movie, the leader of Hydra.
The Soul Stone has the ability to manipulate the soul, the essence that makes up an individual, and has the ability to resurrect and conjure the spiritual representation of the people who are dead.
You kinda get the understanding a bit in Wanda Vision. (On Disney +)
You two are the most beautiful and likeable couple, always smiling and I love the commentary
This is sooo nice of you, thank you soo much for this comment, brought a smile to my face, also welcome to the family
I’ve really enjoyed your reactions to these movies. You and Monica have a fun chemistry when reacting to these, and it makes for a fun watch.
It still gives me goosebumps
Can't believe it was 3 years ago
Forgot how intense and stressful this movie could get😂😭👨🏾🦯
My head was brusting.. Hearing the talks
49:53 the look on your face when she said "Is this how this ends, they all die?" Pure gold.
