72-289 Sections of Vana Parva, the story of Sri Rama was narrated to Yuddhistara by Sage Markandeya. Though the story contains minor variations compared to the story told in the Srimad Ramayana, those episodes describe the story of Sri Rama in full.
However, the sage Markandeya ends the story of Sri Rama in 289 Section of Vana Parva of Mahabharata with the coronation of Sri Rama as the king of Kosala Kingdom. No mention was made therein the story of UTTARA KANDA !

The purpose is to protect something going against natural practices. Sutra is not caste but varna. This will lead to people criss cross with others duties and failing to get social benefits for the people welfare. Truly rama considered people as above his love life family and all. Being a king, his ethics is people welfare, people acceptance ..etc. he has won emotions and committed to his words, deeds and ethics of raja. Same way Krishna established dharma after long time of wait which leads to kandhari curse that ruined his people. Our sanadhanam is amazing and certain comments doesn't understand it. Bhagawan Krishna says "I am Bhagawan". But Rama has never said he is a Bhagawan. He behaves like a man even though he has taken Avatar. But in reality he is a God.

Only father's lineage was considered for deciding varnas. Valmiki' ancestory was not mentioned in Ramayana. From other sources it is understood that he was a brahmin. So probably because of that he was allowed to do tapas. Though Vyasa's mother was from fisherman family( her whereabout were not detailed in Mahabharata but Harivamsa and others say that she was a daughter of a king and an apsara turned to fish abd that is why she had fishy smell). Anyway Vyasa's father was Rishi Parashara so he was a brahmin . ( In those days most of the rishis married daughters of kings but their sons also became Rishi only). Also one brother would be a brahmin and another would be a kshatriya king as varnas were based on Gunas than birth in those days..

ஐயா ஶ்ரீ தர் ! ஏன் ஐயா உருட்டுகிறீர்? பெரியோர்கள் உத்தர காண்டம் வால்மீகி எழுதியது அல்ல என்று சொன்னது சமாதான மொழியா ? ஏன் ஐயா ? பெரியோர்கள் சொல்வதில் உமக்கு என்ன ஐயம்?
கம்பனே உத்தர காண்டத்தைப் புறக்கணித்தான். பிற மொழியைச் சார்ந்த ராம பக்தர்கள் அதாவது துளசி தாசர் போன்றவர்கள் "உத்தர காண்டம்" என்ற பெயரில் தூய்மையான கதைகளையே எழுதினர். வடமொழி ராமாயணத்தில் உள்ள உத்தர காண்டக் கதைகளை துளசிதாசர் அப்படியே எழுதவில்லை.
"உத்தர காண்டம் என்னும் ராமாயணத்தின் கடைசிப் பகுதி வால்மீகி மகரிஷியால் இயற்றப் பெற்றது அன்று. யார் யாரோ கூடிக் கதம்பம் போன்று அதை அமைத்து வைத்திருக்கின்றனர். தெய்வீக மகிமை வாய்க்கப் பெறாத பகுதிகள் பல இதில் இடம் பெற்று இருக்கின்றன. அவை யாவும் வாசிப்பவர்கள் உள்ளத்தில் பக்தியை ஊட்டுபவை ஆக மாட்டா. மாற்ற முடியாத வினைப்பயன், படைத்தவனது தீர்மானத்தில் வல்லமை, ஜோதிடம், சாதி வேற்றுமை, புரோகித தந்திரம், நரபலி போன்ற பொருத்தமற்ற கோட்பாடுகளும் கொள்கைகளும் இதில் புதைந்து கிடக்கின்றன."

சம்பூக வதம் நிகழ்ந்ததற்குக் காரணம் வேறு. சம்பூகன் சூத்திரன் அல்ல அசுரன். வால்மீகி, சபரி முதலானோர் சூத்திரர்களே. அவர்கள் எங்ஙனம் தவம் செய்தார்கள்? தவம் செய்து எப்படி உயிரோடு இருந்தார்கள்?
மூட நம்பிக்கை நிரம்பிய உத்தர காண்டம் வால்மீகி எழுதியது அன்று. வால்மீகி ராமாயணமும் கம்பர் இயற்றிய இராம காதையும் உண்மையில் யுத்த காண்டத்தோடு நிறைவடைகிறது.

When you clearly say that he did tapas with no harmful intention, it is completely wrong to kill him. If such law exists and a god like figure Rama executes it, then I completely agree with questions from people like periyarists, even though I’m a theist. If you say my religion had followed such irrational customs , I would definitely question that.

there were many bad nimittas (indications o happenings) at that time. young people mysteriously died without any reason. the father of that boy came to bhagavan Rama and said that this akaala mrutyu (untimely death) is due to some serious adharma that is happening in his kingdom.
So bhagavan went around his kingdom in pushpaka vimana. He happened to see shambhuka hanging upside down from a tree doing penance.
bhagavan saw that, and then he killed him.
now a question will come, why not leave him, if he was doing some penance, why should be kill him for that? seems to be a valid reason, isnt it?
now, shambhuka had already obtained a boon from divine mother Uma, that he wud live for a long time/ one kalpa period, which is basically 1000 chatur yogas.
sri madhwacharya in mahabharata tatparya nirnaya grantha, says about shambhuka that he was an asura and he got this boon from Mother Uma to live for a kalpa kaala.
why he asked for this boon? bcoz he wanted to do penance to go to swarga loka (heaven) with this human body and to get the position of sri Indra with this shareera / body.
he also wanted to rule over the Indra loka. we cant go to other lokas with this human body.
his penance was also to go to kailasa (shiva loka) and to lord over there.
these were against natural laws of divine and there were bad intentions...the goal of his tapas was wrong.
hence, bhagavan raama killed him. and after killing shambhuka , that teenage boy came back to life and devas offered flowers (pushpa vrishti) on bhagavan.
bhagavan was so loving towards sabhari, guha (who were of shudhra varna), and he killed ravana, who was a brahamana & also killed thadaka, who was a asuric female.
bhagavan rama protected the righteous and punished evil forces.
if some one secretly does some nuclear bomb testing / some anti social activities or some illegal activities in a secret area or a forest, will the govt allow that? will such people not be punished or executed?
the same approach here too.
hence, bhagavan rama executed shambhuka for the above mentioned reasons.

@@anti-manu suicide not allowed in hinduism but mercy killing is allowed ...when one feels he has very painful disease or body can't bear the pain he can do lrayopravesam or fast to death...gandhiji followed this to achieve independence.......this mercy killing is absent in other religions like Islam so humans has to suffer and pain...so this is best by hinduism ......but sri ram was not suicide because it is Avatar of Vishnu hope u understand ....
