Long tubes headers with dual 2 inch exhaust pipes that run all the way back over the axle, then collect in a 6" axle dump pipe thats about 12" long will make any V8 sound insane. Did it to my cammed '85 D150 318ci. Was the best sound I've ever heard in my life
Bro the car really sounds awesome! Loved the take off and then the drive by. But three things. You kept referring to the 45° bends coming off the 3" collectors as Y pipes. Y pipes are found on single exhaust and are 2 pipes merging into 1, forming the shape of a Y. The bolt holes you for the exhaust hangers are not for the seats, those are the bolt holes for the front seatbelts. The clamps are called band clamps, not C clamps. I'm just a stickler for saying what you mean and meaning what you say. Little advice, leave the band clamps at the collectors and weld up the rest of exhaust. So you can easily remove the exhaust in the future. In case of future modifications like the torque arm and drive shaft.
Sounds good. I bought the full length Speed Engineering duals that come out the back. Just a tip, if you angle your turndowns out 45 degrees, instead of straight down at the pavement, it will cut down on vibration and drone.
@@kskip4242 I have this kit on my ws6 it was on when I bought it. I love the way it sounds but am considering chopping the tips off and running pipe out the back to some true duals.
@@HOSSgarage will do! It's been backordered till 11/27 so it'll be little while. Also had to get the upper panhard relocation kit to make room over the axle
If you install it semi tight and then lift it up with a jack and crank it down full bore it dont hang low, idk about the axel dumps but the full rear exit kit has no clearance issues, I recommend getting new poly motor mounts, it will lift the engine up a good amount, the factory mounts sag to much

@@HOSSgarage yea man I love it! Cant wait to see that new setup. I have a stock system on my 97 z28 I'm looking into what I want to get .that is a simple setup sounds good and no need for welding and good price what more could you ask
This exhaust is probably the best sounding exhaust you can find. BUT- the drone is the worst in the market. Second, the exhaust fumes DO enter the cab. Especially on long trips.
I put the Speed Engineering Bumper-exit true duals on my 2001 Trans Am. Highly recommend! Heres a video of how mine came out: th-cam.com/video/-wI85HnnQTM/w-d-xo.html
@@HOSSgarage That's good, me not so much. We live in apartments with paper thin windows poorly sealed. The person I live with doesn't see the issue with this exhaust setup mated to his pacesetter long tubes and obnoxious cam. I told him I would pay half the cost if he switches to a hooker blackheart true dual. Hoping that will quiet it down a bit. Also, when he starts it in the cold why does it keep stalling? Took him around 6 minutes to start it up on a 32 degree morning. Do you know how I can fix this?

I love how it sounds when it opens up around 4K rpm

Word! Glad you found the channel! Check out the recent videos on the build, going for booooost!
Just ordered one. Can't wait
Love the name!
I love how you get straight to the point and not speak for the first 4-5 minutes if your videos
Thanks! I like a lot of live action!
Sounds great. I need headers and all put on my 02 SS.
Just bought a kit for my ls swapped 3rd gen can't wait
Damn that sounds sick. I want an X-pipe for my car, they just sound so much better than Y-pipe setups.
Agreed!
They do makes the exhaust sound clearer
Finally someone using a battery powered tool!!!
Looks awesome can you make a long term video?
Yeah battery is the way. Only have air at the shop so battery > air. Long term video on the tool?
Thing sounds excellent one on the best sounding modern v8s next to the ford 4.6
Just ordered mine today for my 98 formula
💸?
This car needs some 3.90s 👌🏼will really wake it up
I sure do miss that v8 sound! Go check out the recent videos on the channel!
love the tone. I'd just want it half as loud :)
Thanks!! New system is gonna be way different! New engine too!!!
Did you happen to measure the dB at idle, cruise, and WOT?
I love how this sounds do you think axel dumps are worth it over full length exhaust??
Axle dumps sounded amazing

Nice I was looking at that kit as well for my SS
He should have just bought the tailpipes.. I hate turndowns.
I did this and it made no difference

i'm fixing to install the over the axle version on my 2000 SS. thanks for the video!
In hindsight I wish I’d spent the extra cash and went with your version because of fitment. Let me know how it goes and thanks for watching!

i put over axle version on my trans am. Fits very nice for the money and sounds awesome
Where did you get those exhaust hangers for the rear?
Came with kit
Watched this video, ordered me the same kit. Awesome video man
Dude that’s what’s up! Thanks!
This car sounds like a beast good job!
Thanks! It’s gonna have more horsepower now!
Man that sounds mean 👍🏻
John Belknap thanks bud!
Nothing sounds better than a x pipe
Love it! I do wonder what a 6.6 liter would sound like though….
Good video, thank you.
Car sounds great and nice work on the vid!!
Appreciate it!
Great video. Thanks for the info. Are you planning on putting a bigger engine in there? 3"dual is way to big for a 345 cube engine.
@@DrSaucePacket It definitely is. Dual 3" is great for a 454. Way too big for any naturally aspirated small block.
How about a 401 cubic inch 6.6 L?
Karr homeboy from my town LIVE OOOOAAAKK
Same one that’s on my car
You have the part where you weld it?
The kit is bolt in, no welding required. Rode with the exhaust like that for a long time and no leaks. But you can easily weld it
"It ain't right but it's done!" Sounds good enough for government work to me!
Sounds good ! Anything done to the engine?
Just head work and cam. New engine is much better go check out my other videos!
Sounds good man,I want this exhaust also but scared it's to low too the ground.

@@richmyers416 I got it a month ago,. It actually fits better than the stock exhaust. It's a little cheap, but I definitely like it.
What size bolts did you use for the hangers I had to make the holes bigger on mine
I just used some long random bolts laying around the shop. However I did have to make the holes bigger on the hangers anyway.
@@HOSSgarage thanks for the reply 🙏🏽
It would be badass to make this exhaust work with the K series to see how it sounds
Thought about it but the ground clearance was horrible when it was v8.. going out the fender this time

No worries!

Ordered my kit.... bought longer bolt.... and the hangers holes are too small. Gotta go get them drilled out now, did u have this same issue?
I’m trying to remember if I had to drill out the holes... 🤔 I think I did actually put them in a vice and drilled them out if I remember correctly
My car is going to be lowered about 1 1/2" will this kit work with scraping thanks
I will say that you should go with the over axle setup they offer. Much more clearance.
@@HOSSgarage thank you some much for your advice.
Hey man are those carbon doors and if so where can I purchase them
Not carbon I wish. But mods coming soon stay tuned
Where’d you get the exhaust kit ?
Speed engineering
How was the droning with this setup?
Not bad at all. 6th gear was quiet
Just subscribed. Thank Karr for that.
claudio goncalves @karr good looking out!
What’s better 2.5’ all the way back or 3’ all the way back
I’m gonna have to say 3 inch.

Awesome!
Is it possible to raise the X pipe up a bit more?
Maybe a tiny bit, but still not much clearance even with that. Sounded good though!

The hugger orange is like orange as an orange that's red
Yeah, the 99 hugger Orange paint always tends to favor the red shade… the 69 hugger Orange favors more of an orange tint. I prefer the 69
How much does the exhaust system cost?
Back then it was like $300. I don’t know what it is now.

1999. It’s a sloppy mechanics Elgin stage 2 cam. 283 Intake Duration, 286 Exhaust Duration, 228 Intake Duration (.050" Lift). From speedway motors. New motor is dual cam *wink wink*
