The LT1 has always been one of the best sounding V8's, even to this day. The AJ-133 (Jaguar F-type) and the 5.2L Voodoo (Shelby GT350) are really the only two off the top of my head that are on par with it, at least in terms of sound.
I got longtubes with 3" collectors into header mufflers 2.25" out into 45 elbows into tailpipes dumping before the back tires. Sounds like an old school muscle car with my CC503 Lopin'. Better than spending $1000-$1600 for a traditional exhaust system.
I personally love the dynomax race bullets. But that's on a 496 I have. Cant believe I got the LT1 6 speed Devon! That Gold firebird I just picked up is so much fun! I had 3 LS trans ams in the past. And the LT1 has a ton of torque off the line compared to the LS cars I owned in the past. Perhaps I do a 383 LT build with AFR reverse flow heads and a fat cam. 550hp at the crank!
You should listen to a Borla adjustable for the F Body...easily the best sounding exhaust available IMHO. That, and you can temporarily add a noise plate to the pipe if the cops give you a hard time.

Does sound great bro and bra. My 94 M6 went 13.8s @ 100-102 with bad 60’. I feel like 13.6s with dr’s. I had hypertech program and 160 stat, K&N, Hurst shifter and flow master muffler only. Beat all of the cobras from fox to 2000s... except for Terminators. Never raced one but I’d surely had lost unless they shifted really slow or not in the power just bad driver. Fourth Gen F-body Look good Accelerate well, handle well don’t stop well until 96 with Lg dia rotors over 60 mph the smaller suck. But right now that car that’s capable of 13.7 for sure makes me smile every time. Book, buzz~

I personally hate flowmaster on a LT1, sounds like it’s under water lol I always loved the sound of magnaflow. But if you want loud definitely go with SLP

Nope it’s basically a single piece of pipe you weld on after the Y pipe! Pretty simple!

They have held up for over 4 years 3 years on my car and 1 year on my wife’s. They are made in California so they are not from China.
