Accuracy improves even more with the use of a base, especially the elevation. Also on the SurvPC software you have an offset function, so just shoot in one side of the asphalt, and then get one shot on the other side to determine a width, and offset the first line you shot in.
    Thank you for your videos.

Nice video, you should do a comparison where you measure the point at a leveled state, take a small walk or reset the rtk connection, then remeasure the point in a tilted state.

we got stuck with the brx-6 receiver on my crew , the brx-7 would be so helpful when we're in pine country and cant get a signal to save our lives, also the tilt feature is awesome too, thats a great upgrade

We're Topcon where I work but this is quite interesting to watch and seems to be a killer feature. For Fire Hydrants I unscrew the receiver, set HI to 0 and take a shot.

The antenna had been calibrated in the horizontal (level) position. The IMU doesn't compensate for changes in the electrical center of the antenna due to the tilt. Why would it change? We tend to think of the ground plane as the mounting surface of the antenna, but that is an artificial ground plane. The real ground plane is the earth which has proximity and orientation effects on the antenna. The effect while small is real, the rub is that it depends on numerous factors like soil conductivity, moisture and topography. The tilted antenna also changes the view of the satellites and now differs from what the base station sees with its level antenna. The advantage is that the IMU result is good enough for unmarked points and much faster than traditional methods.

Hy a real test is to measure one building corner with total station and then compare it with the same point measure with BRx7 with tilt active, in opensky all tilt imu units will have good results

      Gcp is a better option

Maybe the accuracy could improve by using RTCM3.2 MSM4 with all constellations on.

Another great video. Would love to see you do a short video regarding CORS (state & NOAA) and maybe how a VRS works, too.

Is there a Tilt Compensator for an Emlid Reach RS2 GPS?

Hi Rami, can you please make and post a video about how to create a new Known Point using an Emlid Reach RS2+ receiver and a procedure called Static Processing? Thanks in advance!

Great collection of videos, answers a lot of my questions on how surveying gear works. I was hoping you may be able to answer a question or tackle a problem, for "small time surveying" for example mapping out an irrigation system (ditches, pipes, weir boxes, etc...) What would you reccomend that is budget friendly? We need better accuracy then a phone GPS (15 ft of variance will show the pipe or ditch on the wrong side of the road) and some of this survey gear is way more then needed (1 inch accuracy) Suggestions?

Love your videos. Does that data collector have a screen record function? It's cool how you superimposed the screen on top of your video.

Nice video, but i have a question. When you have a land without any benchmark or geodetic control point it hard to make a survey. I kwon that we are able to use the free station mode with plenty of total station but how can i ake a survey with a gnss system in that kind of land ?

Hey man I have 2 brx7 systems at my company at the moment and I love them with a passion but I wanted to ask if you ever encountered the problem when you level on your control point and you rotate 180 degrees same control point and your northing and easting vary??

Can't realy test this at a 45 degree angle, because of the signal deviation and the shielding at the bottom of your receiver.
