    After watching a few of your videos I have decided that I cannot do surveying/mapping with a drone as a starter business. I have no place on doing that type of work with the knowledge you have gained from expensive schooling. Thank you for opening my eyes, I’ll be looking into another avenue for starting a drone business. 👍🏽 Disappointed but the truth is the truth.

    Wow! Fascinating, just watched this and the video before and can now understand how drones are revolutionising ground surveying. As a flyer myself I’d really love to have a go at this! Great videos and really professionally made, love your delivery and the way you make it so accessible to those who have no background knowledge.

    Nice video, only problem is that the software is very expensive for most. Can you do a video on doing something similar with the WebODM software?

    Very helpful - thanks. One question. You set the GCPs using your rover, but don't you also need a fixed known point to ensure that everything is in the right place? For example, using a placed monument? I could see this being accurate but the whole site being ever so slightly offset - or did I not understand that correctly? Thanks!!!

    Very Nice demonstration, both data capture & processing are difficult tasks however you explained simple and clear. it shows your deep knowledge and passion over mapping. Do we have video on planimetric/ topographic vector data capture?. Vector map would be the end project looking by end customers.

    I read that the US Survey foot is slated to be retired at the end of this year. Is this your understanding? Impressive result BTW.

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. The new 2022 datum (which will probably be released in 2024/2025) will only use International Feet. However, NAD83 will still exist and if you use NAD83 then you still need to follow your state’s units.

    Hi Rami, Thanks for this valuable informations.
    Did you perfomed the Automatic Point Measurement (APM) before you run bundle adjusment for georeferencing of the block? I'm not sure I didn't see the APM stage in drone mappping processing unlike in old fashion Aerial Triangalution (AT) from flying normal big plane

    Thank you Sir for short & clear video. I am interested to learn more about survey especially using advance & modern equipment. Threfore, I want to ask a few question for clarify.
    1) Does GCP need to locate on firm ground because it might affect the height value?
    2) The software of Pix4DMapper and Carlson Photo both function are the same? Is there any free software version.
    3) Does the software only suit for Dji Phantom 4?

    What is the best all around priced equipment to get for photogrametry & lidar use & processing. I only have a DJI Mavic 2 Pro. I have looked at purchasing a Matrice M300 or M350 & a Rock Robotic R3 with Slam. But the R3 Slam bundle is around $55k plus price of the drone itself of $15k at least. Rock Robotic program fee are high, DJI Terra is ?, Pix4D Perpetual is $790 + tax, Carlson Photo Capture is ?, Carlson Photo Capture Advanced is way more. What is the best wisest way to get everything for lidar also along with processing it for the most accurate results?

    Great videos! Few questions
    I noticed you were using vertical coordinate system but did not input this into your photogrammetry software, is this ever needed?
    Have you used other photogrammetry software? Such as Agisoft Metashape?
    I noticed you did not use the RTK capabilities of the p4p RTK drone, do you find this use ful or plan on doing a video on how one may use this in the survey vertical?
    Again great videos!

    Hi Rami, if I want to do powerline survey on existing network and greenfield sites that connect back to the existing network which software package would be best for this work e.g. Pix4D, DroneDeploy or other?
    Can I use the existing network poles known ground level Easting, Northing and Elevations as GCP's & checkpoints & how could they be accuracy targeted within the photogramatory processing, i.e. being so tall & blocking their actual central point at ground level in each shot, is there a way around this?
    Kind regards Bruce

      Yes, photocapture/pixelement cloud portal has volumetric tools. Or you can bring the output surface into to your desired cad software.

    Say you wanted to show property linework on an aerial photo of said property. How many GCPs would you recommend to make the line work as accurate as possible on your deliverable?

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not about how many GCPs you use, but rather how how they are laid out and the level of accuracy of the points. But I would recommend placing a GCP near each property corner, and then place one GCP in the center for every 1 acre of land you are surveying.

    I would like to see some old school videos on the principals of mathematics/surveying. I would trust a bench run instead of a drone. I’m sure your father would agree.
