CartoonUniverse this is just a doubt I have about the topic of the video, but I can't stop thinking about one particular detail that nobody ever mentions... which is the color of the cannibals and the loan sharks blood. In the scene where Alastor kills the loan sharks, we see clearly that their blood is red. Similarly after the final battle in the last episode you can see some dead cannibals, and again even in that scene their blood is red. Shouldn't this visually confirm to us that those demons are sinners and not hellborn, since in helluva boss we are shown every time the characters get hurt that the blood of hellborn demons is black, not red?
@@federicam4793 If it were Helluva Boss I'd say so, but with how essential having Golden blood became to identifying angels I don't think production could have black blood without taking time to explain it, and notably Charlie seems to have red blood as well.
@@ebonyblack4563 mmmh maybe…. Charlie is a special case? After all she’s not a regular hellborn, her parents are a fallen Angel and a human woman … btw I’m sorry but I didn’t actually get your point… you mean that since they already had two types of blood in Hazbin it would have been confusing to have a third one?
@@federicam4793 Essentially yes, it'd have meant needing to dedicate screen time to explain it, which would have meant extra lines and probably added confusion to some already very cluttered scenes during the battle. Much like we got no mention of the other Rings or even another city in the official show I think some details were glossed over because of production limits; after all, with how they had to rush so much with only eight episodes that such things would have added confusion and not been as easy to follow visually.
I have a theory on why all the cannibals smile that I would like to share. So if you know about eating humans, you'll know it's not good for you. Stick with me, I'm cooking (not literally). When you eat a human there is certain proteins, specifically in containment human brain tissue. If one eats this protein it can give them a disease call Kuru. Kuru is a disease that effects your nervous system and gives your body tremors. Kuru is also nicknamed the ' the laughing sickness' BECAUSE it could cause pathological laughing outbursts and when you laugh you smile. My theory for why cannibals sinner forms in hszbin hotel smile is because their is a high likely hood if they were all apart of the same Colinas (which is emptied since they all dress the same) and this place resulted to cannibalism and they were all eating the same infected tissue, then they could have all had the disease. If nothing else though, viv could have been inspired to make them smile because of this disease. (So instead of them literally haveing it it could have just been a stylistic choice.) BUT that's just my theory on why. Would love to hear your thoughts :)
its more amazing that people think she is the nicest, based on giving some good advice to the princess of hell, that she openly sings about joining because she believes Charlie is on the winning side... she is the most evil named character only contested by Alistair, as both are brutal murderers, just she eats her victims too, keeping dozens of souls as slaves as an overloard, but sure, she is nice because on her screen time she acts nicely for a couple minutes... yeah just forget about all else she did, and still does.
Exactly. I thought part of the extermination deal was that the hellborn were safe and that only sinners could be killed. So having the Cannibals as hellborn doesn't make sense.
@@hedwig7s Maybe she makes cannibal sinners look like her, like when you sale your soul to her she transforms you so you can live safely in cannibal town and not be mixed up with non cannibal sinners
Apparently there was a period of time when ‘human powder’ or ‘ground human bones’ were used as food supplements in around the Victorian/Edwardian times. Could be an easy way to make an entire town a bunch of cannibals
I like the theory that they were a cult and died together, and that rosie and franklin were the cult leaders which would explain how they all look similar
I think the fact they look the same IS their deal with Rosie. Rosie gets their soul and the cannibals get a safe and lovely community. Heaven has no idea how souls get there and Adam even says "there is no defying their fate" Where the show is dripping in Catholic Momento Mori, the story and problem between heaven and hell takes a lot from Calvinism or predstination where some people are destined for heaven and some for hell. Rosie saw children in hell and decided she was going to protect them. So children who manifest find their way to her eventually cause cannibal town doesnt just have children, but a lot of children. Kids still have a soul so they add to the pile of her contracts.
You forgot that there are even kid cannibal sinners in this show. Remember Helluva Boss first ep had an entire cannibal family and i would imagine when they all died they got reborn as cannibals and considering hell has been around since ancient times in periods where cannibalism was more popular it makes sense their are multitude of cannibals type sinners in cannibal town.
Most of the cannibals in the town may have been humans, but they never died, which is why they can reproduce. They opened a portal to Hell from Earth and settled there, living in Hell they began to turn into demons. Infernal cannibals are a subspecies of Homo Sapiens, formed in Hell.
@@ashleyloveraine4341Who says he wasn't until the start of the show? alistor dissapeared for 7 years and when he got back it he went striaght to charlie. He knows Rosie and she even asked where he has been also side note, not literally every cannibal sinner has to live in cannibal town much like real life not every type of person has to live where their kind of people live like 100%
Who would've thought the leader of the cannibals would make such a good relationship counselor? Rosie is a lot more chill in general than I ever would've thought. Cannibal Town is a lot more pleasant than I thought. I love how Vivienne turns our conventions on their heads. Also, "Out For Love" is such a bop.
the aesthetic of the town is imo one of the best in the show. its this picturesque early 1900's american town, populated by well-dressed yet ghoulish residents with hollow eye sockets. It's eerie at first, sure, but if you talk to some of them you'll learn that the residents themselves are largely nice and polite and extroverted, making the town seem accomodating and friendly. As long as you follow their rules, of course.
I mean honestly i dont find it that weird, if you really think about it the majority of cannibal citicens were most likely normal people who fell victim to famines, forced tohorrific deeds in desperation and possibly excecuted over them, only to be forever stuck in hell with craving for human flesh as eternal punishment
I hate how not a single time in the actual episode did Vivzie confirm if Rosie and the colony are hellborn or sinners, this question unironically bothering me more than Alastor end game, I just want straight answer Vivzie 😢
I'm not sure what hellborn means at least specifically in the show but if it's just people naturally in hell like the imps they probably wouldn't be getting targeted by the exorcists or be killed by angelic weapons like how Rosie's friend was killed, or they could be sinners that have made kids in hell through sex obviously, if thats considered hellborn then cannibal town is probably a mix of sinners and hellborn
There are clues like the exorcists are allowed to kill cannibals which if they were hellborn they wouldn’t be allowed to do. There’s also the fact that Rosie is an overlord when only sinners can become overlords due to the fact that hellborn species don’t have a soul to make deals with and therefore cannot give or take ownership of a soul. Rosie was confirmed to have ownership of souls in Episode 3 so she is a sinner.
@@gibbsterVtechnically anyone powerful enough can effectively become an overlord. Sinners just have it easier because of the soul dealing. However, we know that some Hellborn families such as the von Eldritch have overlords among them, and we do know those specifically have children and grow older
I still think the Cannibals could be sinners who lived mostly virtuous lives but are primarily those from the Victorian/Edwardian Era that participated in the practice of eating Mummies stolen from Egypt as was popular for both perceived medicinal properties or just as a treat during that time and beyond, and once they died they just accepted their fate and lean into it
My theory is that the cannibal colonists are actually this world’s version of the Canaanites, (a race of Demi gods who also ate people) and the reason they dress up in old Americana attire specifically, is because history in the helluverse happens sooner, which also explains why stolas was born in the 1980s despite being first mentioned in a book from the 1600s explaining events from the Old Testament.
I think when Lucifer talks about Sinners in episode 5 he isn't referring to the loan sharks, he's referring to Alastor who is violently and sadistically dispatching the loan sharks, and he's using the plural because he's generalizing, saying that all sinners are like that. Also probably including Mimzy, because she's the one who brought the loan sharks to the hotel in the first place.
In regards to Lucifer’s comments on sinners, I think he was referring to Alastor: who was in a murder frenzy and Mimzy who brought the loan sharks to the hotel.
My theory is that the cannibal colony are a bunch of people who resorted to cannibalism during the great depression and therefore got sent to hell for that sin which is why they dress as early 1900s and why they look similar
My thought is that they all look that way because maybe that’s part of Rosie’s deals with them. We don’t really know the extent a soul contract can force upon the owned soul. For all we know, there could be a way to slightly manipulate the look of the owned soul when making the deal. A way of marking them maybe? So having them all have hollowed eyes and sharp teeth could be from the soul contracts of Rosie, as a way of making them all share something in common. They already enforce a dress code so I wouldn’t doubt it if something similar was done with the soul contracts
*One thing I noticed* when Charlie and Alastor went to Rosie’s shop was that the woman Rosie was speaking to looked a lot like the other members of Cannibal Town BUT lacked their distinctive smile, and made a sort of moaning/hissing sound at the end of the one-sided conversation when we know the others can speak and sing. That makes me think that sinners can transition into the types of demon Cannibal Town hosts, and *possibly* that sinners who died with the cannibalistic urges end up in that sort of zombie state until they actually do it, at which point they fully become one of the cannibal sinners. It’d explain why Rosie wanted to convince the woman that her urges were normal and should be embraced.
The way Rosie talked about the exorcists made it seem like she didn’t deal with them often, which could be that as hellborn they aren’t targets, but Vaggie was punished for not killing one, so that could mean that Lute either didn’t see who she let run, or that the exorcists just decide not to target the cannibal colony. It’s also possible that like the loan shark it’s both sinners and hellborn, and that the sinners brought the 1940s style with them to hell.
One theory I had, which might not hold true anymore, is what if the cannibals are neither dead nor hellborn, but a group of living people that made it to hell (through devil worship and rituals or whatever...) and the environment of hell slowly turned them into what they are now.
maybe rosie was the one sacrificed and that’s why she doesn’t age? she made it there but being the sacrifice she can’t die (unless from angelic weapons ofc)
Similar to a theory I had, that Rosie was a Cult Leader who entered Hell through some kind of portal, bringing her Cult with her. They then established themselves as Cannibal Town.
@@jackjones4824 im pretty sure children go to hell based on the murder family in episode 1 of helluva boss like aint no way those sickos are going to heaven
@jackjones4824, how would children getting sent to hell be dark? Children can commit crimes too There are actually plenty of cases of kids who've commit murder and don't feel a shred of empathy, look it up
I think Rosie’s a rare case of a hellborn Overlord, most overlords are sinners: Al, Val, Vox, etc. 3:24 yeah she’s pretty supportive and nice for a cannibal
One of my friends had a theory that the Cannibal town was possibly the Roanoke Colony that disappeared in the 1500’s due to unknown circumstances. And maybe they hit a really bad winter and turned to cannibalism, which is why they all look similar. And they may have adopted the 1920’s style later on because they liked the fashion/style so much. I definitely thought that it was an interesting theory!
Just a mention. That empathy is Viv's tell. A character that shows empathy is going to find their way to Charlie's side eventually. Maybe not in a straight line. But Viv seems to divide her characters along lines of having or not having empathy. With the empathic ones being the good guys.
I remember Rosie was described as having being a 2 or 3 on a power level from 1 to 10. But she strikes me as the type who makes up her low power level for her shrewdness. After all, Alastor made a point of her being the most dangerous Overlord in her side of Pentagram City. Not to mention her dialouge endears herself to whoever listens. I know she endeared herself to me, at least.
If I recall correctly, she's a 2-3 on the Overlord scale. So she's stronger than your average Hellborn or Sinner, but relatively average on the scope of Overlords.
I just remembered one thing. If Sinners manifested in the appearances of what they hated and their souls, what will the Sinners looked like if they hated being humans? Just ended up looking similar to normal humans while being in Hell?
Bro imagine dying and finding yourself in this world, where every dead mfs got cool designs BUT you just look like yourself back on earth I'll be soooooo fucking pissed lmfao
Rosie Is the most powerful than the other cannibals in her town besides she's friends with alastor I can imagine they have meat brunches for every afternoon
7:32 ; to clarify this confusion. Lucifer was referring to Mimzy and Alastor in this context as sinners (which they are). He said "sinners bring violence and chaos to your doorstep," right after Mimzy explained why the loan sharks were after her (she brought violence and destruction; i.e. the loan sharks to their doorstep) , and called sinners psychopaths that cause pain and destruction; Lucifer said this while Alaster was massacring the loan sharks and Charlie got defensive towards Alastors methods right after. So he wasn't referring the loan sharks as sinners at all.
My current theory about the Cannibal colony is that they are representative of the weird, the strange. As Charlie suggested in Happy Day in Hell its not just the Evil that are in Hell but the Strange as well. And I think this gets to a crux of the entire plot line. That the gatekeeping of Heaven is not fair and is based on archaic ideas. The metaphorical Black and White that Adam referenced. They may be the oddballs from society that marched to their own beat and got sidelined by the rest of society. It may be manifesting as cannibalism in Hell as a way of turning the destruction society set upon them in life with a reversal via eating those who do not accept their ways in Hell.
I believe that cannibals are like hell vultures that evolved or were created to clean angels mess after the exterminations. But among them we can have cannibal sinners too
And they look a bit like lucifer with the white tones and some of them have cheeks, they could be a frustrated attempt of create a life form but they where soulless (because of the black eyes) or something like that. Basically they could be an unfinished creation left by Lucifer in pride ring. And during the eras they developed they hunger for human flesh/sinner flesh. (thinking now they could be a answer against humanity, because of what they did with the free will...... I don't now a lot of options are popping on my mind right now)
Making Rosie and the rest of the cannibals straight up Hell born makes a lot of sense given their designs, and having Rosie as a Hell born Overlord as an exception just adds to some world building. I might be wrong but it seems most Sinners are wildly powerful or at least more plentiful than Hell born. Having Rosie as an Overlord and a Hell Born would simply give credence to her power and influence.
Most of the cannibals in the town may have been humans, but they never died, which is why they can reproduce. They opened a portal to Hell from Earth and settled there, living in Hell they began to turn into demons. Infernal cannibals are a subspecies of Homo Sapiens, formed in Hell.

I feel like the cannibals are hell-born. It adds an interesting twist to Vaggie's story: Vaggie could simply have avoided killing the child because they were a hellborn child. They weren't sinners who failed life they were simply living. Lute and Adam (Having ulterior motives for taking down a head exorcist) just used it as an excuse to get rid of her. Then Vaggie realizes that not all of heaven is good. Which opens her up to Charlie's idea that not all sinners are bad.
I really hope they're Hellborn, because that's significantly more interesting to me than if they're Sinners. The Pride Ring having a species of demon that evolved specifically to feed on the Sinners is a great concept, and having a Hellborn Overlord is interesting too. I can see the in show inconsistencies beging a case of them having integrated with the Sinners for so long that people just don't really think of them as "different" anymore. ( though it's probably just. writing inconsistencies, lol. )
I wonder if this town is built off of the time right before the Great depression in the 1920s. The sin being cannibalism would make sense, but Rosie and maybe the others being from around that time period missed the life they had right before while also growing that taste for flesh in the afterlife.
Someone in a Facebook group pointed out that it was "fissionable" to eat mummies and to drink from coffins. So then, everyone in Cannibal Town is of that era. I have not looked up these stories myself, the idea of it is just to gross for me, but the theory seems to fit. If they are natives or sinners, I wish something official would come out to explain it. Thank you for making this video.
When Lucifer was talking about sinners when the sharks were attacking, I think he was referring to mimzy and Alastor. He talked about how they "bring destruction to your doorstep" and are violent, which fits for each of them (mimzy brought the loan sharks there and Alastor attacked them)
"Ace in the hole" comment from her meant three things to me on first viewing: 1. A casual remark on his Ace status. It took me a few years to learn I was. 2. "Ace in the hole" is an uncommon label for someone or thing considered to be a last-resort secret weapon. He..... sort of is. 3. Unlikely, but he probably thought it was her using a euphemism for "assh0le". In media there was a recurring joke when someone would misinterpret being called "claustrophobic" thinking they were called gay. Casey Jones in _Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles_ (1990) assumed this. Rosie was/is adorable. She has that charm we wish one of our close relatives had, just like some people wanted an an uncle Buck (1989).
Don't forget how some of them were obsessed with eating mummies form egypt for "medicinal" purposes, it one of the reasons why mummies are in short supply they were either eaten or made into mummy brown acrylic paint. The only thing i'm not sure about is the time period.
7:26 The loan sharks in Hazbin aren't the hellborn shark species, they lack the eye rings, come in more colors, and they bleed red, hellborns have black blood. The reason they have similar appearances to each other is likely because they led similar lives, like how angels family are all spider themed due to their "web" of crime, the loan sharks have been turned into literal sharks after death.
I think the Cannibals are actually sinners. Mainly because the creators of the show specifically chose to have them appear on the Sinners card. Much like how the Winners card shows some angels who look similar to Ophanim and Seraphim, but aren't actually them.
At 7:30 I think Lucifer was moreso referring to Mimzy for being the reason the loan sharks attacked because he talked about letting people in and giving them a place to stay which matched Mimzy but not the loan sharks outside
Something that's always bothered me is that I can't tell if the Sharks of the Pride mafia are native-borns like the sharks of the Knolastname crime family or not because they don't have the same eyes as the Greed sharks. Greed sharks tend to have those thin ringed patterns in their single colored eye, making it look like a monochrome bulleye. The show manages to get the traits of Imps and Hellhounds consistent (Imps appear throughout Hazbin and there's a clearly identifiable hellhound Voxtex customer who appears in the "voyeur scope" commercial scene who has the black ovoid pupil, white iris, and red sclera eyes distinctive of Hellhounds) so the fact the sharks that attack the Hotel (6:51) all have eyes that don't look like that makes me wonder. If I had to place them, the eye designs of the Pride Sharks look like the Succubi, which have yellow sclera, red iris, and a black slitted pupil. The ones who don't just have the red/yellow reversed. A mixed Shark/Succubi origin would match with their black horns and black fin tips, as the Succubi tend to have black/black-tipped horns and black markings on their extremities. These Shark's horns also look more like Succubi horns than Shark horns, with Succubi having horns that are well-defined from the rest of their skulls, while the Sharks we saw in Greed, which the concept art seems to indicate are pure Shark Demon, have horns that match the rest of their color scheme and are better incorporated as part of their heads. So, I guess that's my new theory, processed here while I type in comments, the Pride Shark Mafia _are_ native-borns, but unlike the Knolastname crime family who is (err... was) made up of pure-Sharks with the exception of a few hybrids, this Shark crime family that attacked the Hotel and got eaten alive by Alastor comes from a family/community that's been part Succubi for a few generations and didn't inherit the Shark eyes. That actually gives me theories as to why they operate in the Pride ring, actually, maybe being part Succubi means they got access to Earth and human disguises, so they formed ties doing mafia stuff on Earth and thus is makes sense for them to live near the human sinners.
I love the part how you stated Rosie is a socialite and how she'd be able to know you well enough to find the perfect match for you! It'd be cool for Rosie to be a character that knows every tiny detail about a person. She's both an amazing friend and a terrifying enemy to cross because she knows everything about you. Giving her control over people! :)
I like the idea of the cannibal colony being a native species to hell, but the only reason I don’t believe it is because we haven’t seen them in other rings of hell
And also the color of their blood can be an hint that they are sinners I think. We saw in helluva that hellborn species’ blood is black, not red, but after the final battle we can see some dead cannibals, and their blood is red….
I figured you'd point it out when talking about soul deals, but Husker's deal seems to be more all-encompassing than Angel's. Alastor can teleport Husker wherever he pleases at any time and order him around. Husk also has to deal with the threat of being annihilated in a gruesome manner although a certain spider boy may fall to a certain moth man's angelic handgun.
Something else I thought about this while first watching ep 7 is that if they were all sinners from the early 1900s, Rosie would probably know most of everyone already, though in the show she seems to have just only met the woman she was talking to. That probably won’t mean anything depending of the amount of people that live there though
I really like Rosie’s character, i didn’t expect her to be so powerful yet so sweet at the same time though, it’s really refreshing compared to the other overlords :)
Friendly reminder that Cannibalism is "The practice of eating the flesh of one's own species." That means that "Cannibals" eating Angels is just normal behaviour..
i feel like when soul deals are made both parties can choose the aspects of the deal.angel dust signed a contract to work for valentino, so most of his power is at val's place. husk lost his soul while gambling so alastor owns it outright.
My personal headcanon is that they were a cult of some sort that ate human flesh, or maybe like you said, had to eat each other because of a famine, or maybe they killed and ate their leader
I believe the Cannibals are the Pride Ring natives, because as you pointed out with Alastor who himself is a cannibal their forms aren't exactly the same...you even pointed that out with Angel's family so for the entire colony to look pretty much identical to each other, would be very much impossible with the current evidence...so it is very likely they're the exact same species
And what about the color of their blood then? After the final battle in the last episode we saw some dead cannibals, and their blood was red. But we saw in Helluva Boss that hellborn Demons’ blood is not red, but black. Then if they are hellborns why their blood is red? 🤔🤔
@@xxmension04xx47 maybe Charlie is a particular case, since her parents are a fallen Angel and a human woman, but honestly I don’t know… this thing kinda confuses me….
@@xxmension04xx47 yeah, while the ones we saw in helluva had black blood. So maybe it like imp cut said in the video… those were also sinners who took the appearance of sharks in hell cause they were loan sharks in life…..
They’re sinners for the following reasons: 1) they were able to be killed by the angels without consequences 2) they bleed red (same with the Loan Sharks, whom I assumed were Hellborn as well, but Hellborn have black blood, as seen in HB and when Dazzle dies) 3) Vivzie has said that anything said by Faust is not canon anymore
If there are both sinner and hellborn Loan Sharks then there are probably both sinner and hellborn cannibals. By that logic it's still entirely possible that Rosie is a hellborn even if not everyone in the colony is.
So really really interesting fact. There actually is a town that was massively destroyed during that timeframe and also had a history of cannibalism. Galveston Texas was completely destroyed during the 1900's storm and the native population was known for spiritual and ritualistic cannibalism. It's such a neat little connection and it's going to be my personal headcannon from now on!
It is worth noting that the cannibals are the only people in the show so far to refer to humans, Susan saying she wanted to eat human flesh rather than sinner flesh That combined with their human like designs implies to me they're probably sinners who are in denial of their place in hell to some degree, hence the commitment to maintaining their way of life
I never thought of it, but it makes sense if the citizens of Cannibal Town are in fact the native species of the Pride Ring. They share the pale white skin that Lucifer and Charlie have, perhaps suggesting that the Cannibals was Lucifer's attempt at creating humans of his own, they do strongly look like their own species, and their obsession with their appearance, and the aesthetic of their community being attributed to their sin of Pride. It is possible that Rosie is an extremely rare example of a low-blood hellborn acquiring enough power and status to achieve the rank of Overlord, which would be a further mark of pride for the Cannibals.
i`m pretty sure that these are sinners. People from WW1, who hated each other so mush, that wanted to "eat" the enemy. This motive of a soldier eating the body of an enemy is very common in the period btw, in war posters and other propaganda
I think something important to point out is that the cannibals don’t really seem to be suffering. In fact they appear to be thriving in their little community. Which makes me speculate that they find the environment of the pride ring to be comfortable and more like home than the average sinners
all of the cannibals are always smiling which is possibly a reference to the way that they died possibly to the deadly disease known as KURU a degenerative brain disease that can eb contracted by consuming human meat that can lead to uncontrollable laughter or twitching, it is also much more common in women and children that in men most likely because women and children were more likely to eat human meat. it also peaked from 1957 - 1961
I think the reason their are so many kid is best told by Alastor himself "I havn't been this entertained since the stock market crash of 1920 so many orphans".
7:30 Im pretty sure Lucifer was just referring to Alastor, as he was talking about Sinners enjoying death, destruction and suffering, and immeaditly after Charlie defends Alastors actions as he was doing it to protect the hotel.
The cannibals have red blood, so they are most likely sinners. Idk about Rosie though, she could be hellborn and the others just manifested with similar appearances to her because they are also cannibals
I think that the cannibals in cannibal town are all sinners, but the only sin was cannibalism and that's why they are friendlier it seems. Alastor probably looks different because of his other crimes.
My personal theory is that the cannibals are the sinners that didn't really do anything bad, but not enough good to go to Heaven. After they found themselves in Hell, they just went "screw it" and decided that if they're already in Hell they might as well try to fit in.
It's unknown, but I'm inclined to believe they are hell-borne because Rosie says that cannibal town has never needed to worry about the angelic extermination. And given that Lute said hell-borne were exempt from the extermination. That could be why their town is the cleanest and least damaged compared to other areas of pentagram city and the pride ring as a whole from what we've seen so far. it appeared as if Vaggie was gonna kill a cannibal kid when Lute cut out her eye and wings. But it could be that she didn't know who's hell-borne or not, and the kid may have wandered outside of the safe Haven of Cannibal town to explore or to get a snack off of a sinner, and got caught up in the extermination. Lots of kids makes me think they procreated in Hell. On the subject of vaggie, how can she regrow her wings, but not her eye and both were cut out with Lute's angelic weapon???
Since Alastor is aromantic ace he probably doesn't understand why he's not romantically attracted to any of the women he's met yet either. I was in kind of a similar situation when I was younger in the sense that I thought one day I'd fall in love or one day I'd be attracted to someone. It just didn't happen at all and I didn't have any of those feelings toward anyone. I really thought I was straight though. When I was younger everyone told me that I was a "late bloomer" and that I'd find someone eventually. When I got to be a bit older people made the wrong assumption that I was somehow "desperate" and tried to match me with people even though I really didn't feel that way at all and I was pretty happy just not dating anyone and enjoying my own interests. I told people no to not do that and I didn't want that kind of help. I still somehow thought I was straight just liked being single. However in my mid 30s I realized that I had no intention of ever having sex or having a romantic relationship and the idea of doing that was actually pretty gross to me and I knew I wouldn't ever want it. I also finally had the terminology for what I was, aromantic and asexual. This brought a lot of calm and peace of mind because I finally had words to describe how I felt.
I think they must be sinners because hellborns are exempt from extermination but Vaggie was punished for not killing a cannibal child during extermination. If they were hellborn Vaggie would not be expected to kill them but she was
Since the different species in the rings have a theme that ties to the sin of each region, it is safe to assume the hellborn of pride are the dinosaurs (because of how seemingly strong they look, possibly giving them a sense of "pride" tied to their strength) rather than the cannibals; eating people of a same species looks mores suited to gluttony than something to be prideful.
I like how most of the cannibals look to be from 100-400 years ago, showing how there were many events back then in war, slavery, ext. Where people resort to eating their own people, and even children. I’m a sucker for history!
What I believe makes the Cannibal colony different, and as mentioned in the video as well as the song Ready For This, is how they dress also reflects their unity with one another. With them all dressed in late 19th to early 20th century clothes, around 1889-1905 if you want an estimate, is a way for the cannibals to be basically in some sort of uniform and looking like a more united society than the rest of Pentagram City where everyone looks different from one another and miserable while the cannibals seem very happy to be together and will help fight and devour anything and anyone.
I really think that the Cannibals are a species of hell... Their design doesnt have any overlapping symbolism... They just look alikemeanibg chances are the reason is cause they are one species
Idea theory for another theory video: Charlie already knew Vaggie was an angel. She knew Vaggie could come with her to Heaven in episode 6 which sinners can't do, and she doesn't look like any of the hellborn demons, so she had to have known Vaggie wasn't a demon. So what else could Vaggie be? What Charlie didn't know was that Vaggie was a former exterminator. I believe she may have suspected Vaggie could have been one, but didn't know for sure until Adam spilled the beans.
There's nothing saying that a Sinner can't be brought up to Heaven without redeeming themselves first. Redemption is only required for them to be able to re-manifest in Heaven. More or less, a Sinner could be invited up to Heaven like Charlie and Vaggie were in that episode.
@@martaneon5310 thats a ring and a restriction probably made by lucifer to stop the overpowered and murderous sinners from causing destruction to the other not as powerful and somewhat normal hellborn demons
You know, maybe we could get a short vid about the things from Helluva Boss that have appeared in Hazbin Hotel, like Val's robot and all the other small details.
I like to think that Rosie was one of the lost on the Oregon trail many got lost on the way and it Wasn’t unusual for elderly dying fast and there families resorting to eating them to live just a little longer
Honestly every episode leading up to Rosie’s debut I could only imagine her having a scary type of voice because of her smile towards that egg boy but I’m so glad her voice is just heavenly and bubbly… I absolutely love it and she seems like the sweetest overlord …. Kindof reminds me of the marvelous mrs.maisel ❤😊
Most of the cannibals in the town may have been humans, but they never died, which is why they can reproduce themselves. They opened a portal to Hell from Earth and settled there, living in Hell they began to turn into demons. Infernal cannibals are a subspecies of Homo Sapiens, formed in Hell.
Yeah because a human eating an elf in any fantasy game is not traditional cannibalism. But in most fictional universes it is considered to be so. Pretty much: If you look too human and you eat a human it might as well be cannibalism.
My theory on Rosie is that her cannibal kind is native to hell and they used to be part of the gluttony ring but, Beelzebug for stone to be in the pride ring to make room for the hellhounds.
There was a time period where people were eating mummies as medicine (1700s-1800s) that I’m wondering if may be the cause of all the cannibals. If the oldest of this group died in the early 1900s this may explain the aesthetic. It could also explain the children as they may have been sick and given mummy powder to treat it.
Small fan theory: What if Mimsy is the reason Alastor ended up in hell? Now I don't mean she caused him to be in Hell, but more because of her actions he ended up in Hell probably sooner than he expected. First off we know from the show and lore that Mimsy and Alastor knew each other and were friends back on Earth, as Mimsy said to Husk and Angel that they were around the same social circles when alive. But we also know and see that whenever Mimsy went to Alastor usually trouble followed (as when Husk mentions it to Alastor and when the Loan Sharks attack the hotel). Maybe when they were alive Mimsy would get into trouble and when she realizes it could actually harm her she turns to Alastor for help to solve it, which he follows suit by most likely killing those she wronged (since he was a serial killer). My theory is that one day Mimsy went to Alastor while alive and asked him to deal with someone she wronged. Alastor being the friend he is and having a taste for bloodshed killed the person who Mimsy wronged, but as he was disposing of the body that's when the hunter who mistook him for a deer shot and killed him. After his death maybe Mimsy wronged someone again but this time since Alastor wasn't around to help her, she actually faced her consequences and was most likely killed and sent to Hell because of that. It would kinda make sense as she would've seen Alastor's grow to power in hell and maybe even knew of his history of killing back on Earth (small possibility if she did maybe she would've tried blackmailing him to help her) and would use it to her advantage. But again this is just a small fan theory.
I love how he danced around the descriptions for a certain canibalistic cryptid known for starting off human and turning more monstrous without actually saying their name😂 Smart man!
Here are my thoughts. 1). Rosie’s claim to fame IS match making, but not strictly romantically. She also networks with other powers in hell to help meet their needs. 2). I believe Rosie and all the cannibals are Sinners, they are just ones that fulfilled whatever criteria it takes to look like that… or Rosie MADE them look like this. After making a Deal with Rosie to live in Cannibal Town, Rosie (The Powerful Overlord) gives them some sort of “Glamour” to give them set traits. 3). If the Cannibals were native born then why would that exterminators care about missing one? Ya I know they’re still _Wretched Demons_, but if they have a lifespan they’ll die out anyway, as harsh as Lute and Adam are would THAT be “Stab your eye out” worthy.
I'm leaning more to the natives theory just because they are all so similar and have kids, however I can see the sinner one of the town starving a possibility as well!

th-cam.com/video/dNhNKsroxJs/w-d-xo.html
It’s amazing that she is one of the nicest people in Hell. The cannibal Overlord.
Yeah, it's crazy when you think about it.
To be fair she's friends with Alastair so she's clearly not a non-dangerous person
Turns out the cannibal is a people person, who'd have thought.
its more amazing that people think she is the nicest, based on giving some good advice to the princess of hell, that she openly sings about joining because she believes Charlie is on the winning side... she is the most evil named character only contested by Alistair, as both are brutal murderers, just she eats her victims too, keeping dozens of souls as slaves as an overloard, but sure, she is nice because on her screen time she acts nicely for a couple minutes... yeah just forget about all else she did, and still does.
She's still a cannibal
I was wondering why angels were allowed to attack Canibals. Even Vaggie was expected to kill a Canibal child.
Exactly. I thought part of the extermination deal was that the hellborn were safe and that only sinners could be killed. So having the Cannibals as hellborn doesn't make sense.
@@applepye1353 But then again supposedly Rosie does not have a death date implying she is hellborn which means she must've come from somewhere

That would actually be an interesting idea
I think the fact they look the same IS their deal with Rosie. Rosie gets their soul and the cannibals get a safe and lovely community. Heaven has no idea how souls get there and Adam even says "there is no defying their fate"
Where the show is dripping in Catholic Momento Mori, the story and problem between heaven and hell takes a lot from Calvinism or predstination where some people are destined for heaven and some for hell. Rosie saw children in hell and decided she was going to protect them. So children who manifest find their way to her eventually cause cannibal town doesnt just have children, but a lot of children. Kids still have a soul so they add to the pile of her contracts.
Oh i love that theory

Well to be fair, a cannibal would be better at knowing someone's insides and well as their outside.
the aesthetic of the town is imo one of the best in the show. its this picturesque early 1900's american town, populated by well-dressed yet ghoulish residents with hollow eye sockets.
@@ambasutori9053 pfft, yeah, very normal people
I hate how not a single time in the actual episode did Vivzie confirm if Rosie and the colony are hellborn or sinners, this question unironically bothering me more than Alastor end game, I just want straight answer Vivzie 😢

But why they don’t look like predators like wolfs or lions for doing what they do in nature to eat ?
Rosie is quite literally a therapist and a marriage counselor with people who aren't married. I love her character design and personality SM.
I do the longest comments maggot if fighting is to result in victory then you must fight
I like this idea! We can see it with val and the souls that he owns that they all have a gold tooth
All: Huzzah!

My money's on them being Sinners, since Exorcists are expected to hunt them too.
Yes but in that 1 was strongest 10 was weakest

Rosie Is the most powerful than the other cannibals in her town besides she's friends with alastor I can imagine they have meat brunches for every afternoon
If cannibals are hellborn, that would explain why Vaggie let the kid go and make her assault even more messed up.
I think when Luci says "Sinners are violent psychopaths" he's referring to Alastor absolutely destroying the loan sharks 😂
I don't now a lot of options are popping on my mind right now)
@@tomasvarela1959 they are most likely hellborn just like the imps

Making Rosie and the rest of the cannibals straight up Hell born makes a lot of sense given their designs, and having Rosie as a Hell born Overlord as an exception just adds to some world building. I might be wrong but it seems most Sinners are wildly powerful or at least more plentiful than Hell born. Having Rosie as an Overlord and a Hell Born would simply give credence to her power and influence.

Overlords have to be sinners
@@lunarkun6342No, we know The Von Eldritch Family have hellborn overlords among them.
( though it's probably just. writing inconsistencies, lol. )
I doubt that
I wonder if this town is built off of the time right before the Great depression in the 1920s.
He talked about how they "bring destruction to your doorstep" and are violent, which fits for each of them (mimzy brought the loan sharks there and Alastor attacked them)
I like to think that cannibal town represents hypocrisy. Cannibal puts up a nice front but unspeakable behind doors.
true but you heard Charlie every demon is rainbow
"Ace in the hole" comment from her meant three things to me on first viewing:
Alastor has the same grey skin. So there’s 100% some amount of similarity just by being cannibals

7:33 I think Lucifer wasn’t taking about the loansharks but about Alastor
I really like Rosie’s character, i didn’t expect her to be so powerful yet so sweet at the same time though, it’s really refreshing compared to the other overlords :)
Friendly reminder that Cannibalism is "The practice of eating the flesh of one's own species."
That means that "Cannibals" eating Angels is just normal behaviour..
i feel like when soul deals are made both parties can choose the aspects of the deal.angel dust signed a contract to work for valentino, so most of his power is at val's place. husk lost his soul while gambling so alastor owns it outright.
I think it'd be funny if we got a song where Rosie is basically saying the same thing Alistair did you could almost call her mom to Charlie
Hell greatest mom
@@johanabintimohd.aminyeopon701 blood family (lucifer and lillith) vs adopted family (alastor and rosie) rap battle
Rosie is SUCH a sweetheart (I would)
Rosie must’ve had her hands full when 2023 came along trying to figure all the genders and sexualities, no shade to them but Jesus Christ it’s a lot
My personal headcanon is that they were a cult of some sort that ate human flesh, or maybe like you said, had to eat each other because of a famine, or maybe they killed and ate their leader
I believe the Cannibals are the Pride Ring natives, because as you pointed out with Alastor who himself is a cannibal
their forms aren't exactly the same...you even pointed that out with Angel's family
so for the entire colony to look pretty much identical to each other, would be very much impossible with the current evidence...so it is very likely they're the exact same species
And what about the color of their blood then? After the final battle in the last episode we saw some dead cannibals, and their blood was red. But we saw in Helluva Boss that hellborn Demons’ blood is not red, but black. Then if they are hellborns why their blood is red? 🤔🤔
@@federicam4793 charlie has red blood, and she is also a hellborn
@@xxmension04xx47 maybe Charlie is a particular case, since her parents are a fallen Angel and a human woman, but honestly I don’t know… this thing kinda confuses me….
@@federicam4793 yeah, not to mention...the loan sharks in hazbin also bleed red
@@xxmension04xx47 yeah, while the ones we saw in helluva had black blood. So maybe it like imp cut said in the video… those were also sinners who took the appearance of sharks in hell cause they were loan sharks in life…..
They’re sinners for the following reasons:
1) they were able to be killed by the angels without consequences
2) they bleed red (same with the Loan Sharks, whom I assumed were Hellborn as well, but Hellborn have black blood, as seen in HB and when Dazzle dies)
3) Vivzie has said that anything said by Faust is not canon anymore
If there are both sinner and hellborn Loan Sharks then there are probably both sinner and hellborn cannibals. By that logic it's still entirely possible that Rosie is a hellborn even if not everyone in the colony is.
So really really interesting fact. There actually is a town that was massively destroyed during that timeframe and also had a history of cannibalism. Galveston Texas was completely destroyed during the 1900's storm and the native population was known for spiritual and ritualistic cannibalism. It's such a neat little connection and it's going to be my personal headcannon from now on!
It is worth noting that the cannibals are the only people in the show so far to refer to humans, Susan saying she wanted to eat human flesh rather than sinner flesh
That combined with their human like designs implies to me they're probably sinners who are in denial of their place in hell to some degree, hence the commitment to maintaining their way of life
I never thought of it, but it makes sense if the citizens of Cannibal Town are in fact the native species of the Pride Ring.
FINALLY!! IVE BEEN VOTING FOR THIS FOREVER!!
i`m pretty sure that these are sinners. People from WW1, who hated each other so mush, that wanted to "eat" the enemy. This motive of a soldier eating the body of an enemy is very common in the period btw, in war posters and other propaganda
But why now are they all friendly like if i found the guy who shot me and ate my body i wouldnt be able to reconciliate with them within 100 years
@@dat_boi747 welp, the main reason for WW1 was nationalism and fight for the resources. In Hell they are part of one nation
Cannibals being native to the wrath ring and migrating to the pride ring would make sense considering they eat sinners and wrath is a desolated ring.
I like how most of the cannibals look to be from 100-400 years ago, showing how there were many events back then in war, slavery, ext. Where people resort to eating their own people, and even children.
I’m a sucker for history!
Vizipop stated that kids dont go the hell in her show. If im remembering correctly so the kids at least would have to be hell born
When did she say this??
What I believe makes the Cannibal colony different, and as mentioned in the video as well as the song Ready For This, is how they dress also reflects their unity with one another. With them all dressed in late 19th to early 20th century clothes, around 1889-1905 if you want an estimate, is a way for the cannibals to be basically in some sort of uniform and looking like a more united society than the rest of Pentagram City where everyone looks different from one another and miserable while the cannibals seem very happy to be together and will help fight and devour anything and anyone.
I think when Lucifer was referring to Alastor when he was talking about sinners
@@Techhunter_Talon actually Vivienne established sinners can't leave the Pride Ring at all, yet alone Hell.
@@martaneon5310 Anything said outside of the show is subject to change.

I mean, if they are natives, they wouldn't be called "cannibals", cus they're a different species
Most of the cannibals in the town may have been humans, but they never died, which is why they can reproduce themselves. They opened a portal to Hell from Earth and settled there, living in Hell they began to turn into demons. Infernal cannibals are a subspecies of Homo Sapiens, formed in Hell.
Wrong because in some cases cannibals can refer to someone eating a being of similar intelligence such as in settings with multiple races and species
I love how he danced around the descriptions for a certain canibalistic cryptid known for starting off human and turning more monstrous without actually saying their name😂
Smart man!
He did? What cryptid?
@@Noriaki-fc7sm 💀
Hint, Alastor is suspected to be one
With all this being said, it makes you kind of wonder how Moxie and Millie meet
It’s official Rosie and Alastor r my 2 most favorite characters in the show
I love the canibal town soo much the 30s style is sooooo cool
That‘s not 1930s, but rather the 1900s.
I think the cannibals are a mix of some being sinners some being native to Hell
I'm leaning more to the natives theory just because they are all so similar and have kids, however I can see the sinner one of the town starving a possibility as well!
