It’s weird that adult shows attract the youngest of audience and the new age cartoons for kids attracts the weirdest of adults. Look at owl house, she ra and Korra. Most of the fandom are adults and yet hazbin hotel has like little guys watching. Weird results.
I feel like a lot of it might also be those content farm channels on TH-cam were they'll market videos towards kids that really shouldn't like *insert show that's not for kids* but it's minecraft and we poorly imitate the characters or when they make videos using kids media and put jokes and gags that are inappropriate for children

Hazbin is like the final boss of this though. You may have other shows targeting teenie audiences with their hopeless and melodramatic romance plots sprinkled with dirty stuff in them in similarly edgy themes, sure, but good god has no show come close to what hazbin is man. Kids as young as eight watch this? I’d be more concerned about them watching this instead of shows like Simpsons or South Park. Edit: I'm not saying these shows are good for any kid to watch, I just specifically chose those two because I consider their writing superior to an extent (I thought it would be more edifying as an amateur writer myself and that some of the episodes would resonate with viewers in ways more unique than this; not that Hazbin or Helluva is bad).

Just wanna clarify, the situation with Digital Circus and Vivziepop blocking the person who made the joke video, that wasn't one of the creators of TADC, just a random person on Twitter. Also, ever since that video was posted, I've heard some rumors that there were loads more videos in that same vein that popped up and the joke got so tiring that Viv blocked the source. It's even being said to this day from within the fanbase that the "X if it was written by Vivziepop" meme is becoming lazy after being used so many times.

Same here, man! I know the show has problems, but this show has done a lot for me and still inspires me to make my own show and get my creations out into the world one day. I must be lucky because I've only met some of the kindest, funniest people in the community. Maybe because I stick to that side of the community, I don't get exposed to the, let's say, dirty underbelly of the fandom. The shows and fandom have problems, but I can't stop loving them for what they've helped me with. They inspire me and make me happy- hell, thanks to Michael, I found out I was bi. I always like to say, look on the bright side of things and show everyone the best of the community and what it can offer.

Sure, social media was there around those times as forums, but they were still something you didn't present to everyone. You kept things about the topic, to the topic. The thing is, ever since then, as social media grew extremely normalized and wide reaching, this has had a bit of a side effect where because now it's easier than ever to get outreach, attention, and what not. But because of how many people have tried using and abusing this outreach to their advantage over the years, this has caused newer and newer communities to get very polarized (at least for things with wide popularity).

When the show first came to Amazon Prime Video, I legit stared at my screen, thinking about all the things I’ve seen about the fandom for about less than a hour, contemplating whether I should watch it or not. And I did end up watching it, and thought it was just alright overall. I will give them credit for the animation, it’s pretty great.
Hazbin Hotel itself is not a bad show at all, but it was a disappointement. Vivziepop is a very talented person (and artist), and i genuinely believe that. But storytelling is her weak point.
@@cropulturaarts I legitimately prefer Helluva Boss. Aside from the fact that it stays more relevant for a longer time because we have a new episode every 4 months or so. But also the color schemes of the show are much different (it's not all red) I prefer these characters. Blitz is more interesting than Charlie. Millie, Moxxie and Stolas are precious beans and funny enough my favorite part of the show is the romance drama and Blitz trying to fix his past with Fizz, Verosika etc

So I was playing an online game where we can customize characters. I was hanging out with some friends when a Valentino 'cosplayer' walked over to my character and said they wanted to SA me (they used much harsher wording). They then proceeded to say the most gross shit I've ever heard while chatting with another HH cosplayer. That kinda ruined it for me.
I remember writing a comment criticizing Helluva Boss that got 2K likes, and man… the replies. One kid kept on replying to me and all my other comments, I clicked on his name and… he had over 500 FUCKING COMMENTS ON THAT ONE CHANNEL. And when another video criticizing Helluva Boss came out, my comment got 1k likes and HE FUCKIN SHOWED UP AGAIN. Even other comments warned me not to engage with him because he was JUST THAT TRIGGERED. It was abysmal 😂
It could most likely be chalked up to being put on Amazon Prime. Just look at what prime originals came before it in recent years, and it starts to make sense.

Reminds me of how the Creepypasta fandom got worse and more cringe when shipping-obsessed kids and teenage anime fangirls got a hold of it. To the point where the Slenderman Stabbing happened because parents of the perpetrators didn't get their kids help for their mental illnesses. It didn't help that so many young people, including the perpetrators, glorified and romanticized villainous monsters and serial killers like Jeff the Killer, Slenderman, Laughing Jack, Smile.jpg, Ben from Ben Drowned, etc. even to the point of dragging in Marble Hornets characters such as Tim and Brian (nicknamed Masky and Hoodie due to the mask the former wears and the hood the latter wears) into the fandom. The perpetrators of the Slenderman Stabbing had wanted to kill their "friend" to appease Slenderman in the hopes of him whisking them away to live with him and the other 'pasta characters in his "mansion" (a concept the shipping fandom created), so they tricked their "friend" into playing hide-and-seek in a forest, and then ended up stabbing her 19 times. Luckily she survived and managed to crawl her way to a nearby road where a cyclist found her.

As a Hazbin fan myself, seeing all this stuff going on surrounding it almost makes me feel worse for even becoming a fan in the first place I had discovered the show back in mid-2018 before the pilot had even released and the trailer had showed up in my recommended, I believed the show could be my comfort show and would slowly grow an at least middling community Now I just feel awful for even having a hyperfixation on the show

IMO it’s honestly still very cringe, I remember watching helluva boss a few years ago when it wasn’t as popular and cringey but only finished the 1st season, and just couldn’t bring myself to watch anymore.

Kids as young as eight watch this? I’d be more concerned about them watching this instead of shows like Simpsons or South Park.
Edit: I'm not saying these shows are good for any kid to watch, I just specifically chose those two because I consider their writing superior to an extent (I thought it would be more edifying as an amateur writer myself and that some of the episodes would resonate with viewers in ways more unique than this; not that Hazbin or Helluva is bad).

Just wanna clarify, the situation with Digital Circus and Vivziepop blocking the person who made the joke video, that wasn't one of the creators of TADC, just a random person on Twitter. Also, ever since that video was posted, I've heard some rumors that there were loads more videos in that same vein that popped up and the joke got so tiring that Viv blocked the source. It's even being said to this day from within the fanbase that the "X if it was written by Vivziepop" meme is becoming lazy after being used so many times.
I can confirm there are lots of videos like this. I am personally not tired of them, just like I am not tired of the "Hazbin Hotel fans when they go to Hell" memes.

As someone who has been apart of the hazbin hotel community for years I can agree that the fandom and the community in general is pretty cringe and crazy
there are a LOT of kids who shouldn't even be on the internet yet
There are a LOT of predators in the community, kids + predators = disaster
The creator of hazbin and helluva does go through a lot of drama almost every day for the smallest things, that's why the community is pretty toxic

I must be lucky because I've only met some of the kindest, funniest people in the community. I think what happened was, back then, those communities were not the mainstay of attention and kept things to themselves. Sure, social media was there around those times as forums, but they were still something you didn't present to everyone. You kept things about the topic, to the topic.
The thing is, ever since then, as social media grew extremely normalized and wide reaching, this has had a bit of a side effect where because now it's easier than ever to get outreach, attention, and what not. But because of how many people have tried using and abusing this outreach to their advantage over the years, this has caused newer and newer communities to get very polarized (at least for things with wide popularity).

When the show first came to Amazon Prime Video, I legit stared at my screen, thinking about all the things I’ve seen about the fandom for about less than a hour, contemplating whether I should watch it or not. And I did end up watching it, and thought it was just alright overall. I will give them credit for the animation, it’s pretty great.

Hazbin Hotel itself is not a bad show at all, but it was a disappointement. Vivziepop is a very talented person (and artist), and i genuinely believe that. But storytelling is her weak point.
@@cropulturaarts I legitimately prefer Helluva Boss. Aside from the fact that it stays more relevant for a longer time because we have a new episode every 4 months or so. But also the color schemes of the show are much different (it's not all red) I prefer these characters. Blitz is more interesting than Charlie. Millie, Moxxie and Stolas are precious beans and funny enough my favorite part of the show is the romance drama and Blitz trying to fix his past with Fizz, Verosika etc

I remember writing a comment criticizing Helluva Boss that got 2K likes, and man… the replies. One kid kept on replying to me and all my other comments, I clicked on his name and… he had over 500 FUCKING COMMENTS ON THAT ONE CHANNEL. And when another video criticizing Helluva Boss came out, my comment got 1k likes and HE FUCKIN SHOWED UP AGAIN.
Even other comments warned me not to engage with him because he was JUST THAT TRIGGERED. It was abysmal 😂
It could most likely be chalked up to being put on Amazon Prime. Just look at what prime originals came before it in recent years, and it starts to make sense.

Reminds me of how the Creepypasta fandom got worse and more cringe when shipping-obsessed kids and teenage anime fangirls got a hold of it. To the point where the Slenderman Stabbing happened because parents of the perpetrators didn't get their kids help for their mental illnesses. It didn't help that so many young people, including the perpetrators, glorified and romanticized villainous monsters and serial killers like Jeff the Killer, Slenderman, Laughing Jack, Smile.jpg, Ben from Ben Drowned, etc. even to the point of dragging in Marble Hornets characters such as Tim and Brian (nicknamed Masky and Hoodie due to the mask the former wears and the hood the latter wears) into the fandom. The perpetrators of the Slenderman Stabbing had wanted to kill their "friend" to appease Slenderman in the hopes of him whisking them away to live with him and the other 'pasta characters in his "mansion" (a concept the shipping fandom created), so they tricked their "friend" into playing hide-and-seek in a forest, and then ended up stabbing her 19 times. Luckily she survived and managed to crawl her way to a nearby road where a cyclist found her.
