    The photos with the music makes me feel so nostalgic about the pre covid times. Great work!

    Wow..... so many street photographers on TH-cam and none have been able to capture such compelling images like these. From composition, timing, film stocks, and use of colors, and light, Very nice work!

    It’s not just the camera but what really matter is the man behind it. Great piece of work👍

    Excellent images, a delight for the eye and the mind, suggests the vitality and dynamism of a city where all the possible hidden passions occur at your sight especially when we see the beauty, grace and cold indifference of all those young and beautiful inaccessible women. Amazing what a camera like Leica M6 and a perfect Leica lenses with Fuji film achieves and can do with a correct technique in the hands of a sensitive and neat photographer.

      Some of the ladies look quite friendly. Given the impromptu nature of street photography and the realities of gender dynamics, Hiroshi must be doing something right to get so many terrific images.

    Wow!!!! I'm a digital shooter but your photos make me want to go pick up and M6 and start shooting film. Your captures are heart warming and seem like something I would see of Europe out of old James Bond films. Subscribed!

    The real subject of interest in this set of photos is not what’s in front of the camera, but the rendering produced by the *film inside* the camera. In a world saturated with cheap digital images, I’d readily spend time and coin to view many more sincere - - if imperfect - - exhibitions of the type posted here.

    Love these shots, the Portra 400 shots really give such a warm vibe. Did you push your tri-x or HP5? Probably not necessary since it looked like bright sunny days but curious if you do push them for the larger aperture gain

    Hi, just ordered loads of film from amazon Kodak Portra 400 35m 36exp Film Professional 5 Pack £55.99 Amazon. Quite expensive. Should I store the unused film in the fridge ? Ideal temp ?

  • @CrazyCalabrese78

    Very nice. At what speed did you rate the Portra? It has punchier colours than usual. Maybe it’s the contrast from the lens or perhaps you shot at box speed? I really liked it :)

    • @CrazyCalabrese78
      @CrazyCalabrese78 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiroshi Tabata oh cool! I usually shoot Portra 400 at 320 and have it developed normally. Have been wanting to try it pushed one stop. When you shot it at 800 and 1600 did you also push it in development or just developed normally?

    • @CrazyCalabrese78
      @CrazyCalabrese78 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiroshi Tabata thanks for the information. I’ll give it a try at 640 and pushed one stop perhaps. But yeah if you control it through the scan then that sounds easy too. I’ve seen some underexposed shots in low light and think that looks very cool also, but obviously a different mood to the shots taken in good light.

    These are excellent photographs. I think the act of using a camera with traditional chemical film seems to bring out the best in the art, compared with digital. It is expensive each time you open the shutter, so you really look at the scene before you do it.

    • @1911FanBoi
      @1911FanBoi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s called ‘chimping’ with digital. You can get the perfect shot by referencing the previous shot. You will end up with 100’s of shots. With film you have to get the shot. There’s no looking at a monitor to see if it came out well. You will know after the film is developed. It’s truly a lost art.
      My father was an amateur photographer from film to digital. His photographs got better due to better equipment but I prefer his film stuff when he was shooting with his Leica that I have now.

    I love photography, just i feel like the modern leica's are too much for the simple manual life. I understand that it's for relaxing, and are made of brass,but they are simply too expensive to be that simple for the price. odd question is this the slowed down version of modern photography? I've shot with a leica m2,and i'm usually just walking, and i'm just snapping pictures up as fast as i can, before i'm noticed and i have to pretend i'm not here and walk off like i'm going somewhere else,as i'm constantly feeling like i'm doing something wrong, and if they find out it's done. everyone says you shouldn't do this as you could get into trouble. the best photo's are either the accidents or the ones you just randomly take. sometimes i just don't like too mind my own business. it's just something to do as i walk, so i don't have to mutter. simple story is i'm am gifted concert photographer or the camera wizard as i'm told. sorry...
