A selection of black and white film photos. All photographs are taken in Brighton, UK where I live. The majority of these were Iloford HP5 plus. There are probably four or five shots taken with Kodak Tri-X. instagram.com/hiro_ig101/ Camera: Leica M2 (a few maybe with M6) Lenses: 35mm Summicron and 28mm Elamarit (both ASPH) Developer: Ilfortec HC 1+15
Great video. Your photos are breathtakingly beautiful. Keep up the great work. Even though you mainly used Ilford HP5 what is your preferred b/w film? And when will you post more videos like this one?
@@MrPhotoMan22 Thank you! Tri-X for me. I feel TriX handles highlight a bit better. However I always shoot both films pushing by two stops, so it may be different with box speed.
Super images of a place I know reasonably well. These photos are timeless and were a joy to witness. They inspire me to shoot more B&W Film! Thank you!
I love your work it's so beautiful ! I would be terrified taking pictures that close with people notice me like 3:20 Wha'ts your technique for that ? :)
Thanks! No techniques... :-) Don't try to be sneaky when you're shooting people. Obviously, I got caught on this one that you mentioned, but I just smiled and they didn't care. Actually, a second later, I got another shot of the guy at the far end in the shot.
Amazing selection of photos! I visited Brighton back in 2012 with my latin class. Do you use any filters with your BW-photography? Greetings from Germany

Lovely. Enjoyed the selection.
Thanks!
The beauty of B/W film is the timelessness of it. These photographs could be from 1968 or 2014.. who knows.. timeless
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing it. 👌🏼
Thanks for watching!
A very productive summer that never was. Nice one!
Thank you!
Super action of streets and sea! Love the gritty look! How does one develop Tri-X, so it doesn't curl?
Stunning pictures ! You mind sharing your focal length, lengths ? Thank you
Best regards from Zermatt
Excellent Hiroshi!

A friend just pointed me to your work. Great stuff 🙌
Great shots and the video had a super nice vibe to it. Loads of grain though; what were you metering the film at? Or is it just from the developer?
Impressive images, really inspiring! How did you meter the shots? External light meter or sunny 16 rule?
Thanks! Sunny 16.
@@streetsaheadphoto Great mastery and stunning vision, congrats
Great photos. It would like to know what were those taken with the 28mm. Thanks

Love the music. Who’s the artist and what’s the title?
